Well, Hello Scrapland!

WOW, I can't believe it has been almost a year since my last post! I been going to college and fall term I did 4 very hard medical classes, plus life has just been crazy! Working on my associates degree and the rest of the classes I need to take are not offered until next fall, so with enough Pell Grant left, I am able to take 3 photograph classes. WOO HOO, something I am very passionate about. What I would love to do is photo restoration and other services as well. I am so excited, but one step at a time. Classes first and a new business plan.

The photo's I have posted, are part of the my digital photography class and we are learning to use CS5 and the tools to edit photos to look their best, and print their best. I know I have found lots of tips through the years of scrapping but I was totally amazed at the things I didn't know it could do. Here is another photo I post on FB too! It was an over cast day, manual setting so if it isn't the most prefect picture, I am learning to correct them to look better. Will let you know when I print them in class.

I am sharing with you as you all have been a big part of the encouragement and have gave me the support I need to follow a dream instead of a 9 to 5 job. I can do this, especially with wonderful friends like you in my corner.

I will be sharing all the tips I learn, in hopes it may help you out as well. I miss Scrapland and I am BACK! Will also be updating you on a few other events that have happened over the last year. Here is one of the most important one, please welcome my newest grandson, Mateo!

Good morning Scrapland!
We are over “hump day” and it is almost to the weekend, WOO HOO. I hope this finds you safe and not snowed in without utilities! What a snow storm the United States had this week. 30 some states were affected. Seeing some of the videos and news reports made me feel glad I was in one of the few states that didn’t get it. I so remember the snow storm in the 1970’s around Thanksgiving. Kind of the same thing, 20 plus inches dumped over night. Not fun at all as we were visiting our grandma in Auburn Hills, Michigan (was called Auburn Heights back in the day). We lived in Independence, KY and they closed Interstate 75 the day we were to return home. My brother and I had concert tickets to see Electric Light Orchestra in Cincinnati, Ohio. You can only imagine two teenagers falling apart because we couldn’t get home in time for the concert. Funny the things that were important to us back then…(little blast from the past!)

I would like to share the layouts I created with WARM WINTER WISHES. I had so much fun playing with this kit. And it is funny, my first reaction to seeing the preview was “this one is going to be a real challenge for me”. SURPRISE….I did two layouts the night Linda shared it with me. Got up the next morning and did two more. I think WARM WINTER WISHES helped me get my MOJO back, that is for sure! Thank YOU Girlfriend…tee hee! Please note that my layouts will not be entered in the give away, as I have been doing some taste testing for her before she released the kit, but here they are.

Happy New Year, Blog Friends!!!!

I can’t believe it has been so long since I have posted to my blog. To sum it up an one sentence, I had been very burnt out and lost my creative flow. Life has been a big contributor to that for me. BUT it is time to, “Pick myself up, dust my self off and START all over again!”

SO with that said, I will take baby steps here, and post a little about a few things I would like to share with Scrapland and my friends/followers. Plus I have been doing some sewing and quilting. Something I haven’t done in a long time. I so enjoyed it. Can’t wait to share with you!

I did say before I became MIA, that I was working on some rag quilts, lap size throws for my little guys and I can now show them to you, now that Christmas has come and gone and they have them.

The first one is the one I made Javier. He was the one who was at Wal-mart with me one day as I was getting some fabric for the baby quilt I made for Linda Walton’s Granddaughter, BABY Girl! (humm, did I share the final pictures with you. I will have to look). Funny we were in Wal-mart with the boys yesterday and Dusty got some fabric to make a laptop cover out of and as we were standing, waiting for the clerk to cut the fabric, Javier came walking up to us with two more bolts of fabric (one with Curious George, which he said was for him and the other was from the Disney movie, Cars for his brother Xander). Dusty and I looked at each other and started laughing before he even said a word about them. I asked him, “Baby Javi, are you going to start sewing too?” He replied,”NO! These are for you to make another quilt for us.” (remember, he is only 6 years old. Smart as a whip, he thinks!). Of course, Xander who was with us too, says, “Yes Grandma, Yes. We want you to make us another quilt because it has been REALLY cold!” But no, they did not sucker Grandma this time, as that is how I got started one these! They did turn out really CUTE, don’t you think? I made a pillow and personalized sham (pillow case), with opening in the back with room enough to keep the quilt in it when they are not using it. THEY love them!!!! But Poor Mikey, I still don’t have his done. He is the oldest and I am making his bigger. That is what I am working on now!

