Is LiveOps Getting Sued?

Word is getting out that LiveOps maybe getting sued. Even though independent contractors signed contracts stating they aren't employees, there are some laws that state that you are an employee depending on certain circumstances regardless of what papers you signed, because of this, LiveOps is facing a lawsuit. These laws are listed on the IRS website. At this point, no one knows how the lawsuit is going to turn out.

If you work from home as an independent contractor, the rule of thumb is to at least put 30% of your check aside every pay. You can open up another bank account and if you have direct deposit, just simply get 30% deposited into your other account and do not touch it. If you start this as soon as you are hired, you will never miss it. It is better to do this early than to wait until the last minute when it is time to pay back Uncle Sam.

If you have to buy someone a gift for under $20 what would it be? Sometimes doing Secret Santa at your job can be stressful if the person you picked doesn't have anything specific on their list. Make it easy for them and write down 3 things that is easy to get. If you have a maximum of $20 on your list then don't put a shirt or blouse down. Not everyone has your taste and you might be getting a gift you really don't like.

Every year I put lottery scratchoffs as number#1(I won $10 from my co-worker in the past and plus your secret santa can buy those anywhere)
Then I put candles(this make it less stressful for them to buy you something and plus)

Last but not least I put down giftcards. You can buy giftcards from anywhere.

If someone picks me they can never go wrong because everything I wrote on the list is simple. If you are going to do secret santa make sure you don't make it hard on the person that picks your name. :)

If you are like me and have experienced bad credit before then you know how hard it is to get your credit back in shape. After filing bankruptcy years ago I had to learn how to get my credit back up to speed. The first thing I did was apply for a credit card.

Why, simply because I needed to build my credit score back up and paying something on time every month improved it alot. In less than 6 months my score went up 40 points just from paying on my credit card on time. Just make sure if you get a credit card that you are only getting one to improve your credit. If you pay on time every month but carry a high balance, then that will only lower your score. Having a balance show make other lenders believe that you are burying yourself in debt.

Thanksgiving Is Coming

I took my turkey out the freezer last night and put it in the refrigerator. I am so ready for Thanksgiving. So far we are having Turkey, Ham, Greens, String Beans, home made Macaroni and Cheese(my specialty), Candy Yams, Sourkraut, Potato Salad, Mash Potatoes, Apple Pie, Sweet Potatoe Pie, Banana Pudding, Cake, biscuits, cornbread, and I think that's it. With my family of 6, my cousins and in-laws, I am sure left overs will not exist once again. Luckily I have the day after Thanksgiving off so I can rest after eating like who did it and why. LOL.

Yesterday online, I heard about this CyberMonday thing where you can do your Black Friday shopping online Monday. I am going to have to check this out especially since I really don't like dealing with the crowds on Black Friday.
