Wow, it's been like ... 3 months since our last post?
Definitely one trait of what we can call 'laziest blogger ever', not saying we're proud of it. But whether it's a week, a month, a year (hope not!), we're still here typing from this one corner of the world. Let's applause for that LOL.
Now, we don't think you'd like to hear our sappy stories on how school has been 'torturing' us with homeworks, assignments, more homeworks, more assingments. But we'd tell you about another shopping trip!

So last September, as autumn started to drive summer away in China, Castor Pollux and Mom went on a trip to Guangzhou, Shenzhen and never forget, Hongkong. Well, P has visited Shenzhen and its infamous Dongmen Shopping Street before, but it wasn't as fun as when you're with your freaky sister and your generous mother!

that's Ayumi Hmasaki whom we accidentally saw at the HK airport. my, she's a really friendly superstar.

Shopping spots worth-visiting

Guangzhou, not a place for high-end brand seekers but definitely a must-visit for you street-style lovers out there!

Baima Fashion Mall : looking from the name of the place itself, you know what you can get there. lotsa leggings, tops, dress, more leggings, more tops, more dress...

Guangzhou Shoes City : hold back the tears, 'cause all those oh-my-that's-so-unique-and-cool shoes/wedges/sneakers/boots/heels are sold at ONLY around USD 2.5...if you buy at least 5 pairs! which leads us to a conclusion that this is the place for shoes re-sellers

Wanglin Plaza a.k.a One Link Plaza (its weird how they force an english name for the place) : not a place for fashion, but there are so many to buy here e.g super cute notebook, handmade keychains, unique socks, various cloth bag and so many other things.

Beijing Lu : the IT place to be, needless to say it's where the crowds of Guangzhou are! lots and lots of casual wear shops, international restaurants, and not to forget food stalls that sells cold drink and skewers.
Beware though. The skewers usually contain chicken liver, seahorses, mini octopus (there are such thing as cute little octopus!) and also some normal skewers, like chicken, prawns, BBQ meat. Thank God.

Shenzhen, shop 'till you drop works here.

Dongmen Pedestrian Street : everything is so cheap here, we just bought every good things we could find and it totally exceeds our things-to-buy list. we're talking about heels, clothes, bottoms, hats from vintage and preppy-like to rocker style.

Luohu : the well-known tourist spot, so expect the prices to be a lot more expensive here. but with a pair of good eyes, you'll find many nice items here. We found a perfect small black cape with gold buttons, very rare to find in our country.
Have a note in mind, be a smart bargainer!

The thing is, we totally forgot where we bought those clothes. They're from some malls, but what's the names of those shops again? LOL yeah anyway bought those socks at a flea market in Shenzhen and the shoes (C's favorite) are from Zara. Who says expensive shoes are comfortable?

P recently got back from a shopping trip with our mom in Shenzhen. She left her lovely sister at home *sobs* . And since we're not a fan of labelled stuffs, we practically feel places that sell street-wear like Shenzhen, HK, Seoul, London are best cities to shop.

We had so much fun last summer holiday! Slept late, got up late, ate snacks, went to malls, non-stop browsing...basically slacked off everyday! We didn't go to any particular place, but we did go to Singapore for 'Beast 1st Asia Tour Fanmeeting'! Wow, for us it was one hell of unforgettable memories.

Both of us have always been fans of Beast, yes it's a name of yet another boyband (we can't help it, we've been affected by Korean Pop virus LOL) and finally last July we got to see them! The six boys are so much more handsome in person. *sigh* Why do Korean guys are so cute these days? (We used to made fun of 'em) But more than the fact that they are a bunch of really cool guys, we really like their songs! We'd really recommend one of their latest single entitled 'Fiction' (if you're also a Kpop addict like us, bet you also know the song well. And perhaps able to do the dance? LOL) It has a nice beats and the lyrics are so deeep...That's enough, if we wanted to talk about Beast, it'd take up to 24-hours. JK.

It's august and school's back. Argh, welcome to the era of science tyranny. Literally.
How we wish summer holiday never has to end...!

