Fashion Style at CNN Heroes 2011

The CNN Heroes event took place over the weekend in Los Angeles, where CNN honors everyday people who are changing the world. Created in 2007 and hosted by Anderson Cooper, the annual television special honors individuals who make extraordinary contributions to humanitarian aid.

The stars showed up to honor these individuals and looked their best to honor this year's individuals.

Miley Cyrus: 19-year-old Cyrus has been debuting a more adult look recently. The former Disney tween wore a stunning Roberto Cavalli gown in pale yellow but her boobs were popping out! The dress was beautiful but could have had more fabric in the chest area. Just saying...unless you are one of those flat chested Kiera Knightly types, keep those boobs in check girl! She paired the dress with some Neil Lane jewelry and a loose side ponytail, which was pretty cute. Miley was on hand at the awards show to perform her hit song "The Climb" and while the event was called "Heroes" Miley has continually tweeted that she's nobody's role model.

Brooklyn Decker: Actress Brooklyn Decker wore a short, loose fitting dress that might have looked too big or too sloppy on any other actress, but this is Brooklyn Decker, c'mon, so naturally she rocked it. She paired the camel-colored Christian Dior dress with Loeffler Randall shoes, Lulu Frost earrings, and carried a Jimmy Choo clutch. Brooklyn tweeted that night, "At #CNNHeroes...30 mins in and moved to tears already. Truly inspiring. Tune into CNN to hear these incredible stories."

Sofia Vergara: The "Modern Family" star showed off her curves in a black lace Dolce&Gabbana dress and paired it with, GASP, Kmart jewelry. Yep, you read that right, she walked down the red carpet in jewels from Kmart, but don't freak out just yet, the accessories were from her own line exclusively for Kmart, so in that case, it's ok. Even though it's winter in LA, meaning it's still like 75 degrees out, Vergara paired her dress with some black tights and leopard print heels.

AnnaLynne McCord: The "90210" star was channeling some kind of Black Swan influence with her clothing choice for this years CNN Heroes. With her hair pulled up into a kind of ballet bun that she wore with a black strapless Alice + Olivia dress. The dress had a bushy and playful skirt of cascading ruffles, with an embellished bodice. She did her make-up dramatic with a smokey eye and nude lips.

The Latin Grammy Awards were last night and because the ceremony was in Las Vegas, the stars fashion were bright, shimmery and over the top. From Demi Lovato’s plunging neckline to Sofia Vergara’s sequined Barbie gown, the whole night screamed “VEGAS”.

Shakira: While walking the carpet, Shakira wore a glittering strapless gown. The gold dress featured some over-the-top jewels all over the bodice with a poofy skirt and train. It walked a fine line between red-carpet glamour and pageant queen. She later changed into another poofy pink gown for a performance and sparkling skinny jeans and lace top for her second song.

Demi Lovato: She might only 19 years old, but she is quick to dismiss her Disney starlet past. When she’s not playing mouth rape with Wilmer Valderrama, she is working it in very sultry clothes on the red carpet. This young singer wore a magenta Roland Mouret pantsuit with a plunging neckline. While she bared all with her chest, she says her only regret is, “I’m bummed that my red hair didn’t stay very well,” she tweeted.

Zoe Saldana: Saldana opted for a shimmery green Elie Saab gown that sounds hideous but was actually kind of gorgeous with her skin tone. Call her the queen of Emerald city but since the Latin Grammy’s went with a green instead of a red carpet, I guess she was right on point.

Sofia Vergara: Modern Family actress also opted for a sparkling strapless Reem Acra dress. She wore a silver gown with sequin detailing that showed off the actress’ infamous curves. She also paired it with a chunk silver bracelet, large silver ring, some huge hoop earrings and a glittering silver clutch. Cleary, she’s not worried about being over-the-top.

Adrienne Bailon: Former Cheetah girl was a dead-ringer for Jennifer Lopez that night. While J.Lo did not attend the awards ceremony, it’s okay because Bailon was doing her best “J.Lo’s ass” impression. In a curvy black and silver gown by LaQuan Smith with side cut-outs and a low back, Bailon wore her hair slick back (J.Lo style) and pushed her butt out for photogs.

