Quality Shopping at Your Fingertips

It has been a while since I bought something for myself. Motherhood really took me in and going out to shop is quite an effort for me nowadays. Good thing that shopping online is reliable, at least I am able to look for wholesale fashion at the point of my fingertips. I remember saying in one of my posts that shopping is not my thing especially when I became a mom but woman as I am, sometimes I can't help but fancy the latest fashion trends and imagined buying wholesale bags for myself. I guess, that will remain a dream for now. :(

I don't actually have a specific fashion style, I just go for what I feel is comfortable regardless of the brand and style but I just make sure that I am also dress for the occasion especially when I go to church. I want to wear the proper dress code for the Sunday mass and I just bought dresses which I can say under the korean fashion category. I like those dresses because they are stylish, affordable and of excellent quality. Thankful For The Life of My Lola

If there's one thing in the world that I wanted to do in my life, it is to make all my loved ones happy especially my grandmother who is already 78 years old. Her life is always a blessing to all of us. At 78, she is still capable of taking care of herself and her grandchildren. Lola Charity came to visit us last month. We didn't have much time to tour her around the city because my father was in the hospital that time and my cousin who came with her was also hospitalized. I was really really busy taking care of them.

My lola's health is still stable although she is having difficulty seeing things clearly because of her cataract. I brought her for check up before she went home and the doctor advised that she needs an eye operation. We are currently working on our funds for her operation and hopefully the operation will be done soon.

I find great joy spending time with my lola especially when I see her happy and laughing over simple things. I pray that the Lord will give her long life and that her operation will be materialize soon for her to enjoy life and see beautiful things once again.

How Do You Spend Holy Week?

Holy Week is one of the important religious celebrations for Catholic believers like me. I remember when Bren and I visited seven churches and attended a long procession to commemorate Semana Santa years back. Holy Week is also a great opportunity for every family to bond and spend time together since it is a long holiday and most people are on vacation.

I wish to participate in all the church activities this Holy Week but maybe I would not be able to do that giving prior consideration to Bella's health. I am planning to visit the church tomorrow and hopefully bring Bella, if her colds will get better and the weather will cooperate. :-)

I hope and pray that every Catholic family will have a reflective Holy Week. We might spend it differently but let's not forget that the true meaning of the season is to remember how our Lord Jesus Christ suffered and died on the cross to save us from sins. As a Christian, this is to remind me and all of us to live the life that Christ wanted for us.

My Simple Birthday Celebration

I celebrated my birthday last Tuesday and I am a year older but of course a year wiser. Although I'm already 33 but I still feel like 23 years old. Bren was teasing me saying that I am just in denial about my age. Lol. I used to celebrate with friends and family at home during my birthdays but I was so tired to prepare this time specially with what our family have gone through a few weeks ago. I think I lost the energy to host a party and entertain guests. I am just too lazy to move lately.

For a change, we decided to have a family dinner in a restaurant at SM City. My father was hesitant to come with us at first, but I insisted telling him that the essence of that dinner is not the food but the presence of each family member making the celebrator important on her special day.

I'm busy with Bella and I wasn't able to capture all the food :-(

The dinner turned out great and everybody enjoyed it especially Macky who had the most share of food that night. We then take a little walk at a trade fair near SM car park for Mama to buy some flowers for her garden and on our way home, we spent a while to see the Statue of David, one of the city's landmark.

We are all tired but went home happy especially our little girl who's last visit to the mall was when she's still 5 months old. Poor baby. I thank the Lord for giving me a complete and loving family. I just pray for good health for all of us especially for my father who have just undergone a major operation.

Meet The Coffee Chic

Blogging has changed my life in so many ways especially when I became a full-time homemaker. It allows me to reach the world and meet true and genuine people who in turn became my real friends. Friends I met in the blogosphere are seldom seen personally but I can really feel the warmth of their friendship and that's where I draw strength and inspiration when the world is not on my side.

Some few months ago, Bren and I were invited to one of my best blogpal's home to attend her brother's birthday. We are touched with the gesture because being invited in one's home made us feel important and even grateful considering that I only met this blogpal once during the blogger's party last December and take note... it's not her birthday but her brother's =)...

