Whatever… John and Bipasha tried a lot to promote this film. Many of you use social networking sites such as FACE BOOK, MY SPACE, HI 5 etc… Yes, Social networking sites have earned a great popularity within limited time span. Today there are millions of online profiles created for the use of social networking sites. The popularity of these sites can be sustained from the fact that they are a means of some worth in terms of entertainment or any other for the users. Moreover the social sites such as HI5 and face book are better means of developing online friendship, searching for profiles of known people if registered and so on. Today most of the youths are attracted towards these sites and the fame and popularity of these sites have increased to a greater extent. But have you realized these sites are also dangerous????????????????????????

“Millions of young people could damage their future careers with the details about themselves they post on social networking websites, a watchdog warns.” Writes BBC and gives several details in its technology section. You can read it below.
The Information Commissioner's Office found more than half of those asked made most of their information public.
Some 71% of 2,000 14 to 21-year-olds said they would not want colleges or employers to do a web search on them before they had removed some material.
The commission said the young needed to be aware of their electronic footprint.

The ICO also said young people could be putting themselves at risk of identity fraud because of the material they post on social networks such as Facebook and MySpace.
The data regulator's survey found that two thirds of those questioned accepted as friends on such websites people they did not even know.
Some 60% posted their date of birth, a quarter put their job title and almost one in 10 gave their home address.
ICO deputy commissioner David Smith said: "Many young people are posting content online without thinking about the electronic footprint they leave behind.
"The cost to a person's future can be very high if something undesirable is found by the increasing number of education institutions and employers using the internet as a tool to vet potential students or employees."
'Wise up'
The survey found 95% were concerned about their details being passed on to advertisers or other websites.
There were 54% who cared "a lot" about how their personal information was used.
Mr Smith said: "This shows that when young people are made aware that their details could be being passed between parties - legitimate or unscrupulous - they are worried.
"We have to help teenagers wise up to every aspect of the internet age they're living in. It may be fun but unfortunately it is not the safe space many think it is."

This post is published in this blog because Nepal is going on with the most important festival Dashain at this moment and obviously everybody is in the mythical and religious mood and me, the editor for the post want to share the wishes of this festival with you all. Yes, Happy Dashain.

“Bada Dashain”, Name should be enough to those who are probably from Nepali and Indian origin but for those who still are wandering about this, it is Greatest National festival of Nepal. Although song blog, I want to include this post because Nepal is a world of festivals and to write about the greatest festival Dashain is my pleasure. Really, Nepal may be poor economically but for festivals I am sure it must be one of the richest countries. With lots of traditions, castes and costumes, Nepal has a unique identity in the modern world.

Dashain, is a legend and faith. Religion is in fact a great matter in context of cultural country like Nepal. I don’t want to bore you with the details of this festival but at least I want to mention some important aspects of the festival. Festival that signifies the victory over evil, Dashain, is a great festival for Hindu people. People generally relate dashain with myth of devils and goddess. Godess durga being worshipped during the time of Dashain is sought to have provided the total strength to Rama (a god according to Hindu myth) to win the battle with the Ravana (A great demon). The war is said to have continued for ten days and Rama was the winner. So, Is the reason why dashain is celebrated for ten days and the event is generally followed with several name for ten days. Rama, a Character of Ramayana is indeed a person to be followed and have a positive role for the society and Ramayana was thought to be demon and evil for the society. This festival BADA DASHAIN signifies or reveals the same victory of Rama over Ravana with the strength and support of Goddess Durga.
Dashain is also a season of flying kites and enjoying the utmost traditions among the Nepali culture. For I like dashain for several reasons, I too dislike the festival for the very reason that it includes slaughtering, to term it specifically, sacrificing of animals in name of religious faith.

Dashain is genuinely a happy festival for nepali like us but I wonder dashain could been Great if it was celebrated without any sacrifice of animals. Anyway I don’t want to blame the tradition and yes, finally best wishes on account of Dashain to all the readers of this blog.

NASA'S DAWN SPACE PROBE

NASA'S PROBE LAUNCHED

Ceres, the largest object in the asteroid belt and Vesta, third largest and brightest object in the asteroid belt that orbits the sun, are going to be explored by the Nasa’s dawn space probe, a U.S spacecraft. Long eight years journey of the spacecraft will be covering nearly five billion kilometers during its journey. According to NASA, the dawn will reach vista in 2011 before reaching to Ceres in 2015. The dawn successfully blasted at 11 34 GMT (1234 BST) from the Cape Canaveral Air force Station.

