They are not under privileged but the privileged few. Yes it has been a fabulous show and i have to accept i never expected such a response. ' emo kaani nannu marchi poyi minnu ni lepesaaru' (i dont know but , people moved away from me to greet and meet minnu) and am more than happy that people treat minnu more as a person now.

I appreciate and congratulate everyone who has put an effort to buy a calendar and support a cause. i want to write so much more but the pictures over all the websites say it all. you people stood by me , everyone including media and the fans of minnu. Also each one of you who bought the painitings. i hope they inspire and evoke a conscience and also adorn a wall with beauty. Thank you each one of you who came and i wish and hope the blessings remain.

Also i just want to make sure that this initial support will not go in Vain and i will take this further as and when i find time. i want to surely work more on minnu. It should not have any boundaries of caste or creed but bring everyone together through art. am happy it happened on the debut show.

THEORY OF BORN EVERYDAY

This is a tag that i have written one day in my diary. Was so inspired by what i wrote that i made a small dot animation out of it just for fun to get a pulse of the same. This stuck a deep chord within.

How can you think of an idea or a thought that is born every day?

Lets think it in a simple way. We live with a small idea for a long time and then be fascinated with it and relive it every time we encounter it. That makes us born everyday.

Now can it survive with its own momentum?. It may or it may not. But may or may not comes if we look out for success. Success is very periodic, life isnt. So what harm in just living in that moment and just focus our senses to make some thing more beautiful than something that was before. This will make us happy. And this will make others believe that we are successful. Because being happy is the biggest success anyone can get. Now if you tell this to some one, people might not believe. People might think we are wasting time. never mind. Coz for each of those people there is an equal set of people who will admire, promote and provoke you to start walking. Sometimes it becomes so important to be smart to flock with the few who clap and understand the rest.

There have been iconic ideas that we have come across in our life that we tend to ignore the value of it or the magnitude of it coz of many reasons. I, right from childhood came up with some remarkable ideas that could have changed the world. i never made a single effort to even take the first step. This not just made me not to be born even once but also an infertile cell.

So the theory of being born everyday starts where our so called work at office ends. and it might propel us to make something more meaningful than our 'work'. Some ideas are so small we dont even realize, like cooking becomes a idea to be born everyday. To cherish every single moment to cook the food with the same spices differently. But there are also these brilliant works by people like steve jobs and nuclear scientists and also our very fav. social networking on internet.

Hats off to this state of mind of human being that we today have photography, cinema, dance Art internet and many such areas which will live and be born everyday. Wishing everyone a very happy birthday every single day.

So DEDICATED TO ALL THOSE GREAT ARTISTS WHO ARE BORN EVERYDAY. PEOPLE WHO ARE ALIVE EVERY MOMENT OF THEIR LIFE...

Firstly been zapped by the wishes and love that you all shared for this small idea of minnu. I know its not going to change the world but is going to create a small ripple. and am happy you all are creating it.

Thank you all for the enquiries regarding the paintings and calendar. Some wanted to buy before the exhibition as they were leaving abroad or out of station. As much i wish i could not let you go empty handed, i cannot begin without the inauguration. And sending the calendars abroad is a huge task. so people who are stationed outside india who requested i still dont have a plan.

For now the calendars and paintings will be on sale from the 7th january after the inauguration at the Muse Art Gallery. Lets see as time goes on and if we make any other arrangements.

ART SHOW ANXIETY

As the days near for the first show am still wondering what all might happen. In fact i wake up middle of night to check one of the paintings and see if i really need to exhibit this glaring in public. But being in films i have seen those ups and downs so everyday i wake only to tell my self lets just gets things done the right way and forget about the rest. so though the anxiety is there, the work is happening in right positive mode. thanks to all the lovely people who are associated to this and their experience is rubbing onto me.

another Big reason i was postponing this exhibition each time someone asked me was the fear of not doing it the right way. i still dont know if i will be doing it the right way coming this 7th. As a kid i observed in Hyderabad 'Art' was more restricted to the elite in Hyderabad and in most of our households its more a knitting rather than culture of art that we promoted in Andhra. But slowly i see the new evolving art enthusiast who are ready to invest more on promoting it. Also the advent of internet propagating more such windows. To spread the 'ART' that people have different connotations i guess we need to bring it more into the common peoples lives. I am just a amateur and a hobby artist but there are many wonderful artists in hyderabad of todays generation who are taking such active steps to do the same. What it will do is that it might develop a culture over the years.

