Karachuonyo parliamentary race has narrowed down to three contesters; Hon George Rachuonyo,Hon Adipo and Hon Odidi.

The heat to unseat Mr. James Rege has been intensified by his previous declaration that he has defected to Jubilee party.

Most of the MP aspirants are aimed at clinching the ODM ticket to procure.Top contester, Hon. George Rachuonyo enjoys support from youths who desire change from old guards.

With BCom Accounting, he's also a holder of MBA finance.Currently he's a financial controller working with USAID.

George Rachuonyo have been actively involved in Karachuonyo politics for the past ten years.He became a life member of ODM in 2006 while still a student and have never deviated from the course hitherto he's a fully paid up member of ODM.

In 2006,together with other Karachuonyo activists like Mbara Wuod Kakdhimu and 38 others,they were recruited into political leadership which was sponsored by Friedrich Ebert Stiftung and Youth Agenda lasting for a year.

In 2007,after the great training he got ambitious and attempted to run for parliamentary office in Karachuonyo.

In 2009,he mobilised the youth across Karachuonyo

For the first ever universal ODM grassroots election.Mr. Rachuonyo have been seen actively participating in communal activities,fund raisings,constituency's projects hence giving him a upper hand in winning this fast coming election.

In 2010,he brought a project supporting HIV prevention among the youth and pregnant women.They worked with health facilities and most days they would record 80-90% infection rate.

Early this year,he recorded more than 2000 new registration through the Kanyaluo Kipande Initiative that he started on 2015.Two weeks ago,he recorded about 800 new ones in Wang'chieng ward and another one awaiting in Kandiege.

Hon. Rachuonyo when contacted,he stated that he want to impact the lives of youths,women and elders through direct interventions and legislation.

Has worked in development for over 20 years and has seen lives and communities transformed something that has put him in the limelight.He took 238 YOUTHS to Nairobi for EMPLOYMENT and lately another took 12.It's still ongoing.More than 200 are still employed except for some few who were expelled due to misconduct and he had to rescue them from cell(s).This is the primary reason for emergence of a slogan "youths tuko na Rachuonyo chuny Karachuonyo",a slogan used by the youth to express their love for Mheshimiwa.

Some of George Rachuonyo's flagship projects which he was able to communicate to a Whatsaap youthful group are;
1.Recruiting 300 vulnerable elders all over Karachuonyo and giving them medical insurance which is alongside monthly allowance.
2.Initiating a major agribusiness initiative that will create employment and food to the people of Karachuonyo.
3.Founding a strong tertiary institution that support skill development for the youth.
4.Creating more job opportunities for over 2,000 youths(something he's already doing before he's elected)
5.Ensuring Government services are channelled appropriately whether through devolved funds or directly by the national government.
6.Establishing communal water points where people can buy safe water cheaply.
Partnering with the public health office to ensure proper treatment of water is employed for domestic use.Currently,there's piped water from R.Oluch which has traversed homes and he will empower people to access it.

When asked to give a comment about cash crop farming he said"Let me give a scenario.It's no doubt that Karachuonyo is ripe for horticulture.Can you imagine a large flower farm employing about 2,000 people producing flowers regularly and processing them through Kabunde airstrip onward to Nairobi and Europe?"

Hon. George Rachuonyo didn't promise people heaven.He has done much more than what is laid in his manifesto.

"I'm going to be elected.I will do my role and ensure that the government services are channeled accordingly.Whether through devolved funds or directly by the national government.Remember it's the rights of Kenyans to be served by the government",He Said.

Following a report by the Controller of Budget, Agnes Odhiambo, that some Governors are colluding with Members of County Assembly (MCAs) to steal billions of taxpayer’s money, we dispatched a team to all the 47 Counties to identify who are the best performing Governors and the worst of the crop.

Last month, we published a report showing all 47 Governors and the useless foreign trips they have undertaken with or without their MCAs.

We also followed that with a list of all Governors and the money they returned to the treasury because they could not come up with proper projects for their Counties despite poverty levels rising in some of these regions.

In our latest report, we have based the performance index on the following metrics:

Infrastructural Development Plans.

Socio-Political Policy Development.
Procurement Policies and Procedures (Adherence to PPOA)
Budgeting and Finance (Expenditure)

Human Resource Policy and Guidelines (Do they conform to the National Government?)

Development Policy Framework (Visions and Work papers – Some don’t have)

At the Kenyan KENYA WEST, our job is to ensure all Kenyans across the political divide are well informed on the performance of their Governors from the best performing Governor to the most despicable one.

Our list is based on other national reports like that of the Controller of Budget who said most Counties have used more than 90 percent to pay their salaries and finance their amorous lives instead of developing their areas.

Normally after winning an election,you will see most presidents rewarding their close friends and relatives top government seats.

Is President Pombe Magufuli trying to play brain games with the grandsons of Julius Nyerere ?...

President Pombe Magufuli has started off government business not so autonomously as most Tanzania citizens and other African folks in statehouse would expect.

This post captures Hon. Magufuli's post election action plan presidential Diary:

Last weekend they were opening parliament and there was a state dinner planned for all guests that was going to cost about 300m. President Magulufi cut the budget to 25m and ordered that the rest be taken to buy hospital beds for Muhimbili they got 300 beds and mattresses and 600 bed sheets from that money.

