Howdy-do, greetings, hi and good day ~ ~ ~
I do believe the bit of bandaging I have done got of some of the bugs and cobwebs cleaned out, of this seriously neglected blog, I hope they are sufficient until I can get up to speed on upgrades and enhancements.
Enough of non-stampin' yappin'!!!
I wanted to share this card with you all, it is created out of several mistakes I had made and I was ready to 86 it, trash it, nix it. In the end I liked how it turned out after it was all together.

Stamp Sets: SU Dragonfly Dreams and Wonderful you (sentiment)

Paper: Tim Holtz Water color paper, SU Pacific Point & Pumpkin Pie

Ink: Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and Stazon Black

Embellishments and tools: SU watercolor pens and Ranger Acrylic colors

Hi There!
Just a fun card using the new Bloomin' Heart Thinlits Die from the SU! Occasions Catalog. I love it and it coordinates with the Bloomin' Love Stamp set.

After running the die through my Big Shot I used the die cut as a stencil rather than using the die cut as an embellishment on my card.

With some Calypso Coral daubed through the stencil on Whisper White card stock I created the center of the heart shape made with the retired Heart Thinlets.

I also used the cut outs from the die to add the additional flowers and topped them off with some basic rhinestones.

Trying to get back into the swing of things and hope to provide more details on my next cards, when I get all figured out again!!!

Thank you to the many wonderful people who continue to "Like" my Stampins4you Facebook page. The number of FB "likes" has reached 95!!! For me, that is a big ! Especially since I haven't post for nearly 10 months.

I am absolutely amazed how quickly time has passed since my last post in March 2015!
The last year has included so many emotional situations that have ranged from the ultimate sadness, frustrations, stress to the total love, joy, happiness of family and friends that lift me up everyday.

Moving on... Several months ago I realized that I had lost my MOJO and creativity since I hadn't really been stamping. When I went to make a card, I would just start stamping and nothing jelled and what was on the paper was just tossed.
For the first time in years I didn't get all my Christmas cards made in time ,

To get motivated, I started searching the internet, looked deep into Split Coast Stampers galleries, blogs and started looking at new tools, companies products and techniques.
I absolutely love what I have found!!! Distress inks for stamping/watercoloring and more water coloring with Brushos (still a little bit afraid of them), experimenting with Frisket. All the fresh and creative stamp company's designs.
I eagerly awaited for my Demo copy of the SU! Holiday Catalog..... loved it! I know I overwhelmed myself with all the goodies.

Super Great News .... the new SU! Occasions and Sale-A-Bration (freebies for purchasing $50 in in products... no limit) brochures are active..... some wonderful items in both of them. There is something for everyone's stamping genre.
Take a look by clicking on the brochure pics at the top left. I am sure you will find something you just need to have!

Because, as I mentioned in my previous post with only together card, the SU! Blendability markers have been discontinued and I was caught up in the defect/quality issues.
I had wanted to get many of the sets I purchased replaced, but that is no longer a possibility and as such I want to get the most out the markers while they are still viable.
I must say that SU! is working hard to make rectify this situation for customers and Demos.
But, I did get side tracked and made this wreath for my Grand-daughters room. Her mom wanted something of her door and I this is a placeholder until she finds something that she likes better.

I like it if I do say so myself, but I might need a bow on the lower right hand bottom.

I worked through the tutorial after I found a stamp I thought would work, the SU! retired background stamp "From the Garden."
Unfortunately, my pictures don't show the raised areas as well as I would have liked, even in the largest pic mode for this blog.

I am usually all about balance and after looking at the greeting I should have had someone-else's assistance to help me see that I needed to reverse the salutation with the embellishment and clean out my ears to get my equilibrium back...

Stamps: From the Garden, retired Background stamp and a retired sentiment stamp.

Paper: Mossy Meadow, Whisper White, and Hello Honey.

Inks: Memento Black, Mossy Meadow and the now discontinued Blendabilities

Accessories: Scallop Oval and Large Oval punches. Basic Rhinestones and Yellow Sharpie

Recently I commented "So right, it sure needs to happen more often!!!" to this Facebook post ...

I meant what I said, but it bothered me that I hadn't put some type of action behind those written words. So, when I sawthis tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers. I decided give it a whirl and make a simple card that would have, hopefully, a WOW impact and put my words into action through my paper crafting.

So to all of you who have been or are in my life... This is my way of saying THANK YOU, YOU ARE TRULY APPRECIATED !!!

I experimented with many different colors and this is my favorite.

Stamp Sets: Retired Simple Sayings II

Inks: Memento Black, Reinkers ~ Blackberry Bliss, Crushed Curry Strawberry Slush and pigment Whisper White Craft ink,

Paper: SU! Watercolor Paper, Black Berry Bliss, Non-SU! Canvas paper for the card (this paper is the bomb) !!!

Accessories: Aqua Painters, Basic Rhinestones colored with a Yellow Sharpie, Tombow all purpose glue, Acetate, Bigz Die Circles 2, in-color sequins, sponger dauber and good ole' H2O.

I still have a few more color combinations I want to try and then complete all the cards.

As a side note: I did not follow the tutorial exactly, because when I was filling in the circles with the white pigment ink it was too thick. I realized that my pad was very saturated and decided to only go around the edges of each circle. It would have worked perfectly, per the tutorial, if I stamped off most of the ink off the dauber before filing in the circles.

This lovely card was made using the Something Lacy background stamp from the Occasions catalog. In my minds-eye I saw many wonderfully colored flowers and was excited to get started. I pulled all the colors out and began coloring but it was just to busy to me that day.
Decided to start over, looked at the flowers and saw little hearts through out the image....starting coloring those hearts and the card just came together!