Psh, we still hate the fact that we didn't bring DSLR and had to use mom's old digital camera which doesn't even have sports mode!

A Long Pause In Need Is A Rest Indeed

As life goes on, it starts to feel more 'real' day by day. Sometimes, life feels like a bunch of repetitive activities, like you attend school and courses, hang out with your friends, go home, study, sleep, school again...
But hey, turns out it's not. Quoting Anna Wintour, "There is no typical day. Everyday is diferent, and that's why it's fun. Many things are routine, but you never really know what's going to happen." She's so true!

And so, fellow bloggers and readers Castor Pollux has decided to take a 3-month-hiatus, for school and education reason of course LOL. There are just so many things we have to do and so little time for blogging (perhaps you have noticed our last post was not our best).

Anyway we're not closing down the blog *wiping tears* so if anybody want a follow-back or link exchange just leave a comment on this post and for any offers, you can always email us at carliangsisters@gmail.com (blog maybe paused but email keeps rolling!)

Below are some pictures from the last Chinese Lunar Year, early in the February. We had so much fun that day! Wore new clothes, got a lot of 'angpaos' (which contain money btw), eat some nice food, attended the family gathering...Great day!

P loves the simple dark brown satchel her sister (which is C btw LOL) bought in Singapore at a very good price! And the sheer/stripe leggings, she's currently obsessed with quirky leggings.

While, C is in love with suspenders. She's been staring at those Zara red pants since its first released at store and finally our mom bought 'em for Chinese New Year! LOL Lunar Year surely brings good luck, no?
P.s that white loose top, we bought it for 10 HK$ which is pretty much equals to 1 US$! We love Hongkong!

First of all, let us greet you with 'С Новым годом/Happy New Year' dear readers and fellow bloggers! Hope it's not too late.
Here we are, in the new year with a new post and new old memories to remember.
Don't you just love new year? It's like another new page to fill and the great things is, if we put down many nice things there, it'd feel really good to recall when you flip back the page *sorry, sudden melancholy moment here*
Anyway, notice the two edited photos combined with clock graphics and circles? It was a sudden idea by P who lately into photo editing. Sadly, since both of us are 'blind' in Adobe Photoshop, we figure we try picnik and, uh... guess the pics don't turn out so bad, no?

A few post ago, we posted some pics from our trip to Sichuan-Hongkong. Guess what, last year-end holiday we went to Hongkong, again.
Can't help to smile when remembering this trip, it was a lot of fun! Better than Sichuan-HK, this time we also visited Macau (where we manage to see the inside look of casino even though we're not 18 yet, because some casinos there are turned into tourist destinations) and some awesome place in Hongkong.
We especially love the Victoria Peak and Avenue of Stars, where you can enjoy the beautiful modern city view of Hongkong while sipping Starbucks.
Ah, all those great times!

Looking at our last post date, we start to think we've become two lazy ~~bloggers~~, cross that two lazy girls would suit better LOL. Seriously we barely study or do homeworks these last few days, our minds only focus on one thing: h.o.l.i.d.a.y

Guten Tag!

It is always a great pleasure to be back blogging again, sitting here in front of the computer and thinking what to write on this post (at least it's one of those excuses to run away from the stress of overload assignments)
School is just as crazy as it can get, so many tests, so many home works. It's like a journey with so many challenge along the way. And like a journey, at some point you'll face an intersection. Guess that's what we're facing now, an intersection to decide which path we'd take for our future. Where would we be 10 years from now? It's a question that is still waiting to be answered, but let's put it aside and take a time to sit back. Enjoy the ride.

Not So Cold, Not So Hot

Zdravo!

There is no fall season in Indonesia, but we're loving the weather these last few days.
After 6 months of little rain-more sun, now it rains almost everyday!
Talking about season, C is so excited about the fall. The stores will be filled with Fall/Winter collection and she just loves the dark colors, long sleeves, trousers and boots.
While P is more into Spring/Summer, where she can fill her wardrobe with pastel colored outfits, floral tops, summer hat and shorts.
Once someone asked us 'Why do you two always like two different things?' Well, if there are two things we love together, that'd be fashion and Super Junior only. But being different with each other is actually really fun. That way, we learn to make our own 'statement' and share what we love.

