summer favorites

2014-06-10T09:09:00.000-04:00

A little line up of current summer favorites: destroyed denim shorts, white cotton shirt, white jeans, silk camis in black and white, and silk bralette. The shirt is actually Michael's or better to say was Michael's. After borrowing it from him God knows how many times, he said I can have it and it's all mine... ta-da! Without any doubts it's the best white shirt I have. You could see it in the previous post.

What are your favorite pieces for summer?

2014-06-05T12:22:00.000-04:00

Hey guys! It's been a while since my last post but I'm so happy to be back to the blogging world! I hope you all are doing great and ready for summer.

Sharing some of the pictures from our road trip to Santa Barbara which we took while in California. Santa Barbara is such a wonderful, wonderful place! It looked exactly as I always imagined it, may be it looked even more beautiful in real life! We spent an entire day strolling around, drinking frappuccinos and eating cherries and strawberries from the local farmers market. While at the farmers market, Michael got me a bouquet of roses (it was my birthday!) which I brought all the way home to the East Coast.

Hope you guys enjoy the pictures and I'll talk to to you soon! xo

p.s. this song has been stuck in my head for a few days now

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas! Hope you get to spend this wonderful holiday with your loved ones. And just in case you were dreaming of a White Christmas, here are some pictures for you from our recent ski trips.

Have a beautiful day! xo

Christmas time in NYC

2013-12-18T07:00:00.000-05:00

Good morning, loves! I managed to go to NYC over the weekend and I'm so glad I did! Spent most of the time in the West Village, had the best hot chocolate at Cafe Minerva and a very delicious brunch at Jeffrey's Grocery (such a great place, highly recommend). On Sunday we went skiing (it was the third week in a row) and I can't wait until this weekend to be on the slopes again. I love that December surprised us with some early snow this year. You can't imagine how happy I get when it's snowing!.. xo

welcome December!

2013-12-06T11:59:00.002-05:00

Hey there! It's that time of the year again. I can't believe we have just a tiny bit time left until Christmas and New Year's! I sometimes get overwhelmed thinking how many things there are to accomplish before this year waves good bye.

December couldn't have started better, Michael and I celebrated Thanksgiving holiday on the slopes skiing (me) and snowboarding (him) in Snowshoe, WV. It was snowing there the day before Thanksgiving, so the entire place looked like a winter wonderland! It was cold, sunny, everything was covered in snow and I couldn't be happier about it! We both agreed that it was our best Thanksgiving. I hope you all had a great holiday!

*outtakes from my Instagram, as you can see I'm totally into winter holidays mood!

November

2013-11-11T12:33:00.002-05:00

October was the busiest month ever (in terms of work). Most likely, the busiest month in my entire life. Never thought working 7 days a week would feel so rewarding but I guess that's the case when you are self-employed. You see things in a different perspective.

I still have a bunch of fall pictures from October to upload, I hope to do so either this or next week. And by the way, it's been 3 years since I started this blog. I sometime feel bad that it has been abondoned lately but I'm grateful to all of you who keeps coming here. Thank you for liking and sharing the pictures, for sweet comments and kind emails. Sending many hugs and kisses your way.

sunday morning

2013-10-06T11:22:00.000-04:00

Having a perfect Sunday morning here with windows wide open, croissants baking and this song playing in the background. Love that it still feels like summer (87°F/30°C today), so I probably will be going to get some iced caramel macchiato later on. Enjoy your day wherever you are! xo

Ta-da! Finally, finally publishing a new post. This past weekend Michael and I took a road trip to the beach (probably the last trip to the beach this year). The weather was amazing — sunny and warm, so we enjoyed every minute of the last summer days.

How have you been? Hope all is well! xo

*literally falling asleep as I'm typing this, it's 3:48am! Gotta get some sleep.

I hope your summer was filled with lots of sunshine, love and joy! Mine has been quite busy but fun at the same time. Here are a few snaps before they go into untitled folder: 1), 6) countryside — my favorite place to unwind 2) Cosmos and Irish Bells from our little garden 3) delicious peaches at the farmer's market 4) Atlantic 5) a field of zinnias at the favorite farm in Maryland.

summer, continued

2013-08-21T13:15:00.000-04:00

Looks like summer is back in town. August has been rather chilly and I got to wear some of the clothes that I would normally wear in September-October (and I wasn't too happy about it). But it does feel like summer today — hot, sunny and humid, so I guess denim cut offs will be more weather appropriate.

By the way, don't forget to hashtag images with your outfits #HMShopOnlineXX (XX stands for your state, Washingtonians make sure to hashtag #HMShopOnlineDC) since today is the last you can enter 50 States of Fashion Contest to win an online shopping spree on hm.com and a trip to NYC!

*off to water flowers in the garden. I became such a gardener this summer! ;)

Beyond excited about this weekend. Not that I have anything special planned, just an idea of sleeping in makes me absolutely happy. I'm telling you, as I get older, it takes less to make me happy. I have yet to figure out if it's a good thing. Have a nice weekend! xo

Look what arrived from H&M yesterday — the cutest pajamas ever! Asking myself why I didn't order this one as well? Just to remind you H&M now has online store, be sure to check it out!

