I know that headline may seem harsh to some, and I apologize for being a little vulgar, but I attempted to write it a number of different ways and this version was the only one that felt right. I tell you what, YOU watch this video and see if you don't agree.

Did you hear this doddering old fool blame the partisan politics going on right on the President? Who the hell does he think he is bullshitting?

Obama has gone above and beyond the call of duty in an attempt to engage with the Republican Senators and has been rebuffed time and time again. In my opinion he has spent way too much time reaching out. You don't try to invite guests to your table when their stated intentions are to set it on fire.

From instigating their followers to disrupt town hall meetings, to making up lies about death panels, to yelling out "you lie" during a Presidential speech, these bastards have done nothing but try to derail ANY health care bill. And John McCain fucking knows it!

He also knows that the deep partisan split that started during the Clinton presidency, and deepened during the Bush years, is absolutely NOT the fault of President Obama. He is saying this on Fox News because it gives him credibility with the batshit crazy Teabagger movement that threatens to absorb his party. To survive politically he has to pander to the lowest common denominator, because the lunatics are now in charge of the mental hospital.

Because of Republican interference and disruption we now have a health care reform bill that will not accomplish a fraction of what we were promised it would. And still that is not enough for the Republicans. They are not satisfied that it is gutted, they need it to die.

Do you know why? Here let Senator Orrin Hatch explain it to you: Hatch asserted that the health bills, which he believes represent a "step-by-step approach to socialized medicine," will lead to Americans' dependence on Democrats for their health and other issues.

"And if they get there, of course, you're going to have a very rough time having a two-party system in this country, because almost everybody's going to say, 'All we ever were, all we ever are, all we ever hope to be depends on the Democratic Party,' " Hatch said during an interview with the conservative CNSNews.com.

Now do you see the problem? The Republicans KNOW that a health care reform bill will benefit the Democrats. Possibly even one as diluted as the one being drafted right now. And that scares the holy shit out of them! They are in a blind panic over losing their support in the coming elections.

So they are throwing up roadblocks, calling out insults, and refusing to participate in a last ditch effort to save their political futures. And John McCain knows this.

He knows EXACTLY what is happening and why. And yet he dares to blame the poisonous partisanship on a President who tried desperately to invite them to the party, so that THEY could enjoy the benefits of voting FOR something that will benefit the American people for decades to come.

But no. The GOP decided to gamble on sabotaging the bill so that it is a mere shadow of what it might have been, in the hopes that the American voter will be so disappointed in it that they decide to punish the Democrats and vote them out of office.

And here we are today. With a bill that has been so ravaged by Republican attacks and Democratic cowardice that this blatant interference and obfuscation may actually pay off. Which will leave both the Democratic party and the American people the losers, and the GOP victorious.

It is a blatant example of politics over people and it has been played ruthlessly by the Republican party and John McCain is just as guilty as any other member of the GOP.

So just in case you could not make out my headline, FUCK John McCain!

A Republican Party leader blasted a Democratic official Thursday for what she called “sexist” and “degrading” remarks about State Representative and congressional hopeful Jaime Herrera.

On Tuesday, Washington State Democratic Party chairman Dwight Pelz compared Herrera to former Alaska Gov. and vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

Pelz said Herrera is “Palinesque” and called her “long on style, short of substance.”

“It’s disgraceful that the moment a female minority candidate comes on the scene, Democrats pounce on the opportunity to demean and belittle her,” according to a statement released by GOP National Committeewoman Fredi Simpson. “As a Hispanic female, I am shocked at Chairman Pelz’s recent sexist and degrading remarks about a fellow Hispanic female’s looks, while disregarding her intelligence.”

Gee do you mean the Republicans don't want to be compared to a whiny, ignorant, failed politician? Why ever not?

I keep hearing that the Teabagger movement is becoming bigger than the Republican party, but if that is true what will having Sarah Palin as their de facto leader do to any chances they may have had of establishing a legitimate third party?

Will they use her as a blueprint for choosing candidates? "Look we will only back you if you promise to have no legitimate knowledge of the issues, that you dress like a whore, and that, if elected, you quit right around the middle of your term. Agreed?"

Well it is pretty obvious that the Republican party is flat done with Palin.

Simpson continued: “Obviously, the Chairman and his Democrat Party feel threatened by this accomplished young woman and need to resort to childish antics of name-calling to distract from the real issues.

