This is the playground of Europe’s elite, a country where Lady Luck might clean you out at the casino one day and put you on the Grimaldi guest list the next. lt’s a glittering, preening, swanking opportunity for people-watching that shouldn’t be passed up amateur anthropologists.

April/May and September/October (spring and autumn)

Losing money in the over-the top splendour of the Monte Carlo CasinoVisiting the Musee Oceanographique, probably the best aquarium in Europe, with 90 seawater tanks and a display of living coral Wandering around Monaco’s Palais du Prince, which was built in the 13 th century Checking out the spectacular views from the Jardin Exotique, which has 7000 varieties of cacti and succulents Sailing off Monaco in a glass-bottomed boat

Read PETER Mayle’s Anything Considered, a novel about Monaco featuring monks, crim and truffles; The Bridesmaids: Grace Kelly and six intimate friends, in which Judith Balaban Quine persuades Grace’s best buddies to pill the beans

Listen to the prize-winning Monte Carlo Philharmonic

Watch Grace Kelly in the Hitchcock classic To Catch a Thief-she met Prince Rainier while filming; Golden Eye, with Pierce Brosnan as ‘Bond, James Bond’ and localtion shots including the Grand Corniche and Monte Carlo Casino

Eat finger food (if you want to compete with the wannabe starlets on Monte Carlo’s beach)

Drink martinis or mineral water

Tres chi-chi

Princess Grace; the casino; the Formula One Grand Prix; endless gossip about princesses Caroline and Stephanie; a tax-free haven; Ferraris

James Bond really does live in Monaco (well, Moore does); the citizens of Monaco (known as Monegasques) only number about 5000 out of the total population’ Monaco’s territory only covers 1.95sq km

Money is safe in Monaco and so are the people who have it. The police presence in Monaco is striking (don’t even think about running a red light), and their perpetual vigilance is aided by TV cameras posted on nearly every corner.

Tourism in Maldives which was introduced in 1972 has
successfully developed in the past years. Maldives tourism has been rapidly
growing the number of tourist arrivals and resorts islands over the last ten
year period.

On the European market, Maldives today rank among the most attractive travel
destinations in the tropics. Maldives offers large natural resources for tourism
and encourages eco-tourism to protect the sensitive environment and underwater
life.

It is not only divers and snorkelers who enjoy the profuse underwater resources,
but also beach tourists are attracted by the nature of the beaches and the
climatic conditions as well. This environment really guarantees relaxation and
recreation.

The Maldives honeymoon

Celebrate your special honeymoon in Maldives at the most beautiful and romantic
islands of Maldives.

You could enjoy the privacy and intimacy of a secluded, natural setting and a
warm inviting atmosphere, where the sunsets are spectacular!

The Maldives resorts offer you not only the crystal clear waters and azure blue
lagoons, food is tasty and services are excellent.

As a welcome token, almost all Maldives resorts offers honeymooners fruit plates
and flower decorated rooms on the arrival night - a romantic promise of what
lays ahead. On request, resorts also arrange romantic candle-lit dinners on the
beach and also champagne breakfast served in the privacy of your own room, to
make your honeymoon holiday memories that will last a lifetime!

Specks of emerald green enveloped by dazzling turquoise waters like scattered
beads in the ocean; white powdery beaches, tall palms lean on towards the sea,
crystalline white sands giving way to crystal clear waters, shades of turquoise
blend flawlessly with deeper hues of blue; pristine coral reefs and some of the
most incredible underwater life on our planet.

Rising from the deep blue of the vast expanse of the Indian Ocean are more than
a thousand islands and thousands more reefs that form the Maldives.

What better place to relax and enjoy yourself than the romantic dunes that adorn
these islands. Imagine a place that is nothing but surf and sun; where paradise
meets reality. You can choose any of the ninety

resorts islands across the Maldives for your

honeymoon or holiday stay; allowing yourself
the freedom to explore everything is amazing tropical wonderland has to offer.
Everything has been designed with the luxury and comfort of travellers in mind,
which is why per capita it is the busiest tourist area in the world. Half a
million people every year rediscover this paradise.

