Random Question~ What would you do or have done about this!?
I had my hair coloured today first they got it wrong i asked for black the lady put white Blondie! lucky the other lady noticed she laughed it off ,then said Today has been hectic oh well!? it was washed out just in time (thank goodness) No We are terribly sorry" Nothing and still charged me the $80 Grrr
What would you have done .........
Yes i said nothing and paid the Money i was pretty angry and pissed off.

What else has happened today i feel fat,frumpy and always drink coffee so i don't have to feel hungry i have 9 coffee's per day with 2 sugars in them i filled up a jar to see what it looked like tonight with sugar and i said yep ,but had another coffee. I watched super skinny versus super size and the biggest loser while eating some chips???

I am good at giving other people advice about eating and use will power etc...
but can't listen to my own advice? I waddle down the street. i hide in baggy clothes and lie to myself most times and say i feel great!

I have tried so many diets i should be an expert on the subject by now!!!
I binge at nighttime on chocolate then feel sick and really guilty!

Any good suggestions please!?

I was sent some sunscreen a month ago to try with my family. So Melbourne having a fare few scorching days what better way to try this product and head down to the beach for a few days.
So we slipped ,slopped and slapped on hats and of course the sunscreen .

(OK you can stop singing that add we all loved to watch) OK then keep singing lol

We found these positive points about it were:
1) Good Quality
2) Never got sunburt using it
3)it was never oily
4) Water resistant
5)Did not smell bad
6)Did not make you feel uncomfortable at all

Choosing the right sunscreen is crucial to ensure sensitive skin stays moisturised, healthy and protected from the sun’s harmful rays.

whether your at the beach , at the pools ,beach, soaking up /getting a tan in the backyard on your banana lounge chair (i so gotta get myself one these days)
Just some pretty interesting info for you:

Even i learnt something new see!

Even though i have olive skin like my daughter we tan pretty much within 15 mins of just walking around the park i still make sure i put my sunscreen on .
Cos last year my daughter got well pretty much sunburn as she forgot to put it on . OUCH!

Let's chat about the taboo thing called (Pap Smears) EEEEK!!!!

Today i am going to chat about the taboo subject that is (PAP SMEARS) cos really loads of people are and do get embarrassed they put their hand over their mouth and mumble or just change the subject.

So today i am going to be pretty open and honest cos that's who i am !
First here is my story so you will understand this:

18 years ago i found out i was pregnant so i needed to go for a smear and this was my very first one so i asked my sister to come with me which she did. So we headed off to The Royal Women's as i had an appointment that morning .

Now one would ask some questions as i did and i found the hospital to be pretty dirty not clean ,rude staff /nurses. Then my turn came i was led into a tiny room (really i doubt you could swing a bloom in cat in it) So i asked have you been working here long and will this hurt as i am 7 weeks pregnant
The nurse just looked at me and said You will be fine this is nice and quick you'll see!
Well she wasn't joking .

I asked my sister to hold my hand . The nurse turned to me after rolling her eyes and said come on be a women you don't need your hand held or are you a baby! my response was "Um pardon"?

As i felt already pretty awkward lying on this hard table bed with my legs spread she literally shoved that cold metal long thing so far up inside i tensed all up and let out this enormous deathly scream as i was in such pain i grabbed the nurses arm and pinched her so hard she said (ouch )

I had to yank that probe out from me myself and ended up in severe pain falling off the bed and doubling over in agony crying my eyes out ~

Not before whacking it across the wall to bang on the other side. None of the staff back then had a lovely manner at all!!! Not a soul asked if i was ok?! As my sister helped my stagger back to the bus stop so we could get home.

So you see it is true i have been told a few times i really should get this done and now. it has been 18 years since i had one and just like the dentist i am so petrified (as i type this post i clinch with fear)

So i fall under the two most horrifying things of phobias now 1) Dentist 2) pap smears

I know i will be criticised / critique that i should grow up , just do it yada yada yada..........
Try being me for a change and having these horrible phobias! yes i know it could well save my life .

As mothers we often feel guilty about asking time out and doing things for ourselves. Did you know that you actually save money by taking care of yourself and indulging a little?

As crazy as it might sound, think about it. You know the old saying “When mummaain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy”. If you are taking care of yourself, making time for you and ensuring your needs are met as well you will feel happier and more relaxed. This has a flow on effect with the rest of your life.

1.) You make better decisions

When you have had a little time out your mind is clearer and you can make better decisions. This results in you being able to look for the best bargains at the shops, not impulse buy as much since many impulse buys happen because we feel we deserve a treat since we never get any time out.

