As I expected the information I obtained was invaluable. Particularly all of the services offered by the city of Hampton for start-up businesses (advertising, market research, etc). Since these services are offered by state agencies my state taxes pay for many of them.

The Virginia Department of Business Assistance facilitated the meeting. The attendees where made up mostly of 75% women which wasn't surprising because I read somewhere that women make up the largest entrepreneurial / small business demographic.

Virginia puts forth an effort to assist Small Women and Minority owned businesses (SWaM). SWaM offers state contract work set aside specifically for small businesses which can be a big help since the majority of start-ups fail within the first 5 years.

The old adage "you have to spend money to make money" holds true depending on the type of business you start. You may very well need a substantial amount of overhead to run your shop. Fortunately an Internet Home Based Business does not require much overhead but it does require time. That being said, I just vegged out during the Bankers presentation.

I must say I felt rather good about the fact that my business doesn't require a store front, physical inventory, etc. However, I do have fixed technology costs like software and computer equipment. My other expenses are for hosting and domain name registration which if you are familiar with these costs you know they are cheaper than a monthly cellphone bill.

I recently became a registered Notary with the state which I'll be specializing in loan closings (known as a Notary Signing Agent). This should become a very lucrative market that will allow me to offset any Internet Home Based Business expenses. I had to buy another printer, fax machine, notary stamps, notary license, background check and errors and omissions insurance. All total the notary expenses cost me $200. I made half of that back in the first week.

I'm still plugging away at TortoiseHareMedia.com but its not easy setting up a website specializing in:

Web design

Web development

Web hosting

Domain name registration

Branding (Logo design, letterhead, business cards, brochures)

Internet marketing

Since I'm transitioning into a content search engine optimization guru TortoiseHareMedia.com will offer these products while simultaneously being keyword optimized. So...yeah writing the content is the most time consuming part of finishing the site.

Anyway, I hope your enjoying your evening as I am. I'm going to watch a movie with my wife.

Best regards,
Will

noreply@blogger.com (Chester. I want this information to be an awakening from the hypnotic trance that has kept you moving in multiple directions with unsuccessful results.

...but first I have a few questions for you.

Why is it so hard for you to turn a profit with your current Internet home based business?

How many different digital products or multilevel marketing services have you signed up for?

How many times have you forked over your cash for something where you didn't fully understand the process but hoped it would give you big results?

How about all of the "fool Google" tactics that promise to get your website to the top of the search engine results for your product or service?

Most times, when you have a strategy in place that will drive more traffic to your website and turn visitors into buyers you run across something else that persuades you to change direction.

The aforementioned is a direct result of Internet home based business overload.

"When you have a strategy in place stick with it for at least 9-12 months before tweaking it."

You're looking for a way to make your Internet home based business drive money to your bank account. Or maybe you want to make enough money to pay your mortgage or car note so you'll have more money to save.

You've seen Internet Millionaire's in multiple markets boasting how they easily make hundreds of thousands of dollars while they sleep. How do they do it?

...oh wait, they sell you their e-book.

How can you be sure that your Internet home based business will prevail as did your Millionaire counterpart's? ...well lets see, were the multiple testimonials as to how their Internet Home based business plan made other people money enough to convince you? Whether your selling baby clothes or books, your customer's testimonials help your prospective customers trust you.

Depending on how reputable the testimonials are, skeptics like you and I will always needed more convincing. Depending on the price of the product or service the convincing could total up to thousands of words filled with guarantees, bonus offers, and even more testimonials.

The higher the price of the product the more convincing is needed to get someone to buy it. That being said, your sales page is the key component to success.

...ok, here it goes.

I'll sum it up for you in 3 easy steps:

In order to turn your visitors into buyers first you need to catch their attention by appealing to their problem.

Next, tell them how your product works (bullet points) and how it will resolve their problem. Also in this step you need to show how your product or service has worked for others (testimonials).

Then, let them know how much it will cost. Don't forget to add no cost bonuses because we all like to get as many related products and services as possible for our dollar. Here you also have the opportunity to earn their trust with a money back guarantee that is much longer than your competition's.

Although simplified from my previous 6 step approach, these are the steps to creating a sales page that will lead to your online success. I suggest you practice and use these steps in all of your sales correspondence.

Additionally, you can also build an opt-in email list and use these 3 steps to create your email letters too. As a matter of fact, you should have an email list built into your sales page right now! This allows you to sell related products and services to current customers while your sales page is working to obtain new customers.

Best regards,
Will

noreply@blogger.com (Chester. Making a killing with Adsense also takes research. Let's face it, you can have a site with thousands of content rich pages but if that content is of no interest to anyone online then your website traffic will reflect that. Don't set your goals too high in a low to no traffic market.

Patience is an helpful attribute to have but it is contingent upon other traits that are already in place like consistency and dedication. If your consistently researching, promoting and adding the best possible content to your website then and only then will patience be relevant to your earnings. Search engines and RSS feeds like new content and so do visitors. Your market may not show up the first, second or third time they see your ad, link or post but the more they see it more than likely they will click on it.