"Childish name calling"? Is the Sarah Palin brand really that disgusting to them? Even the Democrats seem a little surprised at their response.

In an interview Thursday, Pelz said, “I stand by my comparison. Jaime Herrera is a political novice and a right-wing Republican, and I think she has a lot in common with Sarah Palin.”

Pelz also said: “I compared her to Sarah Palin, and the Republican Party apparently thinks that’s an insult, so they must not think much of Sarah Palin.”

This is pretty bad news for Palin. But hey, at least she still has her marri......oh.....well at least she still has her good loo......oh yeah.........well she still has the love of her chil........oops. Yeah, well she still has the crazy fringe sending her their cookie jar money through SarahPAC, and she still has RAM writing her Facebook rants, so I guess things could always be worse.

I mean what if your ex-campaign manager, ex-legislative aide, and daughter's ex-boyfriend were all writing tell all books about yo.......oh.....damn.....you really are screwed Sarah.

Update: Not to pile on this morning but another of Palin's lies from "Going Rogue" has come to light. Remember that assertion in her book that Willow had been threatened with gang rape by fellow students in Juneau? Guess who has never heard of that.

Sarah Palin will have her final book signing of the year Tuesday in Wasilla.

“The event is open to the public. Alaskans are invited to bring their copies of Going Rogue to be signed by Governor Palin. She looks forward to seeing her fellow Alaskans at this event!,“ said a notice from Palin’s HarperCollins publicist, Tina Andreadis.

There's no word of an Anchorage signing, which Palin had previously indicated could be Tuesday as well. The former governor had written on Twitter: “Sounds like the Alaska book signing events 4 general public will be Dec 22, hopefully in both Anchorage&1 other location. Bundle up&join us!”

Having this last(?) book signing in Wasilla is another attempt by Palin to keep her critics from showing up and turning it into an opportunity to stage a protest. Personally, based on the visits from Wasilla folk to this blog, I am not sure she should get too cocky about that.

I have had a number of conversations with people in the Valley and there is a hell of a lot of anger and disappointment directed at little miss quittypants. I am not at all sure there will NOT be a protest of some kind.

You know I have to go out to the Valley this week, I guess it COULD be on Tuesday.

I wonder if she would still sign my book if I had maybe defaced the cover....you know....just a little....hardly noticable really.....if you don't look too close.

Sarah Palin's father is a science teacher yet she seems blissfully unaware of the devastating impact man has had on this planet. Perhaps he could take a moment to explain Holocene extinction to her.

Of course man can alter natural change! Does Sarah believe that it is natural for 13 million hectares of forest to be cut down each year? Or is it natural that more than one fifth of the world's coral reef has been destroyed? Does she have any idea what those losses mean to the sustainability of life on our our planet? No of course not. That requires thinking, which is not Sarah Palin's strong suit.

We are seeing the evidence of our negative impact on this planet in real time, and yet many refuse to acknowledge that it is happening. Sarah Palin is just the most visible example of that willful ignorance.

Sarah uses the words "arrogance" and "naive" to make her point, which is ironic since those are the EXACT words I would use to describe her attitude toward Climate Change.

I spent my Friday afternoon sitting in a darkened theater with dorky 3-D glasses on having my mind blown! Holy crap, was this movie good!

To be honest it is not really accurate to simply call this a movie, it is almost a religious experience. I have not enjoyed a movie THIS much since Jurassic Park, which made me decide at that moment that I had seen the most impressive thing Hollywood could bring to the screen. I was wrong.

Of all the falsehoods and distortions in the political discourse this year, one stood out from the rest.

"Death panels."

The claim set political debate afire when it was made in August, raising issues from the role of government in health care to the bounds of acceptable political discussion. In a nod to the way technology has transformed politics, the statement wasn't made in an interview or a television ad. Sarah Palin posted it on her Facebook page.

Her assertion — that the government would set up boards to determine whether seniors and the disabled were worthy of care — spread through newscasts, talk shows, blogs and town hall meetings. Opponents of health care legislation said it revealed the real goals of the Democratic proposals. Advocates for health reform said it showed the depths to which their opponents would sink. Still others scratched their heads and said, "Death panels? Really?"

The editors of PolitiFact.com, the fact-checking Web site of the St. Petersburg Times, have chosen it as our inaugural "Lie of the Year."

