A new adventure begins with this wonderful new talent called Mark Dickov. Coming from Glasgow Mark is following in the foot steps of the powerhouse of producers that have gone before him. This means that our ears rewarded with a deep, warm, mature and nurtured sound that goes beyond his years of age. To put it into context if we were talking about footballers we would be comparing him to the young (Jack Wilshere of Arsenal) or any young footballer with grace and maturity above his age.

His debut release entitled ''Ghost'' sets the mood and brings with it the essence of his home city Glasgow. This track is a dark deep and eerie deep house monster with lots of atmospheric tension that builds with a solid groove and sub tonal baseline guaranteed to build up the tension on the dance floor and move the crowd to frenzy.

The second track on this release is definitely my personal favourite it's called ''Simple Listening'', but wow it sure has that classic feel that will make this one of the most sought after tracks for 2013 and beyond. The space and movement between the drums the bass and hook and chords, screams deep house with an essence of soul, simple and yet so perfect.

It's been a long summer, There has been an incredible amount of focus on the UK as a whole what with the Queens Jubilee, the Olympics and the antics of certain member from the royal family.

Forget the rest of the world it's been a three month party that seemed like it would never end. Although the Eurozone looks like it would fall of the cliff at any moment and the mention of the word Economy sounds like being someone being stupid enough to say the word Candyman a few times in movie just to see what will happen next.

It seems that house music and its derivative forms are the new economy again with every man and his dog desperate to crack the Holy Grail ....... America. Duh...Hello???...

FYI it started there twenty something years ago and it has always been there.

It seems that media peeenarrrrsses are trying to revinvent the wheel and have come up with a dreadful term in the process. They are now calling what we do (EDM) and now middle class oiks, yummy mummys and milfs think that they all know something about the scene ????? WTF.

We are not EDM producers or Electronic Djs or Clubbers. What we are is organic movement of people who developed an alternative lifestyle that has now become cool and something to aspire to become.

With media tags comes the temptation to run towards the lights shouting i'm here and please recognise me. However this will also come at a price. You will be required to then have a shelf life and you will expire when they say so. You will be required to play any old shit to satisfy the masses who were watching x factor only two days ago. You will not be able to shape your own destiny and be who you want to be.

The temptation is there to sell out and play any old shit and make any old shit in this media infested whirlwind, but I can't bring myself to do it personally.

I like many others been in to it for a long time and probably still be doing my thing when people move back onto the latest media spun merry go round dog and pony show.

To those of you who were not there in the beginning, do your own musical research and scratch below the surface and educate yourselves. It does not hurt and enriches the soul. Make your journey a personal one and your discovery true to you. But have some respect. Bandwagons are not cool.

Those of you who were there in the beginning, raise your glasses to the new school, don't hate as we were once the new school and they will continue the legacy that we laid down just in their own way just like we did.

And always keep true to where you are at in any scene or movement. This is called keeping it real.People respect people who are genuine.

Always remember ''The lights may be bright, but are they really your kind of lights''....

Dj Assassin One of London’s acclaimed cult house artist and Simon Chambers room two resident of Strictly Guest List, have teamed up to launch their new bi monthly residency on Saturday 29th of October @ Korson Kingsland Road.

For the the first date they have put together a line up that brings to the fore Dj' s and producers who will be responsible for sculpting future sound of house and EDM.

This is the first chance to see to Dj Assassin who has a long history of producing for the likes of Phono,Connaisseur and Recode Recordings, Cross Section Records, Aurra Surround Sounds. He will be playing a truly exciting set that will take you on a journey through his sound and influences from Detroit & Chicago, and his own personal collection of dub plates and upcoming releases and remixes with his Deep and Underground Tech House.

Simon Chambers from Strictly Guest List will be spinning his acclaimed sound of house in it's purest form. As long founding member of the EDM and regular of the Original Progressive House Circuit (before it got it's commercial label) be prepared to hear what others are not playing in the way that it should be played.

Special Guest Damion Le Cappelain previously head man of Beau Monde Records, responsible for releasing artist like Uriel, Tom Sylvester, Norken and Intentional, Will be spinning his vision of Deep House and Sonic Funk.

Michael Brennan one of the underground heroes of deep house will be joining us for our debut and for those of you who caught him in the last Recode Recordings podcast will know what to expect.