Ceres is spherical in shape and is thought to harbor a layer of water ice some 60 to 120km (40 to 80 miles) thick beneath its hard surface. Vesta is very different from Ceres. It is devoid of any water and appears to have been resurfaced by ancient lava flows.
The mission is going to be a great exploration in field of the formation of solar system. It aims to study the internal structure, shape and size of the two asteroids, examine the surface features and the craters and many more.
Dawn shall be assisting in exploration by sending photographs of the surfaces such as mountain, craters that shall help to process to be a success.
The mission to the asteroids can be seen in the diagram.

NANO TUBES OF LIVING ANIMALS

“Carbon nano tubes, which are more smaller than living cells in human beings are used to detect the disease in human beings earlier than currently possible,” said research co –author Bruce Weisman, professor of chemistry. *(Science Daily)

The optical images of such carbon nano tubes were captured for the first time by the scientists of Rice University. The researchers, about the technique confirmed that it was capable of detecting DNA sized nano tubes inside living organisms.
Researchers have studied how carbon nanotubes interact with tissues of rabbits, mice and other animals, but Weisman and co-author Kathleen Beckingham, professor o f biochemistry and cell biology, chose something smaller -- the fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster -- to attempt the first-ever detection of nanotubes inside a living animal.

"Drosophila is one of biology's preeminent model organisms," said Beckingham. "We have a wealth of knowledge about the genetic and biochemical workings of fruit flies, and this presents us with unique opportunities to explore the effects and fate of single-walled carbon nanotubes in a living organism."

Last time, I got an opportunity to enroll in a concert in my own hometown, a concert dubbed “Icons and Idols “organized by Spice Nepal. The concert was from the participants from the Indian idol, a famous live performance or T.V reality talent show and I was surprisingly shocked to see the number of spectators for the performance. Approximately thirty thousands, age group ranging from five to sixty five. Genuinely, it was the real potential of live performance.

Whether it is American idol, Indian idol, T.V reality shows such as Big brother or any other live performances, millions of people are crazy towards it. Live performances have created a unique identity via several means of Information and communication technologies in this modern world of hi-tech. There was time when limited people had access to the particular live performance, had to visit theaters and halls, but for the modern world, its uncountable people around the globe watching the performances of music and drama live by means of technology or any other. ICT indeed has a crucial role to emphasize the title of live performances. Also, the craze of concerts of music and performances has been by and large. So, how could a question arise ‘against’ the role of live performances in the modern world?

Live performances popularity can be supported from the fact that human society and performing arts were born at the same moment. Rites and roles of live performances can be traced back to ancient past and can be detailed to continuous follow till the modern era. Live performances give meaning to our real world of music and drama. Theaters and Stages are even crucial spaces of modern society to play out the panacea for the problems. Undoubtedly, living interactions between the performer and the audience still bits at the heart of modern society.

Live performances, which have similar connotations with real world and reality shows, are being vital part of modern world and society. People not only take the live performances as a greater source of entertainment but also use live performance to explore the potentials. No doubt, the landscape of live performances has changed dramatically with the up growing technology but they still carry the same empathy. One live performance I would like to mention is that of Peking opera of china, a blend of dance theatre and acrobatics. Essentially, an amalgamation of various regional theatre styles, the Peking Opera was very popular in the late 18th century and is still a vital part of Beijing’s cultural life. Today live performance is also being flourished in terms of Performance Art, presentational genre of art, which, along with a strong visual element, usually incorporates elements of theatre or film, dance or movement, poetry, or music, and usually involves a degree of improvisation. Such instances in the way or other corroborate the potent role of live performances in modern lives and so modern world.

Live performances popularity in the modern world can be substantiated by the fact that US only has as many as seven thousands organizations that present the live performances. Bringing live performances to some six Million Americans each week and generating revenues at the rate of nearly $5 billion annually, these organizations act in favor of cultural popularity of live performances. The organizations such as DDCF (Doris Duke charitable foundation) have promoted live performances in the modern world by sponsoring the first nationwide survey performing arts presenters: the organizations that bring audiences together with musicians, dancers, actors, and other artists who create live performances.

