1. Follow the same steps as audio drivers, but instead /ifs/settings/camera/
2. Replace camdriver0.dat

- REMOVE SHUTTER SOUND

1. Navigate to /tpa/preset/system/sound/
2. Select camerashutter4.3gp and hit delete, do the same with camerashutter4_rer.3gp
When you restart your phone, shutter sound 4 option will be no sound...

After all mods are completed hit shutdown, wait for XS++ to give you the OK before you disconnect

This one from other motorola phone was i like it, and now i'll shared with you how step instalation software and home screen for Mpx200 WM2003 , There are a few different ways to do this, they are as follows this step but try download file needed in HERE:

Follow this :
1. .exe file self installer / setup launcher
2. .exe file to be run directly from the phone
3. .cab file
4. .hme file (home screens)
5. .xml + .jpg (etc)

Tips:
When installing always try to choose Install to Storage Card option to save space on the phone. Read description for each file type then use the sample file attachments to understand differences between them.

1. *.exe self installer or also known as setup launchers
- This type is nice and easy, make sure the phone is plugged into the PC and Activsync is running.
- Double click the installer icon and the app will self install to the phone.
- You will get a message to check your phone, on the phone you should see on the screen the option to install the app or not.
- Select OK and the app will install, you will be given the option to install to storage card or Phone

2. Phone executable file *.exe
- This file needs to be place directly on the phone,
- Open Activsync and click on Explore,
- Go to the storage card and place the .exe file there, (you can create subfolders on the card if you wish to make things neater)
- Right click the file on the Storage card and select Copy
- Now go to \IPSM (or Storage) \Windows\Start Menu right click and choose Paste shortcut this will place a shortcut in your Programs menu, again you can create subfolders if you wish.

3. *.cab files
- Now these files are another easy install
- With the phone connected to the PC open Activesync and go to IPSM (or Storage) \Windows\Start Menu\Accessories
- Place the cab you wish to install there (keep a copy on your PC for safe keeping)
- Now on the phone if you go to Accessories folder you will see the cab file you have just placed there, select the cab and it will self install and give you the option of where on the phone it wants to install to.
- Once the install is completed the cab will be automatically deleted so there is no tidying up to do after.

4. *.hme files
- This file is one way to install homescreen's to your phone
- Basically follow the instructions for installing cab's the only difference is it will not ask you where you want to install the homescreen.

5. *.xml + *.jpg (etc) packed in ZIP or RAR archive
- You will have unpacked a zip or rar file (but not a cab file) and got these.
- Simply copy them into \Storage (or IPSM) \Application Data \Home

Bored with your Motorola L6 phone??, try this step to make your phone different style.This post will give you tutorial how to install "skins " on an L6

Let me start by saying that the L6 does NOT support regular skinning. We have made so called "skins" for the L6 by using a custom colour scheme and some gif icons tweaking.

In this guide I'll be using the iPhone "skin".

Program you need:

P2Ktools. Download it in HERE

Uploading:

The package includes two folders called Mobile & System. Some packs include extras, such as ringtones & wallpapers.

In the Mobile folder you will find allot of gif images. You'll need to upload all of these to a/mobile folder using P2Ktools.

To do this, fire up P2Ktools, go to File Manager & hit refresh. Wait until the list loads. Locate the folder called a/Mobile.

Next you will need to click upload and select all the gif images located in the Mobile folder located in the iPhone pack.

In the System folder you'll find two files, mma_ucp & spcolor.sch.

You'll need to upload these to a/mobile/system folder.

Locate the folder a/mobile/system and click upload and select both of the files.

Seem editing:

If this is your first time uploading a custom colour scheme to your phone, you gotta enable custom colour schemes by doing the following seem edit.

Seem 0032_0001:
Offset 53 - bit 6: Settings > Personalize > Color Styles (allows for custom color style). (1 on, 0 off)

We'll be doing this seem edit with P2Ktools. Open P2Ktools and go to Seem editor. At "num" you need to enter 00032 and at "rec" 0001. Click load from phone.

Now we need to look for offset 53 and check bit 6.

