Pictures, Information and Trail Conditions of the Chapel Brook Falls & Pony Mountain Summit Trail in Ashfield, MA

We took a trip to Chapel Brook in Ashfield, MA on a Sunday afternoon. The day was hot and the kids were restless! My daughter was celebrating her birthday and wanted to get out and do something. This became the perfect opportunity to go “fall seeking.”

At Chapel Brook expect a small area for only about 8 cars to park, also you could fit a few more along the dirt road that leads down to the falls. I don’t recommend parking on the main road unless you can get your car all the way off the road (this will require you to park into the shrubbery along the side). Although the traffic wasn’t heavy on that road, we did notice the cars that did come past drove quite fast! Also, there is a slight hill that hinders the sight of the road, so hang onto little ones hands!

We found the trail map confusing; there are 2 separate trails, one on either side of the road. We were interested in walking to the summit of Pony Mountain, and then would swim in the falls. So, after asking a gentleman walking his dog which trail leads to the summit he advised us it was the one near the parking spaces across the road from the falls.

Chapel Brook/ Pony Mountain Summit Trail

Length: Approximately 1 mile including backtrack

Parking: Yes, limited

Picnic Area: No

Public Restrooms: No

Pet Friendly: No –not on the summit trail, and I don’t recommend bringing a pet where the Falls are. We did not walk the trail that parallel the falls, but was told it was a backtrack trail.

Pony Mountain Summit Notes:

Our goal on this day was to hike to the summit so we could be swept away by the views. This summit trail was confusing to locate, and we were thankful for the help of fellow hikers to guide us.

When you first enter the trail you will notice a kiosk with a map. It appears the trail begins behind this kiosk… it does not. Go up the steep steps to your right. When you get to the top you will notice an area they call Chapel Ledge, because it is a rock face that rock-climbers use to get up to the summit. (Note: You can rock climb up the face of that rock, so if you are interested in this activity, bring your gear!) If rock climbing is not your thing, then walk through this area to the other side and the trail will then easily navigate you to the summit from here. When you’re at the summit there is another level you can step down onto at the east side of the mountain. The kids and I climbed down onto it, but certainly use caution and no horsing around, because from here it is a long drop to the bottom!

After hiking back down the mountain we stopped at our car and swapped out our sneakers for flip-flops. We grabbed our cooler and towels and headed to the other side of the road to experience the falls.

Chapel Brook Falls Notes:

Here you can expect 4 levels of falls cascading one into the next, with a pool of water at the bottom of each. The 2^nd fall area is where the steps from the dirt road lead you into this space. At this fall my nephew experienced sliding it down into the pool below (see video). The girls slid down the lower most falls into the last pool area, this one was quite small and easily done for most kids.

We laid out our mat and towels (on rock) and began to snack on cheese & crackers. There are no trashcans, so you must take all your trash with you when you leave. We seemed to be the only ones, who decided to bring food/drinks down into the fall area, but that didn’t seem to bother anyone; well maybe that one adult drink raised one or two eyebrows.

Alicia Vanderschuere embodies the same character traits as the iconic figure her business was named after… Rosie the Riveter. RosieMADE grew out of an entrepreneurial spirit that came into immediate focus after having her daughter. Alicia always knew her business was going to help the Made in America cause because of the quality and ethical products you can expect when making a Made in USA purchase.

Having worked for 15 years in retail and corporate merchandise buying, Alicia realized how few females held executive positions. This motivated her to help women in business receive the resources and pathways that will help them to reach their own American dream success stories.

This recipe serves 2 people, because I often exercise with my son, and it is a real treat after our walks.

Fruit Smoothie:

Ingredients: (makes 2)

1 banana
1 cup. frozen or fresh strawberries (put frozen strawberries in microwave for 1 minute to thaw)
1 cup. frozen Wyman's Blueberries
1 cup. water
1 avocado

Place all ingredients into a blender until smooth!

Enjoy.

This is what you should expect when you decide to trek the Grand Trunk Rail Trail in the Sturbridge, Massachusetts area.

This trail system has separate trail sections. There are committees and agencies working throughout this region of Massachusetts to have a completed 66-mile trail from Palmer to Franklin within the next ten years.

You can read more about the history of this trail and why it was once called the Titanic Trail here.