I started making these around the same time of my last post, my vacation to visit my parents, getting back it was Thanksgiving, then my daughter and the boys were moving and they had come to stay with me for two weeks until the apartment was ready. Then of course Christmas was just around the corner ect ect… There were two events in the middle of all that I went to for my older grandkids had . . . SOOOO I have a lot to share with you over the next few weeks.

So miss this form of communication. Our personal blogs seems to be falling by the wayside since the newer social networking have become so popular. FaceBook and Twitter are fun and a quick way to share and keep up with each other, BUT…blogging is much more personable, don’t you think? Don’t get me wrong, if you have a facebook account, you know that I am on it A LOT…but I still like visting my digi-scrap and designer friends on their personal blogs.

MY New ETSY Shop is OPENED!

It has been so long since I have blogged and I have so much to share so I will start by adding a couple of things to each post over the next few days. Tonight I just wanted to share with you that are paper scrappers, that I have decided to open an Etsy store and begin by selling A LOT of paper scrapping items that I have bought with those "GOOD" intentions of starting a paper scrapped album, well I have tried and really not to happy with it. I have digitally scrapped for so long that it is just too over whelming to create a paper page as well as the ones I do digitally. The supplies you need, tools and it seems you are always missing that one more items to make your creation complete.

The reason I am cleaning out and selling these items is to make room to get back to piecing and quilting along with sew projects. Also trying to make enough to get my NEW sewing machine I would love to have. I sent a letter to Santa, have been really good all year and so hoping He can come up with the money for it.

After I get thing cleaned out, set up my sewing area in my office, I will be making craft items handmade on my Etsy store too. It is so funny after looking through all the stuff I have collected over the years, I can't just buy one to try it and see if I would like it, so have have hundreds of dollars wrapped up in paper scrapping that in the last 4 years have never opened most of them, crazy isn't it! I only hope to find someone like me, who loves a GREAT deal on this stuff.

I have a few events I have been to lately that I am editing the photos so that I can post them so that you can see what a crazy my last couple of months has been. As soon as I finish up a mini kit I would like to share with you for the Christmas Around the World event that will be posted Dec 1, 2010 and run through the end of the year. I have saw the list and there are a tons AWESOME designers so get you hard drives cleaned up and backed up as Santa will be releasing his goodies for the world wide web of digital scrapper.

VACATIONS TIME….woo hoo! FREEBIE for YOU!

I am getting so excited, I am going to leave tomorrow for a two week vacation to visit my parents and get some much needed REST, RELAX and REJUVIATE! I can’t believe what my family has been through in the past few months and it is time for me to take some time for myself. So…I will be MIA for the two weeks as I am going to visit, read a couple of books and find my inter-self and maybe a few nature photograph trips would be great too, it is fall and I am hoping to see some fall colorful leaves in the country side.

Although I haven’t done much scrapping the past couple of weeks I would like to share a few new things the designers have release lately and as I was cleaning, I found and finished a freebie kit for you to work with while I am gone.

New kits and CT work Catch up

Happy FRIDAY and I am very excited to to say that I got good news from the doctor today, well mostly. Other than what I already knew, my blood pressure is been running on the high side, all my other tests came back good. She said most of what has been making me feel bad is two things, One and most of all, STRESS. and Two I have carpultonal (not sure it is spelled right and spell check in Live Writer didn’t know either…LOL. TOO much (trackball) sitting at the computer. This may be also caused by a pinched nerve in my neck or the tension in my neck again, caused by STRESS.

So, it was a good thing I had already planned a trip away from everything and everyone that is causing the STRESS in my life at the moment. I am excited to be going to visit my mom for two week (Oct 6 through Oct 20). I have been doing a lot of thinking the last few days and I am trying very hard to stop ignoring my self and health because most of what has got me this way are things I can’t control or want to.

Between now and Oct 6, I will be getting caught up on a few things my designers have coming up or have already released and while I am gone I am going to try to stay off the computer as my laptop bite the dust a while ago and I don’t like using other peoples computer, especial if they don't have PSCS4 or the tools I use to scrap. Should give my arm and hand a rest too. I have a couple of books I am taking so I have something to do on the plane and the evenings. I am so ready to sit around and do NOTHING and relax with a book or two!