Work is happening at good speed. You all might be wondering whats the work apart from the paintings
but if i list down only for everyone Else's knowledge and for people who love to hear.

-brochures which are essential for any art show
- limited edition calenders which will be 600 in number and will exclusive and on sale from 7th, this is for charity and the proceeds will go to the children through CAP foundation
- planning to get some 32 hoardings across the city. We have never seen hoardings for art, thought it will be good to have some art show to also get some limelight :)
- framing all these paintings
- and the art show day by itself. haven't yet thought how we can design the show but with eminent people like shantha sinha, architect yashwanth ramamurthy sir who will be giving a brief intro regarding the paintings and nalini gangadharan to be the guests i need to keep it simple and specific.

Had super work culture experience at pragati, which is of international standard. I will be getting a first soft copy for proof reading today afternoon and will most probably finalize everything mid of this week to send the catalogues and the calenders for printing. These small things need minute attention and thankfully pragati is pushing me too for the same. In their hands i feel safe. For our show am also pushing for some 32 hoardings across the city and planing a press meet soon.

haha... as i write all this i definitely know for sure i am missing something here. but yes the show day is nearing so need to tie all ends and make this happen the right way. And thanks for all who are supporting, with out any of them i would have even gone this far.

An invitation to Art Show titled : ‘MY NAME IS MINNU’

Hey All,

I know I should be sounding off my marriage invitation this way but I guess this is for an event which more or less means the same to me.

A little about what this is all about. I was active in ART right from my childhood and have been pursuing it throughout my days in Architecture and shootings. Then a year back I wanted to subject my art, such that it reflects the thoughts within ME n YOU. MINNU – which means MI-N-U is that journey. Minnu though looks physical in character, in reality it represents a gamut of emotions that we all go through. Thus making it a thought process rather than a subject or an object.

My concern has largely been to epitomize the true existence of human. In such an exploration I tend to perceive what becomes an umbilical cord for all of us. It is the Mother, and the holiness of the child. I inter weaved these into the patterns of our society to make it adorable, thought provoking mischievous, iconic and all the time representing MI-N-U.

There is always an utopian world out there in us which makes us strive for a better ‘WE. A world Which also makes us smile through our hardships. Minnu too smiles only to show her courage and to lead by example.

For me apart from making it an Exhibition of my art, it means a lot to bring together ART and social consciousness and to aware people through this medium. And it stands meaningless if it has no tangible experience to those who are deprived of many such valuable moments in life. Minnu through this exhibition will try to support a few children who need the most. This Is not possible only by me and CAP foundation a globally recognized trust has come forward to help us in this Endeavour.

CAP foundation is an NGO that works with street children, marginalized youth and self help womens's group with focus on children with a mission to link learning and livelihood.

It is not easy but luckily there has been an ocean of support for me to make this possible. The best of them being your cheers without which I wouldn’t have done all this while shooting and theatre.

‘2012’ I wish to celebrate this with all of you. So after all that party for the new year extend it a week more and celebrate it with MINNU as she debut’s on 7^TH of January 2012 AT 6.30 PM at MUSE ART GALLERY in MARRIOTT.

THE SHOW WILL BE ON VIEW TILL 21^st January and

on 14^th january we along with CAP foundation will felicitate a few children from Meri pehchaan for their talent.

MINNU touches down for her first ART SHOW!

"'MINNU' STARTED AS PART OF MY JOURNEY IN ART. TO UNDERSTAND A METHOD OF SOCIAL CONSCIOUSNESS WITHIN MY EXPLORATIONS.
I UNDERSTOOD THAT MINNU CAME FROM WITHIN AND IT EXISTS IN EACH ONE OF US MAKING IT A THOUGHT RATHER THAN A SUBJECT OR AN OBJECT.."

I have been telling my curator Kaali Sudheer from almost a week that i will write about this Small/Big thing that we are planning, but was so engrossed in numerous meetings in this regard that i could not sit down and write. But finally here i am writing about one of my closest dream, a dream to hold an exhibition of a life that encompasses my daily thoughts. Minnu is that life and Minnu will soon be meeting everyone beginning this new year.

