We Were Going To Practice, But We Took Naps Instead

Sunday afternoon, we got all the dudes in the band together. We were going to practice, but we took naps instead. It was a long week of being unemployed. You get so tired when you have nothing to do. But, we're going to make an attempt to practice some time before Christmas. We don't want to overdo it. Rust is becoming to us. Can't shake it all off.

The guy in the picture is actually my next door neighbor. What's weird is that it was 36º the other day and we thought he was frozen solid. But his nipples were as hard as diamonds, so we used him to cut some glass for a window Jimmie wants to put in his closet.

Why he's putting a window in his closet, we're not quite sure. The frozen guy said he would help until his nipples warmed up. But he's been a bit unreliable lately. He had a problem with the police.

It seems he likes to run around the house naked. When he wouldn't take it inside, the cops finally arrested him. But he used one of his frozen nipples to cut through the bars in the jail and he was on the street in forty minutes.

I hope you're finally taking down your Halloween decorations like we are. Those candy corn, though, they get really, really hard. Almost like diamonds.

Well, we were going to practice, but we took naps instead. CYA....

Dudes Release Follow Up To Club Love - Love Club

Love Club by Roger And The Imaginary Dudes.

Someone put the dancing shoes on Roger And The Imaginary Dudes and we just put together our first sequel, follow-up tune. Our first dance number in 30+ years was Club Love. After maybe 45 minutes in the studio and a couple hours of mixing after that we came up with Love Club. It gets us where we need to be in the pantheon of driving beats that cause people to sweat tequila and fruity drinks.

Love Club really had everything you could want in a repetitive club beat song. There are some cool bass lines that go with the repetitious beats, too. You can dance to this, or you can wax your floors really fast.

Frankly, I find that it's good music for washing the car or competitive pizza eating. Love Club transcends the club and even works well when you have to fold laundry.

Everything in life will zip by much faster. If you're 35, you'll feel 40 by the end of this one. Guaranteed.

We may go in a completely different direction next time. What comes next is all in our imagination. For now, Roger And The Imaginary Dudes release follow-up to Club Love - Love Club. Time to dust.

First Real Dance Number From Roger And The Imaginary Dudes

Club Love, first dance number from the Dudes.

Since we don't own a box, our music can move from genre to genre. We've been primarily in the rock lock and we've been pretty proud that you really can't dance to any of our previous music. But, in this day and age, you have to go where the money is and right now, club mixes are the rage. We'll spew a few of those until we get tired. Club Love is the first dance number from Roger And The Imaginary Dudes.

We broke out of our mold and are looking attract new fans, really any fans would do. We're not real picky who likes us. We just want people to go nuts when they hear our songs and get therapy afterwards.

Club Love incorporated standard club beats, but we throw in a little Latin influences and a little guitar. Hey, we're not pure club guys yet. But, we see an opportunity to make these mixes and we're going for it.

Call us sell-outs... we don't give a crap. We're proud of our first dance number from Roger And The Imaginary Dudes.

Roger And The Imaginary Dudes Wants Our Twitter Account Back

There ain't no phone support at Twitter. Total BS.

This is pure crap. We opened a Roger And the Imaginary Dudes Twitter account @imaginarydudes - the name was perfect because it had something to do with us... we were just getting started tweeting and we got out a whole 24 tweets and Twitter suspended the account. This is bullshit! Roger And The Imaginary Dudes want our Twitter account back.

After the first account got blown up, we made a secondary account @RogersDudes - and that only got out 9 tweets before it was blown up - suspended by Twitter.

What I don't get is how all these porn peddlers with nothing but crap to push get away with it.

I have no idea why Twitter suspended these two accounts. We did everything right, we had a unique email, a name, a blog site, we didn't mass follow or unfollow people. Hell, the account was only up for a couple HOURS. But, BAM - we were zapped.

I think it had something to do with a stealth account. But speculation will only mess with your buzz. And dudes, that ain't good.

We just want to have a platform to send our message out to the world. And we don't want to have a Twitter account that is @BarrysWidgets. We want @imaginarydudes back. It's us. Sounds like us. Smells like us. It IS us.

We're under appeal. But that can take days. We'll see what happens.

There are so many spammers out there, why in the world did WE get blasted? I think the reasons are really fishy. Roger And The Imaginary Dudes wants our Twitter account back, and we will fight to be tweeting like the rest of the world soon.

Jimmie Jive, legendary guitarist for Roger And The Imaginary Dudes, sat down for an interview with Roger to chat about the past of the band. But not all was happy at the interview site. The Jimmie Jive interview gets some feedback, but it's not all good.