Stamps: Lovely Lace background Stamp Paper: Real Red, Whisper White, Basic Black Ink: Memento Black and Real Red Accessories: Versamark, Clear EP, Hello You Thinlits dies (Occasions catty) and Basic Rhinestones My lesson, in this case, was not to push what I thought I wanted to create based on logic or standards, but let myself explore, study and be attentive to how the image inspires you. What a fun name for a fun Set ~~~ Wood you be mine?
I sure had fun working on this card for my hubby for Valentine's Day.
Although, I realized that doing a pop-up card with the design of the lumberjack wasn't the right image but I did what I could to make work and reinforced him to stand up. All in all it was not a stable as I wanted to be :(

Paper: Retired DSP, Whisper White and Chocolate Chip.
Inks/Markers: Real Red pad, Smoky Slate, Night of Navy, Cajun Craze and blender pen.

Things are a Changin' - Part III - Start Spreading the news...

As I stated in my last post, I re-signed up as a Demo and I am sooo excited to start up Card Classes again.

My first class will be in March, more details will posted and emailed soon!!!

Although I no longer have the same space like my previous craft room there plenty of space to get creative!!!

I had discovered after not stamping/creating as much as I had before that I was little rusty at getting the card creativity juices flowing. So after staring at some stamps and blank card stock, I finally just dug in, kept at it until by “block” abated a bit and created something worthy of sharing.

I just love the single wood stamp I used in the pic above, Love is Kindness, from the Occasions catalog (click on the catalog picture to the left see the full catalog) there are so many fun and wonderful things being offered for a limited time.

If a purchase of $50 is made from the Occasions or annual Catalog period there are major freebies from the Sale-A-Bration catalog!!!

Time to get inky and start stampin' again.

Things are a changin' - Part II

Yup, the only constant is change and that is what is happening with the number of family members who are/will be in our household.
And as such getting things ready requires some changes (there that word is again) like deciding on who will have what rooms.
So, I moved out of the bonus/craft room into the room across the hall and this is how my new room turned out:

My Stampin' desk

Everything within easy reach :)

My paper and entertainment center radio/CD player)

My cutting station and my wall of fame of cards from friends, family and a few of my own favorites, these get changed out often for inpiration.

It is amazing how one can re-purpose old furniture like this old TV stand with the racks removed that held videos

With all these changes (and burning my candle at both ends) it didn't detour me when I decided to sign up again as SU! demo again, I miss it and sharing stamping and my passion with others. Look for Part III tomorrow as I announce ~~~

Part 1 ~~~

With a new year comes new adventures. After loosing my older 2 sweet greyhounds, I adopted a Rhythm (who was brought to me as the perfect Greyhound for me, he is). Although, he loves to hoard and move his beds, shoes, blankets and pillows to the front door through out the day as he waits for someone to come home... it is hilarious!!!

At first, I by passed this set as a didn't see what I might due with it as the options seemed so limited, BUT a friend of mine wanted to use this set during our beach trip.
So, I got the set and this what I came up with....to be honest I love how it turned out.
I had hoped she would like it and I think she did.

As I stated in a previous post, keep checking back here on my blog and will share with you soon where can find all the details/recipe for this cards.

So I found my motivation by preparing for a girls trip to the beach that includes a bit of time for "playing cards: Yatta yatta!!!
Let's start with the nearest Holiday, ok, not really a Holiday, but for children and the Candy companies and it is called:

I had my Aunt ask me if had ever tried doing a Dragonfly card after I posted my butterfly card here.
I very rarely reach beyond Stampin' Up! for all my creative card making needs but I couldn't find a dragonfly in my archive of stamp sets or in a current available set that would work for my vision until I turned to the web and found this one from The Stamping Place.

I used the new SU! Blendablities and for the Dragonfly/foliage and the 2014-2015 SU! in-colors with blender pens to create my best version of stained glass for the background. I was happy with the final result.

Oh, I forgot to mention the retired set Whimsical Words that I used for sentiment I used for this card.... I was exactly the sentiment I want to my Aunt and Uncle for the inspiration.

Bon Voyage

I can't believe that I am not going on this cruise (through the inside passage through Alaska to Canada) with my friend, soooo sad about it, but just wasn't able to swing it with to many other obligations to family and work. Yippee for her.
I wanted to make a card to wish her safe and fun travels and this what I ended up with.

that my dear friend and her family suffered a lose of their fur family member Otto.
This card was made for that special friend (who I miss dearly since she moved away.) She and her family have been mourning the loss of their sweet dog and wish I could have been there to comfort her. Otto had stayed with us a few times and was the perfect gentleman. He had a black spot on his tongue and I was told many years ago that black spot was a sign a line of royalty in dogs which Otto was (just like my dog name Moose). Although the image doesn't show the true Otto, I hope the color likeness is comforting

This was a card made from the heart for my dear friend.

Splatter Painted Peacock

As many of you may have read ~~~ I am loving new Blendabilites alcohol markers and was really excited to try them out on this wonderful single stamp Perfect Peacock.

As I got to the last bit of coloring this very intricate design one of the pens started "spitting" drops of ink on the paper.... argh.... what had I done wrong? Did I put to much pressure that on the nib or did I hold it up right for too long so that ink welled in the nib and splattered when moved it away.... none of those options held up to may re-testing the pens.

So not really sure what the issue was but I went with the new "modern" concept and decided my frustration should be turned into something unexpected like the card below:

This card, in my opinion is too crazy busy with color. sequins and splatter but in the end I really liked how it turned out. I hope you do to.