Organizers of Canadian fundraiser featuring Sarah Palin are looking for somebody willing to take the funds she raises. WTF?

Amid a barrage of criticism, organizers of a fundraiser featuring former Alaskan governor Sarah Palin have decided the event will no longer benefit public health care.

Instead, funds from the April 15 gala will go to the Charity of Hope, an organization that helps children.

"The attention became a health-care debate when the attention should've been on ... an event that benefits the community," said Dennis Concordia, one of the co-chairs of the event.

Concordia said organizers felt the Juravinski Cancer Centre and St. Peter's Hospital, the previously named beneficiaries, were "unfairly being made targets of a lot of negative publicity."

Pearl Veenema, president and CEO of Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation, said it was notified on Wednesday that organizers would be considering the reaction to the event and that the beneficiary might change.

The hospital was notified of the decision yesterday through a press release.

"It's unfortunate the funds will not be directed to Hamilton Health Sciences, the two hospitals that they wanted to raise funds for, but we're appreciative ... of (their) intentions," Veenema said.

Wait, let me get this straight! Sarah Palin is being paid $200,000 to give a speech to raise money that nobody wants? And THIS seems like a good idea to WHO?

Look if you live in Canada perhaps you could take a moment to tell the people in charge of this fundraiser that they could raise a lot more money, and avoid a lot of criticism, if they just had somebody speak who actually knows the subject. You know like Dr. Sanjay Gupta, or MSNBC's Dr. Nancy, or even Dr. Doolittle for God's sake!

Remember just because Palin recently had surgery does not make her an expert on health care!

Ted McMeekin, MPP for Ancaster,-Dundas-Flamborough-Westdale, said in an e-mail that this was a strange situation and he had never seen anything like it.

"Clearly there was some negative feedback on Palin being associated with health care and the hospitals. Word on the street was that some base donors were angry with Palin's choice as speaker and that created the potential for some backlash." (Gee ya think?)

McMeekin said he was not familiar with the newly designated beneficiary.

Seriously? I write a post about Sarah not being a runner, and she decides that jogging around Hawaii, will demonstrate that I am wrong? Do you really think it is that easy?

Well since you are clearly reading this blog then perhaps I should make more important suggestions to you.

Don't run for just the sake of appearances, run for your health.

Don't treat Trig like a prop, make sure his needs are met and he is getting the therapy that he requires.

Don't drag poor Todd around in an effort to prove you are a happy family, just let him go and move on with your life.

And finally get out of politics. You are not helping.

Diane Benson announces run for Lt. Governor.

I just received a call from Phil Munger that Diane announced her candidacy for Lt. Governor at the Bartlet Club meeting jsut a few minutes ago.

I find this to be wonderful news.

I am a big supporter of Diane's and have been badgering her for months to run for Congressman in this next election cycle.

At the Cook Inlet Keepers Muckrakers Ball she took me aside and said that she was going to make an announcement at this meeting. Sadly I could not make it, but I am stoked to hear the news.

Diane Benson is a very strong advocate for woman's rights and has done much to educate people about the history and challenges of the Alaskan native people.

She will be a powerful antidote to the poisonous aftertaste Sarah Palin left in the mouth of the country concerning female politicians in Alaska.

Santa Claus, not Jesus, is the great symbol of unity and peace for Christmas.

It's recently been reported that an atheists' group has planned an advertising campaign for this Christmas, featuring a photograph of smiling people wearing Santa Claus hats. The caption: "No God? . . . No problem! Be good for goodness sake." Whatever you might think of this message, the ad does contain a grain of historical truth: the modern image of Santa Claus was invented in the 19th century by New Yorkers, as a secular myth meant to unite the city's diverse and growing population.

No common observance of Christmas existed in New York at that time, other than a holiday from work. Many Protestant churches frowned on elaborate Christmas celebrations, which they associated with Anglo-Catholicism and the aristocracy. The city's free laborers, who often suffered from unemployment in the dark days of winter when shipping and industry slowed down, were only too willing to gather in the streets at Christmas, turning the holiday into an excuse for drunken caroling. As for the laborers in the city's large enslaved population, they used this rare time off for celebrations that often included customs with roots in Africa.

There's little wonder that some leading citizens would have welcomed a symbol that encouraged peaceful, domestic celebrations, of the sort that most New Yorkers might share. They found that symbol in Santa Claus, starting around 1810.