Once your market knows you're committed to giving them the best most relevant information possible they will show up, bookmark your site, tell their friends and ultimately click on some of the relevant ads on your website.

You will have to continue to add new content to your website and appropriately place your keywords throughout in order for Google Adsense to know exactly what your webpage is about. Without this basic step you will fail to receive relevant ads on your webpages.

With search engine optimization being the focal point of Adsense it is hard to ignore the fact that you need to use every management tool Google has to offer.

If you ask 10 different marketers how much and how often you should add new content to your website you will get 6 varying answers but on average the answer will be once a week. Tests have shown that adding content to your website daily(not your blog)has in some cases gotten websites removed from the Google index. Unfortunately an algorithm makes this decision and you can appeal it. I add new content twice a week and I've not been removed from any index. If search engines aren't your main traffic generator you need not worry.

Before you start an Adsense marketing campaign be sure to have a solid plan with realistic expectations. Second is to have your HTML Meta Tags in order. Third, is to have tons of relevant content. Ok, maybe that's not everything but that is a great start. Another strategy that is widely used but not always mentioned is using Adwords to drive traffic to your "optimized" content rich Adsense pages.

Its true that you can't force someone to click on an ad on your Adsense page but your chances are much better if you can drive them to your page.

Believe it or not, the best Adwords Guide is provided for free by Google because when you do well they do better. The only thing Google doesn't do mush of is showing you strategy, but that's okay because your learning that now. You have to watch your Adwords Money to ensure that you aren't draining your budget without seeing profits.

Your Google Adsense Adwords ads (as I like to call them) need to be relevant to the content on your page. Once you have found a profitable market, followed my instructions for writing effective ads, you need to strategically place adsense text ads in and around the content of your webpages, continue to build on the content of your website, and closely monitor your budget (I call this Adwords Management).

Since you can't squeeze blood from a turnip you must first ensuring your in a traffic generating market by using the Google Adwords Keyword Tool. Once you've obtained a targeted amount of keywords use the traffic estimator tool to see how many clicks you can expect to receive. I suggest bidding no more than .05 per click (CPC) and no more than $1.00 a day. This way you can see if the clicks you get turn into Adsense earnings.

If your Adwords Marketing efforts are getting clicks but no one is clicking on the Adsense ads then you want to ensure your content is worth reading; if your ad says one thing and the content on your page says another the visitor will not stay. You should also try different ads and ad placement. Internet Marketing on a whole requires split testing to see how your market responds best.

This strategy can also be used to send traffic to your sales page, squeeze page or landing page.

Best regards
Will

noreply@blogger.com (Chester. This was my response to them.

As you know your layout can be the best looking but if your content (sometimes
called ad-copy) isn't up to par then you have wasted your time
getting your market to your website because they will soon click
away.

Remember, you have up to 3 seconds to attract the
attention of a visitor to your website. I wanted to give you a few
tip and examples that will keep your readers engaged in your dialog.
Some of this I have touched on in previous emails now I'd like to
walk you through the psychology of prospects.

On your professional looking Capture Page you want
to write like your having a conversation with the reader you do not
want them to feel like they are reading from an encyclopedia:

Introduce yourself. Talk about how you got
into the business your marketing and what makes you authority in
the field (how long have you been in the field). This give the reader
a human connection with someone they can't see. You can split test
using capture pages with pictures and capture pages without pictures
you can also test the types of pictures (professional or laid back).

Transition into the emotion behind why you had
to come up with a product or service.

People will buy or signup to something based on emotion. Emotion
can cover a wide range of feeling's such as:

Desire

Greed

Envy

Love

Frustration

Anger

Sadness

Example: "After working a dead end job for 21 years I was laid off with a dwindling savings account, 3 kids, 1 on the way and no other sources of income so I had no choice
but to..." Many people can relate to that story and since people
love a story your will have them hooked there by overcoming the "
3 second attract their attention rule".

Logic: After you get the reader emotionally
charged up you must bring them back down to the reality of why signing
up or purchasing your product is the right decision to make.
If you fail this step you won't receive any purchases or
signups. You have to explain the logic behind why your
product out performs your competition.

Bullet points

Facts & figures

Guarantees

Comparisons

Testimonials

When your justifying why your product is the best
it is better to use analogies rather than simply stating the fact.

Example: Instead of Gieco saying their
product is "simple and easy to follow"; they say its "so
easy a Cave Man could do it!"

Make it worth their while... Being an Online
Entrepreneur you have an advantage over most big businesses. You can
give more free bonuses to entice your market. Now lets be clear, your
free bonus has to be something worthwhile. If word gets out that your
giving away junk your purchases and signups will drop off before they
start. MAKE SURE YOUR GIVEAWAY IS A QUALITY PRODUCT RELEVANT TO YOUR MARKET.

You have to stress urgency.

Limited offer.

2 copies left.

free trial period ends...

The price goes up to ___ after...

DELIVER ON YOUR PROMISES FROM #3. Your in business
for longevity, There is no better Marketing than "word of mouth".
If you make promises and deliver it will get around that your product,
service and support is high quality and you will start to see a steadier
flow of traffic to your website. On the flip side, if you make promises
you can't keep then... well, you know.

