Checks For Genuine Online Businesses

How would a novice know whether any online opportunity is good enough and is not taking him/her for a ride?

Following are few guide posts that I have developed over the years to help you in the decision making process which may not be complete checks but at least can conclude successfully if the business/opportunity is genuine.

To analyze any online business I deploy the following checks:

Type the name of the company or opportunity on google and read reviews about it. – If there is a healthy debate about the opportunity, there is a possibility that this could be genuine (I am not don’t yet)
Type the domain name at scamadvisor or similar sites that give you info about the domain and it’s evolution – Not always does an old domain mean trustworthiness. If there is too much of concealing or hiding of facts this is a signal that it might be fake, also look for the ratings bar for percentage of trust worthiness. (I am still not done)
Look for postings on social media such as FB and watch some you tube videos on reviews and procedures followed by the company. – Look for healthy debates (I am still not done)
Look for poor grammar used on the website – This is ignored most of the times by fake sites and can be a good barometer for the honest opportunity seeker (I am not done yet)
Look for complaints registered by users against this website. – No complaints does not always mean it is good, it may also mean there is no complaint redressal mechanism. Even if there are complaints, check for redressal speed.(Still require a bit more)
Look for whois data about the website owners – Too much concealing is a sign of danger.(One more check left)
Check if there are charges to join – Generally if there are charges to join this is no good as most honest online business houses do not charge a fee. Yes it is also true that for business to run there needs to be sales and moving of goods and services, but this cannot be an alibi for charging upfront fees.

If all of the above are negative, the site is fake and may only be collecting your data.

If there is a positive presence of the website or opportunity on all of the above (don’t worry about some negative comments), the site is good to go for and the opportunity great.

Ultimately it is the wisdom of the individual to gauge an online businesses intent or credibility, while the above are guide post from my own personal experience.

The Choice Is Your's

Have you ever imagined why you are where you are today? Did you ever know that life gives you what you deserve for the work you have done. You may be unlucky at times to not get what you deserve, but this cannot last forever. Your fortunes are as much inclined as your will to do the right thing is. In my personal experience there have been times when I have really made bad choices, choices that have affected my present and to a certain extent my future. However, after I have come to realize this as an effect of the choices I made in the past, I have started making the right choices and am beginning to see the results. I am sure that with my new found path I will succeed and this will shape my future for the best.

If you are thinking that money is what I am after, you are wrong, it is what money can do is what I am looking for and that is the difference in perception between someone who works for money v/s the one who makes money work for him. You may also think I am materialistic, again you are wrong. I am after the things that gives one happiness and joy and if it happens at the cost of money, so be it, after all what is the use of the money if you can’t spend it on things that will give happiness to you and the people around. If money can buy a meal for the one who has not eaten well for days, so be it, if money can clothe a person who hasn’t got clothes to wear, so be it and if money can bring a smile on someones face whom you choose to give it to, so be it.

So frankly, whether you wish to use your time and energy in the direction that will help you succeed or waste it on useless things, The Choice Is Yours !

I Had A Thought, So Do You.

I few days ago I had a thought that I must write and so I started, as I believe that writing is the best way to get your word through and this was motivated by an incident that I came across on my visits to one discotheque (Disc in modern terms) in Dubai, UAE(where I currently live) which was quite some time ago, but I still can’t forget that incident that made me believe that words written can be much more effective than words spoken, in case of a dispute.

It was one of our weekend out with my wife and some friends at a disc in Dubai. We were dancing on the floor to some numbers played by the beat group, of course high in spirits but yet in control. We took a break from the dance and went back to our seats after which the group started playing some rock numbers which I love, but the other members of my group did not fancy it much. So I took the floor alone and started rocking along with some other people on the floor. One of the bouncers walked up to me saying that only couples allowed on the floor and took me away in a very unpleasant manner. I kept my cool and walked out of the floor, but was very disturbed. I did not give up, neither did I say a word to revolt.

I asked the courteous lady at the bar counter to pass me a complaint and suggestion leaflet and narrated the entire story in writing. It Worked ! The floor manager called me the next day and asked me for a meet at the hotel, apologized to me and promised to take action on the concerned person along with instructions passed to the staff to be careful.

That was when I realized that writing works and since then I have written certain articles, but writing a blog I felt was most effective these days and hence you are reading this today. I may make sense to some and may not to others, may make good logic to some and none to others, but even if I could bring about a positive effect on a few, I would be content.

What I am trying to say here is, that surely not everyone can put words into written text, but what is more important is bring the word out in any way we can; it may be a mail, a tweet, a letter or spoken words. I am sure many of you have stories to tell about your good experiences and I believe they must be shared to spread the good news and to bring about a change and a change for good. I had a thought and I believe, so do you!

The World Is A Stage And We Are All Players - William Shakespeare

World is a stage and we are all players are words of the great poet William Shakespeare.

Although not all of us may agree to this idea, but I for one subscribe to this view and am sure many of you do too.