On two separate days I visited 3 of the sections. All the sections I visited allowed dogs to be walked on a leash. They even provide ‘doggie’ bags for you to clean up after your dog. There are no public restrooms and ample parking off the road. Other than the Fiskdale section, you will find offshoots or nearby trails you can access as apart of your day.

Grand Trunk Rail Trail:

Westville Dam Recreational Park

Sturbridge/Southbridge, MA Location

Length: Approx. 2.25 miles includes backtrack

Parking: Yes

Picnic Area: Yes

Public Restrooms: Yes

Pet Friendly: Yes

Notes:

Beautifully shaded trail provided a flat, level surface once you overcame the short gravel hill that leads to the trail head. You can expect to partly see and hear the rustling of the Quinebaug River, which parallels the trail. This trail does not loop back to the parking area. Once you reach the Ed Calcutt Bridge you will need to backtrack to the main parking lot where you are able to connect to the Heritage Trail. The Heritage Trail loops around the Westville Dam, bringing you back to the main parking lot. Be cautious, as there is a small portion of public road that you will need to walk along to get to the parking area. The trail allows for dogs to be walked on a leash and they provide ‘doggie bags,’ making it convenient for you to clean up after your pooch! I found the trails to be clean with the occasional mess from horses… I’m not sure what the rules are regarding who cleans up from this animal!

Other Activities:

This area has a boat-ramp for dropping your kayak or canoe into the river, as well as plenty of space to fish along the rivers edge. They have a beautifully groomed grass area with tables for picnicking and/or grilling. The trails are level and constructed with crushed, screened stone that compacts firmly enough to ride bikes but stays soft enough for equestrian use. This is the perfect trail for walking, jogging, bike riding, walking your dogs or riding your horse! The Army Corps of Engineers as well as a team of volunteers and trail associations from the local communities maintain it. No motorized sports vehicles are allowed on the trails.

Grand Trunk Rail Trail (Trolley Trail):

Fiskdale, MA Location

Length: From bench: approx. 1 mile includes backtrack

From E. Brimfield Dam Entrance: approx. 2 miles, includes backtrack

Parking: Yes, limited

Picnic Area: No

Public Restroom: No

Pet Friendly: Yes

Notes:

You should expect to backtrack on this trail. The woods that outline the crushed, screened gravel surface shade the beginning of this trail. About ½ mile into the trail you will encounter a bench that overlooks the Quineboag River. If you decide to continue further it appears as though you are walking onto someone’s property, but you are not. The trail can continue along the river and then around a building used by the Army Corps of Engineers. We followed it to the entrance of the East Brimfield Dam, which is about 1 mile from the parking space. Although there is not a designated picnic area, there was space along the rivers edge on a large flat rock or grassy hillside to enjoy a bite to eat or rest. Although a mostly level, crushed gravel surface, there was a tree down on the first half of the trail, which we could easily pass, but if you were biking it would be more difficult. (A police officer on a motorcycle was patrolling the trail on the day we visited, I am hopeful he would have reported the fallen tree, as this caused him to have to turn at that location)

Grand Trunk Rail Trail:

Brimfield, MA Location

Length: Approx. 3.5 miles includes backtrack

Parking: Yes

Picnic: No

Public Restroom: No

Pet Friendly: Yes

Notes:

This area of the Grand Trunk Rail Trail was decimated by a tornado in June 2011. The damage caused by the tornado eliminated the shade that was once provided by the woods along the trail route. We visited on a 90° day, that with humidity felt like 105°, so we did not reach the end of the trail. You should expect full sun on this trail until the woods recover from the tornado. This trail also has to be backtracked, but you can expect a level surface perfect for walking, jogging, or bike riding. We are planning on returning on a cooler day and will update this page when we do.

Other Activities:

The day I visited I could not see a boat-ramp to access the Quinebaug River easily, but the trail map shows there may be access at another entry point.

Our Patriots' Day

Did you know the third Monday in April is a state holiday in Massachusetts?

I never gave it much thought, I just assumed the entire country celebrated the day that launched our independence from Great Britain.

Our holiday, Patriots' Day, is the reason why the filing deadline for our State income taxes is extended to April 16. Also our schools, banks and state, county, and municipal offices are closed in Massachusetts. We also chose this day to host the Boston Marathon.

Patriots' Day commemorates the April 19, 1775 Battle of Lexington and Concord. This was the first military engagement of the American Revolutionary War.