The Maldives Islands

Sunny, unique and unspoiled, the Maldives is an archipelago comprising 1,190
low-lying coral islands scattered across the equator, in groups of 26 naturally
occurring atolls which are divided into 20 for administrative purposes.

Maldives Islands are characterized by a unique
coral nature and thus they posses unique tourism resources though in a one-sided
way, namely in the submarine and littoral environment of the islands, lagoons
and reefs, associated with the year-round tropical climate.

Venice is built on one hundred and seventeen small
islands, and holds one hundred and fifty canals, connected by an amazing four
hundred and nine bridges, of which only three cross the main canal. The area it
covers is a mere 284 miles (458 kilometres). Although thecity appears small, it
is really quite extensive for its size with a fair number of Venice restaurants
and Venice hotels (off peak) to choose from. While most tour guides don’t
recommend getting lost in the majority of cities during your Venice vacation,
Venice is the place to get hopelessly lost for a day. However, Venice isn’t all
cities and crowded streets. Through the mysterious alleyways leading off from
the city, endless mazes of backstreets and deserted squares, on your Venice
trip, you'll find that this city is a perfect place to walk for hours on end,
pretending to know where you are.

The unique Venice activities you'll discover during a walk around town are
plentiful. The now-famous watery villages on rafts of wooden posts driven into
the soil, laid the foundations for the floating palaces of today

The traditional date of Venice's birth is given as 25 March 421, but there is
little evidence to support this belief. The population is roughly 63,000 people,
but there is belief that Venice will, over time, lose most of its population and
become merely a large theme park, purely for the entertainment of camera-clad
tourists on their very first Venice trip. People with big bums walk around
everywhere.

Venice is always in celebrating something, although
Venice is a particularly busy vacation city in the flourishing months of spring,
especially around Easter. Venice hotel accommodations are one of the most
difficult things to find around peak time, as well as around Christmas, New
Year, and festival Carnevale in February. Like Italy 's other great tourist
areas, Venice is not at its worst in summer. Although it'scrowded, there are
many other special Venice activities on offer. The most extraordinary time of
year to visit is late March into May, with clear spring days and fewer crowds.
September is also extraordinary in terms of weather, but October is quieter.
Flooding occurs in November and December, and winter can be unpleasantly cold -
although seeing Venice under a layer of snow can cast the aura of a fairy tale.

Vaporetto (water bus) is the most amazing method of getting around Venice; you
won’t find too many public transport routes as unforgettable as vaporetto. Get
yourself a travel pass to ride the exclusive vaporetto -
single tickets don't come cheap, and are less economical if you plan to
spend days touring Venice and exploring every nook and cranny.

The classic gondola ride with the opera-warbling operator is pretty touristy and
expensive but the traghetto is a commuter gondola that crosses the Grand Canal
at strategic points. It's quite a balance test for newbies, as you have to
stand. Water taxis (motorboats) are almost as expensive as gondolas, but their
pilots don't wear stripper shirts and bellow out 'O Sole Mio'.

The famous willy wonka-villages of Venice post a threat to the historical
buildings, which are slowly sinking into the marshy ground. It is believed that
if construction work does not continue, these buildings may, in turn, pose a
threat to the safety of locals and tourists. It has been said that “When this
precious place sinks, the world will be the poorer”, and also stated that Venice
has a bleak future. Looking on the optimistic side, the villages are beautiful
today, and are still open to being admired for years to come.

Regular buses (yes, they do exist) run from one place to another, but it's
probably the least exciting way to get around the city. Obviously, don't bring
the to Venice - you'll just be paying to leave it in a car park for the
duration, and in a few car parks you’ll find yourself with a large fine
afterwards. Taxis - the regular four-wheeled variety -
do operate from Piazzale Roma.