On 23rd Nov 2015 he announced that there will be no official ceremonies for Independence Day on 9th December, the money is to be used for more pressing issues and the day should instead be spent cleaning up our environment.

On Saturday 21st nov 2015 a group of 50 people were about to set off for a tour of commonwealth countries (don’t know for what) but President Magulufi cut that list down to 4 people, saving government 600m in tickets, accommodation and per diems

No more foreign travel, embassies will take care; if it’s necessary to go, special permission must be sought from him or Chief Secretary

No more 1st class and business class travel for all officials except President, Vice, and Prime Minister.

No more workshops and seminars in expensive hotels when their so many ministry board rooms available.

President Magulufi asked how come engineers are given V8s when a pick-up is more suitable for their jobs.

No more sitting allowances, how the hell are you paid allowance for a job which you have a monthly salary; that also applies to MP’s.

President Magulufi has literally pressed the reset button; returning Tanzania to default factory settings, because that was the TZ Nyerere left us with.

On the day after he was brought to power, in the morning as State House officials were showing him round he decided to take a walk to ministry of finance, told them to get their act together, asked why some employees weren’t in office (ever since then the traffic jam in mornings has become worse) and ordered TRA to scrap all tax exemptions, everyone must pay taxes especially the big guys

President Magulufi went to Muhimbili Hospital unannounced and walked thru the worst parts that they keep hiding from important visitors he fired the director, fired the hospital board and ordered that all machines that weren’t working (so that people go to private hospitals owned by some doctors) to be repaired within 2 weeks otherwise he fires even the new director; the machines were repaired in 3 days

Finally, last week when going to officially open parliament President Magulufi didn’t go by plane, drove the whole 600km from Dar to Dodoma.

President Magulufi has reduced the size of the presidential convoy, even reduced the size of presidential delegation that travels with him

President Magulufi chose a Prime Minister we haven’t heard of before, a guy with reputation for hard work and no corruption all the big guys we expected could be PM have been let wondering what hit them.

His motto is: Hapa Kazi Tu

After President Magulufi visited Ministry of finance and Muhimbii Hospital without announcing it is said the port (most corrupt, delaying, thieving officials) were all of a sudden the most efficient place. No loads are missing, things are done quickly and that habit of forcing for a bribe so that your container is released is no more.

Oh, they say when he was confirmed as winner people started congratulating him and wanting to bring gifts to his place he turned them back, saying he will receive all congrats over the phone, nobody should visit him.

All individuals/firms that bought state companies that were privatized but haven’t done anything (20yrs later) are to either revive the industries immediately or hand them back to the government.

Ballot position; most voters would prefer the high ranked candidates own the respective ballot paper ;as a candidate ,you should supposedly wish your name came first on the Ballot paper.

Campaign activities (important for the candidates name recognition and saliency) ;this the magic social media can give when diligently employed ;door to door conversation can also do you great.

Social media followers; will influence the number of preference votes one gets in the elections.

Direct contact; between the candidates would even do better, candidates who will even get their time sending direct messages to their otherwise expectant followers gain the lions share of the ballot .

Social media presence not also symbolize modernity of a candidate but also depicts the closeness of the candidate to his close followers; It will be foolish for a candidate who creates a group or a page which he doesn’t update its content.

Winning Team; voters would want their preferred candidate to be assorted with the definite winners in the elections. Lone rangers in the elections struggle much hence most voters would rather shy off

Peer pressure ;The candidates should identify the other preferences of their followers in the other seats and try to resonate alongside but carefully not to go personal with other docket contenders

Leaders to Captain the To be the first reformed union should be guys who have bet the Test of time and whose SWOT Analysis yields an exponential trend in Student advocacy while in offices..
Apparently we have had a indigenous breed of leaders who never rested their buts in office amid to evade chance for consultation by a comrade.
In this University, it takes a students at least 2 years to discover the rather theoretical Union OFFICES.

Nobody is perfect??, That has been the traditional Kenyan way of evading responsibility when found on the wrong side. "Don't bring allegations here that mara ooh nani squandered our funds"

Ladies and Gentlemen of this Institution, There is an elephant in the room.

BURNING ISSUES:

This Union has 36000 persons each who subscribes ksh. 200 union fee per period, for 2 periods union, total = 36000 x200 x 2 = 21, 600,000 ( twenty one million, six hundred thousand shillings only).

We should be made aware; Otherwise we will demand that the whole amount be presented back to the people, then we set up a bursary committee and use the whole amount to give bursaries to all students who have fee balances.#momentoftruth

So ; just committed a political suicide...You cannot insult the comrades and expect them to re-elect you...Come that time; we shall demonstrate to you that we always think big.

We shouldn't allow current Union officials, whether executive or otherwise to continue masquerading and seeking cheap attention by hiding behind excuses and blaming one another for our current problems. Some of these officials just want to point fingers at the Chairman when we know too well they have also not done well.

We wanted Union to succeed but they did everything to ensure it failed. Today we have lost hope and faith in you and we will tell each and every person to ensure you are exterminated without sympathy. Please just do the remainder of your work well and leave because you not only disappointed us but also betrayed us.

We are sending a powerful warning to you all that we will not be insane to reward you with another position if you can't perform in the position you already have.
