Short Biography:

The R&B all female funk band KLYMAXX is KLYMAXXTIC! Still going strong their music is a staple on the radio and in dance clubs around the world. Belting out hits like, “The Men All Pause” and “Meeting in the Ladies Room” the group’s name is synonymous with classic women’s anthems. Their beautiful ballad, “I Miss You”, was Billboard Magazine’s #3 song of 1986 and still to this day is played when love is in the air. Continuing into the 90’s with the #4 R&B hit, “Good Love” followed their sultry Neo-Soul groove entitled, “Private Party” showed evident that they could flow with the changing music trends.

Much of the group’s success can be credited to Cheryl Cooley, Co-founder and original member. She has personally nurtured the group’s unique sound by overseeing the infusion of 80’s funk with a modern swag.

Her enthusiasm and vision have transformed KLYMAXX into a leaner meaner entity producing live music that delivers dynamic vocals and uncompromised grooves. These ladies are serious about entertaining their fans and continuing with the KLYMAXX legacy. Check out their web site: Klymaxx.com;

CHAIRMEN OF THE BOARD BIOGRAPHY

Ken Knox: When Ken Knox was 12 years of age, he went to the Motown Revue at the Fox Theater in Detroit with friends and became fascinated by the Music and the “Stars” on the stage such as, The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Supremes, Bobby Taylor and the Vancouver's, Junior Walker, and The All Stars.

After that experience, Ken picked up his brother Leonard's sax and he eventually taught himself how to play that instrument. This led to Knox joining a group called The Impacts and performing in clubs and bars around Detroit. Subsequently, the meeting with Danny Woods from Chairmen of the Board in 1973 which finished up with Ken and his group bringing the House Down with Woods.

Before the chance encounter with Woods, Ken did a short stint touring as a musician with the Detroit Emeralds, and Former Ohio Player— Walter Junie Morrison.

2018 UK LIVE TOUR DATES

Noteworthy: The Chairmen of the Board have given us great music for many year, including the Hits "Give Me Just A Little More Time" and "Pay to the Piper;" Plus, some of the finest "Carolina Beach Music" You'll Ever Hear. In 2010, Lead Singer General Johnson Passed Away.....But, The Band ‘Plays On...’ The ‘New’ Chairmen Of The Board, includes ‘Original Member’ Ken Knox along with Thomas Hunter and Richie Figueroa. Enjoy their single called "You." Please also note that this is the group's first release after "The General's" death.

THE CHAIRMEN OF THE BOARD

The Chairmen Of The Board: With one of Soul Music's all-time great group names, the Chairmen of the Board have pleased music lovers for over 30 years. Formed in Detroit, the Chairmen were one of the first acts signed by songwriting legends Holland, Dozier & Holland for their Invictus label following H/D/H's messy divorce from Motown. The group came out of the box strong in 1970 with the wonderful "Give Me Just A Little More Time," a classic early 70's radio smash highlighted by lead singer General Johnson's emotive, plaintive vocals. "Give Me" was the foundation of the group's excellent debut album, which also featured the infectious "(You've Got Me) Dangling on a String.”

Over the years, the Chairmen of the Board General Johnson, Danny Woods and Ken Knox were among Soul Music's most consistent hit makers, scoring big with "Pay to the Piper," "Finders Keepers," "Chairman of the Board," and the blissful "Everything's Tuesday" and "Carolina Girls On the Beach.”

The Chairmen continued to record with moderate success, scoring a surprise hit in Europe in the early 2000's with the joyous "Bless Your Heart," a great tune and performance that sounds like it was plucked from their Early 70's catalog.

Group leader General Johnson died on October 13, 2010 at age 67. At the request of General Johnson to keep the group's legacy strong, 40 year member Ken Knox continues to lead the group touring with new members Thomas Hunter and Brandon Stevens and a 6 piece backing band known as The Executives.
Two years later, Swiffer Jet used the group's timeless hit "Give me just a Little More Time" in a popular commercial for the company. The Group also released their first single post General Johnson" YOU" to an enthusiastic Fan Base stateside and across the pond.

In 2015, the group scored a # 5 record on the UK Soul Charts with "Reach Out 2 Me" written by Thomas Hunter, Ken Knox with Production from famed UK Producer Nigel Lowis.

The past few years, The NFL Carolina Panthers have featured the group in video singing the team’s theme song and a Half Time Performance. The Carolina Panthers continues to play their music during home games.

Chairmen of the Board are members of the North and South Carolina Music Hall of Fame.

Update: Chairmen of the Board finished a Successful two weeks Tour of the UK in September 2016.

Danny Woods, recently died at the age of 73. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Woods' family, friends, band mates, and all those fans who loved him dearly. RIP!

Martisen "MartyTheGreatest" Harmon

He is a multi-talented and prolific singer, songwriter, and rapper, born and raised in the Lower Ninth Ward in the beautiful City of New Orleans, Louisiana. Being the youngest of a family of eight, it was hard for young Marty to find his niche, something that would distinguish him from his sisters and brothers. However at a very young age, it became evident to his parents that he had a profound talent and love for music. This was expected because a few of his siblings were musically talented. By the age of four young Marty had taught himself how to play the drums, and as he got older, he played for famous gospel stars such as, Vanessa Bell Armstrong.