And who can forget the romantic side of Venice? Although it can be
excruciatingly hot and stuffy in summer, when the tourists flock, it is
nonetheless one of the most romantic cities for lovestruck Venice vacationers.
With the image of an inky-blue sky laden in a full moon and dotted with stars;
above a glowing cityscape, seen from a tiled square bordered by Italian words
and Pizza outlets, it’s no wonder.

Like every tourist location, it’s not just tourists from the surrounding
countries who visit; all kinds of people can be found, cameras at the ready, in
Venice. The attractions in Venice include many remarkable structures, such as an
impressive array of bronze work, tapestries and paintings from the 5th to 6th
century, as well as a whole handful of amazing buildings and galleries
showcasing the artistic side of Venice.

If you are looking for the upbeat bars and tasty Venice restaurants, you cannot
go wrong with the area surrounding Campo di Santa Margherita in Dorsoduro. There
you will find an pubs, trendy bars that do the limbo, and just plain fun. The
area is frequented by students from the University and is buzzing with life all
day with market stalls of fish and vegetables and all night with full tables
outside the cafés and bars.

The sea surrounds Venice, so Venetian cuisine is extremely abundant in seafood
dishes (fish-haters beware). Pasta can be a little different in Venice than
traditional Italian *****ng as many imagine it; you order lots of noodles
with a dab of sauce. Risotti are also a very popular part of local culinary
history, and delicious with fresh fish or seafood.

A typically Venetian specialty, cichetti (cheh-keht-tee) are small portions of
food served in bacari (Venetian style wine bars) scattered all over the city,
usually with an ombra, which is a small glass of wine. When you go out for
cichetti , you will eat standing up, hopefully in a crowded room (some of the
best are dark and gloomy looking: but don't let looks deceive, they serve
wonderful food and drink just the same). Mosey up to the bar, where all the
cichetti will be displayed before you. A typical cichetto (this is the singular)
might be a square of polenta cornmeal with a dab of bacala mantecato (creamed
cod fish) on top, or a small slice of bread with a slice of local sopressa
salami, or a ball of rice stuffed with an olive and deep fried. Or else order a
topino, which is a tiny sandwich often cut in front of you al momento.
Summon the bartender, order your glass of wine and point to your choice of
several cichetti, which will then be served to you. The bartender will keep your
tab going and present it to you when you are ready to leave.

Top Ten Things to Do in Venice

Collezione Peggy Guggenheim (Peggy Guggenheim
Collection) - Housed in the former Venetian home of Peggy Guggenheim, the Peggy
Guggenheim Collection is one of the most outstanding art collections in the
world. Visitors to the home -- Palazzo Venier dei Leoni, which sits on the Grand
Canal in Venice, can browse through works by Jackson Pollock, Max Ernst (whom
Peggy Guggenheim was once married to), Picasso, Chagill, Delvaux, Salvador Dali,
Duchamp, and Mondrian. Also on site is a garden of modern sculpture with
Giacometti, a museum shop, and a cafe overlooking the sculpture garden. 704
Chiesa di San Giacomo di Rialto - Possibly built
around 421, Chiesa di San Giacomo di Rialto, also called San Giacometo, is
considered the oldest church in Venice. Highlights include the great clock, the
Gothic Portico (one of the last remaining examples in the city), and the
interior design.

Basilica di San Marco (St. Mark's Basilica) –
Finished in 1094, Basilica di San Marco houses a number of otherworldly relics
from all over the world and the icon of the Madonna of Nicopeia. Other points of
interest include: the atrium, the baptistery, Pala d'Oro, and the Marciano
Museum and the Loggia dei Cavalli. San Marco 328, Ph: +39 041 2708311

Palazzo Pisani - Located between the Bridge of
Rialto and the Ca'Foscari's Vault, Palazzo Pisani stands at one of the most
beautiful points along the Grand Canal. The architecture is significant, due in
part, to the palace’s façade, which features two levels of Gothic mulliones
windows. Inside, Baroque decoration can be found throughout by the best Venetian
artists of the XVIIIth Century such as Giuseppe Angeli, Gaspere Diziani,
Giambattista Tiepoloi, and Jacopo Guarana. Other points of interest include the
grand staircase, antique furnishings, and the palace's art collections.