Live performances are almost ubiquitous in modern world in terms of Music and Drama. I absolutely agree that the role of live performances is much more crucial in terms of music and drama. This is because I believe in the fact that All forms of performance art share two elements: first, the various parts of the performance function disharmoniously, in the tradition of visual-art collage, which is based upon assembling elements normally found apart; second, a piece of performance art must be live, because a recorded piece, whether on film or audiotape, has no spontaneity.
Let’s preserve the trend to insist the encouragement and support for the future of art and performances of music and drama, and for the realization of most life enhancing potentials of globalism.

PRASHNAT, FINALIST OF INDIAN IDOLS

Indian idol’s craze is increasing day by day and with its millions of viewers round the world, it has gained a great fame and popularity. Even in my country, I am glad to see the popularity of Indian idol, especially because of Prashant Tamang, one of the Nepali members for Indian idol. Prashnat Tamang is recently being covered by all Nepali news media and the viewers for Indian Indian idol have increased unabatedly because of the success of prashant in Indian idols. Prashant, for his performance this week, got more than 50 lakhs votes and has finally reached to the finals of Indian idol.

I was amazed to see the respect and love, prashant got in his home town Darjeeling, was greater than any other participants of Indian idol. Prashant has already been termed as NEPALI IDOL by many nepali news media and is the favourite of all Nepali ones and of course Indian security personnels. I am sure the support prashant Tamang got in Indian idol from Nepalese has not only made prashant Tamang a Live boy but also has united Nepalis and made proud of our identity. Prashant Tamang speaking on Indian idol told that he loved the unity of the people irrespective of caste, religion, parties etc. well, it’s a matter of fact that Prashant Tamang has given a lesson to Nepalese that wherever we live we are Nepalese and we are proud and always ready to help each-other. Lots of thanks to Prashant.

Well, with Indian idol there are PRASHANT and AMIT for the Indian idol finals. Emon was voted out of Indian idol this week due to the least votes among the participants. Prashant is indeed a strong candidate for Indian idol and we all wish him success to be an INDIAN IDOL. Even if not, I am sure he is already the Nepali Idol as well as Indian idol of all Nepalese. Today,Google is one of the most popular search engines. I too spend a lot of time with google. No matter whatever i need for studies, entertainment or anything else, i prefer google. Google has been very popular from learners to professionals. I really admire its service.

The former SMS is that it wants to increase the popularity of SAI BABA, or its religion. Do you follow such SMS??? It’s up to you but I don’t do. Who cares?

Do you know that the students of mustang are goona get laptop each? We all must thank the Danish Government to help the Nepalese government in doing this? Well, I am not going to talk about the government or the mustang students in this article but I am going to talk about such laptops that are efficient in helping those remote area students or the developing nations. Recently, a team of U.S based researchers have re- invented special laptops in order to change the way of learning among the students of poor or developing countries.
The laptop, on my left is popular being a $100 laptop (so cheap). It is thought to help in the countries or areas where there is limited supply of electricity. While the laptop is totally different from the normal laptop, it will function in simple areas such as using word, or even can be used for surfing internet. The laptop is designed to use the battery for many hours i.e. more than 13 hours. The outwardly appearance resembles to be like a child play laptop, but indeed, is a very efficient device.
It’s well designed to serve effectively and proficiently. The feature includes, high energy saving, designed data, good connectivity and most of all the Power Generator. The noteworthy feature is that when the laptop goes to sleep and CPU is hibernating, the screen is still readable. There is no hard drive in this laptop; instead there is a storage memory chip in the mother board to save data. It uses programs that use the processor very less (Processor is of 433 MHz). God old fashioned elbows are also sought to generate the power for the laptop along with the electricity. Even there are more interactive features related to connectivity and processes as compared to our conventional computer.
The laptop is already tested in the fields’ i.e. in Nigeria and Brazil. The laptop is soon going to be released in parts of the world. Despite its efficiency, the concept of providing laptops is criticized with respect to the ability and policy of the developing countries. It is true the developing countries have even not fulfilled the basic requirements for studies in the remote areas and going on with policy of proving laptops for education is even far from the dream. However the project can be successful if helped by the developed nations and the service providers such as Intel and Microsoft. Let’s hope there will be a change in educational systems of developing countries by introducing such computers to the students.