Its not difficult to draft a Capture Page. I like to
type mine in a program called NoteTab and then transfer it to my capture
page, then start formating it (colors, font size, quotes, Johnson boxes,
etc), then replace certain words with KEYWORDS obtained from GOOGLE'S
KEYWORD SEARCH TOOL that are relevant to my market. Then I add my Meta
TAGS, Title, description, etc.

Then I put my autoresponder signup box
on the page, PROOF READ IT!, publish it to the web read it and sign up
myself to test the autoresponder. Then I like to use Google PPC to get
quick traffic to the page to see if my content is what it should be.

You may have to let someone else read it (I do this also).
I suggest you tell one of your smartest friends or family members the
objective of the page before letting them read it. Then ask them to read
it then see if it conveniences them to signup or buy. If not
ask them where on the page did they lose interest, then correct and repeat.
You may want to switch proof readers just to get a fresh pair of eyes on it.
It would be even better to have someone in the market read it.

Once you've done it a few times you will be able to pump
out Capture page content with little to no effort. If you can write an
enticing capture page your online profits will only be limited to how many
websites and products in different markets you can effectively
service and support.

Best regards,
Will

noreply@blogger.com (Chester. Don't waste time trying to create a market when you can market to one that already exists. Google Adwords Keyword tool costs nothing and out performs any tool on the market.

The key mistake made by most unsuccessful marketers is the lack of, abuse of or improper use of keywords in their articles, Pay Per Click (PPC) campaigns and on their landingpage. If the keywords in your PPC campaigns, do not rank well, don't match your product, and are not relevant to your landing page you may end up with less than successful marketing results.

Keywords: words and or phrases that search engines record when users do a search. The more a keyword or phrase has been searched on is the first indication of its quality.

It's important that you understand the value and how to properly use keywords and phrases in marketing and how it relates to not only finding a market but also products relevant to that market.

There are hundreds maybe thousands of products on the market that claim to give you the best keyword and keyword phrases in any market.

Please create a Google account if you already have not.

Since 80% of the worlds Keyword Traffic goes through Google it's a no brainer to use the Google keyword suggestion tool. (and it costs nothing!)

Go to: [https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal].

Select "descriptive words or phrases" on the left,

check "use synonyms" in the center,

type the word "stress" in the box above,

type in the correct security letters,

click "Get keyword ideas".

"Approximate search volume" shows how many times your keyword or phrase was searched on for the previous month. This information sometimes runs in line with the "Approximate average search volume" which shows the searches for the last 12 months. "Advertiser competition" means just that, how many websites are using these keywords or phrases.

It's not uncommon to find a keyword or phrase with high search volume and low competition. Finding these types of keywords can be the start to a Successful Marketing campaign. On the other hand, if done correctly you can successfully compete using a highly competitive list of keywords.

To view how Google rates your competition, go to: Google.com and type "stress" in the Google search bar. At the time I wrote this article www.stress.org was second in the list of websites competing for the keyword "stress". The PPC ads under the "sponsored links" section on the right (PPC) shows you what stress related products others are offering to this market (this is a second indication of a quality keyword). Go back to the Google Keyword Tool and select "website content" on the left and place [http://www.stress.org] in the appropriate field then select "Get keyword ideas".

This shows you the "Keywords related to stress..." within the website Stress.org. The keywords are abundant and cover many of the topics related to stress which is why Google places this site in the top of its search engine ranking for the keyword "stress".

Looking at this information gives you an idea of:

how to structure your website using similar keywords and phrases.

The high keyword phrases such as "stress management" gives you ideas on marketing campaigns.

Article content for articles to post on Ezines.

Landing page content.

ebook subjects.

PPC keyword phrases to use.

Blog content

If you’re using PPC ads to get signups to your email list then using Keywords in your ads that are related to your market are top priority. For example: If your Landing Page is promoting stress reduction techniques (among other keywords related to stress); you PPC ad could read:

Learn Stress Reduction
Practical techniques that promote
Stress Reduction, No Cost Report.

You already know that stress reduction is a favorably searched on keyword phrase. It is obvious that those who click on your ad will only be interested in reducing stress. This is how you create Targeted Op-in Email List of subscribers. You can do the same thing with articles you write and submit to ezines.

I've just given you a grass roots Internet Marketing strategy that will allow you to find profitable markets. This is not the "end all be all" but it is a solid foundation which allows you to grasp how some of the top online marketers create opt in email lists with thousands of subscribers, make a decision on what to market and how to create an Internet Marketing Product for their market. If your interested in building a responsive opt in email list for a limited time I am offering my report ($97.00 VALUE) at no cost.

Best regards,

noreply@blogger.com (Chester. He has made it to the charts as an example of what not to do. Jeremy was quoted in 2005 telling the courts "I can gurantee to the court that I will not be involved in the email marketing business again". Jeremy's net worth from spam is suspected to be $24 million. Prosecutors were able to show that he received 10,000credit card orders ($40 per order)in one month. Personally I don't pay much attention to spamming and the anti spam law. But when I picked up my news paper yesterday and read the small article I had to blog it. I make every attempt not to want more money so bad that I succome to the "dark side".