We enjoyed the food and the company because this blogpal and her family warmly welcome us in their home even giving more importance to us than their other visitors. The food served during the party are all delicious especially her mom's home made chocolate cake. Sorry, haven't had the chance to take some pictures on the food. =(

Aldo and Alda

If you have read my post about Tommy's birthday presents to Bren, then you would have heard about Aldo. And now, I want you to meet Aldo, Bren's little baby aside from Bella but definitely not Bella's brother or whatever lol. Aldo and Alda are actually one of the symbols of Bren and Tommy's friendship.

I really don't understand why Bren bought Aldo in the first place although he said that Aldo is unique. He bought Aldo in a mall when he attended a seminar in Manila last 2010. We gave him the name Aldo from Bren's first name Romualdo. After Aldo, there's Romy also a mechanical orangutan toy from Tommy but due to his cuteness and walking talent, he's nowhere to be found courtesy of either Bella or Yoshi. Bren, was actually furios upon knowing it but what can he do? Babies love to play with toys =).

And now again, Tommy gave Aldo another sister whom we called Alda. Aldo and Alda are now Bren's companion inside his car which also has a name. Just don't mind the car's name but for now, I would leave you with Aldo and Alda to look after while I am away. I still need to attend to my father's needs in the hospital for the next few days.

Have you been to Chicago? I bet a lot of you have already visited this city. I am asking because I have never been there but dreaming to visit that city someday. It is because of this dream that lead me to research about the place. Birthday Presents from Tommy

Bren celebrated his 40th birthday surrounded by friends and family who loved him dearly. His big day was made even special by Tommy who gave him a bottle of Tanduay Rum (their nightly buddy), an ID holder with special print which I like the most and a stuff toy (pink little monkey) whom we called Alda in which Bella get to hold first. Alda has now become Aldo's adopted little sister. Wondering who Aldo is?

Tommy also gave Bren 2 sets of extra guitar strings. In case you do not know, Bren and Tommy both share the love for music. Both of them can sing and play guitar very well but Tommy is exceptional because he can write, arrange and play original songs. Yes, he is really into music and a true musician.

Thank you again, Tommy and Ate Claire for making Bren's 40th birthday extra special. By the way, the Tanduay left during the party that night was re-sealed and kept by Bren for you to consume on your next vacation here in the Philippines and we pray that it's going to be sooner for we miss all of you already :( .

Whitney Houston dies at 48

I saw ABS-CBN's ASAP giving tribute to the legendary Whitney Houston and I can't help but feel sad about what happened to her who has been said to be "the greatest of all time" in the music industry. The singer was found dead last Saturday in Beverly Hilton, Los Angeles at around 3:20AM PST. The cause of her death was not yet revealed and it is still under investigation. This incident gathered different reactions from fans and friends all over the world.

I am personally affected by this news because she was one my favorite singers in the whole wide world. At the age 48, a lot of good and bad things have been said about Whitney but the truth will always remain that she has the genuine talent that was beyond compare. I will always be thankful for the life of Whitney because I was somehow blessed by her talent.

Goodbye Whitney! Thank you for sharing your talent to the world. You will forever be in our hearts.

Replacing Car Windshield

Having a car is convenient especially when there is a family emergency just like when we brought Bella to the hospital a few days ago. That was one of the time wherein I am so thankful for having a car ready to take us anytime and anywhere without the hassle of waiting. But the downside of having a car is its maintenance. Friends Worth Keeping

I admit that am a bit choosy when it comes to friends. I don't want to invest much emotion on friends because I know that they come and go, but if I the person is worth keeping I don't even give a second thought about it. I would prefer having few but true friends than having a lot but some are not true and can only remember when they need something from you.

I am glad that among the friends I consider in my previous work, I have these persons whom I can say my true and loyal allies, Julz and Exper.

Exper and Julz...

For professional and personal reasons, I don't usually make friends with people at work but Julz and Exper are an exemption. They are actually my workmates who became allies which in turn became my good friends. They are almost a family to me. I am not afraid of showing them I care because I know that they are worth keeping and the friendship that we have will surely go a long way.

I thank the Lord for people like them and I am very blessed to have them as friends. I am happy knowing that they have the same love, respect and admiration for me as I have for them. Thank you so much guys for your friendship.