Last time when i visited You tube to post a video for this blog what i found was this national song was manipulated or designed in thier way and was posted to you tube which had more than 7000 views . See the manipulated video was viewed by more than 7000 persons and this has certainly negative impact on our national song.I request evrybody; please do know the value of National Song. we should flourish our theme of the song to the world but not by manipulating it. INCREASING E-CRIMES

When e-mail rows up in your junk box you probably think it to be suspicious and can’t dare to open it. Apart from those, you too probably have faced some threats in your P.C due to opening of such suspicious emails if any. If not I am sure you sometimes are feed up with deleting the unknown or spam emails. Well those anonymous e-mails are sent for some publicity or simply with harmful content with the links.
Last time I got a very peculiar email. It was a spam mail but I could not exactly figure out from where did that email came to me and rest of all it had all bizarre text, names, images, and links. More over all the spam mails have a common format generally. The picture you see on your left is also one of the spam emails which describe such mails in the best way. Generally spam emails can be verified through the following details. The name of the sender is only the name that the computer recognizes if not people or it is very odd. The email address of the sender includes the word of the first row of key board starting from the left and the company providing the domain of the email address doesn’t matches with the context of the email. The body part of the image is generally attracting picture with some text below it. The texts are the words that include some exclamatory sentences but don’t describe the picture or the firm. There is some extra text which try to convince you but its very random.

There are thousands of problems today that infect your computer via online. Commonly, these threats arrive via e-mails, instant messenger conversations, web-browsers etc and they affect your computer too fast that you may not get proper time to control them. The problems are increasing very fast while the solutions are limited. Even if you follow them then its sure you are gonna avoid most of the unusual problems in your p.c.
The first thing every computer must possess is an antivirus. Its obvious most of the computer use them but they should be frequently updated so that they are properly acquainted with latest virus definitions. There are many antivirus out in market today. Even if you don’t afford to buy any of them, there are many free programs such as avira, avg, avast which you download for free. (This blog also has some free antivirus programs on your right to download for free). Firewalls also help in P.C. security. If you are using a windows X.P the you probably have a firewall with it. However it is complained that X.P’s Firewall doesn’t work well, so you have antivirus that have its own fire wall.
Browsing the net has several problems and you can experience several threats via net surfing. Have you ever noticed some softwares are directly installed to your P.C without any notice while some say that this site requires this particular software and asks you to install it ?Antispyware can be a useful tool in this context to take hold of those specially crafted websites. Many security specialists suggest using browsers such as firefox or opera instead of Internet explorer. (If you wish to use fire fox you can download it from he left side of this blog.)
If you are a windows user try to download the latest updates available provided for free. Microsoft also provides the security patches for free to windows users monthly. In addition, if you want to be protected with the e-threats than do not open your junk e-mails. Even if you open it, never visit the links that are addressed in the mails. Try not to download the attachments included in the mails that are classified under junk. Never reply to the junk emails and try to keep you operating systems and ant viruses up-to-date.

Finally, never visit suspicious sites.E-crimes have increased unabatedly no matter whether they have developed in form of E-mails, site hacking, P.C Tracking or any. Concerns should be really aroused and everyone should be made aware of it. There should be a need to control on such e-crimes. I think many of you know just few days ago the site of un was hacked by Turkish or some other hackers. This indeed could create a serious problem and so internet shall prove to be a curse to modern society. Let’s act against such e-crimes.

GOOGLE ENDS VIDEO SERVICE

I am sure if I talk about Google nobody is going to feel new about it but if I talk about the news that Google is gonna stop its one of the most popular services i.e. online video service then certainly its gonna be one of the important issue.

The most popular search engine Google is going to stop its video service from 15th of august. The service that sold and rented online video provided by Google is shutting down. It has restricted the users who have bought or rented the content from viewing them. In addition the Google has mailed to its customers that it won’t refund the worth they used for the service. Instead customers are being offered fixed credit on the firms online payment system, Google checkout.