Hit save to phone and then restart. Voila, you're done! So simple & easy.

Note: Make sure you backup ur original mma_ucp if u wish to go
back to ur older skin. If u wish to go back, all you gotta do is
upload ur old mma_ucp back in a/mobile/system.

If the colour scheme does not change automaticly after
restart, go to menu, settings, personaile, colour style and
change it.

FLASHING MOTOROLA A1200

Flashing Phone is the process by which you can change the version of firmware running on your phone. (Just like you can upgrade your Windows software). The process takes about 10 minutes. Generally you can flash from any version of firmware to any other – and then flash back again if desired, try read in my other posting about getting started modding A1200

following important restrictions:

• Many of the versions do not have their firmware source (sbf) files available (eg 19p) so if you flash to a different version then you can not flash back.
• If you have the Spanish A1200i you are strongly advised NOT to flash it as you may end up with a non-working phone.
• If you flash to 24p, 25p or 30p you can not flash back to any other version.

Flashing to a different version of firmware should be fairly straightforward if you follow the directions carefully – but if you have any problems then there are many threads devoted to resolving flashing problems.

No harm will come to the phone from too much flashing, however, there is a small chance you could "brick" your phone if something goes seriously wrong - so the more you flash it, the more chances are that something might go wrong! Depending on your carrier you may also void the warranty! So do it at your own risk and print off and read ALL the instructions before starting. That said I have successfully flashed my phone 8 times now to try out different versions.

IMPORTANT - before you begin flashing:

• Make sure your battery is fully charged before beginning a flash
• Back up your contacts and files using Motorola Phone Tools before doing any flashing as flashing will delete all of these and return your phone to a “vanilla” state. Data on your SD card is not touched.
• Give yourself plenty of time to complete the flashing and BE PATIENT. Sometimes it appears as nothing is happening and the % completed indicator does not change - but in my experience it can sometimes take up to 5 min before the % value changes (especially around 97-99%) - so wait at least 30 minutes before deciding it is stuck. Never disconnect your phone or turn off your PC until the flashing is finished or you may make it unusable (i.e. "brick" it!!). There are ways to recover using a tool called radiocom (described in the threads) - but they are fairly complex.

How to FLASHING MOTOROLA A1200

1. Download the file motpcsdrivers.rar to your PC and unrar it to your desktop so you can easily find it.

2. Install a program called "RSDLite" on your PC (some users prefer version 2.7 - but I used 2.8 with no issues. There is also versions 3.2 and 3.3 which some users have successfully used). See this thread for the file. For trouble free installation, if you are running Windows XP, you should have Service Pack 2 installed.

3. Download the firmware (sbf) for your phone file that you want to flash to and unrar it to your desktop.

4. Start up RSDLite on your PC. You may be asked to install a number of drivers (5 or 6) to your PC. Point it in the direction to the motpcsdrivers folder you unrared.

5. Put the phone in Bootloader Mode - MBM mode by turning on phone (with the red on/off button) while also holding down the voice record button (bottom button on the right hand side) and push down the center joystick “button” (All three buttons need to be all be held down together). The phone should start up with a red screen and say its in MBM mode.

6. Plug phone in using usb cable.

7. RSDLite should list the phone (this may take a minute or so. If it does not close down RSDLite and restart it).

8. Start the flash process, by clicking the button on the top with the ”…” and select the firmware file to install then click “Start”.

The process will take up to 10 minutes so be patient, the screen on you phone will turn off, but RSDLite will still show progress. BE PATIENT - sometime the % complete indicator may not change for up to 3-5 minutes.

9. When the "Found New Hardware" screen pops up, select “NO” for “Can Windows connect to Windows Update?” then select “Y” for “Install Software from a specific location” and point it to the motpcsdrivers folder you unrared. Once the driver has installed, click on “Finish” on the “Found New Hardware wizard” to continue the process.

[A popup may appears stating that Microsoft has not certified this software - just click on Continue]

10. You will need to install quite a few drivers – so just keep repeating.

11. It may ask you to manually restart the phone – if so, unplug the cable from PC, remove the battery for 5 seconds (make sure unplugged first!), put battery back in then turn phone back on (before plugging back into PC).