During this time, the colonists living in the thirteen original colonies were growing angry with King George III. He was imposing numerous taxes on the colonies, to help pay for the debt incurred from the French and Indian War.

The battle cry began, "No taxation without representation." The colonists had no representation in Parliament for the acts the king was imposing on them.

In September, 1774, the First Continental Congress met in Philadelphia. Delegates from 12 of the colonies met privately to discuss how they should respond to the Intolerable Acts. (King George did not send the delegates, they convened on their own.)

Word got back to the king these "Patriots" were stockpiling muskets, gunpowder, cannons and other provisions. So he sent British regulars to Massachusetts, giving them orders to destroy the provisions and capture colonist leaders, John Hancock and Samuel Adams.

The colonists received word weeks before the British soldiers were on their way, so they moved many of their supplies before they arrived.

The Patriots in Boston, notified the Charlestown Patriots of the route the British regulars would take, by placing a lamp in the Old North Church steeple. “One if by land, two if by sea.” In the meantime, Paul Revere and William Dawes would also send the message themselves, by riding on horseback declaring, “The regulars are coming, the regulars are coming.”

The "...shot heard round the world," was fired just as the sun was rising in Lexington. It is not certain who fired first. There is speculation that it did not come from the British or the Minutemen, but a colonist in a nearby tavern.

This battle proceeded to Concord. The British regulars received information the military provisions were hidden somewhere in this town. The Minutemen in Concord had also heard of the fighting in Lexington.

The British were known for fighting in formation, neat rows and columns straight toward their target in open area. The Minutemen hid behind trees and stonewalls along the route, shooting the British as they marched toward Concord.

In the end the British suffered terribly, sustaining 73 killed, 174 wounded, and 26 missing. The Patriots listed 49 killed, 39 wounded and 5 missing.

This battle boosted the morale of the Patriot colonists as it greatly embarrassed the powerful British army.

This is why Patriot's Day is celebrated in Massachusetts.

It is the first military engagement that moved us toward our independence from Great Britain. Which in time helped form these United States of America!

The Beautiful World of Stephanie Gale, Owner of Beau Monde Organics

Stephanie Gale, Graphic Artist and Owner of Beau Monde Organics is doing her part to instill peaceful positive change while creating something beautiful for the world. This American company produces uniquely beautiful scarves and practical personal accessories in Los Angeles.

Although born in New York City, when she was a young girl Stephanie moved to rural Connecticut. Here she learned to appreciate the soothing connection with the natural world. Her family made frequent trips back to the city, allowing her to fall in love with the energy and vibrancy only found in city life. To this day Stephanie is comfortable living in both worlds.

Growing up, her parents influenced her sensibilities regarding tolerance, justice and a deep love and respect for all nature. Before reaching her teen years she was a self-described recycler, environmentalist, health-nut and human/animal rights activist. Stephanie considered herself a creative person from an early age and loved music and art. Her grandfather was a Master Tailor in New York City who also influenced her life. He instilled in her a love for fashion, textiles and design, all while teaching her how to sew.

Stephanie earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts then went onto working in the corporate world for many years. After working steadily for years in the corporate environment, Stephanie was suddenly faced with the difficulty of becoming laid off 5 times in the succession of 2 ½ years. This experience influenced her decision to start her own business and has made her a much happier person since. Stephanie remains grateful for these previous jobs, as the experience encouraged her to take this next step. Working as a Surface Designer, creating art for licensing to product manufacturers, Stephanie decided to research the idea of manufacturing her own products, and, about a year later, Beau Monde Organics was founded.

Beau Monde Organics was a convergence of her passions and ideals. Choosing the name for her company took some thoughtful consideration but in the end she chose this French term that has a dual meaning. ‘Beau Monde’ (pronounced “bow mond”) means ‘beautiful world.’ But it is also an idiom that means ‘the world of fashionable society.’ For Stephanie, this was the perfect way to capture both the style and fashion aspects of the business, while alluding to the greater good of being an organic and ethical company.

From its conception, Stephanie was enamored with creating a product that makes people feel good about themselves, “… beautiful, art-based accessories that enhance the wearer’s inner spirit and making it easy for them to express their personal look in pure organic style.”