2.) You can focus

With a clear mind after some ‘me time’ you are better able to do things like menu plans, sort your budget, make sure all bills are paid on time etc.

3.) You do not feel neglected

It is easy to feel run down and neglected when all you seem to do is pick up after everyone else, run them around, do all the cleaning, cooking and often work as well.

By taking some time out for yourself you are ensuring you do not get run down as easily and can take better care of everyone.

4.) Regular ‘me time’ or treatments is cheaper

Doing little things to indulge yourself on a regular basis is cheaper than blowing the budget on a new piece of clothing/trip to the day spa or whatever because you feel neglected and feel you deserve it.

By taking time out to look after and treat yourself you won’t feel the need to splurge and will not end up feeling guilty.

5.) Less stress

When we are stressed we are more likely to get sick which results in time off work, medical bills/medication and the house can quickly get run down. It also often results in more take away until mum is better. Taking care of yourself won’t completely stop you getting sick or stressed out but it will help.

So what are some ways you can treat yourself for cheap?

How about a nice bath with candles and things, a walk along the beach or swim(without kids), DIY facial, manicure/pedicure or other beauty treatment, an hour to yourself to do whatever you like, yoga, sleep in (arrange with your husband or someone to look after the kids), make a special dessert just for you and enjoy it in peace and quiet, anything simple thing you enjoy doing aim to have some time each week to do it.

Its really sad when you lose someone so close to you.
It's hard to try and want them back when you really need them right now.
it's especially hard when you lose a loved one when you are a child.

All i remember about my grandmas (Oma Gitty) with her white wispy long hair and used to wear like chopsticks in it or a big clip to hold it in place was she always spoilt me rotten ,
When ever i got angry i just use to go next door as she lived right next door to my parents in a block of flats. Before Dinner she gave me all these kitkats or Mints lol

She used to listen to everything i had to say , She would take me to the park to feed the ducks under that beautiful willow tree. (She called it the Andy Pandy tree) She use to pick me up from school and and told my teacher off in kindy (gawd) That's a story for another day OK!

I think i was about 10 and i remember coming home from school went straight up the driveway through the back gate into the flats and i new something was not right . You see i saw something that looked like two people with a wheel bed and a white sheet with a lump underneath . I heard my mother call me to get inside now! I asked her what happened and why can't i see my Oma??

(Oma Gitty died at aged 70 1911 - 1981 R.I.P )

My mother would not answer me ,my sister took me upstairs to watch telly i snuck back and listen ed half way sitting on the steps as the front door opened and it was my mother's best friend asking about the flowers for the funeral. I turned to my sister who looked at me and she said . Oma died today.

The day before always plays in my head as it went like this I had some argument with my parents so i ran next door to tell my gran and she was on their side and said maybe you should say "sorry and explain yourself" Well at 10 i was ~ a real brat and got hot and heavy and said now your on there side and i started to cry looked at her and said " I hate you and i wish you were dead"!

I never new that my words would happen that very next day. So after nearly 20 years i needed to see her and say 'I was Sorry" and that i never meant to say such nasty ,haunting words that would echo in my head for so long so last week i went to visit her at the cemetery and give her flowers .

it was really hot the temp was 38 deg but suddenly i felt a chill in me and i knew she was with me and finally forgave me for being a shit of a kid. I came home and slept and dreamt of her and it was so surreal like she was sitting next to me we hugged and she said "Danielle ~ you are a beautiful lady and everything will be fine and things will eventually work them selves out. I woke up with a tear down my face and smiled and i said yes i know that now oma and thank you x

Australia day= good excuse to get drunk :P nah seriously its to celebrate the "discovery" of the country by captain cook in 1788.

and the cape flags! and bikini flags! and drunk dickheads bellowing garbled versions of the anthem down the street til 4 am!

oh Australia.. how classy you are !

Anyway so we are going to head down the beach and have Fish 'n' Chips for lunch. See nothing really exciting here haha.

Well that came around so fast i didn't even notice at all! Until Chloe said to my a few days ago when she woke up "Happy Blogiversary mum" Your blog is now 2 years old. I said huh? and went to check and sure enough she was right .

So i have made sure i wont forget the big # 3 day hey lol.
OK so here was my first post about School Bullies and i have already posted about blogging and me
and this post about more Blogging

I am learning more every day and every year as it goes by ;

1) I have now removed word verification off (about bloody time right)

2) I interact more with twitter than ever before ~ it's my other highly addiction lol....

