It’s official. Riri and Chris Breezy are officially over…or at least for now.

The former couple spent the weekend 3000 miles away from each other, with Chris living it up in Vegas for his birthday, and Rihanna spending her Saturday at the Barclays Center. Rihanna looked unimpressed with the Nets vs. Bulls game (which postponed her concert) as she sat courtside with Ty Ty and Jay-Z’s granny in eye-catching Brian Atwood Gladiator Sandals.For some time now, Chris and Rihanna have been keeping their fans guessing on whether they were on or off, but Chris finally let the cat out of the bag during a recent interview with “The Kyle and Jackie O Show.” When asked what he’d consider to be a good gift, Chris made the comment that he wanted to see as many girls as possible in Vegas, which prompted the radio host to ask if he was rolling solo:

Yeah, I’mma do it solo. I mean at the end of the day, shawty doing her own thang. She on the road… It’s always gonna be love… I’m a grown man, just gotta fast forward.

When asked if he felt as though Rihanna was his soul mate and if they would always end up back together, Chris responded:

I’ll just put it like this, one thing I always want to do is never disrespect nobody or put nobody down. The way I look at it is that I am always gonna love that person and people have different wants and needs. At the end of the day, she’s a young girl. I can’t really be focused on wifing someone that young. And I’m young too so I can’t focus on that right now. I gotta step forward and be a man and be the best Chris Brown I can be instead of worrying about whoever else is gonna be on my side pocket.

He was also asked if his recent track, “I Can’t Win” was about Rihanna, and he responded:

For me, it’s basically about anything in general. My music speaks for itself. Whatever you take from it, it’s exactly what I wrote.

SSS Parades Suspect Hired By Governor Akpabio To ‘Kill’ Senator Etok

Adelola Tamunotonye Olaore, alias, ex-militant, extort money, General Africa

The State Security Service (SSS) today paraded a suspect, ex-militant Adelola Tamunotonye Olaore, alias "General Africa" over a plot to assassinate and extort money from Senator Aloysius Etok in Abuja.

Senator Etok is the man that Governor Goodswill Akpabio openly admitted having rigged into office, although the Senator has said his election was transparent.
But Senator Etok also occupies the Ikot Ekpene Senatorial Seat, the same seat that the governor covets in 2015 when he cannot run for a third term, giving the impression it is merely being held in trust for him.

The suspect, who was born in Port Harcourt, hails from Okeho in Kajola Local Government of Oyo State. He confessed to having been contracted by three of Governor Akpabio’s loyalists to assassinate Senator Etok. In order to convince the Senator [he was not lying] he offered to furnish him with details of the Governor’s purported Bank Account and Energy Company in South Africa.

Adelola said that he wanted to broker peace between Governor Akpabio and Senator Etok, having followed the political wrangling between the duo over the Ikot Ekpene Senatorial Seat.

He confessed to having used the political rift to extort money but he was apprehended by the security operatives.

That development following a directive from the SSS to the Senator who had written a letter to the service titled “REPORT OF THE PLANNED ASSASINATION BY A MAN WHO CALLS HIMSELF GENERAL AFRICA (AN-EX MILLITANT)”

The Senator was asked to play along with the suspect, leading to his arrest on April 29.
Governor Akpabio, a personal friend of President Goodluck Jonathan, has made it plain he will represent the Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District in the Senate in 2015, an ambition that has the entire Peoples Democratic Party machinery in the state behind him, including a faction of the legislature which recently adopted a resolution warning Senator Etok they will only support Akpabio’s Senatorial candidature in the forthcoming election.

Speaking recently in an interview about the political manipulations in Akwa Ibom State, the Senator said, “That is what happened during my second term struggle that as soon as they knew I was going to contest, my wife was kidnapped. After the release of my wife, my mother in law was kidnapped.

“When she was released, she died because of the torture she received in the hands of the kidnappers. As a result of that my father in law died out the heart break. Therefore, I also want Nigerians to ask Governor Akpabio what I have done to him. I have not done anything to him. I want all of you, like I am going to send a petition to the President, to ask Governor Akpabio to let me be. That his hit squad which he has resurrected should let me live. If anything happens to me, I want the world to know that Governor Akpabio is after my life.”