Good morning Scrapland and Bloggers!
I am excited to celebrate OUR BLOGOVERSARY with you. This being my 3rd year of blogging and sharing with you from My Digital World~ and with my BFF who took a while to get me to really enjoy blogging. Bon Scrapatit Designs AKA Linda Walton AKA my BFF, both started out together on a very well know site working together and getting know each other. I’ll have you know we were rolling ideas off each other all the time. Chatting on where we wanted this new personal way to share our creative digital scrapping and designing talents we had started learning, lots of times together for hours on Skype! As we learned, we shared with you. But I have to admit that I fought it at first, as I don’t have a very good talent of putting words together to express what I am trying to say most of the time, but with my BFF’s help, patients and lots of editing, I learned to express without asking Linda to edit all I had to say and share with you. She always said, “Four eyes are better than two.” We have had MANY MANY laughs together and tears as well but without Linda’s help, I don’t think I would of blogged long this long at all. I learned to enjoy sharing through words and goodies for you with a lot of inspiration, support of my readers and my BFF. I can not thank you enough, Linda for all your support, patients, loving encouragement to share though my creative talents of scrapping through my Blog! Love you girlfriend and Happy Blogoversary to you too!
OK, now as I was looking through my first few blog posts, I came up with the idea for what I wanted to share with you on my special day, My BLOGOVERSARY! I stared a kit with a color palette someone had shared with me and got about 12 papers made and decided to put that kit on hold and REVISE (extremely, REVISE) the first kit I shared on my blog 3 years ago. Remember, Well I dug out the previews to share with you…HOW PRIMATIVE is this…..LOL!

But I have come a long way from this I think.

Hoping this find everyone have a Great “TGIF”! It has been a long week of drama but looking forward to having some ME time over the weekend. I may just turn off all the phones, IM’s and stay off FaceBook and Blogger to just sit here and do some creating! Wanted to share a couple of new releases with you from a couple of the designers I create for and Hope that everyone is enjoying their holiday (in the US it is Labor Day Weekend and I think I read that it is Father’s Day in Australia this Sunday) weekend. I have been scrapping a lot so far this weekend, and chatting with my BFF on Skype. Thank you Linda for the wonderful sharing time we had today. Baby Girl is just too SWEET! OK enough babbling, first A WORK IN PROGRESS has a new kit called, “Autumn” for Kim. It is another CT appreciation kit Vicki did for Kim….Very pretty and just right for the up coming season here in the US, Fall. You can find it in her store H*E*R*E.

Next is a kit from the NEW designer at Scrap That Idea, Laramie. Her kit is so very pretty and was awesome to work with. Now I know you know that I have grandson’s and that I scrap them a lot, well I am telling you this as I told Laramie that I sometimes challenge myself to take a GIRLY type kit and scrap the boys with it….well here is my “Beach Bums” having a wonderful time at the beach this summer. The middle one and youngest have been afraid of going into the ocean, but on this day, Little Javi decided to work up the courage to get his feet wet this time. It always take him a while to warm up to anything and the was no exception… it was almost time to leave as they were getting hungry and Dusty said all of a sudden, Javi started testing the water and the waves. I will let the layout tell you the rest of the Beach Day visit.

Xander was on my back porch watching the lizard crawling around but he wouldn’t get close enough to get the perfect pic, so I did the next best thing, I photoshoped it! At least that is what my kids say, well “MOM can just Photoshop if in or out!.

Well it is Sept 1 already and I can’t believe how fast the year is going by. I wanted to share a few things that are going on at Scrap That Idea this month.

And a layout I did with it… but a little journal about what the pictures were picked for and why.
Although the pictures aren't all that great, my brother's visit this summer was great to have the little guys meet each other for the first time. Kai, Kou and Ken were born and raised in Okinawa, Japan. My grandson's Javi and Xander had no problem playing in the backyard together and had a lot of fun. From the ages of 2 years to 8 years....all knew ROCK, PAPER, SCISSORS to see who was IT for their game of tag.

I also did a layout with one of Stacey’s new kits. What a cute kit for all the little or big cowboys in your life.

Here is a layout I did with Yee Haw….great for the pic I had of my grandson, Xander with a cowboy hat his Grandma Eldona got him, though it was too small for him but had fun with it.

Now I am not sure I posted Vicki’s kit on my blog as I did on facebook, so I will share it with you here. It was really fun to work with and was made as one of A Work In Progress CT Appreciation kit she made for Sara.

And the layout I did with this one…. I have to share with you that I was more excited about meeting Rafiki than my grandsons were. My kids laughed at me as my expression was as I touched him for the first time was, “WOW, I feel his breath this close and personal!” The pics were taken at our local Brevard Zoo.

Charlie, Denise and LouCee have some new stuff I would like to share with you too but I need to finish up a layout and gather up their new things they have in their store at Digiridoo Scraps. A Gift for Baby Girl!