It had been reported that Mr. Jaynes made upwards of $750k per month on what was quoted as a less than safisticated network of operations which made it easy for the cybercrime police to find him. More sophisticated spammers use viruses that route their traffic through unsuspecting computers all over the world. On the other hand, it was almost impossible for victums of Jeremys' emails to track him down. Using untracable routing information and false company names a victum could chalk it up as a lose. Mr. Jaynes solicited everything from porn, penny stocks, work at home businesses that promised payouts, FedEx refund processors and other scams.

I have not found much on what the IRS has to say about what their cut of Mr. Jaynes' earnings should be. Its been said that the IRS is understaffed but when your high profile all it takes is for someone to give you're earnings special attention.

Back in 2004 Jeremy origionally received a 9 year prison sentence but it was overturned in 2008 because the procecution didn't prove that all specifics of the law were violated. The defense argued for one that the sentence was too severe and that the charges violated his first amendment right. Basically, because the law is broad the appelet court overturned the origional sentence. More than likely the procecution will bring him up on lessor more specific charges under the law. Jeremy will more than likely be banned from any online advertising but I wonder how it would be enforced?

The world is full of people that want to get rich quick. What these people do not realize is that they make other people get quick riches because they are willing to pull out their credit cards for snake oil advertisments. Also, when your promised riches for only $40 some may not see it as a big lose. I don't want to sound like I'm blamming the victum who although not criminally responsible they must take on some of the blame.

Be careful out their people.

noreply@blogger.com (Chester. Although I have only a few sites drawing a small amount of dollars a day I was still worried the other day when my websites were unreachable and Google noticed right away and removed all stats associated to my web sites.

Although I will start to become less dependent on search engine traffic and diversify to social markets I don't want any red flags going off for any reason with the search engines. Keeping consitant and growing my online business portfolio is hard enough without having to worry about website downtime. Visitors who get a "page cannot be displayed" error from one of your URL's may be turned off by what you have to offer; heck, they won't get to see it.

noreply@blogger.com (Chester. What I've found is that when you do not follow the steps of those who have had success before you it widens your learning curve. Granted, certain successful strategies do not work as well as they use to but in most cases the foundation remains the same.

If you have several ideas to diversify your online marketing that will satisfy the core goals of your business implementation can be overwhelming. Internet marketing strategies that cover multiple websites with different subject matter need to promote professionalism, dedication and contain content worth reading. Furthermore, to leverage multiple arenas such as

social,

network,

article marketing,

give away products,

forums,

membership sites,

email lists,

search engine marketing,

affiliate marketing

…you need help. Having a forward thinking mindset is a positive starting point to achieving online business success. The next challenge can be making a working business plan out of the ideas you have written down. Your business plan should always contain achievable milestones. The most discouraging part (besides small failures) of an online business is the time it takes to generate a substantial profit.

Generating a substantial profit online is directly related to the type of business and the market for that business (not because, "there is no money to be made online"). Some of you are passionate about something that has a very small market therefore; your profits will come slowly.

A "small market" should not to be confused with a Niche; a Niche is a small part of a larger market that the big companies or suppliers have neglected to supply. There are plenty of "one hit wonder" type of websites that generate good advertising revenue for a while then start to taper off as its market becomes saturated and/or the website fails to add new original content and offers. Don't be a one hit wonder unless that is in your plan. You can:

find a Niche,

make a low cost report(15-25 pages),

create a smashing landing/squeeze page,

sign up for search engine marketing accounts

ensure your ads are directly related to your landing page.

You can also apply this to large broader websites that also take advantage small segments within a broader market.

Of course if you do this and still can not generate a profit you may have to:

do more research on your market,

change your content,

change your headings

test up to 3 different landing pages and ads.

In fact most successful Internet Marketers start off split testing to ensure they achieve the highest conversions possible.

As I am finishing up my "give away report", building my email list, and starting to create a paid ebook with audio and video instructions I intend to get involved in Joint Ventures with my peers in the same or similar market. You too should partake in Joint Ventures after you have determined who your target market is, if they purchase and have good things to say about your product. When offering a joint venture it is best to have some prewritten content for your affiliates to use for their email lists and websites.

Although failure is an unavoidable occurrence, success is planned and much sweeter after you have failed a few times. Your achievable milestones become part of your success. It would be nice to have every success be exclusive to making a profit but it is not. Success can be in the form of finishing your first report, ebook, eCommerce training, getting your site up and running, your first few visitors, blog comments, conversiones, etc. Having numerous small successes will build your confidence to move ahead with your difficult online business decisions.

noreply@blogger.com (Chester. First off, having multiple websites can be an administrative nightmare. Not only do you have to:

check email

reply to email

keyword research

create content

add new content for your website

create content for your email campaign

send out emails to your email list

upload ad placement code to new pages on your website and blog

affiliate product

optimize ads

update site maps

update rss feeds

back link strategy (posts to forums, blogs, etc)

article directory submission

search engine directory submission

At some point you will have to test different page elements, ads, layouts, content, etc to see which performs better, then change your other campaigns to match it.