By the way, do you know most of Kpop girlsband went under plastic surgery before they debuted? They did and probably that's why we're not interested in those girlsband no matter how much we enjoy listening to Korean pop.
Well, one girlsband didn't have plastic surgery.
4minute is a Korean girlsband who is currently making their way in Japan. They just released a new Japanese music video entitled 'First', which is so catchy and the clothes they wear in the vid, they certainly are the most stylish girlsband! We gotta admit we've been so into them lately!

First of all, a very huge sorry for the more-than-three-week hiatus. Turns out after holiday, school directly kicks in with mid-term tests and it's been really hard to find some minutes to blog, but anyway here we are with a new post!
As promised, we're back with some holiday pictures.
Yep, during the last two weeks Castor Pollux sisters went on a trip to China! Sichuan province to be exact.
And to be truthful, before this trip we know nothing about Sichuan but the infamous Sichuan soup, which is pretty common in Chinese restaurants all over the world.
But Sichuan really is more than the delicious soup, it's an area in China totally gifted with many nature wonders!

Holidays Are Just Like Heaven

Finally the two-week holiday we've been waiting for is just a few days away!
Forget those homeworks, leave those stress away, we're in the mood for travelling!

Effort

Ciao! (before this, we thought 'ciao' is goodbye, but guess it's used as both goodbye and hello?)

Oh, it feels so good to be back on blogging again! Sorry for the one-week hiatus. School, as always, drives us crazy, but we don't mind though. 'Every effort will bear good fruits', that's what we must have in our mind.
Meanwhile,
C has been a 10th grader for a month now. She had her first math and physics exams and it didn't come out well. It was a pretty big hit for her. C never enjoys math and science, but rarely get bad marks in those subjects. Well, she can't turn the time either so she decides to stop regretting those Ds and study harder.
P, on the other hand, is in great mood. Her scores rise, higher than the last two years. It's like she has a big change in herself, like a new 'studying spirit' or something (don't really know how to describe it). The point is she feels good most of the time. After all, she needs those As to get to the good high school ☺ ☺ ☺

A Year of Changes, A Year to Cherish

First of all, a lil' warning. This post is pretty melancholy (!)
Sitting here, typing this post, suddenly it just comes to our mind 'Hey, it's August 2010!'
Yes dear, Castor Pollux finally hits its first anniversary!
Don't remember the exact date, but it's still clear in our mind. August 2009, a lonely afternoon, very much like right now. Two sisters at the age of 15 and 13, staring blankly at the old computer screen. Bored of facebook, tired of The Sims 2, then learnt the word 'blogspot' after reading a magazine article.

We took the name Castor Pollux 'cos they are the names of two brightest star of Gemini constellation. These two stars appear relatively together. Even in greek mythology, the two people were also considered brothers.
It's pretty meaningful, isn't it? ☺ ☺ ☺
Beside, the initials suit our names too!

We remember the first six months, we were very immature. As sisters, we fought a lot (LOL really a LOT !). No one wanted to update this blog, well no one even thought about this blog anymore. This blog page was totally deserted.
But then, both of us experienced some events that people would call them 'life-changing moments' (can't tell about those events, it'll take more than one post and too confusing) and somehow we felt like we wanted to share and express ourselves on this blog page, as sisters of course. C and P, we are used to do almost all things together since we were kids. We even used to wear the same outfit, only in different colors (mom's favorite style of styling).

Well, things are much different now, in a better way of course!

Back again with another event post!
So, last Thursday we attended the Brightspot Market opening party. We met many lovely bloggers, and of course, it was a blast!
Brightspot Market is pretty much an annual bazaar where you can find clothes, accessories and even art from various designers/artists. The event kicked off on Thursday July 8th and will end on this Sunday July 11th. Since it's only held three times a year, you (especially Indonesians) don't wanna miss it!