12. Once its fully on, go to Setup --> USB Mode and change mode from "Mass Storage" to "Modem".

12. Plug phone back into the PC using the cable. RSDLite should say "complete" or “PASS”

13. Unplug the phone again, turn it off and on. All should be complete.

You can now restore all your contacts, calendar and tasks back to your phone using MPT. (Be sure to remove the SIM card before doing this as the recovery function from MPT deletes any contact on SIM for some reason!)

GETTING STARTED MODDING MOTOROLA A1200

All you need to perform any of the modifications described in this writeup are the following:
• a Motorola A1200 (aka Ming) with a MicroSD memory card (= Transflash card) installed in order to copy files to your phone.
• a Windows PC with at least 1 free USB port (If you have a Mac, then read http://mac.themotoguide.com/index.php )
• a Motorola USB data cable that plugs into the mini USB port on the bottom right of your phone and the USB port on your PC
• Motorola Phone Tools (MPT) installed on your PC - this is a program that should have come on the CD that came with your phone and should be used to back up the data on your phone (contacts, calendar, etc) before attempting any of these mods.

Rar Files

Most of the files uploaded on this forum are "rar" files. These are compressed files (similar to zip files) making them smaller to download. You need to install a program that can "unrar" them before you can use them. UnzipThemAll and 7-zip are two free programs that can unrar files. (Other users use Winrar though several users have reported problems installing files unrared with this program).

To use a rar file, you download it, then use the tool to unrar it before copying the uncompressed file(s) to the SD card in your phone.

How to Copy Files To/From Your Phone
On the A1200, go to Application Launcher-->Setup-->USB Mode and ensure that “Mass Storage” is selected
Plug in the cable that connects the phone to the USB port on your PC.
Open Windows Explorer and ensure that you have “Show hidden files and folders” turned on in Explorer (Tools-->Folder Options-->View-->Show hidden files and folders)
You can now use Explorer to view the folders on your SD card on the phone. The SD card will probably be drive E: or F:. The root folder of this SD card shows directly under the Drive in Explorer – but its full path is /mmc/mmca1/ (i.e. if you copy something to the root you are copying it to /mmc/mmca1/).
You should see a folder called .system under root. If you do not see it then check you have “Show hidden files” on (see 3 above). You are only able to view/edit files on the SD card – this method does not permit you to view/edit files directly on the phone (which is why you need installer programs like MPKG and linloader to install programs on your phone).
You can now copy/cut and paste files to and from your PC to the folders on your SD card.
Unplug the phone when done. (Before unplugging, you should always use the unplug or eject hardware facility. This will ensure integrity of the filesystem on the transflash card).
Wait a couple of seconds then you can then use File Manager under Application Launcher on your phone to view these files.

MPKG AND LINLOADER ON MOTOROLA A1200

Before you can install many programs on your phone you will first need to install the following 2 pieces of software that will permit you to install other software.
MPKG - a package installer that will allow you to install executable app packages of type **.pkg (similarly to a java app installer). Once MPKG installer is installed you can copy files of type *.pkg to the root folder of your SD card, then install them by opening the File Manager application on the phone, go to the system folder, tap and hold the stylus on the *.pkg file and a small menu should pop up. Choose 'open with' and then choose the "MPKG" app. This will install the app and let you see it and run it from the phones Application Launcher

Linloader - this is a program used to run shell scripts. Most of these scripts have the extension **.lin. Once linloader is installed these shell scripts are run by opening the File Manager application on the phone, go to the folder where you have the shell script you want to run, click and hold, choose 'open with' and then choose the "loader" app.