Torre dell'Orologio (The Clock Tower) - Also known
as St. Mark’s Clock Tower or the Moors Clock Tower, The Clock displays the
current phase of the moon, the dominant sign of the zodiac, and of course, the
time of day. The Clock Tower is 500 years old and it is one of Venice’s top
tourist attractions. Torre dell'Orologio sits on St. Mark's Square – the heart
of Venice. Guided tours take place at 9:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on
Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays and at 1:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. on
Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Canal Grande (The Grand Canal) - Grand views,
galleries, museums, and beautiful Venetian Gothic style palaces -- these are
just a few of the sights visitors will see while floating down the Grand Canal
in a vaporetto (Venice waterbus). Another way to explore the Grand Canal is by
Gondola or motorboat. The Grand Canal begins at Piazetta San Marco and ends at
the rail station.

Museo Storico Navale (Naval History Museum) – Some
of the most interesting items are on display at Museo Storico Navale such as a
lavish gondola that belonged to Peggy Guggenheim and several sheds where several
historic barges are displayed. The Museum has three floors featuring everything
from Second World War torpedoes and artillery pieces to decorative 17th and 18th
century gondola prows. Campo San Biago, Castello 2148, Ph: +39 041 5200276.

San Rocco – San Rocco features canvases by
Tintoretto. Works can be found throughout the entire space – in the upper and
lower halls, a grand hallway, and in a separate room which includes Tintoretto’s
Crucifixion. Campo San Rosso, San Polo, Ph: +39 041 5234864.

St. Mark’s Square – St. Marks Square is the heart
of Venice. Tourists flock to the square to explore many of the city’s main
attractions (located here or in close proximity) including St. Marks Basilica,
Doge’s Palace, Torre dell’Orologio (Clock Tower), and Piazetta San Marco, to
name a few.

San Zaccaria – San Zaccaria is a Gothic church that
also houses a number of works of art. One of the major works that can be found
here is Giovanni Bellini’s Madonna Enthroned. Works by Tintoretto, Anthony Van
Dyck, Bassano, Il Vecchio, and Titian can also be found here as well as the
frescoes of Andrea al Castagno. Campo San Zaccaria, Castello, Ph: +39 041

The Tower Bridge , named after its two impressive towers, is one of London's
best known landmarks. This Victorian Bridge is now more than 100 years old.
Designed by Wolfe Barry and Horace Jones, and completed in 1894, the middle of
the bridge can be raised to permit large vessels to pass the Tower Bridge. It
used to be raised about 50 times a day, but nowadays it is only raised 4 to 5
times a week.

The bridge is 60 meter (197 ft) long and its towers rise to a height of 43
meter. From the top of the towers, you have a great view on the center of
London. You can also visit the inside of the tower, where you can observe the
original mechanism used to raise the bridge.

Buckingham Palace’s 19 state rooms are open to visitors during August and
September while the Queen makes her annual visit to Balmoral.

The State rooms house some of the Royal family’s greatest treasures including
paintings by Rembrandt, Rubens, Poussin and Canaletto. They are also exquisitely
furnished with some of the finest French and English furniture.

Visit the spectacular Palace Ballroom and see the traditional horseshoe-shaped
table lavishly decorated for a State Banquet. On display you can see the silver
gilt from the Grand service, first used to celebrate the birthday of George III
in 1811 as well as jewelled cups, ivory tankards, chased dishes, sconces,
shields and basins.

The end of the tour takes you along the south side of the Palace’s gardens with
views of the west front of the Palace and the lake.

The Changing of the Guard takes place in the forecourt of Buckingham Palace at
11.30 every day in summer, every other day in winter, and lasts about 45
minutes.

The New Guard marches to the Palace from Wellington Barracks with a Guards band,
the Old Guard hands over in a ceremony during which the sentries are changed and
then returns to barracks. The New Guard then marches to St James's Palace
leaving the detachment at Buckingham Palace. The nearest tube stations are Green
Park, Victoria, Hyde Park Corner and St. James's Park.

