· Performs on the job intervention subordinate employees on difficult maintenance tasks.
· Maintains good working relationship with a team of subordinate employees and keeps them motivated.
· Carry out monthly market survey for spare parts and materials used for maintenance purposes.
· Implements assigned work order systems, preventive maintenance inspection schedules etc to subordinate employees for the purpose of ensuring proper maintenance of equipment at retail outlets/VMI locations whilst ensuring that approved dispensing pump tolerance limits are adhered to at the retail outlets/VMI.
· Generates purchase Requisitions for the execution of outsourced maintenance works and also for the reimbursement of Retail branch managers minor maintenance spends.
· Carry out equipment failure analysis and generate report for same.
· Directs subordinate employees for the purpose of ensuring that assignments are completed in a safe, proper and timely manner.
· Participates in meetings, workshops and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.

The role: Communications and Public Affairs Associate

These projects will involve activities from preparing presentations and written materials that communicate key messages, to cultivating relationships with media outlets and coordinating with colleagues across the globe.

Responsibilities:

Handle media inquiries from across the West African region (Nigeria, Ghana and Senegal) as well as monitor media activities and manage our local PR agencies.
Organise press briefings, media sessions, and events.
Brief Google spokespeople about issues at hand and work closely with internal cross-functional teams
Contact the media with ideas and be comfortable pitching stories.
Produce briefing documents.

Requirements:

BA/BS degree preferred with a strong academic record.
Professional experience in PR and/or journalism experience with a good knowledge of local media and challenges therein; experience in a fast-paced business or non-profit environment also valuable.
Demonstrated ability to work calmly and maintain good judgment in high-stress environments.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The incumbent reports to and receives guidance and policy support from the Operations Manager
who leads the Nigeria Office that serves the procurement and contracting needs of their
geographical areas and ensuring that procurement and commercial considerations are fully taken
into account in country programmes. S/he coordinates procurement actions and processes in
accordance with the organization’s mandate, financial rules and regulation and procurement
procedures of the UNPFA. The contracting activities encompass procurement, contracting, and
contract management of institutional goods and services suppliers for UNFPA’s programs and for
external clients, which include, Developing Country Governments, donors, NGOs, and other UN
organizations as well as internal customers.
A. Contract Management
-Assist the Office Manger, contracts in the management of long-term agreements in
accordance with UNFPA rules and regulation, procedures, including:
-Review accuracy and completeness of specifications for good/services to be contracted;
-Undertake market research to include all potential good/services providers;
-Prepare and issue Requests for Quotations and Invitation to Bids;
-estimate quotations/offers and recommend suppliers as appropriate;
-Prepare submission/recommendation to the CAP and CRC if applicable;
- Develop and draft contracts for clearance by Programme Specialists / Operations
Manager and obtain approval from the Representative;
-Support in the issuing of contracts;
-Follow up on performance (details below);
-Maintain an accurate and updated list of all UNFPA long-term agreements with dates of
renewals.
Liaise with internal customers and suppliers; Investigate and follow up on any contractual
related problem/inquiry to ensure suppliers’ adequate performance and customers’
satisfaction.
Monitor the performance of LTA suppliers in reference to established Key Performance
Indicators. Provide prompt responses to follow up on any query submitted by other UNFPA
departments and/or clients whether directly involved or not.
B. Supplier Management
Undertake market research in order to evaluate potential new suppliers. Update new
suppliers in the Field Office list of “Approved suppliers”. Advice new suppliers as to
registration requirements and procedures. Register new suppliers in the ERP system.
Keep abreast of market trends and developments in purchasing related field. Maintain an
accurate and active supplier database in support of UNFPA procurement requirements.
Liaise with other United Nations agencies to obtain information of existing Long Term
Agreements and contracts to be able to utilize them in reference to UNFPA requirements.
Coordinate and administer the flow of vendor information in the ERP system and the United
Nations Global Market Place (UNGM), including evaluation of supplier registrations in
accordance with established criteria.
C. Procurement Tools Management
Coordinate and administer the information flow related to products and services available
through Long Term Agreement, including prices, terms and conditions, validity of contracts
and technical as well as logistical information in electronic form that may be available in the
office or for other relevant parties as required.
Monitor and maintain the UNFPA Nigeria internet site, making sure all information is up to
date. Liaise and coordinate with corresponding responsible branches in DMS in reference
to technical developments and enhancements to provide informative and accurate content.

The Job
The appointee will be required to co-ordinate project department’s data information, management and reporting systems including all governance reviews and approval stages and aspects of the whole portfolio of projects. He/She will establish, manage and maintain the project databases and other dedicated activities required for the realization of good project controls and administration.
He/She will review and report on project capital expenditure performance of engineering/construction contractor and project management teams.
The duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
• Maintain up to date portfolio database for all current and future project and manage activities from initiation to completion.
• Develop baseline plans for portfolio projects with the project engineers as well as monitor, track and report actual progress vis-a-vis planned V completion dates.
• Perform quality compliance checks on management of change i.e. Project Management & Simple Engineering Change processes and prepare report to ensure that they meet the requirements prescribed in the management of change procedures
• Produce monthly project reports for the Production Division and maintain key performance indicators (KPls) for the project engineering group
• Prepare yearly budget with 5 years’ look ahead and revise the budget in line with management cap and conduct quarterly budget phasing review
The Person
The right candidate should:
