SHALL WE CONTINUE IN SIN?

When Paul first taught the truth of justification by faith, it shook the

church. It was incredible news at that time. In fact, some theologians

responded, "If I'm pardoned, if God is so merciful to forgive me freely by

faith alone, then let me sin even more, so God can enjoy giving me more grace!"

Those theologians did not understand the gospel.

Because of the cross, God considered everything about our old flesh-man done

away with. Paul asked, "Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?"

(Romans 6:1) and he continued quickly, “Certainly not!" I believe Paul was

saying, "Why would any Christian, having been set free from such death, go back

and resurrect the corpse? Why go back to a life of sin when God wants to take

away all guilt and condemnation and give you security and peace? Now, because

of the cross, you can serve the Lord with joy and gladness and obey Him in a

new obligation called love."

"So," you ask, "are we simply to take by faith the righteousness of Jesus?"

Yes, absolutely! That is what the Christian walk is all about—resting by faith in what Jesus accomplished. Our old man is dead, and the new Man is Jesus. When we put our faith in Him, God fully accepts us. He considers us righteous, hidden in the bosom of His dear Son. So whenever you sin or fail, run quickly to your Lawyer, your Advocate. Confess your failures to Him, and rest in His righteousness.

You may ask, "Don't good works have any place in this doctrine?" Of course they

do, but on this condition: Good works cannot save you, justify you or make you

righteous or acceptable to God. The only thing that saves you is your faith in

what Jesus did!

What did Jesus do? He saved you, pardoned you and accepted you in the

beloved—sins, failures and all. God sees you now only in Jesus Christ and

that is why we must come to our Savior every time we fall. The blood that

forgave and cleansed us the first time we came to Jesus is the same blood

continues to keep us until He returns.

Along with this security comes a higher obligation of doing all our works in

His strength and power rather than trying to do them on our own. "If by the

Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live" (Romans 8:13).

Week 3 Micro Braids: Kid's Style

We managed to keep the braids for three weeks and we are still going..lol. I am loving mini braids.. yes, they take forever to install and take out , but once they are installed , they can be worn

like forever( just kidding) but for at least a month. I have been cowashing her hair once a week with Curly Q's Coconut Dream Moisturizing Conditioner. That conditioner is just perfect for toddlers and little girls. It is not heavy on her fine hair and it keeps her braids nice and soft.

I apply Kinky Curly Knot Today and Coconut oil before applying the custard to enhance the curls at the ends of her braids.

Last week, her braids were cornrowed as pictured below to give the ends a break.

Braid Twist Out: Sunday Hair

I am not promising regular posts on "Sunday Hair" as I am still on my challenge. But I love these braids and have been wearing them out since I installed them. I decided to put them in about 20 twists or so while they were wet and unraveled the twists, once my hair was completely dry, for a braid twist out.

I really enjoy wearing braids now that my hair is a bit longer. I have only had them for two weeks and plan on keeping them for another 4 weeks.

My hair did not hang as much as it did with the kinky curly custard but it appeared fuller.

Product Review: Kinky Curly Curling Custard

As promised in my last hair post, here is my review of the product that helped enhance my natural curls. I tried the K-K Curling Custard when I first went natural in 2007, however, I really did not know what I was doing, so I cannot make any comparisons or updates. I decided to try this product to curl the ends of my braids, because the last time I wore braids

This was a month after I chopped off my colored ends, to start a new healthy journey

the ends were quite frizzy.

My hair curls easily with water and conditioner but after it dries, it tends to get frizzy. Kinky Curly Custard tames the frizzes and elongates my curls, preventing shrinkage. How awesome is that! A little goes a long way. After three days, I re-wet my hair (with water and aloe vera juice) and seal with oil. This product lasts in my hair for an entire week. It also washes out easily with just conditioner. It leaves no residue , build up and flakes. It also seems to seal in moisture. The first time I applied it , it left my hair crunchy, only because, I applied too much, however, I found out that re-wetting my hair corrects that. The company advises that their pomade be used to correct the "crunch", but using any oil can do that for you, in my opinion.