Good morning Scrapland…. I wanted to make a quick post this morning as I finished a quilting project I have been working the past few weeks. This is one of the reasons I haven’t been scrapping as much. Sorry gals that I am behind in my CT work. Promise to get caught up over the weekend and show off your new releases.

As you know Linda aka Bon Scrapatit Designs had a wonderful trip to visit her daughter and to be with her as her new granddaughter was born. Well as soon as I saw the nursery deco, I wanted to make her a special something for Baby Girls arrival, but my real life got in the way but I didn’t give up… I finished her baby quilt last night and wanted to share it with you.

I did do some scrapping last weekend and did this one with one of Linda’s blog train called “Heartfully Yours” Of my self, daughter and granddaughter. Congrads and Best Wish to my BFF and her daughter on her first granddaughter.

Summer Fun!

Hi everyone,

So I hope this finds everyone having a fun weekend in store for you. I have going to be doing some catch up around the house and cleaning up my hard drives. I need to get back into the designing mode. In about 30 days is my Blogoversary and I was thinking of doing a Freebie for you. It has been a while and I have had a few ideas rolling about in my head.

As I did some blog hoping today, I found a very dear friend of mine who has gave her blog a NEW LOOK, that reminded me of a layout I did with one of her freebie from the Blog Train last month. Bon Scrapatit Designs aka Linda… So you will have to stop by and check her out! Sharing some new stuff and a Hybrid

Good Morning Scrapland, I hope you had a wonderful weekend everyone and Good Luck to all you mom’s that your children are starting school today! (most all of Florida is starting today). Enjoy your day both MOMS and Kids!

Next I have hybrid project I worked on this weekend with Stacey’s Z is for ZOO kit. It was a kit she released a while ago and I just had to have it for this project, things got busy and I never got to the project, until this weekend and wanted something different to do. I used a hybrid template I found at Scrap Orchard by Pixel Geek. I plan to laminate the index cards so that the kids can look at them and they will last a little longer.

So Pretty Posting Bonus by A Work In Progress

I did this one with a posting bonus Vicki did for a challenge she did a couple of weeks ago. I was out of town and didn’t get mine done in time for her, but wanted to share with you. I had done this with a picture of me as the challenge was to scrap your self, but since I missed the challenge, I changed the photo to one with my daughters. Thank you, Vicki for the great mini kit.

New Releases from Loucee’s Creations at DSO

OK, I have two kits to share with you from Loucee’s Creations and a new CU product she has in her store at DigiScrap Obsessions. I really enjoy working with Locee’s kit as they are so different and always full of beautiful and elegant. She has a very unique style and a wonderful eye for making a very lovely previews that really draw you in.

First I will start with a kit that was released last week as I was away….

And the second one is Called Moon Shadow that was released this past Friday. I have to tell you that this is my brother who just visited us from Okinawa and one of his hobbies is play the Ukulele and sing for fun, with his youngest son, Ken Johnston, who fell a sleep in the restaurant we took them to before they left the following day. I used one of Denise’s Photo Masks she has in her bundle kit call My Dads Kawl (DigiDesigns by Denise).

What’s Happening with DigiDesigns by Denise

Good evening, everyone in Scrapland… I am sitting here realizing that I have just a few thing left to prepare for my brother who is coming for a visit from Okinawa for a visit. So I thought I would get this posted and work on a little goody for you. I will be posting something from Loucee’s in the morning, but here is a bright and cheery kit Stacey released! It was released today in her store a Scrap That Idea!

These pictures were taken on the trip I took with my sister to GA, The girls were so good even though it was hot and a very long day. We had to get to the graduation 3 hours before it started.the layout I had sent to Stacey to post had the photos totally black and white, but I had to add a little pic. Anyway….Amber and I got back from GA, she had a few day’s left of school, then she drove with the girls to Missouri to visit my parents and had been there for three weeks. OUR GIRLS came home! Daddy was SOOOO happy.

Happy Trails and CU New Arrival

Good Morning, I hope this finds everyone having a great week after our long holiday weekend (here in the USA) and of course a wonderful week for everyone else too!
I want to say “SAFE TRAVELS to my BFF”! Linda aka Bon Scrapatit is on her way to visit her daughter Joan and her long awaited new granddaughter, BABY GIRL! She is sporting her new cell phone that has all the bells and whistles so that she can keep up with what is going on in scrapaland and the rest of the world. te heee! She also has a goodies to share with you, check it out. She made this baby announcement and shower invitation for Joan and BABY GIRL’s baby shower. PLEASE be SAFE, Linda and keep us updated.