Additionally, she wanted to be sure when these items were produced she did not harm the planet or those who live on it, anywhere along the way. With that, it was inevitable to create a business that uses no child labor, no minimum wage workers, and no petroleum-based or toxic chemicals. When it is necessary to use imported materials, they only come from certified organic farms and milled in ethically run textile mills. Although Beau Monde Organics uses as much American made materials as possible, it has become necessary to import some fabrics from ethically run textile mills in India. They do not source any materials from China.

I asked Stephanie how she balances her personal life with growing her three-year young business, she responded, “It’s not always easy! But that’s just it; everything’s a give and take. My mantra is ‘living well in eco-style’ and I advocate ‘conscious living.’ That means first becoming aware of all aspects of a well-lived life, and of all the things that affect the earth and the human spirit. It’s then up to each of us to make the personal effort to commit to the ideals and goals that resonate with us personally.”

Stephanie is the epitome of maintaining a personal and business life that is concurrent with one another. For Stephanie it is vitally important to eat well, practice self-care and maintain a healthy body. “Spending time enjoying activities you love, with people you care about is invaluable to our mental health and essential for balance,” she says.

When I asked Stephanie what surprised her the most about her work, she said, “I am surprised at how much I love what I do. I’m so happy knowing people love what I’ve created. When someone gushes over a print or tells me how much a design resonates with them, or to be told how wearing one of my scarves makes them feel beautiful. It gives me a wonderful sense of satisfaction knowing I’ve accomplished one of my main goals.”

Recognizing that our lives are entwined and we are often influenced by people in history, I was curious if there was someone who influences the beautiful work Stephanie Gale creates, she shared “I remember being thrilled at first discovering the work of The Nature Conservancy, and finding successful businesses such as Anita Roddick’s The Body Shop and Yvon Chouinard’s Patagonia. They confirmed my belief that a successful business could be ethical and environmentally sound, as well as profitable. They were pioneers in my eyes.”

Stephanie Gale’s story demonstrates when one person consciously acknowledges that their actions have a direct impact on the world around them; they also have the ability to use this power for positive and beautiful change in the world.

To others, I am a daughter, wife, mother, sister, niece, auntie, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, friend, co-worker, acquaintance, and with the grace of God, a point of light in the world.

I always felt fortunate to grow up in a home where my parents loved each other. They really, really did. This everlasting love provided only one disservice to me. Well, not really, but when compared to what my friends got away with, it seemed like this was the likely culprit. In my teen years, when I was seeking the answers to life’s biggest questions. They made it almost impossible to get away with anything! They always had “each others back.” In hindsight, that turned out to be very, very good for me! I got just enough of my questions answered in life, while always being reminded to, “…behave and act like a lady!” These words could be heard and the consequences understood, if I didn't heed my father's final words when I left the house.

My parents raised seven children. I have four sisters and two brothers. I am child number five. I hope in future posts to share some of my father’s ‘sayings’… he has a way of telling a story with the perfect analogy. My dad worked hard, at a job that tried and tested his very being, but he was also blessed to retire at the age of 52! It was clear that my mother, was the most important person in his life, he loves her beyond measure. Through his example, he taught me how I should expect to be treated by a man. He always told me, “Stay clear Victoria, of any person that doesn’t treat their mother very well.”

My mother was a stay at home mom… thank goodness! Can you imagine carting seven kids to daycare?! She has the patience of a saint. I do remember, when I was a child, she used to mutter under her breath, “You guys are going to drive me to drink!” I never understood what she meant back then, because my mother was not a “drinker,” but now that I am raising my own children, and have the wisdom of an adult, I've connected the dots to what my mothers muttered breath meant. My mother taught me how to nurture and be patient, she was always sacrificing, always giving of herself, for the love she had for my father and her family.

These days, my parents call Maine home. We visit often and enjoy every part of the 120 acres that is available for us to create memories.

This is a picture of my family, at my sister Sabrina's wedding. She is the "baby" of the family. The last of the seven children to officially go off and make a life for herself… no longer the responsibility of my parents.

Our family has known much joy and has been blessed on many levels, by the example we received from two people, who fell in love for life!

But, as we know, with much joy can come much despair.

We have also suffered together as well, by the loss of my oldest brother.

This was probably the single most difficult event we had to endure as a family... most especially my parents.

This experience has shown me more prominently than I had realized before, that life is about relationships! Never take them for granted. Never underestimate the power you have to change the world.