MINNU will premiere on the 7th of january 2012. And i would love everyone to come be part of this.

FRIENDS OF MINNU:

I still remember when i first started a facebook page on 'FRIENDS OF MINNU' and i had to fill in some blanks in the about section, i thought for a few moments and i immediately wrote and i quote here
'friend of minnu IS A COMMUNITY that builds a bond between society and children. it is a ever growing idea and it is BORN EVERYDAY.'
And if i look back of how it translated from a singular idea to an amalgamation of thoughts, i can only be happy.I can see it as a bridge and strong Bond between the need and the desire within the society. keeping this spirit in mind i am very happy that there are many friends that minnu has made for herself in this journey.

One of them is KAALI SUDHEER, art curator of MUSE, who gave my thoughts a lending hand. and then ofcourse friends and family of mine who extended their support sometimes by clapping and sometimes by lending a support for my piggy bank of art.( even a small thought of their's to buy a small art of mine so that i can continue on my selfish journey is a gesture beyond benevolence).Mr. Mihir Patnaik who is writing a prelude for this show. Renowned architect and my mentor agreeing to present the show that evening for me. Then the most promising friend that minnu has made for herself is CAP FOUNDATION. Yes CAP FOUNDATION gives this vision a tangible meaning by associating with this show.

I and Minnu will be proud and happy to share most of the proceedings to the children who are in need and through CAP FOUNDATION help this reach the kids mostly concentrating on their education, health and building the bond.

Minnu is also happy to have made another friend in the name of designers ANIL and BHANU who are helping us with the catalogue and a MINNU'S calender.They are the most sought after designers of our film world and am happy they are taking their time out for this.

Ofcourse not to forget people on my social network and others who follow this idea and cheer it, i am more than happy to do this final step to put up a show.

well a really interesting week. some positive things turned up in many qurters after a long search. especially the heroine and the music department. excited to see it all come through in the coming days. anyways these things go on. i wanted to share few other things that brought me a smile. one enjoying this new painting of minnu. it will be tough guess though as i didnt finish it yet. but i dont mind someone coming up with their wild imagination. clue :) it is about minnu..

ofcourse suddenly unlike me watched loottss of movies as many films released. disappointed with few.. but really liked tintin. amazing graphic work.

haha and this one made me rofl.. and nostagic. All thanks to vrinda my friend who recorded this that it reminded me that i did something like this :). this was during the anna hazare campaign and india against corruption ovement. i and a bunch of creative people came up with a random skit. enjoyed this one off day of streetplay :) sharing with you all

got back home after long time and quiet a refreshing feeling after that experience. Diwali was more of rest and sweets :) hope everyone played safe!.

After working out at marriott for lack of time past one week. I am Back to my fav. Gavin's gym. and what a lovely routine for arms to get back to the regime. mchine press, mach. Curls 5, ez curls 3, pressdown - dumbel curl 5, two more for which i dont knw the names :) simple but got me pumped up right. dont want to miss the routine for now. had shoot in thailand next month just waiting for some confirmations. Also the floods in thailand seem to be a concern. meetings worked out till then.

Also started a new canvas. its all red. guess what this is? :) will keep posting. cheers. have a great time.

An Extra Ordinary journey!

Hey all firstly a very happy Diwali to everyone and may you share happiness and love with everyone.

Sorry for not updating posting from past one week. been totally cut off from everything. We all as a team shifted to our base in MARRIOTT about a week back and began going through our rehearsals and the technical team operating their work.

firsly some massive publicity which drove the audience to come in the three days. though we have a very few theatre crowd, the deicated few take all the effort to supprt it.

First day trust me as an actor and being part of the team didnt go too well as we expected due to few hitches in the audio. Though everything was set well. the audio gave up for major portions as there was an unexpected power cut and the generator not taking up the load. Though we have received some very good reviews and people loved the performances , we personally wanted the best to be seen.
Sunday was a different story all together. evrything worked fantastic to our expectations and we were bang on. which gave us the lead and push to perform better.

I dont come from a theatre background and i am definitely humbled by the applause that i have received. Sunday's show instilled a great hope and belief of what we have been planning over the past few months. This showed up on monday when the best performances and best coordination of light and music came together. Our direction and production department made sure we didnt have the power of generator issues like the opening night. This showed a journey or learning and growth which i cannot forget.