3) I am doing posts more for me and not to please others

4) I do comment more cos i make the time to read and put my input if i can

5)I have slowly got a balance to blog and in twine it into the family schedule

6)Still working on trying to finish all my challenges i have on this blog (my goal is for the end of June)

7) I have learnt how to understand and read SEO and Google Analytics

8) Don't be scared to ask for another Bloggers help as they will always point you in the right direction

9) Always try to go to Blog conferences , join up blog forums and keep going and blog till your hearts content.

So there you have it and seeing as i am still up at this god for saking hour of 2AM !???
i could not sleep ,but my eyes are telling me to just shut down ~ My brain is still going a million miles an hour *sigh* Oh dear .

Well after watching my all time favourite show last night NCIS yes i am a fan love the show to bits some episodes are so good some are are "yeah like i knew that was coming"

I have been trying to find songs i like but really haven't listen to much at all this week
Anyway as i was watching an episode of NCIS they had this song playing in the back ground and it was so catchy i had to find the original lads who sang it and i did LOL...

They are Russian i think? not sure if this was the only song they did but Chloe and i love singing to it

I Need Your Tips on Making New Family Friends

So Curly has spent about four years at daycare, mostly full-time. It’s been a good experience. However, I have found many of the parents don’t even greet you back, don’t even acknowledge that you held the gate open for them, nor even look you in the eyes when the carers try to initiate a conversation involving you and them.

I’m a very friendly person and I look for opportunities to make new friends whenever I go out (if I’m in a good mood). But although many of the parents have been taking their kids to that daycare for the last four years, only a handful have ever said a word to me or my husband.

Maybe they’re too busy, miserable or plain rude! I don’t know. Was I hoping for too much? I suppose. 2012 is Curly’s last year there. He’ll be going part time since he will be starting kindergarten in February. So that would mean entering a brand new crowd of kids and their mums and dads. Now if this year we don’t succeed at making some new friends from the school, then I’m going to scream!

So here’s my question to you mums, dads and guardians...how do YOU go about making new friends as a family and how do you make friends with the parents of your kids’ friends?

Toot Toot Chugga chugga (insert Wiggle it)

A friend bought this to my attention and i just thought i would post about it and let you all have your say .
Now don't get me wrong My family just loved the Wiggles so much we went to most of the concerts and bought yes every single video i could find as soon as a new one hit the shelf i ran out the door to grab one lol.

Any way this was going around Face book etc... about Sam having to leave and Greg coming back to join the gang (Did i get that right) ? So you all heard Greg left cos he had some illness and decided to hang up his yellow skivvy and so they looked for a replacement and in came a man called Sam.

I never watched Sam so i can't really comment ~ But i have heard he was a little better then Greg?

OK so here is what my friend Kate had to say about the whole deal:

Right. I'm having a whinge and I'll start it here! I'm cranky with that ex yellow Wiggle Greg Page! He left cos he was sick. Fair enough. He cashed in his shares and started a luxury high end mansion building business. With the GFC went broke. And now wants back in. Bye Bye Sam. Poor form I say!!!

What happened to his illness that forced him out in the first place. Has he had a miraculous recovery??? I think the condition he had was called greed.

Here are just what some people had to say on the matter:

Greed is the condition that he has now, apathy was the condition that he had then.

Greed to make more money and capitalize on him fame to make it big in real estate. And then greed to jump back in the cash cow wagon that is the Wiggles.

Poor Sam after all his hard work to sack him like that. He didn't even have the chance to say goodbye to his fans.

They didn't even give Sam the chance to say goodbye and gave him a lousy $60,000 pay off...wtf??? I am glad that he refused to use a script management gave him on what to say and instead open a YouTube account and said his own goodbye....poor form indeed Wiggles.

Showcasing the very best in world music over two stages as well as a range of dance and craft workshops, cuisine from around the globe, rides and entertainment.

A talented line up of musicians will perform at the spectacular 2012 Globe to Globe World Music Festival being held at Namatjira Park in Springs Road, Clayton South on Saturday 28 January from (12noon-10pm) and on Sunday 29 January (from 12noon-6pm).

Proudly presented by the City of Kingston, this fantastic event showcases the very best in world music over two stages, as well as a range of dance, craft and cooking workshops, cuisine from around the globe and rides and entertainment.

The World Music Stage will feature performances by talented world musicians including: Ajak Kwai, Musiki Manjaro, Sol Nation, Future Roots Sound System, Passi Jo and Warako Musica, Ska Vendors and Beth George.

A range of cultural performances will be presented on the folkloric stage and there will also be workshops in salsa, African dance, belly dance and flamenco for people to try.

The Festival, now in its 12th year, has grown to become one of the most highly regarded world music festivals in Victoria showcasing cultural diversity and world music. Many thousands of people attend the two day event each year.