All of this will need to be done at least once a week. But, you need to check and respond to email every two days.

Whew....

Once you have done this for a while one of five things will happen (or all five):

your websites updates will slowly start to "fall by the wayside”

email questions don’t get answered in a timely fashion

email lists start to opt-out

you will go mad

you will outsource

Number 5 isn't bad; actually, outsourcing can be your way to effectively grow your business. Lets face it, it takes time to be successful online (far less time than it does in most other industries).

Having “too much on your plate” can overshadow your creativity.

So turn off the TV, turn the Jazz and start researching keywords as a foundation for your next killer web site and/or Blog.

Some people don't feel that Internet Businesses are worth the time and the mental workout you get from analyzing enormous amounts of data. That being said, what most don't realize is that even with all of the above responsibilities you still work far less and have the potential to make more money than you would have ever seen if you'd been going from job to job and waiting on a pay raise.

Until next time

Will

p.s. Sometimes you can find an excellent niche, write a how-to ebook, create an awesome landing/sales page, start an Adwords campaign and drive targeted traffic to your sales page. This method can draw you an amazing amount of daily income. This is slightly harder than it sounds.

p.s.s. Life deals us a great deal of responsibility but you have to realize when to ask for help (and that all help is not free but still worth paying for).

:-)

noreply@blogger.com (Chester. Is it possible to start an Internet Business with no money?

Yes.

I did it, but I'll be the first but not the last to tell you that I would have saved a bunch of time and heartache if I'd had some cash to hire someone who knows how to achieve and launch successful marketing/sales campaigns.

In other words, If I could have paid someone to do all the tedious/grunt work I'd be further along in my Internet Marketing than I am now. Oh, well.

Don't get me wrong, I've learned a lot about marketing strategy, some of what it takes to be successful at Google Adwords, Email marketing, list building, keyword research and article marketing.

There are some other tid bits I've picked up along my year and two month Internet marketing experience but it's late and I can't remember everything at the moment.

One important fact that I've learned is that optimizing your website is a compilation of factors that work together to build website popularity in your market. Some people think if they generate tons of backlinks they will start receiving enormous amounts of traffic.

Quality Backlinks are great to have but are not the overall determining factor in website optimization. The most important skills for an aspiring Internet entrepreneur to have would be:

determination

perseverance

drive

pride

organization

analytical skills

With these 6 skills the rest will fall into place like devoting a substantial amount of time to your business. Learning from and moving past failure. Taking challenges head on. Ensuring you are offering your market something of value. Keeping everything related to your business organized such as files, folders, etc. Last but not least knowing how to determine where there are opportunities for improvement and capital gain in the long and short run.

Let this marinate and I'll talk to you soon,
Will C.

noreply@blogger.com (Chester. While trying to optimize my current websites I'm constantly using my keyword research tool from Nichebot.com to come up with content that is in demand with the search engines. Simultaneously I'm:

writing articles,

submitting articles to over 400 article directories,

updating my websites (weekly) with advertising content & articles,

organizing my website ad content,

searching for relevant affiliate products,

posting to forums and blogs

looking for Niches that I can create a website and an ebook to sell

working on my email marketing strategy

I'm sure there are other things I'm doing to grow my Internet Marketing Business but these are the top dogs right now. I must admit Internet Marketing can be overwhelming at times but when it takes a toll on me I find relief in sharing what part of it drains me the most. I'm looking forward to the day when I can pay someone to do the grunt work while I come up with the strategies.

noreply@blogger.com (Chester. Next I think we will see audio ads with no video which may work well for the site impaired. As Marketers we ask the question "what are people looking for that they can not get anywhere?" and if we can find the answer we can create wealth.

I think I was one of the first individuals to add a Adsense Video Unit to my website and Blog. The reason I say this is because I was Using Google Adsense just 12 hours before adding the Video Unit and it was not an option.

You can tell Adsense Video Units are in an infant state because of the limited options. The Videos seem to get the interest of visitors to my sites but I think it has more to do with the "newness" of it. When I viewed one of the Video Ad Units it appeared to be show where different people answered online generated computing questions.

The Video is from YouTube [of course] and the ads are placed in the header and footer of the Video Ad Unit window. Your allowed to select different videos at anytime, pause, stop, play, and volume controls are available. I don't believe the video its self is an ad, only an enticement. In my case the video had little to do with the Ads but it was going in the right direction.

I'm sure we all realize Google is working hard to get more videos that are directly related to their ads. We [Internet Marketers] may be able to help provide more Videos.

Don't be surprised if you start seeing more ebooks that outline a recipe to dominate online video advertising worldwide. Although video is not new to television; with Google's purchase of YouTube we know video has a potential to reach those people where other advertising avenues have fallen short.

I have blue printed various video ads and have come up with a few ideas that will turn into a very profitable marketing technique...

Until next time
Will C.

