It's Monday and Weekend Recap- Ghost Tour

Happy Monday my peeps!

How are you? Great, I hope! How was your weekend? Ours was GREAT! The hubby and I decided to get away for an early Valentine's Day weekend as it appears he will be working a lot between now and then and won't have a chance for a weekend getaway at that time. So... we headed off to Eureka Springs, Arkansas (if you've never been - you MUST GO! - BUT do NOT go in January as most everything is completley closed down). We stayed in the famous New Orleans Hotel:

and then decided to take a ghost tour at the ever so famous Crescent Hotel:

According to Ghost Hunters (a/k/a TAPS) - it is one of the most haunted hotels in the world. While there we were able to visit the "morgue" where "Dr. Baker" buried all of his "patients":

Well, hubby and I were up for an adventure so we decided to try out "Dr. Baker's Bistro & Sky Bar"

before the tour to have an appetizer and a drink:

Afterwards, we met up with the rest of the "ghost hunters" and went on our way. We heard stories from the little girl who fell over the banister from the 4th floor and they found her on the bottom step already dead:

to the story of a young woman who was staying there when it was an all girl's boarding school that "jumped" (or was she pushed?) to her death, to Michael the charming Irishman who was about 17 years old that fell to his death while on top of a scaffle when he decided to lean over and whistle at the pretty girls below and even the mysterious old lady who people actually see and talk to in the hall outside her room (though I'm not sure how she died there exactly).

Here are a few pictures from the tour that other people took in the past. I wasn't able to catch any orbs or anything with my camera so I was a bit bummed. But, oh well - it was a lot of fun anyway! :)

This is the image that was caught on the thermocam by the Ghost Hunters when they were there (I think it was in 2009). I got a picture of the locker (which is what the number 2 is on) but haven't looked at it to see if I was able to catch anything. However, I did stand by the locker in the same spot, which was an experience all on its own. :) Oh, did I mention that the locker was in the "morgue"? HA!

After the "great" tour - we actually met up with some friends that I've not seen in at least 20 years and had drinks with them. They were in town celebrating their 15 year anniversary:

And They're Off

Happy Tuesday my friends! Whew, I didn't realize how long it had been since I've posted on here. Just when I thought things would slow down after the first of the year, it has done just the opposite - eek! Things are just crazy busy here - how are they your way? Doing anything new and exciting? I officially started back on my Weight Watcher's diet yesterday morning - yay me! Now, let's hope I start seeing some poundage dropping for a change! :)

Anyway, on Saturday we hit the horsetrack in Hot Springs and hung out with my mommy for the day! We had a great time. Didn't hit it big, but didn't lose big either so it was a WIN WIN in my book! HA! Here are a few pictures from the day:

Partying It Up - Willy D Style

Happy Monday, my peeps! How are you? How was your weekend? Great, I hope! Ours was pretty good- but not all that great - it was kind of a tough one unfortunately. BUT on Saturday night, me, hubby, baby sister and her hubby went out to celebrate my husband's 43rd birthday and my sister's BIG 40 birthday! We started out at Outback where they came around and sang to them - which you know they just LOVED - NOT!!! HA!

After that we went to Willy D's in downtown Little Rock. For those of you who don't know what that is - it's a dualing piano bar and is a GREAT place to hang out! Check it out sometime if you are ever in the area!

As you can see, we had a great time! SO how was your weekend? Do anything fun and exciting? Can't wait to catch up with you and your blogs!

She Passed! Lookout drivers - stay off the road!

Happy TGIF my friends and welcome to the weekend! It just did NOT get here quick enough this week - I am literally worn out and exhausted from the last week of traveling, etc. I would love to have some down time this weekend - maybe... JUST MAYBE I can get my Christmas stuff finally down and put away - yes.... you read that right - my Christmas tree and stuff is STILL UP! *sigh* I've just NOT had a chance to get to it because we've been gone traveling and busy in general. Usually my stuff is packed away by New Year's Day, but not this year. Oh well... there are worse things in the world to worry about, aren't there?! Such as....