At age 12, he started writing songs, and raps, but his writing wasn't taken seriously until he and his brother Elf (Lavell) formed a group with their cousin Greg that they called V.I.P. Marty wrote all the chorus for the group's songs and they had much success, even made front page coverage of the local newspaper for the Natchez Democrat in Natchez, Mississippi. They also had their tribute song to New Orleans titled "Where I'm From" which played on Q93.3 on the First Anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, and had another popular song titled "Weekday, Weekend Love" that played on the Baton Rouge former radio station Power 97.

As the result of finding success from those two songs, Marty went on to expand his talent, which includes writing more songs for local acts and partnered with IMN Radio (Inspirational Music Network) to create the format for a spiritual young adult show tilted “T.E.A.M. T.A.G.” where he served as the Host, created the content, scheduled guest appearances, and managed the personnel of the show during his tenure with the network. Also during his tenure, he organized various live broadcasts for the network which led him to co-organizing many other events such as the “Fresh Wit My Jesus Youth Explosion,” which he help to organize with IGOTFLO Productions an Event Organizing/Video Production company.

Through Marty's partnership with IGOTFLO, he has co-produced commercials directed Christian Hip-Hop artist, Jeremiah The Prophet's music video for the song “Repentance,” which Marty also co-wrote. Marty has written jingles for fitness companies, charities, and churches, as well.

Marty "The Greatest," is a complete artist: singer, rapper, and songwriter who continues to improve his artistry. Currently, he is an engineer/co-host for the Internet radio show “KS Radio Show,” based in Cincinnati, Ohio. And, he is working on his debut Gospel/Christian Hip-Hop EP “New era” set to be released Nov. 17, 2017. In addition, Marty and his wife have just recently started their own company “2GBTG Enterprises,” which is a creation and development company.
Who is "Marty The Greatest?"

... experiences, work ethics, and connections obtained from working on countless projects have prepared him to be a solo artist that will undoubtedly help 2GBTG Enterprises make a positive impact in the entertainment community and the world.

Dyshae Delvillar

A twenty-four year-old gospel singer, born in Anchorage, Alaska on March 26, 1993, but shortly there afterwards, moved to the wind city of Chicago, Illinois. While living in Chicago, she was literally at church from Tuesday through Sunday. She says "Seems like I was at church everyday of the week with my grandmother, the great Evangelist Rosa Lee Anderson." She further states that "My grandmother made sure that I was living in the truth that was instilled in me as a little girl."

When Dyshae was about ten years old, she moved to Magnolia, Mississippi where her biggest transition in life took place.

Here's Dyshae's story in her own words:

"When I was about 17 years old, I was attending Jubilee Performing Arts Center where I ran across my leader/brother Kalvin Jackson. We had been knowing each other for years, but when I saw him this time, I asked him if he was looking for any Altos in his group Kalvin Jackson & Unlimited Authority? From that day, I have been a committed member since.

Eight years later, I am still singing with this same group of talented young adults. We got the name Kalvin Jackson and Unlimited Authority from Genesis 1:26 [God said, Let Us [Father, Son, and Holy Spirit] make mankind in Our image, after Our likeness, and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the [tame] beasts, and and over all the earth, and over everything that creeps upon the earth.] God has given us the complete Authority to go into the world and possess the land and in Him there are NO LIMITS! We have traveled to several different locations in the lower states and God continues to open doors daily. Soon our single “Thank You Jesus” will be released very soon so you guys just stay tuned in!!"

Verno & Nena B Live! Saturday, July 22 on Crescent City Radio

2017-07-21T23:54:00.001-05:00

LOUISIANA'S NENA B & VERNO VAUGHN 'TURN UP' THE HEAT!

NENA B

Biography:

My name is Shaniqua Bernard. I'm better known as Nena B or Nena Bernard which ever is preferred. I was born to Veronica & Ray Lewis on September 26, 1993. I have a passion for music and dancing! Back in 2008- 2009, I had a dance team called 'Classy Shakers,' it was my two sisters Ra'shawn and Ary'shuna. Ever since then, I have really been into music and dancing.

I started recording my music in November of 2016 and it has been on the train to success. I really love what I do and, how it is going. I'm hungry for music! Everything hasn't been all sweet but, it has been well worth it. I believe in anything that "you have to work for." If you don't work for it, you don't appreciate it as much. I love working in the music and dancing industry.

My goals with my music is "to make it to the top and keep inspiring the youth that they can do anything that they put their minds to." I'm a universal artist. I take pride in that because everyone isn't able to do that. I'm known as a bounce artist in my hometown but, I do all different types of music.

I just want to continue doing music and I would like to prosper from my music. I would like to give back if I am to make it really big in the music industry. I would love to inspire each and every young person in life and around me.