Nigerian Air Force Alpha jet on Monday crashed in Niamey, Niger Republic, killing two pilots, says Defence spokesman Brig.-Gen. Chiris Olukolade.

The two officers are Squadron Leader Adoo and Flying Officer Layelmenson.

Report says the jet, which crashed earlier today in Niger Republic, was involved in military operations against insurgents in Mali.
Chris Olukolade, the spokesman for the Defence Headquarters, confirmed the tragedy. He stated that the aircraft, an Alpha jet which was one of the four based in Niamey as part of the African-led Support Mission in Mali, was on a non-combat mission when it crashed.

Lieutenant Colonel Sagir Musa, JTF’s spokesman, added that investigations into the incident has begun and two key Boko Haram terrorists, Mohammed Ibn Saleh and Abdulkareem Ibrahim, have been pointed out as the brains behind the attack.

He added that an Investigation had begun “to unravel the circumstances that led to the accident”, adding that details would be made known as soon as the families of the pilots had been informed.

French and Chadian planes and US drones have used the Niamey airport as a base for their operations in Mali.

The 6,000-strong African-led International Support Mission to Mali (AFISMA) has taken over the lead from France in supporting Mali’s army in the battle against Al-Qaeda-linked extremists.

A French-led operation launched in January drove the Islamists from key cities they had seized in northern Mali. But the Islamists have turned to suicide bombings and guerrilla attacks in reclaimed territory.

A few weeks after welcoming his first new born baby in Atlanta, P Square – who is also known as P2 – had another baby delivered for him in a London hospital by a former beauty pageant contestant. However, this time, P Square has refused to claim paternal responsibility for the baby boy.
SaharaReporters learnt that the new baby’s mother is Elshama Benson Igbanoi, a 19-year-old and former Miss Plateau State. Our sources disclosed that she gave birth at the Queen Charlotte and Chelsea Hospital on Du Cane Road, London W12 0HS.

Our sources said the new mother had been in touch with P2, but he had not been forthcoming beyond telling her that he plans to arrive in London for a DNA test to ascertain paternity. SaharaReporters spoke to the woman’s father, Benson Igbanoi, in Abuja. Mr. Igbanoi stated that his daughter was faithful to the musician. He also revealed that he had sent several emails to P Square concerning his daughter’s pregnancy for him, but had received no response.

Another source said Elshama's family had contacted Paul Okoye's father and aunt to persuade the musician to accept responsibility for his baby.

NIGERIA: 39 Killed, 30 Injured, Houses Burnt As Christian & Muslim Mobs Clash

Thirty-nine people died and 30 were injured in fierce fighting between Christian and Muslim mobs in Taraba state on Friday, prompting a round-the-clock curfew, police said.

Scores of houses were set ablaze and destroyed during the clashes in the town of Wukari which come amid a surge in religious violence in the west African nation.

“We have so far compiled a death toll of 39 people while 30 others were seriously injured,” state police spokesman Joseph Kwaji told AFP on Saturday.

Local residents told AFP that the death toll could rise.

“Thirty-two houses have also been destroyed in the violence,” Kwaji said of the unrest which has prompted authorities to impose an indefinite all-round curfew in the predominantly Christian city.

He added that 40 suspects were arrested in the aftermath of the violence.

State information commissioner Emmanuel Bello said that extra troops were deployed to the city on Saturday to bolster security.

“We have deployed more troops today to Wukari to ensure that the situation, which has been brought under control, is strengthened,” he told AFP.

The police spokesman Kwaji said Friday’s violence erupted when the funeral procession of a traditional chief from the predominantly Christian Jukun ethnic group marched through a Muslim neighbourhood chanting slogans, which Muslims viewed as an act of provocation.

“The state governor has imposed a 24-hour curfew on Wukari which is aimed at restoring normalcy in the town” after the fighting, said Kefas Sule, spokesman for the state governor.

Tensions have been on the rise in Wukari since February, when a dispute over the use of a football pitch between Muslim and Christian soccer teams set off sectarian riots that claimed several lives.

Friday’s violence came a day after the state government inaugurated a committee to investigate the February violence.

It also follows a surge in violence and kidnappings in the restive north of Nigeria, the epicentre of an insurgency by Boko Haram Islamists, in recent months.