Watching Live Concerts

My husband and I have been talking about our previous experiences watching live concerts during our college days. How we so enjoyed it especially when our common favorite filipino rock band Eraserheads are the one playing on stage. Most of the time, concert goers went wild during the performance and it is a good thing that crowd control devices are available to keep everyone safe.

To be further kept apart from the crowd, we usually avail tickets near the stage which are only separated by a stanchions so watching the concerts becomes more exciting. Although ticket prices are a bit higher compared with the standard rate, it was okay because in that manner we get to enjoy the show and at the same time feeling a little safer near the front stage.

One thing I noticed during most concerts aside from the usual barricades, are the velvet rope which are installed in the event venue which in a way controls the crowd. I believe that utilizing equipment like the ones I saw in the concert generally keeps the event more organized.

A Treasured Friendship

I am so thankful that Flo took an effort to see me during her Davao Trip. There's a lot of stories to tell and a lot of old memories to remember but time didn't allow us to do so but what is important is we have finally saw each other after sixteen years. Yes, sixteen long years of not seeing each other but we have managed to keep our friendship intact.

I believe that there are friendship that lasts a lifetime and one of those is ours. I think no words can best describe our friendship but the title of this post. This is actually a borrowed phrase from Flo's blog post about this reunion. Thank you friend. Hope to see you again soon. I love you.

CDO Vacation: Lunch With My Bestfriends

We arrived in Cagayan de Oro two days before Yoshi's birthday last November. My sister asked for my assistance in shopping some of the stuff for Yoshi's 2nd birthday celebration a day after our arrival. While doing some shopping, my best friend Lucille called me and decided to join us for lunch. I was overjoyed upon seeing her because it has been years since our last meeting.

Most of the party favors can be found somewhere in Cogon so we decided to meet at the nearby McDonald's in Ororama. Since my sister just tagged me along, it gives me an excuse not to shell out any penny for our lunch.Lol! I think the lunch was courtesy of them both... ;)

We super enjoyed our time together catching up over lunch. Lucille and I have been friends since our first year in college in 1995. Try do the math so you'll know how many years we have been together as friends. We practically hang out everyday during college days and to save me some extra bucks for food, she would invite me to stay at their house for a few days. Her whole family have in fact became my second family in Cagayan de Oro.

The time with my best friends didn't end up after lunch because Lucille decided to come with us at home to spend some extra bonding time. We surely miss each other a lot! That afternoon, we talked about a lot of things from the past, the present, the future and everything we can think of. I find great joy seeing her happily married with the man she loves and being blessed with two lovely daughters who are consistently making them proud of their achievements in school.

I was so shocked to see my Adgitize ads today stating that Adgitize is closing. I immediately checked and log in into my Adgitize account and I was just greeted by the post that says that indeed adgitize is closing. Adgitize have stopped showing ads since the 1st day of January this year. The announcement was made by Mr. Ken Brown last December 27, 2011. Adgitize's website will only serve its publishers and advertisers until the 31st of January 2012.

It saddens me to see Adgitize go because it really generates traffic for my blogs. I was once an advertiser and advertising with Adgitize really worked for me. Now that that adgitize is closing and previously the CMF Ads; as a blogger, the only venue left for me to promote my blog now is through Entrecard. I guess it's time to get serious with dropping ECs now that Adgitize is gone.

Goodbye 2011, Hello 2012

There are a lot of things to be thankful for about the year 2011. I could not put all of them in just one blog post but generally my life and my family are very blessed to surpass the challenges that the year 2011 brought us. The whole family have been blessed with good health and also there are numerous projects that me and hubby have completed.

I am really busy today but I couldn't let this day pass without making a post. For me, this day is very special and also a very important one because this is the very first day of the year 2012.This day symbolizes new hope and new future that 2012 will bring. I am so excited for the new year because I am so looking forward to everything new... new life, new work, new plans and all the good news there is to it.

I know there is a lot more to expect and to ask for this 2012 but for now this is all that I am so excited about. I hope that all of you guys share the same feeling about the new year.

I am very sure that most of us if not all, wanted to go somewhere for a vacation. A memorable and exciting vacation are usually spent with friends and family. One challenging task in planning for a vacation is looking for a place to stay.