The thing I used to love about Christmas is that people seemed to go out of their way to be more pleasant to each other, more gracious, and less selfish. And immediately after that observation I would always think "Why can't we ALWAYS treat each other with this much respect?"

Now I used to think that way back before the battle lines were drawn and the "War on Christmas" began back in the 1990's. (Or perhaps even earlier.) Now days I have to listen to new reports of vandals stealing the baby Jesus from Nativity scenes, and Christians yelling "The Reason for the Season!", and the endless discussion over who is trampling on whose religious freedoms.

And suddenly the season of love and acceptance, turned into the season of selfishness and recriminations. The Christians demand that Jesus feature prominently in Christmas displays in store windows, and television commercials, and holiday decorations on public property. And non-Christians demand that they be able to celebrate an American holiday without having a religious belief that they do not share thrown in their face every time they turn on the radio, watch television, or drive to the mall.

The truth is that NOTHING about Christmas has its origin in Christianity. From the pagan origins of the Christmas tree, the borrowed Saturnalia custom of gift giving, to even the assimilation of the Winter Solstice celebration, Christmas is a potpourri of borrowed customs and traditions. And is THAT really so bad?

I have to applaud the 19th century New Yorkers for attempting to create a holiday that brought all kinds of citizens together. What a wonderful idea!

And it worked great too! Right up until people started getting greedy and saw an opportunity to stir up some self serving controversy. Not much Christmas spirit in that is there?

Perhaps this year, instead of slapping each other's hands away from the holiday and trying to take it for our own, we should adopt the philosophy that St. Nicholas espoused so eloquently and offer to share this season of giving with our neighbors, despite our religious, ethnic, or political differences.

So the next time you turn on Fox News and see Bill O'Reilly yelling about the "attacks on Christmas" in a desperate attempt to gin up controversy and boost his ratings, just turn it off and hold your children, and thank Santa Claus for representing a season that ALL Americans can enjoy regardless of which religion they embrace, or to which God they direct their prayers.

Has the Republican brand become so damaged that they are looking to the Teabaggers to give them credibility?

I got into a very civil disagreement (argument) not too long ago with a fellow blogger about whether or not Sarah was still a runner.

I was told that indeed she DID run, only now she did so indoors at a gym.

I beg to differ, I said, but I have a number of friends who are runners, and I sometimes train people to get back into shape, and SHE does not have a runners body.

I also pointed to her pictures in Runner's World, and said her legs were too thin and shapeless to be doing much running, and that the nylons she was wearing were undoubtedly hiding something.

So, Ta-Da! I think we can put that whole "I am a runner" B.S. to rest now. She has no defined hamstring muscle in the back of her legs, no shape to her quadriceps in the front, and a virtually non-existent gastrocnemius (calf muscle). Those are the legs of somebody who does a hell of a lot of sitting and not much else.

I would like my apology in writing please. And you know who you are.

What is wrong with the Democrats? Can they not recognize that they are in charge? The Republicans march in lockstep as if in a parade before the Fuhrer, and the Democrats scramble around like school children hopped up on Halloween candy.

This was our moment. This was what we had campaigned our asses off for. And what we get for our trouble is a bill that will only add to the health care burden that Americans face, and do nothing to provide for those who cannot afford quality health care insurance. Nothing that is except force them to dig deep and pay for substandard health care insurance, and face a stiff fine if they fail to do so.

I cannot imagine that even the most unethical political puppet of the health care insurance industry could have done a better job of ripping off the American people. Well done Senate Democrats, you have once again proven your detractors right.

By the way, that cap on her head? That is a McCain/Palin campaign cap that she is wearing in the home state of our President. Because she is just that much of a bitch.

Chair of the Anchorage Assembly, Debbie Ossiander, receives her holiday lump of coal in the form of a dismissal from her leadership duties. Buh-bye!

After months of battles over the budget between conservative and liberal members, Assembly Chair Debbie Ossiander was voted out of her leadership role in a surprise move.

The move was very much a surprise. Even some on the Assembly say they didn't know about the move to kick out Ossiander as the Assembly leader until it happened at the end of the meeting.

Ossiander has voted with the conservative minority on many crucial budget votes.
The six liberal-leaning members say removing her as Assembly Chair better reflects the Assembly's overall vision.