I am in awe with theatre people in hyderabad and else where who are associated with theatre day in and day out.I have had many actor friends who hails from the theatre background especially Altaf and gopi who worked with me in 'VIRODHI' and also people like mohammed ali baig's shows which i watched so many times since college. and vinay varma ofcourse who has made some wonderful in roads into the hearts of hyderabadi's and the amount of work they do in thesis and research is far more enriching knowledge when compared to mine. I was just lucky to go through this and i loved every moment. If at all anything the experience has only made me love and adore my work more and my respect towards people who come from theatre back ground.

Thank you all for all the love and support. We will soon be touring various other metros. details of which i guess will be soon out. I also have to adjust some dates as my new films begin as early as the 1st week of next month. but most probably if everything works well we will soon be visiting southern cities by next month end.

I might be heading to thailand for a 10 day shoot, will keep you all posted here.

Says Tollywood actor Kamal Kamaraju, who is making his theater debut with a Broadway classic. In a candid chat, he gets talking about what it takes to face a live audience

The haunting strains of Ilaiyaraaja’s music fills the air of Ravindra Bharati and actor Kamal Kamaraju, who was all geared up for the rehearsal of his play, takes a few seconds to compose himself. “The first time I heard what the music maestro has composed for the play, I was speechless. You can’t help but get overwhelmed by emotions when you listen to his tunes when you are on stage,” says the Tollywood actor who is all set to make his first theatre debut in the adaptation of the award-winning Broadway classic by Edward Albee — “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolfe.”

For someone who has never ever dabbled in theatre before, save a few plays in his college and school days, the prospect of starring in this big-budget theater production and facing a live audience was an exciting challenge. “The production house liked my unconventional body of work in Telugu cinema and approached me for the role. Though I’ve never done theatre, they figured out that I could take up this challenge since I have a systematic approach towards acting and that I won’t falter. Plus, as a film actor, I can draw a different set of audience to theatre. And that’s exactly what producer Seema Azharuddin wanted to do — blend both cinema and theater,” says Kamal.

Facing a live audience however, will be nothing like emoting in front of the camera. Especially if the play in question is a two-and-a-halfhour long Broadway production. “I didn’t have to completely overhaul or change the way I think to be on stage. But I had to change my orientation as my actor. I have to throw my voice effectively, I have to hold my emotions through the entire duration of the play, immerse myself in the character without any breaks. Yet, I have to be constantly aware that I’m part of a performing act and I can’t get so lost that I get carried away with the emotions and forget that I have a script to stick to,” says the actor.

Kamal says that thanks to theater, he is currently on a journey of discovery as an actor. “This whole experience has been enlightening for me. In cinema, we always try to immortalize a moment... an unchanging moment that can be played over and over again for generations together. But in theater, you live an immortal moment... And that’s the biggest challenge. I’m going through multiple emotions right now,” says Kamal, who reveals that his family and friends plan to catch him in action on all three days. “I can’t afford to be good on just one day and become complacent. We have to repeat the magic multiple times!” exclaims Kamal, who plays the young and opportunistic Nick in the production.

“I play a young, Biology professor who wants to move up the social ladder and grow in life. And through the course of the play, the character undergoes a complete change. Illaiyaraja’s music perfectly sets the mood for your character. For my scenes, he created a young and playful flute composition that is perfectly in sync with who I am in the play,” he says.

Thanks to this theatrical tryst, Kamal will return to cinema, wiser than ever. “It’s like going to acting school. I feel like I’ve done a specialization course. I’m ready to take on more,” he says.

set work, fun, rehearsal and music

started my day with a lovely workout all thank to marriott where we are stayig, got a nice good workout. been missing my gym from some time. finished off my interview for times of india and then we hit the rehearsals. But the best part was how much everyone is enjoying th music that ilaiyaraaja sir has created. just uploading sumi and my excecutive producer having fun during break time on raja sir's opening music.

And then we started seeing the first glimpses of the set unfolding before us. everyday new things added and finished. tomorow major part of it will be done. mic testing and voice testing.. gosh so many things to do. Happy to hear from people who are coming to watch this. as far from chennai , banglore etc. and also thrilled that the show on sat is almost booked full.