Learning about styles of Dance (part one) Ballet

I have been asked on many occasions in emails or twitter even Face book to write a post about dancing all the styles from all that i know so as an Ex Dance teacher i think i will do these in parts so today we shall start with Ballet . Here are some of the questions i have been asked about :

In Ballet their are syllabuses what are they ?
I only now of 2 syllabuses and for me they are R.A.D. (Royal academy of Dance) and Cecchetti is more technically challenged and is where the arms and hands blend and flow into the next position as you dance.
RAD ~ Gives you a broad graded examination work it also gives you free movement and character
Also gives you an in depth study for your teachers training if you want to pursue that far.

At What age should my Child start ballet classes?

I would have to say not before the age of seven because their bones are not strong until then and the demand and physical strain on their tiny bodies .

There are classes for under sevens normally called fairy ballet or pre primary ballet ~ Where they move and jump around to nursery rhymes . They will learn the five positions of the feet and arms first ,making sure they have good posture.

What are the levels for Ballet class?

Pre Primary ~ ages between 5-7 year olds. 45 minutes approx

They will be shown how to control arms, hands travel movements, skipping forward and also backwards with a few simple jumps ,sideways gallops.

Grades 1/2 ~ ages 7-8 year olds. I hour class

Student learn to use the Ballet barre for their exercise ,learn correct posture , working with a group , start learning Ballet term vocabulary , Hungarian peasant steps are learnt ( to dance solo,in groups or a duet)

Grade 3 ~ 8-11 year olds 1 hour class

Your child will do much more barre work , lots of stretching and strengthening of the muscles , coordination with the body ,learn to do pirouettes and start learning the character Russian peasant style .

Grade 4/5 ~ 11-13 year olds 1 hour class

Students at this level perform specific exercises at the barre and centre.

Extending their step vocabulary.
Increasing stamina, discipline and concentration.
Developing expressiveness and artistry.
Building strength for pre-point work.
Developing self expression through free movement.

Grades 6,7,and 8 ages 12 -16 1 .5 hour class time

Students who have progressed to pre professional level, now have an extensive ballet vocabulary.

Developing good secure posture, co-ordination of the whole body.
Performing articulated footwork and secure use of legs.
Demonstrating line and placement of arms and body.
Working toward strong pirouettes and elevation.
Developing a sense of performance and artistry.

Progressing to point work at the teachers discretion.

Advanced student teacher /Dance teaching ages 16 -18 2 - 2.5 hours of training every day

Students at this level have a vast vocabulary of classical ballet.

Most have achieved passing on all the above grades up to Grade 8.

Working towards Advanced 1 and Advanced 11. Students at this level are required to attend 5 to 6 every day of the week even weekends . At this level i gave up lots of my social life to achieve what i had to .

oh and yes to Boys can learn Ballet as well my favourite male dancers are

Mikhail Baryshnikov and Rudolf Nureyev

My Answer ~ I have always wanted to travel far away and to see everything . I would love to travel to exotic islands and to see famous landmarks and see other cultures i have no specific country in mind as yet .

So after i got a little bored last night well i couldn't sleep as nothing was on television that was interesting enough so i put my ear phones in my phone cranked up the music lol and went to pinterest yes that's right i'd say it was around 11:30PM and i was just bum min i liked and re pinned loads of items i even pinned some of my own stuff lol.

So when i did start to yawn a little i looked at the time and thought "NO WAY" i had already 3 coffee in all this time cos i went to double check this time i saw in the kitchen and low and be hold it said 3:45AM ! SHIT!!!

I did not even have a nana nap at all and had only had 5 hours sleep but now it is catching up on me

Today my theme is plain ol Blogging ~ But of course it is hehe ENJOY

Getting Back to Work

Here are the facts. For almost 4 years I haven’t been employed.

Being a stay-at-home-mum was never part of my plans, until my youngest child developed severe allergies. Rather than put him in childcare I changed my hours and worked nights so I could look after him during the days.

This was great in theory but I hadn’t factored in the ‘I can be horrible when I’m tired’ element. This element was more powerful than I’d given it credit for and resulted in us having to re-assess our plans. In the end my husband and I agreed, the best decision for the family would be, for me to take some time off.

The idea was I would raise our children, while writing a fabulous book. From there my career as a writer would take off, leaving me in the enviable position of never having to return to work again.**

And then hard, sharp dose of reality slapped me in the face. My fabulous book is still on the way – but for purely financial reasons I need to return to work this year.

My youngest child is starting primary school and my oldest is starting high school, so between dropping them off and picking them up I need to fill a few hours with some kind of money-making activity.