Assembly member Matt Claman, who brought the motion to reorganize, said it's typically expected for the majority on the assembly to elect a chair that reflects its views. "The period of time in which Ms. Ossiander was chair is best viewed more as an anomaly," Claman said.

This is LONG overdue, in my opinion. LONG overdue!

Debbie Ossiander has played the spoiler repeatedly. Consistently siding with the minority, and our morally crippled mayor, time and time again in direct opposition to the will of the majority now in power.

Perhaps the worst example of her incompetence and lack of ethics was during the summer when she allowed people bussed in from the Valley to argue against an equal rights ordinance that would have protected the LGBT community from discrimination in Anchorage. Ossiander, against all logic, allowed people who DID NOT EVEN LIVE HERE, to tie up the Assembly for 20 weeks as they waved their bibles in the air and talked about how the homosexuals were going to corrupt their children and force the city to have unisex bathrooms. (Complete bullshit!)

In case you missed that episode, my daughter and I made this little video of the madness that engulfed our city during that time.

Did you see the hate? Well so did we. For months we were subjected to that kind of uneducated, simple minded rhetoric, from people who DID NOT EVEN LIVE IN ANCHORAGE!

And that was directly because Debbie Ossiander allowed them to participate. Which slowed the process down to a crawl.

And then, after all of that, the ordinance passed! However Ossiander, doing the bidding of Jerry Prevo and his minions, had slowed the testimoney to go on long enough for the new mayor, Dan "slimeball" Sullivan, to be sworn in and he, of course, immediately vetoed the ordinance.

And that is how Jerry Prevo, Dan Sullivan, and their trained monkey Debbie Ossiander continue to allow the people of Anchorage to be oppressed despite the will of the majority.

I have a number of friends in the LGBT community, and I can honestly tell you that they are still suffering PTSD from the unfiltered hate they were subjected to during that horrible summer of 2009, and THAT is directly the fault of, the now dethroned, Debbie Ossiander.

So my only question is, what in the hell took so long?

For those who missed it, (and how could you I just posted it yesterday, sheesh!), California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger said the following when asked about Sarah Palin and her resistance to agreeing that the dramatic climate change is caused mainly by human beings.

“You have to ask: what was she trying to accomplish?” said Mr Schwarzenegger. “Is she really interested in this subject or is she interested in her career and in winning the [Republican] nomination [for president]? You have to take all these things with a grain of salt.”

Essentially Arnold is suggesting that Palin is pandering to a certain demographic (stupid people) to further her political agenda.

By a show of hands does anybody here disagree with that? Yeah I did not think so. I mean seriously you can spot sister Sarah's naked ambitions from space. No thinking person is fooled by her transparent attempts to ingratiate herself to the lunatic fringe. Except, of course, the lunatic fringe.

So now Sarah, never one to let a critical remark go unanswered, has fired up her ghostwriter and posted THIS response on the only venue that fits her adolescent personality, Facebook.

Why is Governor Schwarzenegger pushing for the same sorts of policies in Copenhagen that have helped drive his state into record deficits and unemployment? Perhaps he will recall that I live in our nation’s only Arctic state and that I was among the first governors to create a sub-cabinet to deal specifically with climate change. While I and all Alaskans witness the impacts of changes in weather patterns firsthand, I have repeatedly said that we can’t primarily blame man’s activities for those changes. And while I did look for practical responses to those changes, what I didn’t do was hamstring Alaska’s job creators with burdensome regulations so that I could act “greener than thou” when talking to reporters.

So did you read that? What? You say it does not make sense? Well duh, it IS Sarah Palin after all! Okay here let me pare it down to the important points.

Ha! You broke you stupid state with all of your "save the planet" moose poop.
My state is colder than yours, so I can tell the globe is not warming!
I was TOTALLY for fighting climate change, before I was against it. (Different audience)
Stop blaming people! God made this place just for us, so of course we can do what we want with it. If we screw it up he will just make us a new one!
You are only pretending to care about the environment so all of your Hollywood friends, and the liberal media, and the science-y people will like you the most.
Besides your stupid speeches are even harder to understand than mine. So there!

Perhaps Shwarzenegger will take a moment to gently explain to sister Sarah that living in a place with weather does not make her an expert on climate, just like living in a place with oil did not make her an expert on energy.