For this reason, I approach each day with the intention to make someone smile, and to be a point of light in the world! You can never tell how your simple act of kindness can change the hearts and mind of someone who truly needs it.

The Best Blizzard Pictures of 2013

This is a look into the Blizzard of 2013 from my place in the world. These were the snow totals expected in the area. We live in the 18-24" range, but had totals up to 30+" when it was through.

SOCIAL MEDIA SHARING:

These are the best of the best from the Internet. Unfortunately, I do not know who created them.

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts ordered all non-emergency personnel to stay off the roads beginning on Friday at 4pm until further notice. It was lifted on Saturday at 4pm.

The Weather Channel coined the term for this storm "Nemo." The National Weather Service was not happy with them, it was reported they believed they were doing it for ratings. It is the NWS policy to only name hurricanes and major tropical storm events.

I think the rest of the world thinks we are a bunch of lushes in New England.

I had to shovel a path down my driveway to take my "AFTER" pictures. The left side of this picture is the true snow total, the right side is where I threw the snow I was shoveling.

A friend I went to high school with cracks me up with her honest humor....

No hangovers at our house, but I'm sure there were a good many somewhere in New England.

It took my husband and sons hours to get the driveway cleared. You would think after living here for 18 years we would own a snow blower, but we don't. There is always something more pressing that needs our attention, and winter is so temporary.

Finally... pavement!

I went down to the driveway to survey the progress and saw they had completed the job. When I looked over and saw the shovel, I thought, "What a great picture that would make!"

My husband and I explored the neighborhood afterwards. It was super cold, so we didn't stay out as long as we would have liked, but I got some great shots!

I am collecting information about the Art of Tattoos, I would like to include your story in our post. In recent years, tattoos have become more acceptable, but for some their ink has been apart of who they are before rising in popularity.

I want to share with my readers the stories behind the tattoos. Often there are specific reasons people have for getting inked... to remember a loved one, to honor a time in their life, to show the world who you are. 2013 is going to be my year to EXPLORE and yours! Going beyond the limits, noticing the nooks and crannies in the world and celebrating the personalities that make our world so interesting. The inspiration behind this business concept has always been to celebrate the diversity of human kind, their ambition, curiosities, ideas and great at “BE”ing attributes. So, the future of it’s great to “BE” ® will move further in a direction that does just that.

One way I will be accomplishing this is on my blog. I will be writing more profile posts that may include an individual, group or organization. I want to delve into some of the characters that enrich, motivate and cause us to question the world around us. Why do they do this and not that? Who are they most influenced by? Did they always feel that way? So many questions and so many people… so, in the coming year I will be exploring these different personalities.

My goal is to give us an opportunity to be motivated in our own lives by their examples and help us to become more accepting of the differences we face every day. Each of us in our own way are truly fascinating people. Also, the most extraordinary people can be found in the most ordinary circumstances. I want to tell the stories of people who encourage us on our own journey, because of who they are in the world. I would love your input and suggestions of people you feel should “BE” Acknowledged.

I will also be looking for hidden gems that under ordinary circumstances go unnoticed. When it comes to the places I go, the people I am with or even the television programming I am watching, I pride myself on noticing the details. I want to bring you some of the details I discover. From the eccentric, magical, mysterious, or simple, there is something interesting that can be revealed. These gems may appear on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest or possibly written about in more detail on my blog.

Now the most exciting part is the one that has YOU going on an exploration with me! This year of exploration will not just be about what I find, but become an opportunity for you to also get out and explore the towns, communities, businesses and area around you.

Remember Who You Are

Four words my father always said as I walked out the door: Remember who you are.

Behind those words were years of pre-peer lessons taught with heaps of praise and parcels of punishment. I knew exactly what he meant -- honesty, loyalty and the self-worth that comes from earning others' respect. Note, not a word about self-esteem.

Nobody cared about kids' self-esteem in the maligned '50s and overrated '60s. They cared about kids' behavior and manners. "Sir" was every dad's name.

A call home from a teacher put an arctic chill in your bones. If you cheated, used profanity or used drugs, fergitaboutit. You might as well tattoo your forehead with an inky T -- traitor.

GREAT EXPECTATIONS

"Remember who you are" meant you were somebody -- a person loved, cared about, invested in. You were a repository of great expectations for people you didn't want to disappoint.

