Asus UX21 and UX31 Zenbooks

Asus has announced five new Zenbook line of ultrabooks, including the UX21 and UX31 series. The Asus UX21 series includes the UX21E-DH52 and UX21E-DH71, while the Asus UX31 series includes the UX31E-DH52, UX31E-DH53, and UX31E-DH72.

The Asus UX21 comes in 11.6-inch display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixel and up to 5 hours of battery life, while the Asus UX31 is packs a 13.3-inch display with 1600 x 900 resolution and up to 7 hours of run time.

All Zenbooks feature an aluminum alloy casing up to 0.67-inch thick, the Super Hybrid Engine II power management technology, the USB Charger+, a V-shaped channel (a custom cooling technology), and a unique copper fin design for improved airflow.

Other hardware includes a 4GB of RAM, a Bang and Olufsun audio system, a SATA 6.0 Gbps SSD, stereo speakers with Bang & Olufsen ICEpower technology, Bluetooth 4.0, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, micro HDMI and mini VGA out, and USB 3.0.

Price of Asus UX21E-DH52 starts at $999 and packs a Core i5-2467M CPU, 4GB DDR3 RAM and a 128GB SSD. The Asus UX31E-DH72 has a Core i7-2677M processor, 4GB of RAM, a 256GB SSD, and price of $1,449.

Evolio U9 thin and light netbook

Evolio has just unveiled its new Cedar Trail-based netbook in Romanian, the Evolio U9. This netbook has an 18mm thick, measures 0.7 inches thick and weighs just 2.16 pounds.

New Evolio U9 netbook features a 11.6-inch display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, a 1.6GHzIntel Atom N2600 dual-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and a 64GB or 128GB solid state drive. Evolio U9 netbook packs a 1.3MP webcam, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth, HDMI output, and up to 5 hours of battery life.

The Evolio U9 netbook will be available in December, no word on pricing.

Acer has official introduced its first Ultrabook in the U.S. and Canada, the Acer Aspire S3-951. This ultra-thin and lightweight Ultrabook will sell for $899.

The Acer Aspire S3-951 Ultrabook is boasts an Intel Core i5 processor, 4GB of RAM, 20GB solid state drive or 320GB hard drive, and Intel HD Graphics 3000.

The Acer Aspire S3-951 Ultrabook also includes a 13.3-inch LED-backlight display with a native resolution of 1366 x 788 pixels, a Crystal Eye 1.3 webcam, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi , Bluetooth 4.0+ HSR, USB, HDMI port, a 2-in-1 card reader, and an integrated long-life battery that delivers up to 6 hours of computing time.

The Ultrabook measures 12.59″ x 8.52″ x 0.51″ to 0.68″ and weighs in at 2.98 pounds. This allows the lid and bezel to form a strong aluminum frame around the screen, and reduces the bezel thickness by about 10 percent (over traditional displays), creating a super-slim silhouette that is still strong enough to protect the display.