Side Note:

I also used Knot today (mixed with Aloe Vera Juice and Coconut oil), before applying the custard. I use Aloe Vera Juice in all my products because it helps keep my hair stretched and elongated. My curls show better when products used in my hair are acidic( 4.5)

I highly recommend this if you want to see your curls elongated and defined. Please know that I embrace my natural curls and I see nothing wrong with enhancing my curls with a product that helps it look better without the frizzes, and prevent knotting as my curls are elongated.

Also, the product is not only for "Wash n Go", it can be used to enhance the curls at the endss of your braids and twists.

What is the unforgivable sin?

Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is the unforgivable sin. There are in reality two unforgivable sins.

1. Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. It is an eternal sin.

2. Unrepented sins are unforgivable, however, the opportunity to repent is always available.

BLASPHEMY AGAINST THE HOLY SPIRIT.

Mark 3:22-30 The scribes who came down from Jerusalem were saying, "He is possessed by Beelzebul" and "He casts, out demons by the ruler of the demons." ........28 :Truly I say to you, all sins shall be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they utter; 29 but who ever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin" ---30 because they were saying, "He has an unclean spirit."

The sin of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, was that they were saying Jesus was casting out demons by the power of Satan, rather than by the power of the Holy Spirit.

UNFORGIVABLE SIN TWO:

UNREPENTED SINS OF NON-CHRISTIANS .

Sins not repented, of, cannot be forgiven.(Luke 24:47 and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all nations , beginning from Jerusalem.)(Acts 2:38..Repent...)This repentance means to turn from sin and make the commitment to turn toward God. John 8:24 'Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am He, you will die in your sins." Jesus said men have to repent of their unbelief or they would die in their sins. UNREPENTED SIN IS UNFORGIVABLE!

Mark 16:16 He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved.....(John 3:16, 1 Peter 3:21)

To refused to believe and be baptized so you can be saved, is sin. UNREPENTED SIN IS UNFORGIVABLE!

Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; To not acknowledge Jesus as Lord and believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus is sin. UNREPENTED SIN IS UNFORGIVABLE. These unrepented sins can be repented of in a hour or less.

UNREPENTED SINS OF CHRISTIANS.

Men are saved at the point of water baptism, if faith, repentance, and confession precede baptism; however, repentance does not end at baptism. Salvation is not a licence to sin.

Galatians 5:19-21 Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, 21 envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

UNREPENTED SIN IS UNFORGIVABLE!

Update on my hair: A challenge in a challenge

I started a challenge back in November and I am still on it. However, I changed things up a lttle bit. The reason I am on this type of challenge is to reduce the manipulation of my hair, which tends to break easily from excessive manipulation. I did not style my hair for six weeks, I strictly followed the rules of the challenge. As a matter of fact, I have been wearing wigs ( as seen in my makeup posts), as a protective style, more than I thought I would. Click HERE to see the details.

But then, I started to miss my hair and put it in micro braids last week. I am still on the challenge and will be keeping the braids in for 6 weeks. Box Braids are easier on my hair than micro twists, so I am not expecting my hair to get tangled up at it would with twists. I have a post coming up on a product I used to get the ends curly. By the way, my daughter and I are rocking curly micro braids right now!

You may have had these thoughts:

"I try to be a good person and am nice. I do not steal or kill and do obey most of the ten commandments."

Sometimes we feel like something is missing even when everything seems to be in place financially and relationship wise. Relationships, even the good ones leave you with a hole or a void that only God can fill. It feels like there is someone you have not met or something you have not done. Something is not right but you keep looking to find and fix things. You may have even tried more drastic ways of dulling your pain through sex, drinking, buying new things, meeting the right crowd, etc. And despite trying these things, there is still something missing. So where do you go from here?

The void we feel has to do with the incompleteness between us and God. No matter how "good" we think we are , without a relationship with Him we feel empty.

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. (John 14:6 NLT)

Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30 NLT)
“Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends. Those who are victorious will sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat with my Father on his throne. “Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches.” (Revelation 3:20-22 NLT)

Mini Single Curly Braids :Children's Style

I think the winter season is the best time to give our hair a break by doing long term protective styles. That's one of the reasons I put little L's hair in mini braids, which I hoping will last for a month.We are also taking a break from the beads. They are harmless to little L's hair but I just want to give her ends a break for a month or so.