Paulina Rubio: Pop singer Paulina Rubio had a fashion miss last night. She changed her outfit twice and neither were stunning. First she wore a gold sequined romper with fishnets, that might have been cute on, oh I dunno, Willow Smith. She also wore another gold shimmery gown, that looked like it was made with chainmail and featured sharp shoulder pads and extra rounding near the hips that only made them look bigger.

I love the fashion choices at music awards shows. While at shows like The Oscars or The Golden Globes, everyone looks vaguely the same because everyone looks really good and everyone is wearing Marchesa and everyone is wearing Armani Prive and it’s so pretty that, quite frankly, I’m bored. But at music awards shows, everyone gets a little more cray cray when it comes to style. Here’s what the stars wore to the American Music Awards last night.

Katy Perry : Katy Perry looked good and somewhat normal last night. Where was the rock-a-billy outfit, where was the candy inspired dress? Katy, clad in pink hair that she wore in a vibrant pompadour up-do wore a strapless Vivienne Westwood Couture gown with bright blue peep-toe shoes. It was demure but still had a hint of Katy Perry ridiculousness.

Selena Gomez : Proving that she’s now this 19-year-old style icon, the poptart wore a backless silver Giorgio Armani gown. She looked better than most celebs twice her age. Good Job Selena Gomez.

Jennifer Lopez : Aside from the nearly sheer body suit she wore during her AMA performance, the star wore a body hugging one-shouldered Zuhair Murad gown, Jimmy Choo shoes and Neil Lane jewelry to walk the red carpet.

Nicki Minaj : Minaj, “normaled up” the teeniest bit last night. Luckily she wasn’t dressed as a Harajuku Barbie, but rather opted for a bright green and humongous Oscar de La Renta silk taffeta gown and paired it with a black lace bodice. She was rocking light pink curls and some strappy black heels that she literally could not walk in. When she accepted one of her awards last night, some member of her entourage had to hold her hand as she made the trek slowly across the stage. Hey Nicki, Mariah Carey called and says she wants her Diva attitude back.

Jennifer Hudson : Hudson is literally the incredible shrinking woman these days. Looking thinner than ever before, the singer wore a metallic cocktail dress by Jenny Packham.

Jenny McCarthy : While she’s not a singer, I have to mention her dress because she wore an adorable plum colored Victoria Beckham dress. I rarely see Victoria Beckham dresses out and about, so I was excited to see how cute her designs actually are.

Taylor Swift : Is it just me, or does Taylor Swift always walks a fine line between a pageant girl and a red carpet star? She does and somehow manages to pull it off. She flat ironed her usually ringlet curls and paired it with a sequined strapless Reem Acra gown, Lorraine Schwartz jewelry and Jimmy Choo shoes.

Katherine Heigl : If you were wondering why Katherine Heigl was at a music show, her hubby Josh Kelley is a country music artist. Anyways, Heigl didn’t really wow last night. Her black Roberto Cavalli gown showed a little too much cleavage and the rippling and ruching in the fabric made her look like an evil mermaid.

Heidi Klum : For someone who works in the fashion world, she sure has a lot of fashion misses. The former supermodel wore a metallic Giles Deacon cocktail dress with cutout details that revealed bright purple undergarments. She looked like an arts and crafts project with tin foil.

Christina Aguilera : Proving that she obviously didn’t get the memo when everyone trashed her outfit at the Michael Jackson tribute concert, Christina Aguilera yet again tried to squeeze into another outfit that didn’t fit her. For her “Moves Like Jagger” performance she wore a white Herve Leger wrap dress. I thought those dresses were designed so everyone looks slender in them, I guess I was wrong.

Mary J. Blige : If anyone else wore this dress I would LOL a little bit, but Mary J. Blige has been around the block and back and is such a veteran that she can do whatever she wants. She wore a one-shoulder flowing leopard print Roberto Cavalli gown that was so over-the-top I’m sure Kris Jenner has one in every color.