Part of the RogerBlazic.com ALL MY DONUTS film series, this interview takes you into the recording studio of Roger And The Imaginary Dudes. You get to see buttons, cords, CD's, wires, amplifiers, playback devices and more. This could have been on PBS if more than 7 people cared about the band.

Check out our slightly eccentric guitar player and our studio. Jimmie's Home/Studio is full of music memorabilia. You might want to take some time to watch the video a couple times to catch all the goodies.

We hope to let you meet more of the band members in the future. They're imaginary, so we have to find people who want to not be real people, but provide us with characters. There will be more Jammin' With Jimmie Jive in the future.

Oscar Buzz Rejoins Roger And The Imaginary Dudes

Oscar Buzz is back. Mouth harp Legend.

For a couple decades, we had one of the best mouth harp dudes on the circuit. Then, he walked off one night in Memphis and we never saw him again. It's been five years. Well, Oscar Buzz has rejoined Roger And The Imaginary Dudes. You have no idea how important this is to our sound.

Oscar Buzz has taught many of the legends in the industry. But he's got so many skills.

The dude can play bass, drums, tambourine, bells, bongos, congas, and he does sound effects.

Buzz is the man, dude. He really knows how to rip it and the crowds love him.

It's so great we found him at the bus station, trying to get a gumball with a nickle. He obviously needs the cash, so we brought the dude back.

Today is one of the happiest days in recent hours for us. Oscar Buzz rejoins Roger And The Imaginary Dudes.

Roger And The Imaginary Dudes Releases New Single

Sorry, Wrong Button, new from Roger and the Dudes.

After a grueling 38 hours in the studio, we finally banged out our latest set of sounds, Sorry, Wrong Button. Like many of our previous releases, this should go straight to vinyl or even 8-track. One of these days we'll get one on cassette. Lots of people were surprised when Roger And The Imaginary Dudes released a new single. No one knew we were working on anything. But the music industry is full of surprises.

This tune is our first attempt at a social message since we tried to write a protest song about the 6-Day Israeli war in 1967. Warped Wally (bass) and I went to school together. When the war broke out, we felt compelled to write a song, but neither one of us knew how to play an instrument. That proved to be our downfall. So, we've though long and hard about a tune with a message since then.

Sorry, Wrong Button, points out some of societies ills and it tells us that we need to pay attention. These things are not accidents. They are bad, conscious choices. I think the dudes that like our stuff will really relate to this.

This song was difficult to produce because we brought back our old producer, "Tracks" McCafferty. We call him "Tracks" because he's been fighting intravenous vitamin addiction for 38 years. Plus, the dude is really old. He's like 85.

He still curses the day that stereo became the standard over mono, "Two channels, who the hell do they think we are in the sound booths? Most of this crap isn't worth putting on one channel, let alone two."

"Tracks" is also deaf in one ear, which makes this even more frustrating for him. We've got a kid with an iPod that helps he out with the left channel.

Who knows when we'll be inspired to come up with a new tune. But there could be something more socially relevant that we will be working on next. I have to watch more PBS documentaries for ideas, dude.

2nd Twitter Account Suspended After 13 Tweets

Twitter ain't right, dude. We gotta talk.

Dude, this is getting repetitious. Twitter suspended a SECOND account, and, dude, we only made 13 tweets. Yes. A 2nd Twitter account was suspended after 13 tweets. Seriously. We made 13 tweets on our second account and Twitter suspended it. Dude? Don't get it.

But I think there is something to this. Seriously. And it ain't good.
The first time it happened, it was right after following and replying to @PariMilansWorld on Twitter. So, dude, we can't wait, we need to get our message out to the world or at least the 11 people following us on Twitter. So, we opened a new account @RogersDudes and right away @PariMilansWorld asked us to follow her. When we did, the same reply we sent to her on @ImaginaryDudes came up. Dude, is that freakin' weird? We didn't even tweet to that broad. And then that tweet shows up. I think she has a virus or some shit you gotta take shots for. STAY AWAY from that ho.

So, we're living without Twitter until our suspensions are appealed. You can't even tweet without going to court these days. Dude, it ain't right.

I can't believe a 2nd Twitter account was suspended after 13 tweets. Dude, the next thing that will happen is we'll get suspended during the setup.

Twitter Suspends Account After 24 Tweets

Twitter, you suck!

Dude, I have no idea what happened there. Twitter suspended our account after 24 tweets. Like... wow! I was in complete shock. We have had this happen in the past, but we knew full well why it went down that way. Today, duh?

Roger was chatting with wild Brian Johnson. Some tweets shot back and forth. Roger shared a link with Brian and some other dude and then BAM! No more Twitter. And we had the name @ImaginaryDudes. It was too cool. But, we'll see if the suspension holds up.