The Process;

Her hair was cowashed and sealed with Kinky curly Knot today (mixed with Aloe Vera Juice and coconut oil).
Once her hair was dried in 8 flat twists, I placed an off center part in the front of her hair and put single braids following that direction
About 1/4 of an inch of her ends were left out.

I sprayed her hair with water mixed with aloe vera juice and coconut oil, added a little knot today and the curling custard, to enhance her curls
Once her hair was dry, I applied very little olive oil to the ends.

Night Routine:
Her braids are moisturized and the ends are sealed with oil. I then cornrow the braids to keep them stretched. The ends have to stay stretched, if not , they will tangle and break off.

Being a new creation in Christ means we have been renewed and made into something better. If we stay steadfast in our relationship with him, he will continue to do his work in us till we completely hate sin.

Since we have been raised to new life in Christ, we should set ouselves on things that are of Him and heavenly in nature. Our real lives are hidden in Christ because we have died to this life.

Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him. And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful. (Colossians 3:10, 15 NLT)

GOD IS A JEALOUS LOVER

“For the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God” (Exodus 34:14).

Yes, it is possible for us to provoke Him to jealousy: “Do we provoke the

Lord to jealousy?” (1 Corinthians 10:22). Paul is asking: “You have

testified that you love Him. You’ve even taken His name. Yet, has someone or

something else stolen your heart?”

You can say you love Jesus; you can go to church every time the doors are open.

But do you seek Him when your time is your own?

How many books, magazines and newspapers do you devour? How much TV and

radio gets your attention—and yet you never give a thought to spending time with

Christ?

Preachers search their Bibles for sermons. Sunday school teachers study it for

lessons. But why do we not turn to it for recreational reading, to be refreshed

by our Lord? Why don’t we open it to learn of Him, to love Him?

The Bible is Jesus—God’s own Word! It is the full revelation of His heart;

everything about Him is unmasked there. I would think that if you truly love

Him, if you expect to spend eternity as His bride, then you would want to learn

everything possible about Him!

Our Lord yearns after us, wanting our time and attention. Yet He sees us

spending all our time on other people and other things and that makes Him

jealous! The day is coming when His jealousy will “burn” against those who

turn to vain idols (Deuteronomy 29:20). It will burst into flames of judgment!

Beloved, when that day comes, I know you want Jesus to take your hand and

whisper, “At last we’re together! You have desired Me so. You have given Me

the best of your life, your time, your attention. Come, now—let us be one!”

How will you stand before Him on that day? Everything of this world is going to

burn. But what about your intimacy with Him? Will you be able to stand before

Him knowing you shut out the world and cried out that you wanted to know Him?

Check out this tutorial by Khamit Kinks. It is a gorgeous updo and protective style. It favors those with longer hair but I am pretty sure that hair can be added to achieve the same look for those with shorter hair.

Children's Style: Cornrowed Mohawk with front beads

She is wearing a Mohawk with front beads. And she turned 3 yesterday.... yes..she is New Year's Baby!!
Her last style was worn for three weeks (can u believe it?). Her hair is growing nicely and the fact that her hair is manipulated less is helping a great deal.

The Style
I chose this style to improve the condition of her hair. If you noticed , there are no ends left out. This way, her ends are protected from herself (she pulls her hair but she does not touch the beads, don't know why) and getting dry. I know from experience, with my hair and my little one's, that ends left out, dry quicker than ends tucked in.Her hair stays moisturized for a longer period of time as all the hair strands are contained in cornrows and the ends are hidden.

I have also fallen in love with using beads in her hair but I have to be careful with that as excessive bead usage can lead to breakage. I opted for big ones that are 100% harmless to her fine hair, and also used them in the front only. The beads were not laying down completely flat so I used those black plastic ribbon barrettes, to keep them down.

One thing about fine hair is that it is really fragile and breaks easily, so leaving that type of hair alone is very important if you want some length, at least till you get the length you want. This is why I keep her styles for two to three weeks at a time, and I see wonderful results compared to when I was washing her hair every week. I also have hair tied down 99% of the time, since she is not in school yet (she will be going to school by the grace of God in September of this year). So that helps keep her hair neat.

Routine:

1).Daily Moisture (Water mixed with coconut oil, aloe vera juice and vegetable glycerin).
2). Tie down with a scarf and silk bonnet when we are not out. She has really gotten used to having her hair covered.