My daughter passed her written driver's test yesterday... FINALLY - I guess what they say is true - 3rd time's the charm! Since she's already 18, she only has to wait one month to take her driving part of the test. YIKES! I hope she passes with flying colors the first time around but it scares the beejebies out of me at the thought of her driving already! ACK! Here she is in all of her glory yesterday:

She is SOOO PROUD too! And she should be since it took the poor child 3 times to get it right! HA! But... to make matters worse - my 16 yo niece ALSO took her test yesterday and passed as well - this was her 2nd time to take it. Here she is with my daughter:

Talk about DOUBLE TROUBLE!!!! Me and my sister are terrified now for sure! So... if you live anywhere in the State of Arkansas - look out - and consider this your warning! There are two more new teenage drivers hitting the streets! ACK!

Well, I hope that you have a wonderful weekend ahead and can't wait to catch up to see what your plans involve. We are going out on Saturday night to celebrate my baby sister's 40th birthday and my husband's birthday (he turned 43 yesterday). Then on Sunday, it looks like we may be hitting the Horse Races and see if we can't win us some BIG money! HA! Yeah.... right!!!!

Happy Thursday guys and dolls! Hope you are having a great week so far! I don't know what the temperatures are like where you are, but here today it is VERY windy and EXTREMELY COLD. It is 39 outside but feels colder due to the high winds. The temperatures are supposed to be dropping all day.... BRRRRRRRR......

On another note, I couldn't let today pass by without wishing my wonderful and loving husband a very Happy 43rd birthday! He's finally caught up to me in age! LOL Although, he looks older, he is actually 8 months younger than me! What can I say, I like 'em young - hee hee hee

Seriously, happy birthday to my sweet husband of 14+ years. I love you dearly and feel so blessed to have you by my side and am so thankful we have weathered the storms and came out on the other side a much stronger couple. I love you, honey!

Wow, I can't believe it's been over a week now since I've been on my blog. What can I say though, life has just been crazy busy and especially due to the holidays it's been even crazier, as I'm sure the same has been for you! Due to the fact that we are getting ready to have family in starting in just a few minutes and until Monday after Christmas Day, I know I won't get a chance to get online here.

Anyway, I just wanted to stop by and wish my wonderful and faithful readers (yes, that's you) a very Merry CHRISTmas and a happy holiday season. I am hoping that the way the summer of 2011 has been up unti recently, that 2012 is a much better season for me and my family. I don't think I could take much more of what was thrown at me over the summer. Show Us Your Life - Christmas Tour of Homes!!!!!!

So that I can participate in Kelly's "Show Us Your Life - Christmas Tour of Homes" tonight - this post is going up a few hours early - I hope you enjoy!

HAPPY TGIF my friends and welcome to the weekend!! WOOT WOOT!!! I don't know about you, but this has been such a LONG week for me and it has just drug out so much that I am just plain pooped! HA! Hard to believe that a week from today is Christmas Eve, isn't it?! WHERE has the time gone? Sheesh. I am SO far behind on my Christmas shopping this year that we are having Christmas early as a family THIS SUNDAY and I have STILL not finished - ACK!!!

Anyway - on to the reason you stopped by! We've never been in THIS house ever for Christmas because we were always living out of state. So... this year, I went a little crazy with the decorations - but I love how they turned out. We were disappointed because we couldn't decorate our outside with lights due to the high ceilings and slippery slopes. I always LOVE to play along with Kelly's "Show Us Your Life - Christmas Tour of Homes" each year and love to see how everyone else decorates so I can get ideas from them for next year! Also this year, I'm linking up at the "Nesters" as well - so be sure and check all of the great home tours out and post yours too so we can all see! Happy Monday my peeps! How are you? How have you been? How was your weekend? Great, I hope! I am SO far behind on everything and especially my blogging. I have been running non-stop lately and especially this weekend. I was trying to finish up my CHRISTmas decorations and then spend the day finishing my CHRISTmas shopping but it didn't work out that way. I had SO much running around to do that I finally finished my decorating but am thinking about adding some wreaths on all of my outside windows as well. Not sure if I will do that or not, however, as I am just about to run completely out of steam......

In the meantime, here are a couple of "sneak" peek photos of my CHRISTmas decorations. All I can say is - THANK GOODNESS FOR PINTEREST! HA! I LOVE seeing everyone's ideas from all over the place and these are just a couple that I picked up and ran with. Hope you enjoy them.

Happy Hump Day my friends! I am not sure what tomorrow is going to hold and how early my day will start, so I wanted to get a jump on the holiday and wish you and your family a very wonderful and Happy Thanksgiving Day early. I am at work today but am taking off at noon and am SO EXCITED! I am going to go home, grab a bottle (or two) of my favorite wine and start dragging my Christmas decorations down and turn on my Christmas music and start decorating my house! We are going to my aunt's house tomorrow and I am only responsible for cooking our family's hashbrown casserole so I am getting off easy this year! WOO HOO!!!