In late April fighting between soldiers and Islamic fighters in the remote northeastern town of Baga left 187 dead, according to the Red Cross, in the deadliest episode since the insurgency began in 2009.

An area senator put the death toll from the attack at 228, but details remain murky about the clashes which also left nearly half the town destroyed after massive fires.

Human Rights Watch on Wednesday released satellite images showing massive destruction in Baga, voicing concern that the military has “tried to cover up” abuses that should be investigated by the International Criminal Court.

The military has pushed back aggressively against these reports and fiercely denied claims that soldiers fired on civilians or deliberately torched scores of homes.

The global rights watchdog said the insurgency in north and central Nigeria by Boko Haram has claimed 3,600 lives since 2009, including killings by the security forces.

Nigeria’s former oil minister, Shettima Ali Monguno, 87, was kidnapped Friday by gunmen who stormed his vehicle outside a mosque in the restive city of Maiduguri, a stronghold of Boko Haram.

Government and security officials met late Friday in Maiduguri to discuss ways to effect his safe release, officials said.

Apparently Vanguard's reporter Yemisi Suleiman, Chioma Akpotha and Comedian AY were all on the same flight back to Lagos where they went to attend AMMA Awards. Yemisi and Chioma got into a fight. Today Vanguard published their own side of the story, but Comedian Ay is saying the story is quite different. Read both stories after the cut.

Like most Nollywood stars, Chioma Chukwuka-Akpotha is not given to pretence. She’s always ready to vibrate and return fire-for-fire.

Last Sunday evening was not different. Following the frustration and exhaustion that greeted everyone after the AMAA awards and the endless wait at the Port-Harcourt International Airport, Chioma boarded the evening flight back to Lagos, however something happened!

Vanguard reports that a quarrel ensued between Chioma and a Lagos based female journalist, Yemisi Suleiman (who was trying to interview her), which caused the actress to loose her temper in a manner that attracted the attention of everyone on board.

Chioma claimed that the journalist was rude to her, adding that most painfully, she “called me Igbo bitch and all that’. I wouldn’t blame her because AMAA brought us together. I can conveniently pay her salary,” she fumed.

A colleague of mine just said and I quote "I think Chioma needs to work on her anger issues especially in public...you will recall that she was the same person that disgraced herself even with fellow stars at the Gulder ultimate search for celebrities a few years back."

Recalling what happened between Chioma Akpotha and Yemisi (The Vanguard reporter) on the AMAA flight from Port Harcourt, one would have expected a cultured woman to be contrite and apologize forthwith, since everybody is error-prone. I crave your indulgence to say this not because the former is a movie star and the latter a journalist. More so, I dread not to raise my voice for the truth and my compassion against injustice.

It was quite unfortunate to read a report from today’s Vanguard Online in favour of Yemisi (their staff), as against Chioma Akpotha who was publicly insulted alongside every Igbo speaking individual on that flight, by Yemisi. Besides, if some of us do have the franchise to suffer disharmony with our personal values, I still want to believe that in reporting a case, Professional Journalism should keep it quite professional by not identifying with any side in an issue of this manner. But this is obviously not the case of the Vanguard reporter who wrote the story between Chioma Akpotha and Yemisi. The reporter in question has proven to me that fiction can sometimes make a better job of the truth and an exaggerated relativism.

How could you in every sense of professionalism start a story involving your fellow reporter and Chioma Akpotha by saying “Like most Nollywood stars, Chioma Chukwuka-Akpotha is not given to pretence. Determined to cause another stir on board? I am 100 per cent convinced that even a blind reader could perceive that your biased and fully loaded rifle was well targeted at the Nollywood actress from the very beginning of your report. My dear journalist (the almighty one with the ability to make and kill the career that was given by God), what happened to being objective and giving equal space to all sides in your news gathering?

So the best you could do to justify your false report was to hide the identity of the Vanguard reporter by concluding thus: “A quarrel ensued between herself and a Lagos based female journalist, which caused the actress to loose [sic] her temper in a manner that attracted the attention of everyone on board. But for the fact that she was on board, the visibly angry Chioma would have done the unexpected.

She claimed that the journalist was rude to her, adding that most painfully, she “called me Igbo bitch and all that’. I wouldn’t blame her because AMAA brought us together. I can conveniently pay her salary,” she fumed. Who cares!”