Why would I subscribe to this view will be explained in the following lines:

I remember my college days when this line was spelt out by one of my teachers from one of our English classes and she was of the opinion that this is not true, but that was her view. From that time onwards, this line rings in my ears and has always been there and I have time and again encountered instances in my life that made me believe, how true this sentence in meaning is.

All our life we amass wealth and work hard to make the best out of life for earning our living and building huge investments, not thinking or understand the true purpose of what we are doing. Our goal in life is not well defined and hence we go beyond the boundaries of reason to do more in our life than what is required. Life for us has become an arena for competition and survival which we assume it to be, parameters for which are set by us. We do not even take the time to ponder on what are we going to do with all this and how long are we going to live to enjoy the fruits of what we have earned.

In my home town I have seen many a people choosing a career on ships either as cooks, or common stewards and earn a hefty sum and all of a sudden catastrophe strikes by an Act Of God and all the riches are for someone else to enjoy. I mean what is the use of all the wealth that you have amassed over the years if you have to leave it one day. It is better to put it to use for someone who needs it and enjoy life with the money you have.

Not only that, we struggle all our lives thinking that we will make a bounty at retirement and enjoy its fruits, but most of us actually do not, as we are too busy at work to take care of our health and make huge compromises with that and end up with ailments to tend to after retirement. It is good to have money for your retirement, but aiming for an early retirement should be the goal, even if at that point in time there is a temptation to not retire due to the money that’s coming in from your job or paid profession.

After encountering all such incidents around me, I have really come to realize that our purpose in life is designed by a supernatural power and that we are all players at his behest.

Ask And You Shall Receive

Many a times we need some help with certain things that we do in life, especially things we do not understand and then give up, because it may seem too complicated for us. These may be things that may actually be very simple, but our lines of usual thought are probably not able to decode the thing. Such times are when we actually should seek help from someone who has all the answers or has been through it and done it successfully, such as a help line or a senior person in the concerned field.

We are usually shy of the fact that others could understand but not us and we tend to put up a bold face to hide the fact and then avoid the whole thing all together. How long are we going to do this? This is not an attitude of a winner. A winner never quits, till he has understood that what he is looking for and puts into action, everything he has planned to see as a result in that. This is because a winner will always ask the question when it is essential to move forward in whatever he is endeavoring to do.

Questions are essential to clear the cobwebs in our minds and sort things out for the good as these questions when sought after, gives us an experience of what runs through the mind of a new joinee or recruit in any field and helps us better sort out his dilemma in future thereby instilling in us leadership skills which is a very important ingredient of success.

Well today we shall discuss about the main reason why most people fail in Online Businesses. What do you think is the main factor or factors that lead to people failing in Online businesses. The answer is simpler than we think.

Imagine yourself travelling by an aircraft and you learn that you had a 99 percent chance of reaching your destination safely. Would you take that chance? The answer is a resounding “NO” and almost everyone I am sure would agree to that.
Then why is it that we choose to travel by the airplane or imagine yourself at crossroads on a cliff and suddenly out of nowhere a native arrives and shows you the way. Would you go by your instincts or follow the directions given by the native? Am sure it would be the latter.
Similarly in an “Online Business” what is that important factor among others that makes you “A Success Or Failure”? The answer is the “Trust” factor. They simply do not know you, nor do they know what a particular business is all about until and unless you build that trust factor with them.
The best way to build the trust factor in most cases is to talk to them and there are multiple ways to do that depending on their demography and geographic location. Although personal face to face talk with the concerned would be most ideal, the increasing use of internet as a cost and time effective way to communicate is becoming the order of the day and there is nothing wrong in that.

Learn From Your Mistakes & Amend

Who says that the professionals did not make mistakes? The very fact that they are professionals proves that they have made mistakes, mistakes which at times you and I won’t even imagine. These are the very people who have learnt from their follies and have amended it to perfection. The more we dwell with this topic and fix it in our minds the more perfect we shall be. Even the great Greek philosopher Socrates committed a mistake and therefore we are not alienated. Our end unlike Socrates must be different and unique and must set an example for all to follow.

The way to do that, is by leading an exemplary life and that will only be possible, if we learn from our mistakes and amend them to perfection. It is human to falter, may be even more than once or twice, but to not learn from the mistakes is certainly not the way to go. Stopping to learn, is stopping to grow, it’s as simple as that. Not learning from your mistakes, makes your life aimless and will certainly cost you a lot in the long run. Having an aim, may be as simple as setting a task for your life and this task may be even small achievements at various points in time, ultimately culminating into that one big aim or goal.

In whatever we attempt to do, we must give it our 100% and nothing less. This may at times be a challenge for many of us, but trying is always the best thing to do, as there is no other way to get close to perfection. In whatever profession or business we are, our actions must always be aimed to attain perfection however challenging the situations we are faced with. Be accountable for your own actions even if they led to failures. This besides making you learn, will also improve you image and will earn you respect.