These Two Girls

How's your holiday so far? Ah, too bad for us Indonesians here, school holiday is almost over!
Next week, we'll be sitting in our new classroom with new textbooks and new pile of homework to do. Or maybe some people, like C and P here :
C is finally a high school girl! She is very excited about being a 10th grader, but also scared at the same time because the high school she'll be attending is a very very very (okay so many very-s) brainy school. We heard most of the students are local Math/Science competition winners, even there are some Math/Science Olympic medallist too. That's too bad for C, who obviously doesn't enjoy Math that much. Oh and there will be an orientation program for the new students, they said high school orientation would be the most embarrassing moment. Hm, we'll see.
P is a 9th grader now! Opposite of C, she is a senior now in her junior high school, but 9th grade is not all about fun. The pressure is on. Here in Indonesia, in order to graduate and continue your study to high school, the 9th graders will have to face the national exam. If you remember our old post about C struggling to survive the national exam preparation tests... It was a heck of stress. Hola fellow bloggers and readers!
Oh, there's just no more beautiful party than a wedding party. We finally know why.
Last Saturday was our uncle's wedding party. He is our mom's youngest brother and the last of our uncles to get married. He's always be the uncle who copes with us well. He is young-spirited and friendly. He is loved by his nephews and nieces so much, especially the little ones.
After a long time, his search finally comes to an end. And now he's married to a beautiful woman. We can't be less happier for him and our new auntie!

Morning before the wedding party, according to chinese tradition, both groom and bride gave the elders a cup of tea to drink, then the elders would give them gifts, such as gold rings and necklaces.

All family members watched the tea ceremony. 'Hi we are the nieces and nephews of the groom!'

The wedding party, it was held in an old park which used to be the dutch's property. (Indonesia was colonized by the Dutch) Under the starry sky, we eat and dance. It was so beautiful!

So, last Saturday we joined a meet-up with 14 Indonesian fashion bloggers at Pandan Village restaurant.

Hello there!
Woah this week is going to be a very busy one *stretching arms*
Last weekend we just got back from our trip to Singapore. At first, it was supposed to be a full-sightseeing-and-enjoying-rides-trip, but in the end it turned to be a shopping trip. LOL
Then this weekend, our youngest uncle will finally get married (so this means the next post would be about a wedding party) Yay!
Meanwhile the most anticipated World Cup is on! C,as a big fan of football, is so excited about the event. She would stay up late until 04:00 A.M to watch the match. And P, well, she's not into football, but there are a lot cute footballers so there's no reason to miss this 2010 South Africa World Cup!

As we are now in the middle of 'football party', it suddenly comes to our mind, why don't we style up our football jersey?

We're back! Better, we bring something special.
Few weeks ago, C and P bought a very unique T-shirt at Sash (it's a clothing store in ITC Mangga Dua, most of you indonesians must have known this place). This acid-wash T-shirt has a dozen pins on its shoulder, making it too good to be missed.

So it suddenly struck to our mind, why don't we DIY our old plain T-shirt into an edgier top with a lot of pins? You know, since we can't sew well...

What you'll need (no needle or sewings are needed, don't know how that needle and thread got in the pic ;) :

Plain T-shirt
Scissors
Pins (could be 5 or more, it's up to you)
A piece of patterned cloth (striped, check, etc.)
Brooch (optional)

1. Cut those sleeves

2. Shred the cloth

3. Put the shredded cloth and the T-shirt together with a pin

4. Pinned the pins on the T-shirt, in an order or randomly, your pick
5. Make small holes between the pins using scissors (optional)
6. Stick the brooch (optional)

How do you wear your jewelries?
Do you wear more than 2 rings at the same time? Or a dozen of bangles in each hands?
We think you and us agree, fashion and jewelries can't be separated. Like for example, a little black dress is pretty. But if you wear a classic LBD with pearl necklaces or diamond bracelets, you will look more than just pretty; you'll look stunning.