VERNO VAUGHN

Biography:

My name is Lavern Vaughn Jr., better known as Verno or Verno Vaughn, your choice. I was born and raised in Pike County in Mc Comb, Mississippi. Growing up in Mississippi, I was living in an ordinary trailer and ordinary life. But, I had a different imagination, seeking different dreams, wanting to become different.

My mother’s name is Bertha Vaughn and father’s name is Lavern Vaughn Sr. I have a 7 year old son named Jashawn Markell Snowdon. And, I'm in a relationship with Charada Engram as of the present time. I graduated from South Pike High School in 2010.

Later, I left Mississippi and went to Louisiana, the City of Hammond to be exact. It was there, I started a new path to a new destiny. Just like any other city or neighborhood, everything was still the same. The difference was the speed of time. Opportunity would knock on the door faster than it would in Mississippi. I love my state and my city. But, you know how that goes...

As time went by, I met new people, started recording new tracks, studying the culture of Hammond and where I can approach my appearance as an artist. My first big single was ‘Turn Me Up a Little Turn Me Up A Lot with various artists. The Djs started spinning it and word of mouth took its place. So, I caught a lil buzz and started working on other projects. Over Time, I elevated and sharpened my skills as an artist. I started off as co-owner of a music label YBN as producer/artist.

Now, I am co-owner of music label OMG PRODUCTIONS, entertainment that will make you say OH MY GOSH!!! My partner is Ms. Charada Engram, who is also my Manager/Stylist/Promoter. For booking Contact: 225-993-1910. Stay Tuned for more Updates about Me!

Meet the Artists

Renegade JR

Whats good world!!! My name is Demilo Graves also known as Renegade JR. My home is New York City, second home is Louisiana. Growing up I saw a lot of things that a kid should never see. They say what doesn't kill you makes you stronger so instead of succumbing to the negativity I found an outlet in music. I wrote my first line when I was 13 and the world hasn't been the same since. My team is my family and we all come from different walks of life. My music is a reflection of me. So, with that being said, I hope you enjoy the music. God Bless and thanks for listening.

Interview with Ceddy King: Master Writer, Artist, Author, Poet, and Publisher

2017-06-30T09:55:00.003-05:00

Cedric Daniel Simmons better known as Ceddy King is a master writer, artist, author, poet, and publisher. As a writer and author he has written and self published seven poetry books, and produced and recorded an audio book/spoken word album.

Ceddy is the President and CEO of his own company Real Will Publishing and a Co-owner of MOB (Most Official Black) Empire Inc. He is also an avid reader and a videographer.

Biography

Originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, Ceddy was born April 9th 1990. He grew up about 20 minutes from the city of New Orleans in Harvey, Louisiana. Ceddy completed and graduated from John Ehret High School in Marrero, La in 2010.

During his junior high school years is when he began to grow real interest in poetry and music. His first few poems where about his first girlfriend and love. His influences include Tupac Shakur, Bob Marley, Lauryn Hill, & Michael Jackson to name a few. At the age of 19 he recorded along side two of his childhood friends and put together a body of music entitled “III Kings”. Ceddy's first solo musical release was a mixtape called "Life Is A Movie" which dropped on Halloween of 2011. While music was not his only endeavor, he became a student of Delgado Community College in the fall of 2012, with the major of Business & Management.

Throughout his college days Ceddy began to read and write more frequently. Between 2012 and 2014, he started to switch his focus from a career in music to a career in writing. More specifically poetry. One of the reasons for this change was to take a different approach to writing lyrics and recording them. In the spring of 2014 Ceddy put his pen to the page and wrote his first book of poetry. It took him 9 days to complete the writing of the book including the contents, poems, introduction, etc. By him having some knowledge of business and management he formed his own company Real Will Publishing to self publish his own material. In November of 2014 “The Prelude” book of poetry was officially released through Real Will Publishing. It consisted of 15 original poems written by Ceddy King. The Prelude was put out as a physical book and as an EBook.

In the beginning of 2015 Ceddy enrolled in Real Estate school at Donaldson Educational Services. Ceddy completed his courses and officially became a licensed real estate salesperson in the state of Louisiana. He joined Keller Williams Realty shortly thereafter. In June of that same year Ceddy released his second self published book of poetry entitled “Koda”. The themes expressed in “Koda” range from creating, growth, dealing with individualism, and new beginnings. The fall of 2015 was a difficult period for Ceddy as his family, as he experienced the passing of his mother. It was a rough time and still is for him, but he is a strong willed and creative person, so naturally he expresses his pain, anger, joy, and laughter through his writings and recordings.

Ceddy King is a young entrepreneur with diverse talent. May 6, 2016 Ceddy released his first album/audio book “The Prelude”. In January 2017 he released 2 new books of poetry in e book format only, “Direction” and “A+ 100”. Also in February, Ceddy released another Ebook of poetry called “Novelty.” Ceddy is also involved in community activity and philanthropy. Ceddy has helped organize school supply giveaways for children, put together food supply and clothing giveaways for the homeless, and has done community clean ups in Louisiana with the other members of the MOB (Most Official Black) Empire. Ceddy continues to write, read, and record on a consistent basis and plans to put out more projects and be apart of much more in the future.