Peers were other people you liked and whose admiration you sought, but who ultimately had less power -- and skinnier belts -- than the folks back home.

If peers make the difference in today's culture, as Harris contends, there's a reason for it. It's not that parents "count zilch"; they've simply sacrificed their roles to their children's peers. Parents still count zillions, but first you have to be a parent.

Twitter, the Elections and Your 140-Character Limit: Don't Hate, Just Vote!

We’ve all heard it before; avoid those controversial conversations concerning religion and politics. I find it funny how that wisdom and advice is always disregarded during an election year!

People have very strong opinions about the issues that are raised during the elections. Our upbringing, our own life’s experiences, our families, education and place in life all contribute and shape our view of the world.

Most times we are thoughtful regarding the opinions of people who oppose our views in life. We demonstrate self-control with our 140-character limit on Twitter. The sheer act of typing gives most of us enough time to take a deep breath and click cancel instead of tweet on that maliciously expressed statement.

When it’s an election year, especially in the months and weeks approaching Election Day, our previous good sense becomes nothing more than impulsive rants that can be hurtful and sometimes down right mean.

Case in point…

I think it is fair to say that regardless of your position, whether you prefer to be called right or left, Republican or Democrat, we are all intrinsically attracted to the same goal of wanting to see our country succeed in regards to the economy, social responsibility and security for all its citizens living within its borders or abroad.

So although we may disagree with the method in which to resolve these important issues, the next time you’re typing those 140 characters, remember we are all Americans, wanting the best for our country and ourselves. We should “BE” Respectful. Remembering each of our own life experiences brought us to this place that makes us support one candidate versus another.

I would like to close this post with a video that on many levels may seem offensive, It uses language I am not accustomed to using and when used in conversations that have a connotation of anger I find it very offensive. With that said, if you watch the video in its entirety you will also understand the very important message it attempts to convey with humor. Keep this in mind as you view the early parts of the video.

Will JC Penney Become AMERICA'S Favorite Store?

Have you been satisfied with the changes going on at JC Penney?

I have heard mixed reviews, some changes people like others they do not. I did my own investigating and found out some information that you may not have been made aware of...

Ron Johnson has been on a mission to re-establish JC Penney as America’s favorite store. In his attempt, they have introduced a new logo, which resembles the American flag as well as implementing a new fair and square pricing strategy. No longer is it necessary to cut and clip coupons to receive the fairest prices from their store. Everyday valueprices can now be expected when shopping at JCP. You can also continue to expect racks of clearance price merchandise that is regularly marked down on the first and third Fridays of the month.

The development of the new JCP has not been well received. Company sales fell more than 20% in first and second quarter earnings and third quarter showed an 11% drop in the S & P Index. Coupon clippers everywhere don’t buy into the concept that they are getting the best Everyday value without having a coupon included in their transaction. Others are dissatisfied with the lack of inventory they see on the sales floor. And still many more have lost their jobs due to the restructuring of departments and positions within the store, that includes eliminating the Catalog department all together.

One of the ways JCP hopes to drive more traffic into the store on weekends is by offering free kids haircuts every Sunday, beginning in November at the JCP Salon. They are also introducing new and trendy brand lines, hoping to draw in the younger customers who have a more disposable income. But this strategy has the ingredients of making the older, loyal JCP customers of yesterday feel excluded.

JCP has taken great lengths to re-imagine itself in the 21^st century, wanting to once again, be America’s favorite store. Most recently, this transformation has introduced their own JCP brand within the men and women’s shops.

I walked through both departments wanting to believe that this was truly AMERICA’S FAVORITE STORE. But all I found was racks and tables stocked with sweaters, shirts, jeans, blazer jackets, and tank tops mostly made in China, among other foreign countries. Not one article of clothing could proudly boast being made in America.

This was Ron Johnson’s perfect opportunity to portray JC Penney as AMERICA’S favorite store, but instead has decided to contribute to the economies of Asia with their new JCP Brand.

This chart illustrates the items I found and the country of origin they are labeled.

None were from America.

Not only have many JCP employees lost their jobs in the restructuring phase, it is unfortunate JC Penney was not willing to contribute to job creation in the United States manufacturing sector, with their own brand line.

Would you have supported JC Penney more or less in the restructuring of the company if they had made better efforts to create a brand made in America? Would you have been willing to pay a little more for those clothes if necessary?
