Thanks for taking the time to bring sides and helping us make our tailgate a great place to hang out.

Saturday was a perfect example of why we do what we do for tailgates. It was an amazing day!

Thanks again for pitching in and bringing side dishes and we hope to see everyone at the Tennessee game. Kick off has been announced for 3:30.
Beef Brisket and Brunswick stew are on the menu.

MENU: Georgia vs. Alabama

We're serving smoked Ribs and BBQ on Saturday.

For a tailgate of this length, we'll be eating both lunch and dinner. But if you buy or make a gallon and someone else can do the same, we're set. Sonny's BBQ sells good Baked Beans.

1-2 Gallons of MacNCheese - If you don't want to make it, Publix sells it. 1 or 2 people bringing MacNCheese helps.

Green Beans, Tater Salad, Stew, Etc are all great fits. Whatever sounds good with Ribs or BBQ.

We'll have the Big Screen TV on bright and early. The main item on the lunch menu will be Margarita Chicken. If you've ever had it at Chili's then you know what I'm talking about, but this is much better. We'll be grilling on site this week too.

Gameday will be on at 10:00am but we'll be there before that to set up and enjoy the morning.

Southern Miss vs. Auburn will be showing on the big screen at 12:30.

Bringing side items is huge help for our tailgate. Believe it or not, preparations are made literally year round for football season and tailgating. Well before the season starts, we spend a lot of money stocking up on paper supplies, bottled water, chafing dishes, sterno cans, table cloths, trailer storage, you name it. I thought you might be interested to know that for the 2007 season, our tailgate cost about $2000 (give or take). This figure excludes another $2000 in "big ticket" purchases, like the trailer in which to store all the equipment.

At $10 a head, it would be tough to find better food or a better part on campus. The good news is that if 10 more people per home game paid, we would break even. I know sometimes it may be tempting not to pay if you're not going to eat, but I just wanted to point out that the $10 is our way of getting back a lot of sunk costs that go into having the awesome experience we have.

If you bring a friend, be a good host and throw in $10 for them. And whatever is left over after we pay our expenses goes right back into the tailgate. Just wait until you see the upgrade for watching the satellite. The only bigger screen on campus is in the scoreboard. Just saying.

Go Dawgs! GATA!

Josh

Georgia Southern Tailgate Plans

Kickoff time for GSU is 12:30 pm. CBS screwed us last year towards the end of the season more than once. S, so remember things are always subject to change, especially as the season wears on. Now if we remain at the top of the pack, that schedule below should hold to form... but one loss and who knows what will happen.
I'm just sayin'.

T

Most game times have now been confirmed. It was one of the best home games and tailgates we've had in a quite some time. And a big shout out to everyone who brought sides and other delectable goodies to the tailgate. Your efforts did not go unnoticed and I am thankful for everyone helping out in that department.

Now onto Kentucky... We were all bummed out that this game turned out to be a 12:30 kickoff, but we have resolved to make the best of this situation.

We'll be there early to set up and enjoy the morning. We're going to have an omelet station and a pancake griddle. I'm sure the other yummy breakfast snacks will be around too. After all what is a tailgate without some sort of pork dish?

Please show up early so we can enjoy our last tailgate of the season!!! If you want to bring a breakfast type food item that would be spectacular as well. If you plan on bringing something just leave a note in the comments section.
Thanks and GO DAWGS!

TW

Auburn Plans -- Football Armageddon

We are rocking the Turducken on Saturday. We seriously need everyone to bring a side dish. We need baked beans, potato salad, green beans, etc. Anything that sounds like it would go well with smoked Turkey, Duck or Chicken. Please leave a note in the comments section that tells us what you're bringing.

The more visibility we have into who's coming and what you're bringing, the better we can plan. We're excited to have all of you, and your guests!

Tiffany cooked Turducken for the 2005 Auburn game, and the feedback was incredibly positive. It was unquestionably one of our best tailgates ever.

We're looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday. We're going to have the TV and Satellite cranked bright and early for ESPN Gameday. We'll be watching Arkansas at Tennessee in the morning, and during commercials we'll be checking out Michigan at Wisconsin, Wake at Clemson and whatever other good games are on.

Remember: The Game kicks off at 3:30 pm. Turducken Photos are below.

See you there.

JW

Troy Tailgate = Canceled

Due to the early kickoff and the marathon from Jacksonville, we're still recovering. So we're going to take a break this week for everyone to enjoy homecoming festivities.

However, Auburn is a 3:30 kickoff so be prepared for an awesome tailgate. The turducken is coming back better than ever. This will be our first 3:30 kickoff since 2005!! No after game plans are currently slated. The Troy game will probably be pretty low key as well as it will also be a 1:00 pm kickoff.