Google started off its service of providing right to watch a wide range of videos since inception of January. This was hitting the market very efficiently as people invested a limited dollars (up to $20)to access a video for life time on Google site. This attempt of Google is probably done to emphasize another videos site “You tube” which Google bought last year for 1.65 billions. The popularity and fame of you tube had made Google videos almost of no use.
Many critics think the move of the Google to be one of the mistakes. But I think it’s a new plan of google to improve its service. Let’s be optimistic and hope Google shall refine its service in a better way. Enjoy Google…………………………

INDIAN IDOL III

INDIAN IDOL'S CRAZE

When the clock on the left of this blog strikes 21:15 hours on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the recorded version of Indian idol begins on Sony entertainment television with million of viewers around the world. After the success of two great mega episodes of Indian Idol I and II, Sony entertainment television again continued up with the Third version of Indian Idol.
It was probably three years ago when Indian Idol started on. I also was one of the regular viewers of Indian Idol then. Thousands of participants competed for the title and it was really a great platform to explore the melodious voices of participants such as Abhijeet Sawant, Amit Sana, Rahul Vaidya and many more.The first Indian idol ended awarding Abhijeet Sawant with the title of Indian Idol. No sooner the Indian Idol I has ended, sony entertainment launched the second Indian idol. The program also became a grand success exploring voices of several contestants.
At present we have another great mega episode with us “INDIAN IDOL III” with limited participants and just for next forty days. The program has now just four participants and just thirty days to wrap up. The Top four participants that will be continuing for Indian idol in next series of programs are 1.Prashant, 2.Amit, 3.Emon 4.Ankita. The program is co-ordinated on stage with two hosts, Mini and hussain, four judges namely Javed, Alisa, Udit and Anu Mallik.
It’s always fun with Indian idol not just to see the singing performance of participants but also to see the opinion fighting of the judges. Hardly the judges agree with each-other and so there begins the war among the dog and cat creating confusion to participant and audience about the quality of his/her singing. The leading participant, I think is Prashant not because he is from Nepal but the personality he has and quality of singing he delivers. I am sure more than Eighty percent of the viewers from Nepal are only due to Prashant. Yes he is a Nepali and representing Nepali voice in the Indian Idol. It’s indeed great that he is serving the Indian police in the post of his father after his (his Father’s) demise. He has really won the hearts of many Nepalese. Thanks to udit, who still confuses himself calling Nepali/Indian, that he supports Prashant at every cost. Really Prashant Rocks Indain Idol.
GOOD BYE DEEPALI
Indian Idol too becomes a regrettable event when someone has to leave the competition. Recently, we had to loose Deepali from Indian Idol. I was really shocked when mini announced deepali’s name for obtaining least votes among the competents. After a long discussion and as usual conflicts among the judges, deepali was announced to be voted out whilst the other two danger zone participants Ankita and Emon were safe for next series. Really the judges were in opinion to loose ankita. Her performance also became a issue of discussion. Alisa supported saying that it would be better to recruit some dancers instead of singers if it were to care the performance in Indian Idol. Javed also supported saying Udit is there in Indian idol not because of his performance but of his top singing (voice). It was only anu mallik who supported Ankita among the three And it was almost sure that Ankita was voted out from Indian idol but to surprise of everyone Deepali had to leave the stage.
Surely many viewers are gonna miss her in upcoming series of Indian idol. While its competition its sure someone is gonna win and someone gonna loose. Yes, competition is because of competents, no matter whether they loose or win they are gonna remain a credit for the part of the event to make it successful.
Fond farewell Deepali ! !And best of lucks to Prashant. !!!!!!!!!!!

EXPLORING UNIVERSE

LARGEST EXPO-PLANET DISCOVERED

The trend of exploring the universe is increasing at a very fast rate. No sooner we learnt that the scientists found a planet similar to earth, we now came to learn that scientists discovered another amazing planet. Amazing in the sense it is seventy times greater than the Jupiter and the largest known planet.
The planet namely TrES-4 was discovered by international team of astronomers. Don’t worry the planet doesn’t lies in our solar system. It was found orbiting another star. The transiting planet shocked the astronomers as it very huge i.e. about 70% larger than the Jupiter. But the presumed "gas giant" has a much lower mass than Jupiter - the biggest planet in our Solar System - making it of extremely low density. It is so big that is really hard to explain its size through the current theories on superheated giant theories. It is said that Its density of 0.2 grams per cubic centimeter is so low that the planet would, in theory, float on water.
The observers said”With our telescopes and observing techniques, we can measure this tiny drop in the star's brightness and deduce the presence of a planet there” the most interesting thing is that this planet makes a complete revolution around its parent star in 3.55 days. The year of this planet is even shorter than the earth.

