Having a lunch alone at a cafeteria by Sutehage

Do you know this gentleman eating some kind of soba noodle in front of the camera at a cafeteria? His name is Sutehage who was formerly the college student of Chuo University. Why did he have a lunch standing on the corridor there? Mainly he claimed that he had a complaint about the shortage of the seats that was not enough to accommodate the whole students.

However, this video was accidentally famous and popular for another reason, which attracted or even encouraged many lone people who can't eat their own menu with their people. I could not figure out whether Sutehage himself intended the video to cheer up the people without any friends, but this video endowed him the persistent popularity among the young viewers who were mainly the students.

Sutehage's fearless selfie style was not from his true invincible mentality, but from his penetrable overcome against his own shyness, according to his previous interview. Actually, it was so weird or embarrassing to film themselves alone at the center of a cafeteria among the people who might see them so skeptically. Sutehage's daredevil approach indeed bolstered the courage of followers who often tend to be diffident against the people because of their obsession for inability of communicative skill.

Anyway, Sutehage is still our hero.

I completely forgot the application for Google AdSense. I checked the several information about this blog and my request for the advertisement payment was unfortunately turned down. However, I determined to restart this and upload the articles about my hobby, preference for the various cultures and the lifetime stories of mine.

Currently, I tentatively provides my English literal works on Medium to attract many readers, many of which are the introductions of Japanese cultures and unique episodes with the videos from YouTube. However, owing to my inability for English, I couldn't get the visitors who are willing to read them. Probably, the topics of my Medium ones are not suitable for the users there.

So, I will reboot this blog again to enhance my English skill. Thus, this blog is also intended for me to practice the writing skill of English. Thankfully, I already improved my manipulation for English very markedly in those of days. However, I have to get a far better command of both speaking and writing ones than those of mine to date.

Can you guess what the purpose is the advertisement? Promotional one for Seaside vacation? Some enlightenment?

This is the commercial of plastic surgery in 1970's. With echoed catchy refrains and sensationally flashy effects of huge logos "Hagiya Seikei(はぎや整形, Hagiya Plastic surgery), it is so impactful for us as modern people to see. I didn't know whether the advertisement had impact or effect to allure the potential customers or patients or not. Anyway, this short video was so shocking and memorably impressive.

Sega Saturn start-up collection...

Sega Saturn had 2 sibling models, Hi-Saturn from Hitachi and V-Saturn from Victor JVC both manufacturers were affiliated with Sega to support developing the console. Basically, both models were almost the same to original one except some additional functions like Video & Photo CD player with Hi-Saturn as upgrade model.

Why did those OEM models were generated and supplied to affiliated manufactures? Because they wanted to sell the products in electronic shops which did not mainly deal with gaming gadgets so much in 90's. Sega Saturn was mainly sold in toy shops or gaming shops. However, sibling ones were retailed as electronical appliance or multimedia player for the purpose of expanding the shares against the rivals like Nintendo & Sony.

The openings of the each model were different. Although V-Saturn and original one was almost the same animated movie except the different logos, Hi-Saturn had alternative one that contained some 3D logos on the cosmic wallpaper.

Do you know or visit the American small town in Saitama?

Johnson Town is the answer where used to be the residential area for garrison of US millitary in Iruma in the past. After retreating from there, the homestead area was subdivided by the real estate and turned to the residences for Japanese with countryside atmospheres like USA.

The upper picture depicted the wholly managerial office of Johnson Town. They displayed the flags of USA to make the visitors and inhabitants be in American countryside.

The wooden houses in this area attract us like we are in the American village. Because they were aged and wanted for some bolstering approaches to pass the rules of housing law, lots of houses were already reformed and made weathered to sustain themselves in the harsh up-and-down temperature in Summer or Winter and rigorously gusty situation like typhoon.

Flashback Friday. This is one of the most popular sceneries of Japan as temporary walking street in Akihabara. It was so attractive for people to visit the city. However, due to the tragic terrorism by death warranted inmate who was already executed, this was halted because of the safety aspect. After several years, the temporary street came back again.

Choro Q Wonderful, former popular racing game series fearing the tiny miniature cars by Takara, has lots of semi-sarcastic or socially serious episodes despite the pop and cute concepts. This "Blue Lake" stage is also the aspects of seriousness.

Blue Lake was formally the city named Blue City where rich people as cars the residents mainly. City had aqueous Midas which can provide the magical water resource that makes people be so affluent. However, because of their greediness and disrespectful attitudes for Midas, the city finally flooded and submerged in the lake. Those episodes embedded us so much and was so impressive as the fairytales for both adults and children.

Akihabara...as the popular and attractive area currently represented as the mecca of Japanese cultures of animation, underground idol showbiz was partly transformed from the past electrical traits who has lots of certain retailers from consumers to professionals but still has the atmospheres and passions like the 90's ones in this video...

Windows 95 reminded me of the impressive day when the new desk-top computer by Gateway was finally delivered and booted up in our house. This was the first time to touch and see MS-DOS because our long-time partner of computer was PC-98 series which was originally made by Japanese and standardized basic formula by NEC.

Windows 95 and hardware by Gateway provided us with the opportunities to play the computer games with the genuine 3D graphics, very authentic software which helped us develop some documents and administer the PC effectively and the Internet which was not realistic or useful for us yet.

By the way when I was a child, I often visited Akihabara with my parents, especially with my dad who was used to customize his own by going to some shops purchasing motherboards, CPU, gaming software and other necessary gadgets for PC.