Remember to be thankful for all of the good things that God has blessed you with. I know I am thankful for you, my wonderful readers, and friends. I am thankful for my job, my family, my closest of friends and for all of the good and bad things that have happened in my life to make me appreciate just how wonderful I have it and how much God has blessed me and my family. Job Changes and the Birthday Girl

Happy Monday morning everyone! Hope you had an awesome weekend. Ours was great here - started out with my beloved HOGS playing on Saturday and kicking MAJOR BUTT to catapult them into the Top 3 in the AP and BCS polls!!! WOOT WOOT!!! This Friday we play LSU and I think our boys are going to kick some MORE major bootie and I am looking forward to it!!!

Today, I have started working in a totally new position here at my office and I am extremely excited and already feel like a major weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I decided to leave the paralegal position (which I sat at for 8 hours a day being bored out of my mind) and take a different position downstairs as a floater assistant. Meaning, when an assistant is off on vacation, etc., I will be one of the ones filling their spot while they are gone. I much prefer the assitant type of work as opposed to the paralegal work. I LOATHED that position and am so happy that my firm chose to keep me and place me somewhere else instead! :)

And... today is my "baby" girl's 18th birthday and it makes me SO SAD! She decided to go live with her biological dad (about an hour away) when she turned 18 and so this weekend she moved in down there - yesterday to be exact. She wants to graduate from the same high school that her dad and I did among other family members. I hated that she did it during the middle of her Senior Year but her dad wouldn't let her come live there until she turned 18 for some strange reason. It was a very bittersweet weekend needless to say. :( But, she and I had a great time this weekend doing Christmas shopping among other things together. Yesterday we went to Hot Springs and hung out with my mom, sister and niece and that was a lot of fun too.

So.... HAPPY 18TH BIRTHDAY MY BEAUTIFUL BABY GIRL! I LOVE YOU MORE THAN WORDS CAN SAY AND MISS YOU ALREADY!!

Hello... anyone still around????

Hello my wonderful friends! I know it has been over a week and a half since you've last heard anything from me, and I'm sorry. Things at home are just tough right now in various ways and blogging has just taken a backseat to it all. We've had someone stalking us from out of state that my husband used to work with and she is causing all kinds of havoc. We've had to change our home numbers and our cell numbers for the 2nd time and it's just plain ridiculous! On top of that, my 17 yo daughter (who turns 18 in 2 weeks) has decided she wants to go live with her biological dad in another town to finish out her senior year - which makes me very, very sad. :(

Anyway, I hope to be back to my regular scheduled blogging soon. I am off to catch up on your blogs now. Hope things in your neck of the woods are much better than over here in mine. I'm extremely sad and can't seem to shake this dark cloud that has been hovering over me the last 6 months. *sigh*

14 Years of Marital Bliss - Renewal of Vows and Giveaway Winners

Happy Monday and Happy Halloween my friends! Are you ready for your Trick or Treaters tonight? I am going to leave work a few minutes early so I can get home and be ready for the early birds! I can't wait to see all of the cute and adorable costumes! :)

Anyway, this past weekend my husband and I celebrated our 14 year wedding anniversary. We went up to Fayetteville and spent the night with his mom and her husband and then got up on Saturday morning and headed for Eureka Springs. We went to an old-timey photograph place and renewed our vows while dressed up in "costumes". When my husband and I got married in the church all of those years ago, we completely forgot about taking wedding pictures afterwards - duh! We have wedding pictures but not of just us with him in his suit and me in my wedding dress. So he has been wanting to do this for such a long time so we could have an actual wedding photo. We had a great time and the place we went (Judge Roy Bean's) in Eureka was a great experience! Here are some of the pictures taken by my in-laws and daughter during the ceremony with my camera. They didn't all turn out real good - but you can get the "gist" of things. I will scan and upload the "real" pictures that the place took of us during the ceremony another day. I hope you enjoy seeing them:

As you can see, I've gained a lot of weight back and I am starting fresh today to get myself back on track. It is just ridiculous that I've let myself go so much and I feel so bad about myself being so lazy! Anyway, that's another story for another day - LOL