Watch the latest videos on YouTube.com

noreply@blogger.com (Chester. I use to believe all you had to do to get people (who visit your website) to give you their email address was ask for it.

Well not exactly, I used what I saw online as my basis for an opt-in email campaign. This consisted of a autoresponder working in the background and some ad copy that simply said "Sign up for our Newsletter..."; sound familiar? But, I had no idea that a landing page/squeeze page was the better option for email opt-in enticement. In fact I always found sqeeze pages to be annoying.

If I landed on an opt-in landing page I always thought "I haven't determined whether I like the info on the website so why would I give you my email address?".

I am in the process of creating a landing page with an book and cd ecover that has some small but enticing ad copy. Those that sign up will get a downloadable step by step website implementation and marketing Audio/Video at no cost. The Audio/Video can be shared but not altered. Depending on how large I make the "give-away", I may also sell the PLR rights. None of this is new to seasoned marketers but I can almost gurantee if I'm just learning it, some of you are too.

I've been article marketing over the last 4 months in order to generate backlinks and targeted traffic. As I begin to see traffic I was like COOL! But I began to think gosh I, "what do I want to do with the traffic now that I'm getting it????

As I've stated before (or maybe I haven't), you only get better at Internet Marketing through constant research and testing.

Research: finding out new ways to promote your online business.
Testing: launching multiple marketing strategies and testing their performance against each other.

I will create 3 different landing pages (with different copy) and go with the one that performs better after a certain period of time.

Building a list takes time and building a targeted list takes creativity and proven tactics. Marketing to an email list (once you get one) does not mean to market or sale in every email you send. You also need to continue to give your list something of value at no cost. Lastly, always look for ways to increase the list or build new targeted lists.

I realize this only scratches the surface of email marketing but I'm going in the right direction.

Are you?

Also, are you consistently adding fresh content to your website?

Talk to you soon,
Will C.

noreply@blogger.com (Chester. Elance Inc created Elance.com a service marketplace where service providers promote their business through the work they have done for other buyers.

In 2004 Elance launched their sales and marketing category in order to fill the demand for the growing advertising marketing, public relations and lead generation requests. Using Elance promo code NYP1 providers who signed up were able to receive a 40% membership discount. This attracted an influx of service providers who had unlimited access to thousands of entrepreneurs and small businesses that needed services for:

1. Website development
2. Graphic Design and Art
3. Writing and Translation
4. Sales and Marketing
5. Management and Finance
6. Audio, Video and Multimedia
7. Administrative Support
8. Software and Technology

Using the 40% discount Elance promo code as an enticement Elance was able to draw in more service providers for its growing buyers market.

Provider: the individual providing the work requested.
Buyer: the individual requesting work to be done.

Elance can work for you whether you are a buyer or a provider. Internet marketers need time to research their website content to determine its value online. After an Internet Marketer finds a strategie it takes time to compile, proof and implement. an Elance service provider can save you valuable time in the compiling, proofing and even marketing areas. Forums, articles, videos, give-aways, how-to’s, member sites, audios’, etc are all part of a dominating mix of marketing tools.

Oh, I forgot to mention the Blog. I like to think of a Blog for what it is, a Web Log or journal.

I use to feel like a Blog would be too much to maintain. Having never had a Diary or a Journal as a child or adult I didn’t realize how easy it was to write about what you do on a day to day basis.

At the moment I spend 5 or more days a week building my Internet Marketing Empire so I have a lot to talk about. Everything in Internet Marketing doesn’t go smoothly and those things make for a great read.

So if you are getting your Internet Hustle on (no matter the capacity) put your day to day grind in a Blog, keep it relevant to one of your websites and link to it.

A Blog can create a flood of Online Interest in your business. Although your Blog posts may be about how you run your shop you can still use keyword strategies and even post to Ezines.

I have to admit I set this Blog up earlier this year, posted a couple of things then started a new marketing strategy and let my Blog collect dust.

I have realized my mistake in not regularly building my Blog but then again I’m a very busy man. My family will not allow me to let Internet Marketing consume me.

My advise to anyone contemplating building a blog but wants to do it “right the first time”, would be to start it and shape it as you go.

But…

If your blogging for advertising dollars, Plan to Build a Blog that has relevant topics.

noreply@blogger.com (Chester. Data Entry Clerk is a home based business that can be added to many forms of computing and or typing. For instance, Google Adwords data entry jobs have been popping up online.

While searching for a Data Entry Clerk Job I immediately noticed that a company had created a program that basically allowed users to enter ad campaigns for advertising on Google. Most would call this Internet Marketing but since you’re "entering data" it has been transformed into something else for those unfamiliar with online businesses. This is not a scam but an ingenious way to earn extra income advertising products with a high conversion rate.

The only drawback is that your ads have to attract targeted traffic. The link you send your traffic to must to cater to their need which in most cases is enticing them to buy. If you do not have the experience with these two steps then get it before you waste your time and money.

Other Data Entry Clerk Jobs are paid based on how much work you finish accurately. Records Keeping also known as Book Keeping are data entry positions that are often outsourced. What this means for you is that you can take advantage of as many positions that you can handle. Remember; accuracy and the amount of work you finish are key.