Now would you really like to know who cares? AY cares! And yes I was on that same flight like many other industry people including a good number of foreigners who flew in to be a part of AMAA 2013.

The poor Chioma only succeeded in getting her multiple visa of becoming a “lousy bitch” when Yemisi was brushing through the president of Eko International Film Festival, Mr. Hope Obioma Opara. She was obviously in a hurry to make the exit when the flight touched ground. All Chioma said to her was “take it easy they are yet to open the exit door”.

She brushed her way through to two other ladies who sat in front; the next word that came out of her mouth was “lousy Igbo girls”. Apparently, Chioma heard what she said and asked “did you just refer to me as a Lousy Igbo girl? The best response from your Yemisi was “what if I did?” (I am so sure she wouldn’t ask an Angelina Jolie or a Kim Kardashian that same question if she were to be on the same flight with any of them).

Perhaps she would have started twitting immediately, saying “AMAA things…. Kim just asked me to take it easy, they are yet to open the exit door. Wow wow wow 2013 my year of exit opening doors”). But definitely not to a Nollywood multiple awards winning happily married actress with kids. Chioma Akpotha, Grace Ama, and Nollywood producer Chinwe Egwuagu were still busy playing catch-up with Yemisi when she went on target again like the Boston Bombers to launch another verbal bullet.

This time she called them ‘LOUSY BITCHES’.

Chioma Akpotha managed to get off the bomb scene through the help of some of us who were on hand to stop the detonation of further bombs by Yemisi. Not even knowing she was a journalist from The Vanguard Newspapers, Chioma said “I will allow my God to fight you. It’s even possible that it is an Igbo person that is paying your salary. I wouldn’t blame you because AMAA brought us together. I am sure that I can convincingly pay your salary”.

For your information, Chioma Akpotha did not deserve all she got from your colleague ‘Yemisi’, whom you have proudly disguised or baptized to become a Lagos based Journalist. Who knows? Maybe by tomorrow “Miss Lagos based Journalist” could go through another baptism of fire to become “According to a reliable source”, all in the name of bringing down a fellow creation to the excitement of your colleague who ought to go to God and ask for forgiveness.

I hope she did not forget to let you into the corrective measures I gave to her? I am not a fan of anyone with uncultured attitude and public display of visible arrogance. Kindly ask her to remind you, so that I will not fail to be on your list of the next set of career-killing candidates. Or should I tell you the opinion of others concerning Yemisi on that same flight?

I guess there won’t be any need for that, because I am very sure of us having many more LOUSY BITCHES cut across the Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa, Ghanaians, South Africans and Americans on that AMAA flight. I would intentionally skip the question of the speedy hibernation in tribal cocoons, which is indeed unfortunate even as we try to push for a more detribalized mindset. (Please don’t mistake me for an Igbo man or take it that I am fighting for my “IGBO LOUSY BITCHES”. I am a full-blooded Yoruba Man like Yemisi)

Finally, my dear Madam Yemisi, kindly permit me to point out that contrition is a sign of strength, not weakness. To my “Amiable honorable I must defend my colleague till death”, I would like to plead with you in your capacity as a widely followed public reporter, to kindly grant objectivity its rightful place in your reports.

‘A lie can travel halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.’ But three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth. May we bear in mind that the Internet and social media have come to stay. We now have millions of followers who would at least hear our own side of the story before we are judged or criticised.

Kim Kardashian loves the paparazzi. Kanye doesn’t and it sucks for him since they manage to always be around.

Earlier today, Kim visited Kanye in Paris and they were immediately hounded by the paparazzi as they visited a few boutiques. Judging from video footage that has surfaced, Kim is so used to the cameras that she literally maneuvers as if they aren’t there. Meanwhile, Kanye acknowledged their presence and looked clearly annoyed. When a photographer attempted to make small talk with Kim, and asked her about her recent trip to Greece with her family, Kanye stopped, gave him a mean glare and said, “Don’t ask us no questions.”The photographer shut right on up while saying, “No problem, I’m not talking anymore” but if that was Halle Berry’s fiance, things might have panned out a lot differently.

Kanye may have been in better spirits if the paparazzi were more interested in his upcoming album than Kim’s trip to Greece, but that’s just a guess.