Happy Friday my peeps! Wow - I can't believe it's been yet another full week since my last post - this is getting ridiculously out of hand - HA! Things have been so crazy lately and busy that blogging has unfortunately taken a back burner if you know what I mean. Anyway, I promise to have pictures soon from my girls weekend last week- it was WONDERFUL and I had such an AWESOME time! I can't wait to go back and do it again! :)

TGIF and Girls Weekend Getaway

Happy TGIF guys and dolls! How the heck are ya? Great, I hope! Yeah, yeah, I know, I know - it's been over a week since my last post but what can I say - life has had it's ups and downs lately and blogging was the last thing on my mind, if you know what I mean. Anyway, I wanted to stop by for a quick hello and see how things are going with all of you peeps! Any weekend plans? My kids both have their homecoming dance tonight at the high school and that's about it with them for now.

I am going away with some girlfriends for a girls weekend and simply CAN.NOT.WAIT!!! WOOT WOOT!!!! After the last few months I've had, this couldn't come at a better time! I hope to have a lot of pictures for you on Monday from my trip along with pictures of my kid's homecoming dance. Halloween Decorations

Good morning, lovies! How are you? It is 3:15 a.m. Central time and I am WIDE awake - *sigh* I have so many things going on in my mind that I can't even sleep. I hate when my brain doesn't shut down at night or stay shut down so that I can get a good night's rest. Oh well... maybe it will get better once I know for sure if it is my gallbladder that's giving me fits or not. If it's not, then I will move on to more tests - ugh!

Anywho - enough of my whining this morning - I wanted to show you my Halloween decorations for my mantle and kitchen table. It's not up to my standards to be honest, but it will have to do for now as I've just not been up to tweaking it to perfection - ha!

I'M BACK! Didja Miss Me? :)

Happy Wednesday my peeps and welcome to Hump Day! :) Wow - can you believe it's already October? Sheesh! Where has this year gone?!! I'm sorry that I've been MIA again lately but life has.....well - thrown a few curves at me lately. Everything is going wonderful in the marriage department finally - YAY! So that is one thing off my plate - but.... the other thing that has been an issue is that I went to the ER on Wednesday morning of last week and then was in the hospital overnight until Thursday morning. I went in thinking I was having an appendix attack but they were able to rule that completely out thankfully. BUT something is still wrong and we are thinking it's more of a gallbladder issue - blah.... I go back this Friday morning for a radioactive test to scan my gallbladder to see if it is functioning properly or not. Then I go back the following Tuesday to my dr. to get the results.

I have a few gripes and complaints with my hospital and the drs. that took care of me during my stay. I was there from Wednesday morning at 6:30 a.m. until Thursday morning at 9:00 a.m. The ER doctor couldn't figure out WHAT was wrong with me after running blood tests, etc., so he called in a SURGEON to come check me out - good grief! Anyway, the surgeon ordered more blood tests, a CT Scan and an ultrasound of my gallbladder. The results all came back normal. My poor husband was out of State and had to drive home once they told me I was being admitted to the hospital. He was out of state for a conference for work. He felt so awful that he wasn't there to take me to the hospital that morning. Luckily my son was there to go with me though - thank goodness! :)

Anyway - I will fill you in on the details later when I know what the results are. I am hoping that it IS my gallbladder so I can get it taken out and MOVE ON - it's so frustrating being in pain and sick and feeling downright puny all of the time - especially when I am an ON THE MOVE kinda girl! :)

Thanks for sticking with me and not giving up on me during my downtime - I really needed that bloggy break to refocus myself and get my priorities back in order. Taking a Bloggy Break.....

World Cheese Dip Competition

Happy TGIF my peeps and welcome to FRIDAY!!! WOO HOO!!! I don't know about you, but this week has drug by and I am SO thankful that I get off at noon today! Tomorrow is the World Cheese Dip Competition and my mom and sister and niece are coming in at noon today to help me get prepared for it. I truly don't expect to win a thing but know the 4 of us are going to have an absolute BLAST doing it together and I just can't wait! :) We have been preparing for a few weeks now but - now the time has come to get down to business and get it done!!! If you are in the Arkansas area and don't have anything going on tomorrow - be sure to join us! It's being held at War Memorial Stadium and the doors open at 1 and it goes until 7:30. There will be cheese dip taste testing, the Alabama/Razorback game on the jumbotron - games and stuff for the kids to do, etc.... You can go here to learn more!

Well, guess I better get moving - it's foggy this morning and I'm hungry and need to stop for some breakfast and most importantly - COFFEEEEEEE!!!
