Art Class

Went to pay a visit to my friend in an evening art class today. She was fine and talkative as usual. She was so excited and started showing me her painting. Gosh, she's a good artist. I never knew that. And then the teacher came along, he started chatting with me and talked about how art and photography link together. I always agree with that, after all, photography itself is an art subject.

We had a long conversation and he started bringing out notes, explained about how the discipline itself character us, making us think differently, creatively. I, myself is not from an art school, I never graduated with art as a major. So this whole talk and discussion I had with the teacher was an interesting one.

It was not long after that, he handed me a few diagrams, and asked me to come back and see him next week. So, drawing to hand in next week? Hmmm... Interesting.

Pull and Bear (Oxford St)

Pull and Bear recently launched their new store at Oxford street, London. I totally immerse myself watching the campaign video that they did. The short film is fully in black and white and the lighting is great! Luke Worall looks good in this video, and so are the other models.

The scene where they are holding flares under the rain is just great. There's a lot of light creativity involved there!

Passage of Escape

The colour theme of this shoot is inspired by too much of Sincity over the television. This was shot in Richmond, Surrey. On that day, not only Kristina did the make up brilliantly, she also drove us around Richmond for good location to use in our shoot!

Our model, Chrissy is a Pinoy mix Spanish who grew up in Australia. And Victor is a pure Spanish. He recently did a catwalk in London Fashion Week S/S10 and is getting good responses for his modeling career.

My birthday. It's such a great joy and bliss to hear so many wishes from friends and some long lost friends even we are thousand miles away. This is all made possible by facebook. I've screen saved the wishes I got from facebook and decided to post it here. Thank you guys! Some wishes came early while others late, that's because of the messed up time zone we are living in. (I'm sorry if you can't find any of your wishes, I might have screen saved the page before you posted it up.)

As each year of birthday comes along, it makes me reflects back what I've done, and to contemplate on the current situation. It's sort of like what most people do during New year. People look back in previous years and list down a whole lot of new year resolutions. (which most of the time never make the effort to achieve it, or the resolution is too unrealistic to keep up with)

Each year of birthday also means we are one year nearer to death. Anything can happen anytime at this moment. So live life in the current moment and learn to live while you are living instead of regretting to live when your time is ending.

Did this awhile back together with Tara. While transferring my files to other hard drive, I spotted these photos. I made a cover for this and decided to post it up here. It's strange looking back at these photos, the temperature is dropping lower and lower. Summer is over! So before we transition into winter by no time, I suppose these photos has to get up here to bring back some good hot summer memories!

Valyn is a friend I met few years ago in a language class. Well, our friendship cycle is funny, she's also my blogger friend and my photography friend. She's a travel blogger. She blogs everything about traveling and food. Check out her blog here.

Despite being thousand miles away from each other, we managed to meet up few weeks ago. She took me to King's College London for a stroll. She used to study there few years back and wanted to take some photos to remind her of the good times.

Just when Nunu is unaware of my presence I like to sneak and peep through the kitchen door and look at her. I like to picture her without her knowing that I'm there, to catch her candid behavior. This is Nunu at almost 8 months. Check her when she's 8 weeks old. Gosh, she's like a body builder consuming protein shake, she had grown so much in this short period.

Looking back my parents photo album sparked the idea of making my own old school portrait. Instead of the classical portrait pose that we used to see, I wanted to try something different. Something eccentric and silly for my character in the images.

This shoot was done in 30 minutes from scratch.

July Self Portrait

I'm currently in Rugby with my family. I will be away for awhile until the internet is sorted out in Newbury. It's funny how the PC in my brother's house is dominantly claimed by me. My mom will just allow me to use it until I'm away from my comfort zone. She likes the internet speed here, claiming that she can use it for watching news and videos on youtube.

Yeah, by the way, I've been teaching her all the wonders of internet. Surfing the internet, watching videos, communicating with messenger but the one thing I stay away from teaching her is FACEBOOK. And recently, she's been asking me about twitter.

Today, I've done a self portrait. It started out with a fine weather, sunny but not too hot. I wanted to do a photoshoot but there was no model. :( So I started and grab my camera and decided to do a self-portrait. Since it was awhile ago since I last did one. Supposed to be an outdoor shoot but I can't manage to find any tripod in the house so I have to resort to indoor and use a bench as my camera support.

I'm packing and moving house lately. While tidying up my mess, arranging them and putting them into crates, I just realized how much rubbish I had. But still, I decided to keep them. (Just in case I need them anyway. :)) My parents are here lately, so this makes the process much easier and faster. It's such a bliss having them around. I get breakfast served on the table early in the morning almost everyday.

They love my previous residing town. Every morning they will walk to the town centre and the local market, and come back with purchases from shops that I never heard off. I don't spend much time hanging and exploring the town itself. It's a shame, I myself don't know much about the town itself. I bet it just covers me with bad impression which explains why I'm so excited to move to a new place.

After the move, I'm sure they will be liking Newbury more. It's such a wonderful small town in this country. Why?

2. Less chav and more decent people
3. Bespoke gift shops. (I enjoy admiring their creativity)
4. People smile more to you. They go either this way, XD or this way :)

Bad boys coming to town.

No matter where you hide, we'll find you. Photo taken in one of the streets in Brighton. For the photo geeks out there, EXIF information: F7.1 1/30 ISO100. They are such a bad ass. I'm loving this photo, tattoos and denim pants blend so well together. It's been hot the last few weeks, temperature rising and emotions cracking up in the hot days. It's funny how weather could wind some people up. :)

Lately, life been hectic as ever, busy. Families, dinner, meetups, packing to move to a new location, shoots and more shoots. Despite all that, I'm enjoying every single moment. So bare with me for awhile, more photos will be shared soon.

This time is a shoot with Callistro. We thought of the theme-- hitch hiking by using VW Golf parked at the back as a prop in these images. To enhance the situation, I deliberately turn on the emergency signal light and managed to pull ourself out with a TOPMAN bag.