Don't let the low key nature of Saturday's Ole Miss Tailgate discourage you from coming by. We'd love to see you. Nor should the low key nature of the morning tailgate stop you from bringing something interesting to eat for breakfast. Bring it on.

Also -- The Turducken will make its return to the Tailgate scene for the Auburn game. More on that later. Also, I'm of the opinion that the Kentucky game will quite possibly be a 3:30 pm kickoff so we will do something interesting that week as well.

Go Dawgs.

jw

Western Carolina Tailgate Plans

First off, thanks to everyone who came out for the South Carolina game. This coming weekend, we're playing Western Carolina with a 1:00 pm kickoff.

Due to the kickoff time and the nature of the opponent, we're flying pretty lightweight this weekend. We'll serve breakfast in the morning, and we have no tailgate plans after the game.

Bama beat Western Carolina by 50 or so points in Week 1. It'll be interesting to see how we compare to that.

There won't be a $10 food charge this week. It'll be something less depending on how many folks show up. If you want to bring something to eat, that would be great.

Other Tidbits:

Georgia at Bama (Sept. 22nd) doesn't have a kickoff time yet.

UGA vs. WCU practice notes for Sept. 10th

Saturday's weather should be cooler than last week. High of around 84 degrees.

JW

South Carolina Tailgate Plans

I just wanted to send a quick update to get to word out there. I'm sorry this is so late in the week, but I think Josh, Jasen and I have all been out of town this week.

First, I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who brought sides and desserts last week. I think everything was a huge success and it helped having so much food to feed the big crowd. I think there will be at least a crowd equal to last week, and maybe a little larger because it is a conference opener.

The plan as it stands now is to have chicken, chicken, and more chicken. I'm going to cook it a few different ways like smoking some of it, grilling some of it and also making some beer can chicken. It will be the same deal as last week, since it is a 5:45 kick off, in essence we will probably need to eat twice. So there will be plenty of meat and if it goes like last week, plenty of sides!

So... whatever creative sides you can think of to go with chicken please bring it!!

Just leave a comment as to what you are going to bring so that everyone can see it. Please e-mail us or leave a comment if you have any questions.

GO DAWGS!!!!

Oklahoma State Entree and Sides (Lunch AND Dinner)

Update - Thanks to all those who are willing to bring side dishes for the day. We all really appreciate it and look forward to the good eats! I just wanted to let everyone know that we do have chaffing dishes to keep things hot as well. We forgot to mention that earlier. So if you have a hot dish that you would like to bring that's fine too, we'll transfer it to the chaffing dishes when you get here. Just please leave a comment that includes what you are going to bring or if you have any questions.

Go Dawgs!

A Cowboy fan reacts to playing UGA

We've nailed the meat portion of the menu the Oklahoma State game. We're serving Brisket, Beef Ribs and Pork Ribs. The brisket is a nod towards the cow herdering visitors that are coming to town to play our Dawgs. The pork is being served because...well...it's pork. And therefore it's awesome.

Tiffany will smoke the meat for 15+ hours on Friday and coat them with plenty of Tender Loving Care.

As for side dishes. We need your help!
It's impossible for any one or two people to prepare enough sides for a group our size. We need you guys to bring veggies, starches and anything else that goes well with BBQ beef or pork.

Please use the comments button below, and let us know if you're planing to bring a side. We're going to be serving both lunch and dinner, so we're going to need a LOT of food to serve a group this size.

Remember Night Game (6:45 pm start) + Home Opener = Large Crowd

If you're bringing any guests, that's great. If you want to watch it, just click on it. The site will open the video at the top of the page. It's pretty cool.

However, like anything else with Youtube, the quality is all over the place. I don't pick the videos. It's just searching on Georgia Bulldog related keywords. So if you get crap. Blame Google. A 3:30 kickoff will give us time to put together a bigger event. Probably not something as large as the UT Extravaganza, but it'll be interesting.

We're going to do Chili - everyone bring a pot of something warm to eat. We'll having chaffing dishes to keep things warm and we can probably run some crock pots too, since our generator is big enough to power most of the tailgates on South Campus :)

If you can't bring some Chili or a pot of something for others to eat then we could use the following items:
Fritos
Sour Cream
Shredded Cheddar Cheese
Corn Bread
and any other condiments that are good with Chili.
Please use the comments section to let us know what you are bringing. Everyone enjoy the morning off.

However, I would like to pose the idea that we bring back the Chili cook off for the Tech Game. Hopefully it will be at 3:30 and chili will be a good break from all of the Thanksgiving regulars.

GO DAWGS!!!

Vandy Tailgate

This is going to be short and sweet. Since we are facing another 12:30 kickoff plans will be minimal this week. We're going to do BBQ again and we'll eat before the game.
The cost wil be $5 and feel free to bring some snack/sides.
No plans for post game since there is nothing but crappy football on until 7:45.

Sorry this is so late...