When you subscribe too or purchase a data entry course make sure you thoroughly read and complete the materials before publicly commenting on its claims. Some people do not devote the quality time necessary to achieve successful results (follow the instructions) and they immediately cry “scam”.

Proofreading is also considered a data entry job although you may not have to enter much data. Most people, me included write numerous articles but do not own any proofreading software so we depend on the human element to check our punctuation.

Becoming a part-time Data Entry Clerk can end up a full-time experience if done and promoted correctly. Once you have built a solid foundation of profitable positions you can solicit others who are interested in similar money earning online home based businesses.

noreply@blogger.com (Chester. The funny thing about investing YOUR MONEY in your business is that; well it’s "your money". Heck, I'm no spring chicken and I need to get my business moving. So I have decided that in order to free up time to create another stream of income I need to outsource.

I’ve always wanted to build a large email list of people interested in online business and the many components it takes to build it into a successful empire. To achieve the email addresses of any semi-targeted market you need to offer something only that market would be interested in and offer it at no charge.

Yes…give it away!

So, I outlined a 35+ page report and requested bids on compiling it into a PDF. Along with the PDF I will be an audio/video for those who respond well to visuals. I will convert my home page into a landing page for people to opt into my email list. Those who receive the PDF can share it as long as the Reprint Guidlines are followed.

I will have a cool book and CD e-cover created; get a professional photo and some irresistable but short copy and viola the email signups should start to roll in.

Well not exactly…

To continue generating traffic to my homepage/landing page/squeeze page I will continue to submit articles to over 400 article directories at least once a week (with my link attached). I will also continue to add no more than 2 articles to my websites at least once a week.

Opt in email newsletters should offer something of value for the first 3 weeks with no more than 3 emails per week [and maybe a broadcast]. I will build a trusting relationship with my list and hopefully they will look forward to hearing from me. Occationally I will offer my products for sale and affiliate products that I have purchased and successfully used.

With all the responsibilities I have, adding articles to my website has fallen by the wayside for the last two weeks and I feel terrible about it :-(. In my defence, I have been doing a large amount of Keyword and Keyword Phrase research to ensure that the articles I put out are worth putting out.

Until next time…

Buenos dias
K.M.

noreply@blogger.com (Chester. Particularly those websites that are in the top 1-10 in the search engine ranking for the phrase "Work at home business, Internet home based business and the like".

What I've found is that most are discussing the same thing which happens to be what types of at home business opportunities are available.

Data entry

Paid Surveys

Affiliate Marketing

Google Adwords

Google Adsence

Online Auctions

MLM

Internet Marketing

Most of these business opportunities are great depending on your current lifestyle and how much time you have to devote to thoroughly researching the opportunity. One thing to consider is that there are plenty of scams out there. Like brick and mortar businesses some online business opportunities run well and some do not, some are out right scams and others may only have a deficiency in their service, support or the information they provide. Either way where you start your research is the most important job in the process.

Learning how Websites market their business and how they get visitors to do what they want.

"How they get visitors to do what they want" simply means: if you are selling something how do you attract people to purchase your product?

Search Engine Optimization has changed. Google, Yahoo, MSN and others continue to tailor there Search Engines to ensure websites have useful and relevant content.

History supports the fact that webmasters could once create a website based on a highly searched keyword or phrase, use that phrase multiple times in the site content (keyword density) and their site would get top ranking in Search Engines.

For instance, if you typed in the word "travel abroad" in Google the top site may have a bunch of useless content but you notice that "travel abroad" appears multiple times throughout the page. Now you may not find any useful info on said website but there may be a Google link to another site with "travel abroad" info that you click on...

Stop... When you click on that link, the company that owns that site gets charged an advertising fee from Google and the creator of the "garbage content" site gets a portion of the fee the "great content" site paid Google (Paid Per Click). Unfortunately Google has started to frown on "garbage content" sites by deindexing them (not listing them in their search engine results).

Much of what is behind a site getting deindexed is automated there is know one sitting down manually monitoring website content.

Search engines us an algorithm: a process programmed to perform functions based off the data it collects. The algorithm uses bots or sometimes called crawlers, web crawlers or web bots to retrieve internet data. This algorithm stores data on:

backlinks to your website

determines the quality of those backlinks (are the sites relevant to one another)

Is the content relevant to the keywords (synonymic terms)

how often your content appears in other places on the web [slightly different from backlinks but related]

This type of algorithm uses the above and other information to determine how it will rank your website.

As a result most people capitalize on this by getting quality backlinks, using synonymic terms related to their keywords and getting articles posted to numerous article directories.
In order to not get frowned upon by search engine bots you need to follow their rules and create "great content websites". Keep in mind, you need to do your due diligence to ensure your creating a site based off highly searched key phrases, themed content, low keyword density, and ensure your links to pages within your site are set up correctly.

I say "Low Keyword Density [4-10%]" is best; webmasters are starting to see that high keyword density to be a contributing factor in getting websites deindexed and/or pushed far down in rankings.