How to Install MPKG

Get the MPKG Installer “Mpkg_A1200.rar” file from search it in Google then do the following:
Unrar the file. You will see it consists of a folder called .system.
Plug in the phone, then use Windows Explorer to copy the entire old .system folder from the SD card to a safe place on your PC (so can recover if necessary). [If you can not see the .system file then you do not have “View hidden files” on].
Copy the entire .system folder from the rar file to replace the one on your SD card.
Unplug the phone from the PC and restart it. You should see a MPKG icon under Application Launcher on your phone.
You NEVER run this program directly by clicking it - rather you open other files that have an extension of *.pkg by holding the stylus on those files until a small menu displays. Select “Open With” and select MPKG. You should hear a bell indicating the program has loaded.
[If you have already installed some programs on your SD card before installing MPKG then you should uninstall then before doing the above otherwise you will not be able to access them anymore (phone doesn't find them). You can reinstall them when complete]

It has been verified that this method works for the following firmware:
• .08p
• .08p plus
• .53p
• .59p
It is not thought to work if you have 44p or 25p.

If when you install MPKG, and then you copy a xxxx.pkg file to your phone and try to open it wiht MPKG, but get the error message "Invalid application" - then it did not install properly. Try the other install method listed below.

How to Install Linloader

This is the program that users have the most problems getting to install correctly - which may have to do with the version of firmware running on the phone. As a result there are several different methods for installing it described in the threads - as well as different versions of the mpkg and linloader download file that people say to use. The method I described work for me (on Bint 08p plus). An alternate method is also described.

MPKG must be installed first as you need mpkg to install linloader.
- Download the loader_A1200.pkg file
- Copy the file to the root folder of your SD card (Make sure extension says .pkg - not .mpkg)
- Unplug the phone from the PC then use the phone's File Manager to find the file.
- Hold the stylus on the file until a small menu displays. Select “Open With” and choose MPKG. - - You should hear a bell indicating the program has loaded.
- Turn the phone off and on and you should see a Loader icon (a yellow smiley) appearing under - Application Launcher.
- Alternate Method

This method seems to work if you have generic 08p.
Try a different MPKG installer - download the MKPG installer attached in topic "Yan's mkpg and linloader.mkpg installer"
Follow the instruction given above to install it.
There is a modified mkpg.lin file attached in topic "Volume Increase". Copy that file and overwrite the mkpg.lin on your phone which is from yan's mkpg installer. (Not sure this step is necessary - but can not hurt!!)
Download the LinLoader.mkpg attached in topic "Yan's mkpg and linloader installer".
Rename LinLoader.mkpg to LinLoader.pkg before copying it to your SD card.
Follow steps 3-5 as above

Modding Motorola RIZR With Flash Backup 3

In this post i'll shared with u how to Modding/flashing Motorola Rizr3 phone using Flash & Backup 3.Most important thing to me, before reflashing my phone was, taking a backup of my very essential data(SMS, PhoneBook, Calendar).

Important for do this :
Flash & Backup 3
SHX file to flash

Before flashing ANYTHING, you should ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS make a backup of your stock files. This way, you are able to revive your phone if you brick it. A full backup can be acheived by using a REGISTERED version of Flash & Backup 3. In order to register it, you must visit http://www.motorola-tools.com/index.php and purchase your copy of FB3.

I will be flashing InsecureSpike's Remix DRM. Once you have all the files that you need, power on your phone in Bootloader mode. (# and * while pressing power)

Open Flash & Backup 3.

1. Make sure your Active phone profile is Motorola RIZR_Z3
2. Also make sure you are on the Write Data screen
3. Once the first two are confirmed, choose Select File.

Navigate to where you saved the SHX file to be flashed. In my case, I saved mine to the desktop so I could easily find it later.

Once you select it, you will have a screen like the one below. If you're flashing a drm, there will only be one thing in the red box that I've made. Now select Write Data from the bottom right corner.

Flash & Backup will begin the flashing process. You will get a screen like this one while it's flashing. Depending on the size of the file you're using, this screen may stay longer.

Once you're done, Flash & Backup 3 will say "Operation Done" and you will be able to close the little window.

when it's done flashing, my phone just shuts off. Yours may restart or just shut off like mine does. Just turn it back on and you should be okay.

That's Flashing/Flexing in a nutshell.

Attention: Most K1 fonts and DRMs can also be flashed to the RIZR Z3.