According to Abazias.com, there are some jewelries you can try:

The Posse Thing
Ever notice how teens today have a little posse? Even jewelry habits for this age group seem to pay homage to the ideal of the teen community experience. It’s not so much about what the jewelry is actually made out of, even plastic and rubber bands will do. Friendship bracelets are still very popular, even when many aren’t even made with a metal setting; many are made from string and macramé.

Silly Bands
Today’s teens can even wear silly bands as jewelry. These are reminiscent of the jelly bracelets, but with a little mystery. They are nothing more than shaped rubber bands and they are a very hot fashion statement these days. When removed from the wrist, the rubber band takes back its original shape, which can be an engagement ring, an animal, or some other fun, and silly, thing. It can have a religious theme, if they like church, or a sports theme, if they’re athletic. Some even like to celebrate their heritage with Claddagh rings and other ethnic jewelry. Jewelry is a great individual expression, but teens these days want to show they belong to someone or some group when they wear it. They want it to reflect their own personal posse.

Dress Up and Enjoying Karma

Hej! (they say it's how you say hello in danish, is it true?)
Sorry x100 for the one-week absence.
As May ends and June comes, many things start to fill our days, namely :
P is now in the middle of final exam. There are so many materials to learn that she only gets around 4-5 hours sleep every night. And she spends most of the day in her room, studying hard. Well this exams are important. These final scores will determine what kind of high school she could get in. Talking about high school, the pressure is on. P isn't very sure whether she has to enter an international school or regular school. Making choices is the hardest thing ever.
Meanwhile,
C is officially on holiday! She has just got back from her farewell trip to Bali. She had a great time and now she's planning for another trip with her junior high school friends to (probably) Bandung.
But beside all the fun, C still has to take driving lesson which turns out to be very hard for her. She nearly crush into a motorcycle this morning. God bless her.

Lastly, we'd like to share something if you don't mind :)
We are so into K-pop right now, it's a big change 'cos we used to hate them (it's karma LOL).
We used to listen to all those western songs and Justin Bieber, but often get bored. So our friend suggested a new track by a Korean boyband called Super Junior and *dang! suddenly we're crazy about it.
They sing amazingly, they've got great songs and killer dance moves, they rap and they even act!

Their newest hit single, Bonamana (if we're not mistaken, it means 'beauty')

Ever Feel So 'Blues'?

Hey!

How are you guys doing?
Guess a week has passed since our last post (?), we lost count of days.
This week has been very busy for both for us.

P is 'buried' (not literally of course) under assignments, tests, homeworks and more tests. Well, that's the life of junior high school students in our school. Yeah you know, our school is like 'really brainy' type. There are so many bright students there and sometimes it's hard to keep up.
On the other side, C has finally, after 3 years, graduated! Yipeee! Better, she got 3rd rank in her class. And even though it's a degradation from last semester (C got 2nd rank last semester), she's still so excited.

That's C , the girl in blue uniform on the left (do you notice our parents?). The other two are her bestfriends, who also got 2nd and 1st rank.

She Goes All-Girly, She Goes All-Boyish

Halo! (that's how we say 'hello' in Indonesia)
How are you guys?
So, these last few days at Jakarta have been super hot! (not in a sexy way)
The hot weather insist you to turn on the air-conditioner, but when you do, it would affect global warming right? Then global warming would make the world hotter, but then again you can't stand the hot weather.
Okay, we're gonna stop here. It's so complicated. LOL
But hey, if you're planning on visiting Indonesia, now is the right time.

The point is, during this sunny and hot weather :
C is now feeling nervous as the national exam result announcement is just a few days away (3 days to be exact) She was pretty sure with her answers, but you may never know what could happen. Let's just hope she'll graduate with great marks *finger crossed
P is back to her regular activities (school, language course, more courses) which sometimes make her so tired. Playing The Sims3 is now the only thing that cheers her up, so you can imagine how hard it is to take control of the computer just for once. LOL. When not study or play The Sims, P works on her class-movie-project. The movie is so funny and they act without any script. Hope we can post it after it's done!