I could always be wrong, but I am fairly confident in saying that Christopher Hitchens is NOT a Sarah Palin fan!

A push to spread the gospel about the 2010 Census this Christmas is stoking controversy with a campaign that links the government count to events surrounding the birth of Jesus.

The National Association of Latino Elected Officials is leading the distribution to churches and clergy of thousands of posters that depict the arrival of Joseph and a pregnant Mary in Bethlehem more than 2,000 years ago. As chronicled in the Gospel of Luke, Joseph returned to be counted in a Roman census, but he and Mary found no room at an inn, and Jesus was born in a manger.

"This is how Jesus was born," the poster states. "Joseph and Mary participated in the Census."

You can almost hear little pointy Fundamentalist heads exploding all over the country can't you?

"Jesus? And the Census? In the same poster? Ow, ow, my empty head has got those stupid facts that my pastor and Sarah Palin warned me about. I have to go donate money to TeamSarah to make the owies go away!" The problem with most of the Fundies is that they have very little biblical knowledge and rely almost exclusively on their pastor's explanation for an understanding of what the "Good Book" says. After months of hearing the census takers vilified from the pulpit they will immediately deny the accuracy of the posters statement.

Sadly for them that ignorance will be aggressively reinforced by the people who want them to embrace their agenda. Like the Fox News team, Rush Limbaugh, Right Wing Christian leaders, and of course sister Sarah herself.

And if Palin is too busy working on her tan I have little doubt that Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity will take up the slack. After all the teabaggers must be getting pretty steamed up right about now.

Hah! Steamed up. Teabaggers. I made a funny!

Last minute replacement Governor Sean Parnell introduces his very first state budget.

Gov. Sean Parnell is proposing an 8.6 percent increase in state general fund spending next year, to be paid for with projected high oil prices.

Fairbanks Democratic Sen. Joe Paskvan said Parnell is not making investments where he should. Paskvan said the governor would be asking to spend far more than $15 million on the Dalton Highway if he thought a natural gas pipeline to the Lower 48 was really happening. It's a signal that Parnell may not have much confidence in the TransCanada project and the Alaska Gasline Inducement Act, Paskvan said.

He said Parnell's own transportation department said it needed nearly $2 billion in infrastructure work over the next six years to be ready for construction to start on either the TransCanada line or the Conoco Phillips and BP project. That included $250 million next year to get going, and Paskvan said virtually none of that is in the budget.

"I think it unfortunately means that the governor has a belief that neither large diameter line is likely to be built within the next six years," Paskvan said.

It appears that Parnell has realized AGIA is going to be a political albatross in the 2010 election and is attempting to distance himself from it without completely losing left over Palin supporters who might consider him a traitor to her legacy.

I believe that to be a fairly intelligent, yet ultimately doomed plan. Parnell is too tainted by the stench of Palin to garner any support from those who don't like her, and he has none of the "attributes" that sister Sarah used to attract her supporters.

I mean I have never seen him try them on, but I am going to go out on a limb and suggest that as effeminate as Sean Parnell is he simply cannot pull off the Naughty Monkey pumps. He also seems to do his parenting without cameras present, which led me to believe at first that he did not even have a family. But apparently he does and they are completely unsupportive of his political career as evidenced by their refusal to seek the limelight or get impregnated to boost his Alaska gubernatorial cred. So poor Sean is left to cling to his dominionist beliefs and crazy right wing agenda in the hope of retaining some of Palin's fan base.

Sorry Parnell but let's just say that you are not "equipped" to get the kind of overblown attention that Sarah Palin enjoyed.

Now I am certainly not a fan of Parnell's, he being a little too soft and squishy to effectively represent Alaska Republicans and too married to the oil company interests to adequately protect the interests of his constituents, but I do like at least one of his ideas.

His budget also calls for financing two new buildings outside of the general fund, a new $75 million state crime lab in Anchorage and $109 million for a life sciences building at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. The state scaled back on big projects this year.

Back when I did my report on the ungodly high number of rapes in this state, one of the stunning things that I learned was evidence collected in Alaska is sent to an outside lab for processing which can take months and sometimes years to complete. In the meantime the victims are left waiting for their day in court while their attackers roam free on bail. A crime lab in Anchorage could have a real impact on how quickly justice is meted out in assault cases as well as other criminal cases in our state.

So I am very much in support of at least that part of Parnell's budget plan.
