Recently Electrix showed us their new product the Tweaker... its a midi controller that emphasis on modern computer DJs and producer for full hands controls of what lies on their screen.. currently built to function eithin Ableton and traktor, but said to be useable for most DAWs soon... a company from Korea, Celluon, has recently released two great new products that uses infrared technology to replace the existing bulky keyboard, mouse, or the too small pads on your mobile device. Both of their products are light weight and mobile.

the Magic Cube is a virtual laser keyboard that shoots infrared keyboard layout onto opaque surfaces and also doubles as a multi touch mouse. it connects via bluetooth or usb and is compatible on Pc and Mac.. the funny thing is that its not really in a cube shape.haha

Native Instruments Traktor Kontrol X2

recently at NAMM 2012, Native Instruments have leaked few pictures and a video (below), for their latest controller.. it was previously leaked out with lots of details on it at DJ Tech Tools site, but was removed recently..

and it really looks like (FX2) concept model one of DJTT forum user portrayed.

this new device is the Traktor Kontrol X2.

it's a midi controller best paired with Traktor Kontrol X1 due to the smart linking system and will be used with Traktor (updated / new).

the shape and size is very much similar to the X1, but the X2 comes with:

16 RGB backlit pads
12 command pads

5 rotary knobs

4 sliders

as the sneak peek video below shows, Traktor must be updated to intergrate with the new hardware features.. with more clips to be assignable for loops and samples.. and hopefully more effects (FX) comes with it for those knobs.

Native Instruments/ Traktor will be revealing the Native Instruments Traktor Kontrol X2 by Spring 2012..

till then, we'll keep guessing :D

Lumus DK- 32 wearable display

Lumus recently revealed an idea they created and was showed at ces 2012.. the DK- 32 wearable display that looks like a normal rectangular glasses with somewhat bigger sides for the Optical Engine Module (OEM) to hang onto. the OEM weighs at 26g.

the glasses is kind of a one way image projector only for the wearer.. being displayed as a 720P 1280 x 720 3D image infront of your eyes, but what is actually being seen is equivalent of a 87 inch screen at 10 ft away; 870" at 100 ft away.

the OEM projects its images onto the [ Light- guide Optical Element (LOE) ] glasses. a smart glass that reflects the light from the OEM towards your eye but still giving you a 78% transparent view, so you'll still be able to look what's infront of you in real life.

the main idea of their project showing at ces 2012 is towards bigger companies that wants to incooperate this technology with theirs