Also, don't forget to share your looks on Instagram using hashtag #HMShopOnlineXX (XX - your home state). Just by doing this you can win a trip to NYC and a shopping spree of $1,000!

crape myrtle

2013-08-12T07:00:00.000-04:00

Happy Monday! I'm trying to boost my energy with some coffee (which I hope will help at some point) since I got to sleep only for a few hours before the alarm went off. Why do I always put off all my projects until midnight?.. Anyway, the weekend was beautiful and I hope yours was too. xo

p.s. our neighborhood is full of crape myrtle blossoms, the most colorful and long lasting blossoms ever.

Spent Sunday afternoon at the beautiful DelFosse Vineyards and Winery in Virginia. It's a perfect place not only for wine tasting but for escaping the craziness of everyday life. Just pour some wine, sit back, relax and enjoy the serenity of the gorgeous vineyards hidden away from the big cities and roads. The remote location — that's what I truly love about this place. Seriously, will you ever visit and buy something from vineyards and farms located along the highways? It just doesn't make sense, does it?

Hope your week is off to a great start! xo

Well, hello there! Long time no see. Had a much needed break from blogging and social networking, but guess what?! I'm back. Thanks for all the emails, features and comments -- I will get back to all of you this week.

How is your summer going so far? Hope it's a good one! Talk to you soon. xo

хo

Summer Is Here!

2013-06-25T12:13:00.000-04:00

Ah, all the wonderful things that summer brings: 1) Snapdragons. Nothings says summer to me like these simple pretty flowers. When I was little and lived with my parents in a tiny village in Russia, I had my own space in the garden where I was growing flowers. The very first flowers I planted were the snapdragons. 2) "See the curtains hangin' in the window in the evenin' on a Friday night..." 3) Peonies. 4) Chamomiles - the sweetest flowers ever. 5) Peonies everywhere! I probably will never get enough of these luscious things. 6) Farm trips! 7) Hydrangea in my J.Crew tote. Pretty much the only bag I carry every single day during summer. 8) Bike rides. 9) Lazy weekend mornings that turn into afternoons.

Hope you are enjoying your summer! xo

p.s. Happy Birthday to the wisest, kindest and the most inspiring person in my life - my beautiful mom! I love you more than anything!!!

Miami

2013-06-21T07:00:00.000-04:00

I finally managed to put together somewhat of a travel photo diary of our stay in Miami. Miami, as usual, was sunny, bright and beautiful. Some new places and things discovered: the absolutely gorgeous Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, Van Dyke Café and the delicious Cuban cuisine which we absolutely fell in love with! (don't remember the name of the restaurant we had it at) Oh, we also had the eye-popping Cuban coffee. It is seriously eye-popping! And I'm not kidding.

The charming Española Way village has always been my favorite, I'm so glad we managed to spend some time there as well. It's incredibly lovely.

Hope you'll enjoy the photos. Have a great day! xo

White & Blue

Blue and white combination is my favorite for summer. I probably wear the blue shirts way too often, and some people might think I don't change my clothes at all. Oh well! The most recent addition to my wardrobe is this Zara blouse which feels like you are wrapped around in a silky cloud. It's that good!

I didn't realize it's Friday until now so I'm wishing all of you a beautiful and relaxing weekend! xo

Summer Weekend

2013-06-11T11:10:00.000-04:00

Spent Sunday morning riding the bike and picking up fresh flowers. The streets were empty and quiet and I was the happiest girl roaming around with a basket full of chamomiles. Later in the afternoon we headed to our favorite farm to pick some fresh strawberries and to walk around and enjoy the serene beauty of the countryside. Best weekend ever. Hope you enjoyed yours as well.

Have a nice and productive week! xo

I Left My Heart in Key West

2013-06-05T07:00:00.000-04:00

I left my heart in Key West. Right there among the brightest blooms and bluest waters. It's no surprise this beautiful tropical town has been an inspiration for so many writers and artists -- it is absolutely magical. And those of you who have been there, will most likely agree.

I hope everything is going well with you, sweets! xo

Caribbean Blue

2013-05-29T12:20:00.000-04:00

The last few days have been absolutely relaxing, dreamy and full of adventures. It all started on Saturday, we arrived in Miami early in the morning and spent the entire day exploring this beautiful city. I haven't been in Miami for 4 years and was beyond excited to be here with Michael to show him around (he has never been here before), but more about Miami in the next post. On Sunday afternoon we headed to Key West. We couldn't even imagine how much we would love this gorgeous island. It feels like the place you always dreamed about and now your dream came true.

Monday was spent in the Dry Tortugas, it took us 2 hours to get there from Key West. It's one of those places that takes your breath away (all pictures in this post are from the Dry Tortugas), a tiny island surrounded by the most beautiful shades of blue I've ever seen. How can the water be so blue?! We first explored the massive fort and then spent the rest of the day snorkeling which was the most exciting part! We saw hundreds and hundreds of fish big and small, and I even tried to catch some of them, silly me. Being underwater myself, being able to see the captivating beauty of under the sea was an absolutely unforgettable experience considering that I only saw the underwater world on the Discovery channel. I'm so grateful for this experience! I have a bunch of other pictures I want to share with you but let's wait until next post. I hope you can feel the serenity of this beautiful place through the pictures.

Sending you sunshine kisses! :)