I started looking for work in November. But the search was made difficult by the fact unless I found work for weekends or nights I wouldn’t be able to start until school starts in February.

I applied for numerous jobs and heard nothing. Silence was the stern reply -ouch. It then came to my attention that my self-esteem is strongly linked with my ability to gain employment.

Driven by the necessity to pay bills and buy food, I kept applying for various positions but the non-responses continued. Each one left me feeling a little more disheartened.

Then finally in January someone called, they wanted to interview me for one of the jobs I’d applied for. My first reaction was cheering, ‘Yay’, and then it hit me - I hadn’t been interviewed for a job interview in over 8 years. I’m not going to lie, I was nervous and close to vomiting but I was glad to finally have cracked the next step.

The interview was great, and horrendous at the same time. I walked out relieved, knowing that I had been nervous and probably not given the right answers but relieved I had survived my first interview, and I hadn’t vomited on anyone. My confidence was returning and I knew I would do better next time.

I haven’t heard back from the recruiter for that job. Honestly, I don’t expect to but I walked away from her office feeling confident and better prepared to try again.

Which,as luck would have it, is going to be sooner rather than later because I already have another interview lined up. Hopefully this time after I crack open the makeup bag and slip on a pair of heels, I’ll actually manage to sound confident, articulate and employable. Keep your fingers crossed, and maybe when school goes back in February I’ll be back in the workforce.

**For me writing is a love-hate relationship that does not classify as work.

Comping / Sweeping and Wife Swap!

A Few days ago i was watching the UK version of (Wife Swap) We here now have it in Australia .

Anyway the leave there families for 2 weeks and try and learn what they can get out of living with a new family for the first week they have to read and do everything written down in the manual they are given as to what that family does.

Then the second week the get to change the rules around for worse or better lol.
So this family i was watching spent twelve hours a day looking and entering competitions or sweepstakes,the mother said she even buys five bags of kitty litter (um she doesn't even have any pets) ??

Their children are to fend for them selves these kids where aged 7 ,12 and 10.

Now my daughter asked me this the other day:
"Mum would you ever do wife Swap here"
I answered really quick NO WAY !

Not sure about you ,but would you let a stranger look through your things and look after your hubby and kids??

No one knows my how to look after my husband better then me and only me or my kids!

Anyway i was quite interested in what it really takes to enter comps or sweeps to try and get that high feeling of "OMG! I got mail and i won something !

so i asked on twitter and found Michelle of Queen of Comps she is a mum and adores entering comps like me lol and asked her to give my readers some advice on how to win small or big ~ Just win so here is what she said to me :

Hi!!!

Well where do I start?!

I'll give you a quick run down of who I am I guess!

I'm a SAHM mum to 3 girls, aged 7,4, and almost 2.

I don't really know what advice to offer but I'll give it my best shot!

The first thing I ever won was when I got the sack after my boss found out I was pregnant, and I was sitting round the house, thinking what am I going to do?

I just happened to be listening to the radio and heard a competition to win a years supply of chocolate so I rang in, and won!!

It just continued from there I guess!

I basically enter anything and everything I can find; (and I really do mean EVERYTHING!) I look out for promotions on Facebook and twitter; I regularly buy magazines as they can have some great competitions in them.

I keep an eye out for things when I'm shopping that have competitions on the packaging and I buy the product and enter those.

I also am a regular listener to the radio and have found the trick is to vary the stations so you can hear what competitions they may have.

For example, no use listening to a station if they are only giving away CDs when another station is giving away concert tickets or something a bit better!

Of course, as with anything you want to do well with in life, you need to really devote a fair amount of time into entering.

I get so sick of people saying "I never win."

I say, "Well do you enter anything to win?" and am often given "No" as a response!!

It is really like a job for me; I'm dedicated, focused and some competitions do require a certain amount of skill too (particularly the 25 words or less ones).

Make your answers unique, witty and a bit 'out there', as judges like to see that I think.

Also, always read the T&C's of the comp as you may be able to enter more than once, it's good to know just what the conditions are.

I have been very fortunate to win alot of prizes (I couldn't even guess how many, but I do try and keep a list on my computer.)

To give you an indication, it's about 10 pages long!

Wordless Wednesday ~ Mother & Daughter Days

Yesterday i took Chloe to the movies to see "Happy Feet 2" and out to lunch we had a girly day just the two of us it was rather nice We even did a little bit of budget shopping of course i did not find really anything i liked but she grabbed some shoes get this they where only five Dollars and this i think it's either a bracelet ($ 2) or an anklet ? Never the less i like her bargains (Now that's a bargain right! )
