When Scott McCall wished to be more than an ordinary teenager, he did not expect things to take a supernatural turn. Information and Guidelines For Parents

I. Some Important Considerations

A. The UPIS will admit only one hundred (100) students at Kindergarten for the academic year 2015-2016.
B. The UPIS as a service school of the University, has an admissions policy that mandates a 60-40 ratio of
students in favor of children of UP personnel who are either permanent, temporary or UP contractual upon
application.
C. The UPIS uses Filipino as medium of instruction from Kindergarten to Grade 4.

II. Qualifications for Admission

A. Applicants to Kindergarten must be 5 ½ to 6 ½ years old by June 2015.
B. Only those born within November 15, 2008 -December 31, 2009 are qualified to apply.
C. They should NOT have taken the UPIS Kindergarten Admission Test before.

III. General Instructions to Applicants/Parents

A. Accomplish completely the application form and test permit form.

Be sure to include the following requirements:
1. Two (2) recent 1 ½” x 1 ½” identical photos pasted on designated box.
2. Original birth certificate from the National Statistics Office (NSO), plus a clear
photocopy. For those born abroad, include original passport, and a clear photocopy of
the passport.
3. A long white letter envelope with postal stamp for mailing of results. Write the names
of the applicant and his/her parent/guardian and address with zip code.

Additional requirements
4. For UP employees:
a) 2015 Certification of Employment issued by HRDO
b) For dependents who are adopted, proof of adoption

B. Procedure for Submission of Application Form

Step 1. Submit the accomplished application form, test permit form, and other requirements to the
faculty processors at the UPIS 7-12 Bldg (ramp area) on the date specified in the
application form.

Step 2. Pay Ph450 testing fee at the UP Cashier’s Office.

Step 3. Submit the official receipt of payment to the faculty processor who in turn will issue the
applicant’s test permit.

Letter of admission will be issued by the Principal’s Office on May 4-8, 2015.

Examinees who did not qualify will also be notified of the results by mail.

The Goodness of Yoga

Today, many are hooked into Yoga. A lot of my friends are going crazy attending sessions of Yoga program. Some invited me but I declined but I was convinced too after I noticed changes with some of my friends. Changes are very positive that I cannot ignore and so I joined them in three sessions.

Now what did I found out? Yoga nurtures our body and soul. This is what I realized after I experienced doing yoga.

Yoga also brings goodness to our body. When we meditate, we breathe freely, inhaling fully and exhaling slowly unclogging our stressed mind. It made me feel light and great after the session.

Yoga helps us achieve physical and mental disciplines too.

For other people like athletes, they say doing yoga session reduce their athletic injuries. How? Because through yoga they learned to improve their balance, their flexibility, range of motion and strength. It is a complete exercise and physical therapy routine too.

It also helps us alleviate health problems, lower our blood pressure, ease aches and pains. And yes, Yoga could also help us lose weight. Now this is what I like the most, losing weight. No I am not obese I just need to shed off some weight.

If you’re feeling depressed, anxious and can’t get enough sleep or having insomnia, then Yoga is also for you.

Overall, Yoga improves quality of your life. Yoga teaches us to understand ourselves and the essence of why we live. It connects our body, mind and soul to live free and do great things in life.

Sing For Hope

Encouraging kids to join youth outreach program can help him grow as a person. I remember during my younger days, every summer I always ask my parents to bring me to my grandparent's house in the province. There, I enjoy planting and teach fellow kids to sing and dance. In that simple manner, I have encourage kids from the country side to learn new things and enjoy them. So every summer, there's a group of children who patiently wait for my return and I always feel excited about it.

This time, I'd like my kid to learn how to share himself to others. I know today is far more different than yesterday and situation today is more complex but I believe that my kid can do something big in his little way to inspire others being a volunteer in youth outreach program.

From this program, I know my kid can still enjoy things he loves to do like playing guitar or basketball with the homeless children or do artworks and paint with his peers to beautify the community. All I need to do is persuade him to join Sing For Hope - a charitable organization with volunteer program that benefit schools, hospitals and communities. This way I can help him understand how servicing other can help him learn and find his true color and vision in life.

Court of Inspiration in Butuan

By the desire to provide their community with its first real basketball court, locals from Barangay Ampayon in Butuan are brought together to build their own “Court of Inspiration” under the Aray Natin, Galing Natin campaign- a collaborative effort between small-town locals and Alaxan FR to construct these symbols of community and turn them into something that moves people to aim for greatness

“Maganda rin ‘to lalo na sa kabataan, para malayo sila sa mga bisyo” (This is also good for the youth, that they may be steered away from vices) says Bgy. Captain Samuel Allan Amante, who led his people into volunteering. Drug use is currently high among teens in Bgy. Ampayon, and the local government see the project as a means of sending the youth into the right direction.

Barangay Ampayon is just one of the many places that Alaxan FR is eyeing for the construction of Courts of Inspiration. For Visayas, the first basketball court was unveiled recently in Iloilo. Soon to rise are courts in Bacolod, Dumaguete, Tacloban, and Cebu. In Mindanao, construction will begin shortly in the communities of Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Zamboanga and Saranggani.

Through these projects, the campaign aims to give members of communities in different parts of our country pride in having personally built something that doesn’t just hone their skills, but builds their character as well.

“I was impressed at people’s willingness to jump at the opportunity to serve their community at our project in Butuan and I believe I’d witness the same level of enthusiasm in the communities where succeeding Courts of Inspiration are to be built,” says Kristine Martinez, Alaxan FR Product Director.

Today is a very hectic day for sports lovers - it's Manny Pacquiao versus Timothy Bradley at MGM Grand Hotel, Nevada, USA at the same time it's Boston Celtics versus Miami Heat.

Glad Bob Arum announce that Pacquiao and Bradley fight won't start until the NBA East Finals Game is finished. So here we are in front of the television my son is cheering for Boston Celtics and me for Miami Heat.
Kudos, to the Heat because I won! hehehe

After this, we're going to have our lunch while watching Pacquiao beating Bradley, hehehe.