Korosuke is very beloved character from Kiteretsu Daihyakka(Eccentric encyclopedia, キテレツ大百科), because of his adorable and charming descriptions with Samurai mentality and integrity. When I just recompiled my files of photographs taken by iPhone, I sought out this adorable and cheerful picture which features the fragments of the scene Korosuke showed the hand-made poster.

"Be cautious for a home invader!!"

In the aforementioned episode, Korosuke was unreasonably labeled as "thief" by the sinister illustration as "thievish Korosuke" for prevention of larcenies depicted by Tongari who never represented his name on the pic. Tongari is actually one of the friends of Kiteretsu as big brother of little Samurai. Even he did not have some grudges for Korosuke, Tongari made a fun by sinisterly depict him a little.

Therefore, Korosuke was libeled pitilessly and picked on by kids who was throwing pebbles at him as larcenist in neighborhood that made him very sad and flipping out to arrest the suspect who depicted the malicious illustration.

After investigation of culprit who was definitely Tongari, Korosuke snapped out of Tongari so much and forcibly made him delineate the little samurai as the trustful and righteous police officer against crime on the poster right away.

Very confused by the title because of the same one from "Frozen" by Disney, this is from the classic arcade game Ace Driver.

Ace Driver series were one of eminent racing games by Namco. They featured some open-wheel futuristic designed formula cars. The concept was so different from aforementioned company's symbolic series Ridge Racer which provided the players with drifting cruises.

The soundtrack of Ace Driver was already sold in consumer line but priced very expensively in some used shops or auctions because of rarity. Fortunately, I could purchase it several years ago.

The whole music videos of this album sampling from eminent gaming scenes are so retrospectively amazing and pique for us who love the video games especially in 1990's and 2000's. Of course, the musical elements by Pizza Hotline are also impeccable. I already fell in love with their works so much. They nimbly quoted some iconic fragments of electronic sounds such as boot-up music from Windows 95.

Narita Airport had the strictest and most cautious securities in the world before the 911 tragedy in 2001 because of the numerous skirmishes brought by protesters partly associated with some left-wing extremists which attempted to terror especially in 1970s. Formerly, They surprisingly had several stringent security gates in several spots with body-frisking, ID confirmation and luggage claims those were conducted not only for the passengers but also the visitors entering boarding gates to secure the airport.

The long-time and unsolved conflict between Airport and some protestors is elaborated by the anonymous editors in Wikipedia in English...as Sanrizuka Struggle. Hereunder, I do not intend to express or insist which I am for or against the problems politically. Thanks so much for understanding.

In this video, there are some uncanny and obstructive pinnacles in the airport which was not the property of airport or not built by the constructors. That's one of symbols or ,as they called, surveillance gazebos of protesters against the airport. Those were also functioned as the obstacles for airplanes which possibly hamper the departures and landings. Therefore, the tower is the property of veteran activist because he or she adamantly defies to evict.

Because of the human rights for their livelihoods of activists, the subterrestrial tunnels that leads to their homes or properties were constructed. Some adventurous people interested in the pinnacles and journalists often visited the weird carbuncle fortress. They often tended to see the security guards who are in charge of surveillance to activist and have to be asked some investigations what are the purposes to visit to identify whether he or she is activist or not.

By the way, honestly, the scenes from pinnacles are definitely eerie, uncanny and unfriendly but so thrilling and exciting, right? Airplanes are cool and spectacular but unfortunately noisy and windy for people to live with...moreover, I felt some nondescript isolation in the horizonal area with asphalts in Narita...which is imaginably different from the "completely concreted and shunned" Super Max prison in USA...

This guy is absolutely hardcore challenger and genuinely funny hero for us. Okailove, who become the Youtuber more than 10 years ago, is the legendary figure in YouTube by his many honorarily stupid challenging videos. The episode of his nickname on YouTube is that he is the avid fan of Ms.Okai who is the member of Hello Project as formerly called Morning Musume known as famous idol group in Japan.

The video above is one of the venerable challenges. He tried to put some amount of Japanese horseradish as spicy Wasabi on his tongue while riding on the roller coaster. Yes, he is completely and adorably reckless!!!

By the time he was seating with the painful taste, he was struggled with refusing or vomiting the heap of Wasabi. Nevertheless, he made it bravely despite the extreme situation on his tongue.

So funny, but we love him so much. We miss you Okailove,

Prime Goal EX, one of the football gaming series by Namco and officially associated with J-League as top soccer competition in Japan, is released firstly in arcade and secondly in PlayStation.

This is the one of the soundtrack lineups from that game composed by Mr.Hiroshi Okubo who is so famous for lots of his works for video games and as one of very sophisticated sound creator in Japan. Even if you don't know or play the game, the music is so kicky and stylish for us.

"Linux Cafe in Akihabara" Flashback Friday.

Flashback Friday...this is the abandoned place in Akihabara which is very popular and famous "cultural" area in Tokyo. Linux cafe, in conjunction with Pronto as companywide cafe chains, was established and served for people who wanna use the desktops and free wi-fi services. The place also provided the community spaces for users who wanna share some information and enjoy the conversations about computers.

Currently, the cafe was renovated by Family Mart. It was transformed to convenient store with eat-in space. Honestly, I miss this tech-sensed design and one of my symbolic and memorable places in Akihabara.