Regards,

K.M.

noreply@blogger.com (Chester. Focusing on organic search engine optimization is not only cheaper but easier to maintain than the alternative (pay per click).

High Search Volume keywords/phrases and how to affectively add them to your website content (without being spammy) can be challenging. If you do not focus on this you will lose out on potential exposure. Online exposure is one thing, knowing what to do with that exposure is another.

Granted, that organic search engine optimization takes time but having some patience in this area will pay in the long run. Pay Per Click is a way to get your website exposed but the downside is that you have to pay whenever someone clicks on a ad you created so it is best to
already have planned what you want the traffic generated from PPC to do. For instance, an opt-in email squeeze page has proven to be very effective.

A buddy of mine said he would "drop me a few dollars" to flip for him (online). I had to explain to him that I'm not selling dope online and his version of "a few dollars" wouldn't be enough to pay for lunch (lol!). My online business is structured for gradual financial growth. Ok, maybe when I learn what the "big dogs" know the "gradual" will become expeditious growth. When I can outsource enough to the point that the business almost runs on its own I will spend a little money on myself. Until then I'm still on the grind!

The key is organization and outsourcing where it is smart and affordable for you. Early on I was under the impression that I'd have time to not only write all the content but to submit everything to the directories (Article Marketing). HA! I've since hired a freelance writer whom of which I give explicit instructions on what I need written (what it will be used for, etc). I also outsource website directory submissions.

My job consists of looking for Niches that will generate substantial daily traffic, pick a relevant domain name, web hosting, and web marketing strategies (I will eventually outsource this too). Outsourcing has freed up more time for me to work on the most important aspects of my business (traffic rich websites) I enjoy learning new proven profit strategies especially those with low overhead and high return on investment.

noreply@blogger.com (Chester. Websites are given a PR rating and the higher the number means the more pages you have in the first 20 search results.

A combination of things will get your website a high PR. The first is, patience, high PR does not happen overnight.

Quality back links: You should continue to get backlinks as long as you have a website.
Numerous back links: How many? The more the better.

Low competition mid level searched keywords/phrases: this is most important and the hardest to achieve for a Novas.

Articles submitted to 300+ directories: This is tedious and should be outsourced or use article submission software.

Add new content to your website on a weekly basis: no more than twice a week should be fine. Anymore than twice a week may set off "auto generated website" flags with search engines and get your website deindexed.

Post to related forums and blogs that allow you to use a signature link.

Start a blog and link back to your website where possible (do not duplicate your content).

There are other ways to gain high PR but in the grand scheme of getting visitors to do what you want them to PR isn't very important.

Regards,

K.M.

noreply@blogger.com (Chester. Cars, motorcycles, roller skates, home décor, cooking and techno gadgets, shoes, and clothes; they all have seen my dollar (some of them more than others). In the coming months I’ve pledged to stay focused on my Work at Home Hobbies instead of others that will potentially drain and not grow my bank account.

I continue to read many Work at Home or Work from Home articles to find out what people have to say on the subject and their experiences. The subject of “Growing your Work at Home Business” should be an eye opener for anyone wanting to Work from Home. I had an individual who wanted me to build a Flash Website for them for an eShoe store. The client didn’t have much capital to start. Being the online Entrepreneur that I am I decided to save the person the time and heartache of jumping into a situation that could drain their starting capital. They wanted something created that they would have to continue to pay someone to make changes to on an ongoing basis. Do you see how this could drain your Capital?

A Work at Home Business with small starting capital must start successful practices in the very beginning to maintain longevity. It is imperative that Work at Home Entrepreneurs learn how to do and implement some of the tasks required to run their business. To some this may not seem to be Work at Home Business Growth but if you look closer it is. For instance, if you continue to pay someone to make updates to an ever changing website (like shoes) that is money that could be used to buy hosting space, web domains, learning materials, web based training courses, flyers, business cards, advertising, etc.

Remember: A website or business doesn’t advertise itself.

We can grow our Work at Home Businesses by learning how to effectively run the business ourselves. The aforementioned is a painful process to say the least because for some there is a LARGE learning curve involved. Personally, I’ve had to learn far more SOURCE CODE than I would have ever liked to; in fact, I stayed away from any course in collage that had too much to do with source code. Well, guess what? When I started my online businesses and got around to SEO (Search Engine Optimization) I had to learn all kinds of source code, how it works, and how to implement it within W3 Standards. Learning source code and SEO are two BIG advantages I will have once I start another website. What I’m saying here is that, in most cases you only have to learn something once and since it is part of your Work at Home Business, remain abreast of any changes and updates that may affect the way you do business. Once successful your Work at Home Business Process can be implented in new ventures. See where I'm going with this?

Once you learn the majority of the tools used to keep your business profitable you can bring in young help, train them yourself and pay them little or nothing (just kidding). Do you see how this strategy will grow your business?

By no means are you competing with the online business giants’ who have astronomical budgets at their disposal (maybe later). If you are like my self you want to keep your business expenses low and your profits consistently increasing.