Nasa to launch Mars polar probe

Nasa is to launch a spacecraft on a nine-month journey to Mars, where it will dig below the surface for clues to the existence of past or present life.

The Phoenix probe is scheduled to lift off on Saturday from Cape Canaveral, Florida, atop a Delta II rocket. It will have one opportunity to launch at 0526 EDT (1026 BST) followed by a second chance at 0602 EDT (1102 BST). Phoenix was to launch on Friday, but severe weather conditions prevented fuelling of the rocket's second stage.This left little contingency time in the schedule, forcing Nasa officials to move the launch from Friday to Saturday. If everything goes to plan, Phoenix should arrive at Mars in late May 2008. The US space agency wants to land the probe on relatively flat terrain at a Martian latitude equivalent to northern Alaska on Earth.

On these northern plains, water ice is thought to lie just a few tens of centimetres below the surface, within reach of the lander's 2.4m (7.5ft) robotic arm. Scientists estimate the ice content of the upper metre of soil in this region could be as high as 50-70%. The mission will aim to shed light not only on the history of this water ice but also on whether the region could support microbial life. Crucial to this question will be tests for complex, carbon-based chemicals (organics) in the soil and signs the ice periodically melts.

On the surface, the solar-powered craft will deploy its robotic arm to dig down vertically through the soil towards the icy crust. The arm will deliver samples of soil to the lander's deck for analysis by a powerful suite of instruments. These will check the samples for water and organics, characterise the physical properties of the soil, determine abundances of different minerals, and subject dust grains to microscopic examination. Mission scientist Dr Tom Pike, from Imperial College London, told BBC News: "We will have the first imaging instrument to zoom in on individual dust grains. Dust is important because it cloaks the planet and has engineering and atmospheric consequences. "The two US rovers [currently on Mars] are suffering at the moment because a global dust storm is cutting off the power from their solar panels." The spacecraft will also conduct a study of the Martian polar atmosphere and weather. The $420m (£206m) mission is so-named because it carries with it the legacies of two earlier failed attempts to explore Mars.
The lander was built for the Mars Surveyor mission originally planned for 2001, but mothballed by Nasa in 2000. And many science instruments for Phoenix were built or designed for Mars Polar Lander which was lost as it entered the Martian atmosphere in 1999. The spacecraft's launch window from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station extends until 24 August.

Atlantis Lands Sucessfully in California

SUCESSFULLY LANDS ATLANTIS

Space Shuttle Atlantis descended to a smooth landing at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., concluding a successful assembly mission to the International Space Station. With Commander Rick Sturckow and Pilot Lee Archambault at the controls, Atlantis landed at 3:49 p.m. EDT on Friday.

The challenges posed during STS-117 are invaluable learning experiences that will help the agency prepare for future exploration, William Gerstenmaier, NASA's associate administrator for space operations, explained at a post-landing press conference.

"My hat's off to the team that really pulled off an awesome mission," he said. The astronauts are set to return to their home base, Johnson Space Center in Houston, on Saturday. According to Shuttle Launch Director Mike Leinbach, Atlantis may be returned to Kennedy Space Center in Florida in six or seven days. At that point, the orbiter will immediately begin processing for the STS-122 mission, set to launch late this year.

The STS-117 crew began its mission June 8 and arrived at the station June 10. They quickly began work to install the Starboard 3 and 4 (S3/S4) truss structure to the outpost and retracted a set of arrays on the Port 6 (P6) truss. The (S3/S4) contains a new set of solar arrays that increases station power-generation capabilities. The P6 will be relocated during a future assembly mission. Mission Specialists Patrick Forrester, John “Danny” Olivas, Jim Reilly and Steven Swanson conducted a total of four spacewalks to activate the S3/S4 and to retract the P6 arrays. During the third spacewalk, Olivas repaired an out of position thermal blanket on the left orbital maneuvering system pod.

Landing also marked the end of a record-setting spaceflight by Mission Specialist Suni Williams. She broke the record for the longest spaceflight by a woman early in the morning on June 16. Williams' journey began in December with the launch of STS-116. She lived on the space station for six months before switching places on the STS-117 crew with Clayton Anderson, who is now a flight engineer on the station. When Atlantis landed, she had accumulated 194 days, 18 hours and 58 minutes during her spaceflight.

STS-117 is the 118th shuttle mission and 21st mission to visit the space station. The next mission, STS-118, is slated to launch in August.