I still can't freakin' believe Twitter suspended our account after 24 tweets.

New Music From Roger And The Imaginary Dudes

These three should go straight to vinyl.

We are so excited here in Vegas. Two days ago, our producer put the wraps on our latest releases. We have three songs that are sure to go straight to vinyl. But we're retro at heart, so we really don't care. We invite you to check out the new music from Roger And The Imaginary Dudes.

We have three songs, all instrumentals, that each have their own unique flavor.

Our goal was to come up with tunes we're pretty sure you can't dance to, but you can plug them in your iPod or MP3 player and not mind hearing a few dozen times.

The Truth About Roger And The Imaginary Dudes

The original name of the band was The Knights. LOL.

Everywhere I go, people are asking, "What's the deal with this band? Are you dudes for real?" Well, the music is real. We didn't steal it. We, or rather, I made the tunes on Garage Band, an Apple computer software for music creation and mixing. There is no band. That is the Truth about Roger And The Imaginary Dudes.

But, there is a cool ass story that goes with this. And you have to know the truth behind what is going on here, because it is bigger than all of us. Seriously, dude.

Roger And The Imaginary Dudes was created after the first three tunes were tracked. I (Roger) was having copyright issues with my YouTube videos and I decided to try to make my own music beds for the videos. So, I whipped out Garage Band and started figuring out how it worked. The first song was Funky Moroccan, followed by March Of The Babes. Several weeks later, Jeff's Song was produced and parts of it used in the ALL MY DONUTS video THE PROFESSOR - Donut Philosophy.

Don't ask what ALL MY DONUTS is, it's too complicated right now.

One day on Twitter, a guy starts tweeting me that I have to interview some rapper for my main blog, RogerBlazic.com. That blog has an audience that is generally white and over 30. I just could not see my audience caring about a rapper. But I checked out his music anyway. I hated it. Same thing I hate about most rap music, too filthy. Somebody always has to suck something or there's a motherf***** that is hangin' with the Nig*** and it's all the same.

Now, don't get me wrong. I really like Tupac Shakur's stuff - same filthy language, but he makes it all work. Akon is clean, and I really like his stuff. But this guy that the tweeter wanted me to listen to had a lousy voice and his beats sucked. But... there was more to the story.

Mr. Bad Rap was in a serious car accident and is now in a wheelchair. There, I thought, was a story angle. A guy gets crippled and he still goes on with his passion, music. I was interested in finding out if he was doing anything good with his disability, like working with others or inspiring others with the same plight.

In the process of researching the guy's music, I was turned on to the website ReverbNation. It's huge, used by bands globally to promote their music, tours, etc. They can sell their music through iTunes, create merchandise and sell that, too.

I was interested in seeing if I could upload my songs and maybe someday sell them on iTunes. Somebody would probably like one of them. Might be a way to come up with a few bucks.

Then, as my creative mind always does, the big light bulb went off. Why not create a band, an IMAGINARY band?

My initial motivation was to find a site where I could get a widget to play my songs on my main blog. But with all the cool band promotional tools on ReverbNation, I started to see a much larger picture.

That site has gadgets to do press releases, social media feeds, tour maps, tour schedules, press releases, everything a fledgling band could want. And I had a vision of how I could use all of those gadgets, I just needed a band. So, in the back conference room of Denny's on on Euclid Ave. at RT 91, Roger And The Imaginary Dudes was born.

To me this is a massively fun writing and social interactive game. If you follow this blog, you'll get to learn the sordid lives of the band that wouldn't give up.

Then, since I'm a WiFi kinda guy, I thought all of the tour dates would be held at Denny's around the country. I would encourage fans of the band to meet at Denny's, where they have 24/7 WiFi and bring their laptops, iPads, and smartphones. They could listen to RATID music and then take pictures of each other at the "gig" and email them back to me here; and they would be posted on the blog or on Flickr or I'll make a movie out of them.

I could have competitions between cities. See, there is an advantage to being an imaginary band, you can have concerts in more than one city on a given night. Which city will produce the largest turnout?

You'll have to stick with this site to find out.

Everyone I explain this to, that grasps the big picture, laughs their asses off. And that is the goal. HAVE FUN.

This post was written for the "early adopters" of Roger And The Imaginary Dudes. It will never be promoted and it will be tucked away as an FAQ in the post labels and on the top menu.

But in the meantime, we will keep the illusion going. Eventually, people will figure it out, but for those of you who were brave enough to click on something that you really had no idea what it was, you know the truth about Roger And The Imaginary Dudes - as far as I'm concerned, the greatest band of all time. LOL, LMAO and we're having fun now.