The city of
Marbella, Spain

Marbella's motto is "A Way of Life"
and, certainly, this luxurious resort town seems to have it all and
is, once again, rising to the fore as a favourite location with the
rich and famous, as well as more ordinary folk who are willing to
pay just a little bit extra for southern Spain's answer to St
Tropez.

Not too long ago, Marbella sharpened its image still more thanks to
a considerable investment initiated by the town's colourful and
controversial late mayor, Jesus Gil which resulted in a massive
landscaping drive.

earth side as well, an air of

individuality which can be best

appreciated by exploring back streets in the old part of town. One
of the prettiest places is the fabled 'Orange Square' which is
located just off the main street in the older district and is also
home to the 16th century town hall and tourist office where you can
pick up a detailed map and visitor information.

Your visit might very well inspire you to consider living in
Marbella, if so for an introduction to the neighbourhoods that make
this such a charming place to live.

Back to Orange Square, or "La Plaza de los Naranjos", as it is
called in Spanish, expect to meet with stately buildings, small
shops, art galleries, bars and bistros and is a hub of activity day
and night. And, depending on the time of year, the colours here can
be vibrant, with the trees and exotic tropical plants set against a
backdrop of dazzling white buildings and a deep blue sky.

Be sure to explore the honeycomb of surrounding narrow streets where
homes and shops intermingle to create the atmosphere of a small
village, rather than a cosmopolitan town. There are numerous
excellent restaurants to choose from, ranging from those
specialising in the predictably pricey exclusive cordon bleu to the
gritty individuality of a backstreet Spanish bar where the Serrano
ham is gently cured by tobacco smoke and the tapas are both tasty
and filling.

Back towards the coast is the La Alameda park where you can book
your personal horse and carriage to travel in style or, if you
prefer, stroll on towards the sea along the Avenida del Mar. This is
arguably one of the most delightful promenades on the costa, flanked
by classy restaurants and bars and mercifully free of concrete
skyscrapers, glass bottom boat trips, imported ****ls and I love
.... T. Shirts that are fast bringing a sameness to coastal resorts,
whether they be in Pathos, Cyprus or Portimao, Portugal.

From Guadalalmina to Cabopino, the Marbella coastline stretches
along some 26 kilometres of sunny beaches bathed by the
Mediterranean and where you can enjoy traditional fish and seafood
favourites like sardines on a spit, fried fish and the incomparable
paella. There are also two large parks in Marbella which provide
some welcome shade to spend some time with a book. The amphitheatre
at Constitution Park (once the garden of a private residence) is
frequently used for concerts and plays in the summer. Casinos, clubs
and just about every sporting activity under the sun, few places can
match Marbella for world class tennis, sailing and golf. There are
also three pleasure craft harbours here.

Address: Carretera de Cadiz, Km 177, Marbella
29600, Spain

Located 3.5 km from Marbella, this luxury hotel is
located directly beside the sea and within walking distance of
various shopping venues, restaurants, bars and pubs as well as links
to the public transport. The sandy beach is some 150 m away and a
visit to Puerto Bans yachting harbour that lies 4 km away come
highly recommended.

Home of the rich and famous for it's weater and
beaches, and one of the most famous holiday destinations in Spain is
a marvellous town located right in the middle of the “Costa del Sol
- Costa del Golf”. Its origins date all the way back to 1600 BC,
when it was founded by the Romans and called “Salduba” a settlement
of the “Via Augusta”.

In the year 711 the Moors invaded and conquered
much of the Iberian Peninsula and under their rule Marbella became a
prosperous town called “Marbi-la”.

The old town is not to be missed when in Marbella. It has been
preserved and still looks like what an Andalucian town on the sea
would look like: white washed buildings with ornately curved iron
railing; Muslim style decoration; beautiful churches and plazas full
of orange trees. Take a stroll down the cobblestone streets and get
lost in the past, while checking out the old castle ruins and
churches.

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