Dale Carnegie once said, “The successful man will profit from his mistakes by trying again in a different way.” What would have happened if man did not try to get onto the moon even after failing the first time? We would not have satellite communication today, if we did not explore space again and again. The writing is on the wall in bold and yet people fail to realize the simple fact of learning from ones mistakes and amending it to perfection. It is now time to smell the coffee, amend what has been going wrong in our lives and amend it to perfection.

Ever wondered why most of us (around 97%) are employed today, working for may be multi-nationals and other smaller business houses and we hold great pride in that too?

The answer goes back to centuries of traditional beliefs and thought process which have contributed to this disparity in proportions. Although the concept of entrepreneurship is as old as time memorial, the idea of security and contentment that a job provides took precedence, as it is in human nature to have various kinds of security including financial security.

However, today things are changing although this may not make a remarkable difference in proportions, but definitely will contribute in changing mind sets with the reduced security that jobs have to offer these days. Business definitely is the way to go ahead, as there is a huge scope that the markets today provide for entrepreneurs, with even governments these days providing various incentives to small businesses that generate employment and revenue for the state.

When we think of business, the first thing that comes to our mind is a big investment and many other negatives such as government policies, corruption etc. However, most small business could be started with meager investments or at times with no investments at all.

What you mainly should be focusing on, is the sector you wish to cater to with your service or product and who are your target audience. In this way you would know how to proceed and what it would take to initiate the business. The main reason why people do not venture into business is the lack of understanding of what a business means. For a common man business means selling of products, while the true meaning of business is much more than just that.

Business in it's true sense means, the trading of resources such as goods and services and or talents which are abundant with one, to the one that lacks it. Business can be associated with almost anything that we do or use in life. Therefore, the purview of business is much huge than what we as common people imagine. My idea in writing this article is to enlighten you on the concept of business and how easy it is to imagine something and eventually execute it.

Business means freedom and freedom brings along many advantages in life, with reduced worries and commitments and obviously more time with your loved ones when business is conducted in the right manner. All you need is an understanding and a bit of research or study, for which you could also choose your mentor if you please, who could guide you and make you understand where to get started.

It's A Game Of Choice

It is a well known fact that our future depends largely on the choices we make in life. Whether it be with regards to our careers, our business or any common thing we do based on the perception of our minds and the zone of comfort we are in and what we wish to achieve, if it would mean stretching ourselves beyond this zone, would all determine the direction our life will take.

In my own personal experience, I have found and realized the importance of time management, how it largely influences our direction in life and by and large in a big way contributes to resultant success or failure in all our Endeavour's.

Endeavour's need not be large projects, but our day to day activities, success or failure of which largely depends on these small choices we make every moment. We are so engrossed in life, that we fail to categorize and prioritize our activities and in the bargain fail to even recognize which of these activities are unproductive and the worst part is, we do it repeatedly, thereby contributing to our failures.

These activities could be anything from finding time to look for a good opportunity or spending time with your family. These activities however small they are, contribute largely to our success or failure in life. I personally consider television serials an evil to society, which keep people engrossed, thereby forgetting their daily tasks and contributing to bad time management. I don't personally consider television as an evil, but better restraint in selecting your programs to revolve around your time instead of the other way round, will be a better way to manage time.

Although, I am not always consciously inclined to believing that TIME=MONEY, I think it is the most practical thing to believe and act on in these times, although time could also be planned for leisure as a reward for your excellence in managing it.

As an experiment, try and consciously analyze your activities on a daily basis for a few days and see the resultant effect it has on your small plans. This will give you a rough estimate on the things that could be achieved if you'd acted differently. Yes you are right, these small achievements contribute to larger achievements, which eventually make you a successful person in all spheres or tasks to take on.

This realization will obviously make you a better person and will also bring you to lime-light, thereby bringing people close to you and then you will win their admiration and confidence.

Dare To Dream

How many times, we as adults have compromised on our dreams? Do we remember the times when we wanted something and did not get it, just because we could not afford it? At every moment in life, day in and day out we are compromising, right from the things we wish to eat from the things we wish to wear. Do we realize why this is all happening? Many of us would blame the circumstances or the conditions we live in, or would blame it on inflation or even the political system in the country we live in.

The fact is far from the reality we perceive. It is a dogma that surrounds us, that everything else is a problem, except us. That is where the problem lies and that, we do not “seek in, to sort out” but do the exact opposite. Charity begins at home it is said and how true it is. If we seek to change things around us, we must change our attitude and change in attitude will come only if we dare to do the things that we always are skeptical about.

This new found change in attitude may make us conscious about what people think about us, but this must happen in order to bring about a change in our life. When we dare to do the things we do not normally do, it may be uncomfortable at times, but if done over and over again, will put in us a kind of self discipline and we will realize that the smallest of success will make our heart jump with joy and we will then start loving it.

There is a famous saying, “expecting something different by doing the same things over and over again, is the height of foolishness”. Therefore, it is now time that we nurture the child within us to dream and dream big, as only that can give us some direction in life and will bring about a change in our lives and in the lives of people around us, who would surely be influenced seeing the change it brings in us.
