Hey All,

Just a note about changes to the blog.

I am sure you noticed that there is now an add for Prograde Nutrition over there on the left.

Over the course of the past two years many of my friends, colleagues and teachers have commented on the transformation I have gone through physically. Along the way I have found a few professionals out there whose ideas, writings, and products have helped me make that change.

One of the cool things about having formed Mercer Health and Fitness Inc. is that I can now share those ideas with you. Sometimes as a member of an affiliate program as is the case with Prograde Nutrition.

Whats Happening
In the very near future you will see a page with all those links in one place. That page will have listed the trainers, sites, and blogs that I have found helpful. Some I will be "proud partners" with (a fancy way of making sure my readers know that I have made a financial partnership), and some will be just a link to an interesting blog or forum.

You will also see some adds on the left hand side of the blog for the companies I am teaming up with to get the word out on quality products. By clicking on those banners you will also be helping me make my rent.

I will only be teaming up with people whose products and services I have used and am happy with.

When possible I will be keeping a small amount of stock on hand so that if you are a student, client or co-worker you can pick up some product from me directly.

That's right ladies and germs, Private Howell is coming out of retirement.

Now before we get too excited (I know, I know, I squirted a little too), keep in mind that BRK and Hobbes have a definite idea of how they want to approach their WoW'ing as we move into Cataclysm.

Will BRK's return be temporary?
Will raspberry lattes once again become the Hunter Drink of Choice?
Did Hobbes ever find out about the incident with the Spirit Beast, roller skates, and the refrigerator?

We just don't know. I for one am very much looking forward to reading Daniel's posts again.

They were always funny, and quite frankly, my experiences in TBC, and then on into Wrath were shaped with his help (can you say solo'ing Fel Reaver at level 70 via the mad Kiting skillz I learned on his site), and I am very grateful.

In the mean time, SHHHHH!!!! Be vewy vewy qwiet, BRK is back and we don't want to scare him off.....

This is one of the most epic WoW videos I have encountered in the five years I have been playing World of Warcraft!

WarcraftHuntersUnion — April 12, 2010 — WoW video: Level 10 Hunter Raid

Over 300 hunters leveled up to level 10, trained pets from across Azeroth, and embarked on a legendary event of epic fun and dragon killing. The raid wiped once on the world dragon emiriss, and had a couple 80s helping out. The level 10s did the vast majority of the work.

It is because events like this happen in Warcraft that I keep coming back to it.
What a wonderful affirmation that these are indeed real live people playing together in this game.

Hey Everyone!

Summer is upon us again and my good friend Kelly and her wife Midori are out on the road helping with Aids LifeCycle.

What it is
Aids LifeCycle is a 7 day, 545 mile bicycle ride from San Francisco to Las Angeles geared toward making a direct difference in the lives of people living with HIV and Aids. It is an annual event that takes place in late May or Early June.

Midori and Kelly do their part by riding in one of the vans that finds and helps riders that have gotten lost, are too tired to continue, or broken down. In short they are doing what they always do: lending a hand to someone in need.

Each year when the ride starts I ask my friends, regardless of where I met them or if they even know who Midori is, to donate the cost of a cup of coffee to Midori's Account on LifeCycle.

Are you a Midori fan and would like to buy her a cup of coffee?

Have you been with me to Northrend to fight Arthas and his minions, and want to spend a moment raising a pint in the Lion's Pride Inn?

Or are you one of my recently found IRL friends on facebook and want to catch up over a Mocha Grande?

I can't do this without your moral and financial help. Each day I'm on the ride I go and look for the messages you guys send me. It keeps my energy up. Every bit of donation to this delights me. All the help you guys give, in stepping up to help with and attend our fundraising parties make me tear up and then grin like an idiot.

Star Trek Tonight!

Tonight, after work I will be heading out to see Star Trek and I am super excited.

Naturally I am a little apprehensive, but being a huge fan of pretty much all things Trek I am sure I will love the flick.

In preparation for the movie I have been checking out the website for the upcoming Star Trek MMO. For you non gaming types an MMORPG is short for a Massively Multi-player Online Role Playing Game.

Remember all of those Dungeons and Dragon Geeks back in the 7th grade? Well, we are all online now and not everyone lives in Mom's basement.

Anyhoo, I have been tootling around checking things out and I think it has potential. Especially given the fan base that already exists. In all reality if Cryptic puts the effort into this game that Blizz and Eve Online has it would be hard to miss.

Why am I interested? Dude, a world without Star Trek is just unnatural!
Will it kill WoW? I tend to doubt it.
Will it take me out of World of Warcraft? It is entirely possible....

So after a few weeks of creating my new work out routine, tweaking things, maneuvering around old and new injuries I have finally settled on a plan for the next 6 to 8 weeks.

Only one piece of the puzzle was missing: the tunes. Well I have spent some time combing through my iTunes and selecting the songs I want to work out to. I finished with quite a range of music styles.

In the end pretty much everything gets represented here and I am happy to say that 20 years later Rush still gets the blood pumping. Heck there is even one I found on a WoW machinima.

Um...is there anything wrong with the fact that about 1/4 of this list includes songs from the "ultimate sex mix" we made a while ago....

Just got home with my copy.

Like a noob I also got the Guidebook.

And totally inspired by Applesauce (Mark) on The Ultimate Gamer I picked up a copy of Soul Caliber 4.

Holy Catz! Did you see the finale? Go check it if you haven't....

You may not see me for a month or two....

Oh, and Fin just got his second Champion title in WoW.
Now he is "of Thunder Bluff", and "of Orgrimar", and is working on his Valiant's Seals for the Darkspear Trolls.

I now have a totally fav staff in the game. I just picked up a Staff of Feral Furies for 25 Champion's Seals, and I have to say that in addition to being a huge upgrade to my tanking gear the graphic on this thing ROCKS THE HOUSE!
