It feels like summer has arrived and I couldn't be happier. I simply can't wait for picnics with friends, ocean getaways, boat rides, breakfasts and lunches al fresco. Can't wait to go to my favorite farm to pick fresh flowers, fruits and vegetables, to have a crab feast in our backyard, to lie in the grass with my sunglasses and headphones on and to eat watermelons every day :) Hope you've been well, loves, and as excited about hot summer days as I am! xo

In Full Bloom

A little round up of this year's spring blooms. I must say spring arrived so late and has been the coldest I can remember since I've been here, in the States. I guess this delay made us appreciate the beauty of the spring season even more. So here we go -- a mix of various blossoms and greenery in Georgetown and around DC, and the unknown fruits and fairy-tale flower installations at Longwood Gardens which we visited back in March. They had the Orchid Extravaganza going on at that time which was spectacular! I strongly encourage my Maryland, Virginia and DC readers (and everyone else of course!) to visit this gorgeous place. It will take your breath away, I promise! It's about 2 hour drive from DC.

Hello, loves! It's been a while, hasn't it? So many things happened in the last couple of weeks. One of them is our move to a new place. Though we still miss our lovely apartment, the new place feels like home already. I love the abundance of natural light in the house and our sunny backyard. And guess what? I already started planting some of the flowers there :) Oh, have you noticed - I cut my hair! Honestly, this haircut was much needed.

It's Cherry Blossom Time

Despite the hectic schedule during the week, Michael and I managed to go to see the cherry blossoms early Thursday morning. Needless to say how happy I was to see all the gorgeous blooming trees around the Tidal Basin. The weather has been absolutely incredible this week, and I got to wear my new J. Crew dress. Only later I realized that the lacy flowers on my dress look absolutely identical to the flowers on the cherry trees! What a coincidence.

Hello, loves! Can you tell I stole yet another item from my boyfriend's closet? This J.Crew V-neck sweater is perfectly slouchy and soft, and I love wearing it for cozy breakfasts as well as for running errands.

Life has been so busy in a best way possible, and I couldn't be happier. Can't devote much time to blogging though but I'll try to keep you updated. Plus I'm beyond excited about the gorgeous spring weather that has finally arrived -- sunshine, 70F and blossoms everywhere. As I'm writing this post, the door to our patio is wide open and I can hear the birds chirping their silly songs. Welcome, Spring! We've been waiting for you.

At last we got a couple of days of spring weather. It didn't last long and it's raining today but I surely enjoyed every single bit of it. As you can see, I'm already transitioning from the dull outfits I wore most of winter to oh-so-loved neutrals and pastels.

It's Friday and the current forecast looks very promising for a pleasantly warm weather this weekend, so excited not to wear my winter coat anymore! Plus today is March 8th (International Women's Day) which is a huge holiday back home and I have a fresh bouquet of flowers on my desk to celebrate this special day. You will not believe the amount of flowers you would see on the streets of Russian towns today! All the boys (dads, brothers, granddads, boyfriends, husbands) give flowers (gifts are optional but flowers are a must!) to their girls on this day. The air is infused with the gentle scent of freshly cut tulips and roses anywhere you go, can you imagine that? I truly miss this beautiful holiday every year so much.

Пятница, 8-е Марта, прогноз погоды на выходные выглядит наилучшим образом, и у нас сегодня праздничный ужин. Вот оно - состояние счастья, обычного человеческого счастья от которого так тепло и радостно на душе. Очень-очень скучаю по тому, как мы отмечаем 8 Марта дома, в России, т.к. в Америке его не отмечают совершенно. Но мои американские подруги уже знают об этом особенном дне, мы с моей сербской подругой Тамарой (которая тоже знает и любит этот праздник) проводили ликвидацию безграмотности несколько лет назад по этому поводу :) И ещё у нас дома свежий букет, и вы ни за что не догадаетесь из каких цветов (нет, не пионы!).

С 8 Марта, дорогие мои! Желаю вам чудесного весеннего настроения, любви и добра! Отличных всем выходных! хо

I've missed you guys. And I absolutely loved reading your feedback while being absent from the blogging world. Your messages totally brightened up my world to be honest. I probably haven't been that sick since I was 10. After a week spent in bed, one day I felt so much better and decided to spend the day running errands and catching up on things I missed. That wasn't a smart idea at all since I crashed for another week after that. I'm finally back on track and so ready for spring! Hopefully we'll get some warm weather and sunshine next week, it's been too cold and gloomy these last days.

Cozy Sunday

Sunday was very casual in the best way possible: we cleaned the apartment, did the laundry and had sushi afterwards. We did some grocery shopping after that and headed to a friends house. The entire evening was spent there with lots of delicious food, hot tea and great laughs. I love such impromptu gatherings, somehow they happen to be the best. Hope you all had a great weekend, wishing you a successful week ahead! xo

Back Together

It feels so amazing to have my boyfriend back. After 2,5 weeks of separation (due to his travels) I feel so grateful to have him back in my life. From the moment I saw his smile at the airport everything around became so much brighter and happier. I'm waking up every day now and feeling like it's Valentine's Day. Just wanted to share my happy state of mind with you lovelies.

Now you know why there weren't any outfit posts for a while. I want to thank every single one of you for your patience, for the sweetest messages and for sticking around. You guys (along with my boyfriend) are the best. And I mean it.

p.s. pictures taken by Michael yesterday. He was wearing mittens while taking these pictures. Not gloves, mittens! Because it was freezing. I had to unzip my jacket and pretend that freezing temperatures and gusty wind didn't bother me at all. xo

Безумно счастлива, что любимый человек наконец-то дома. После 2,5 недель разлуки (он ездил в гости к родителям) я так рада, что мы снова вместе. 8 am. It's so cold, dark and rainy outside that I don't feel like stepping out today at all (though I need to). It feels good to be all cuddled up in a cozy fuzzy bathrobe drinking hot tea with lemon while a bunch of the delicate crispy white ranunculus brighten up our kitchen on this gloomy morning. I was at Trader Joe's on Saturday and almost squealed with excitement walking by the colorful bunches of ranunculus at the flower section. I always get too excited when flower sections of the local stores have a nice selection of blooms - the more the merrier.

p.s. I know you guys would rather see an outfit post but my babe (aka my photographer) has been busy snowboarding in a far away land for more than two weeks now. The good thing is he's coming back this Sunday. Sounds promising, doesn't it?

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you are spending this wonderful holiday with your loved ones. Michael and I had a lovely cozy dinner on Christmas Eve followed by couple of Christmas movies to watch. And can you believe it was snowing here on Christmas Eve?! An absolutely magical sight! As soon as I saw the snowflakes I ran outside to twirl in the snow :) Those of you who follow me on Instagram and Facebook, already know that we spent Sunday in NYC (which was amazing to say the least) and below are a few pictures from the trip.

Holiday Table Decor

Holiday table setting from last night's dinner. It was so fun and easy to do that I decided to share it with you guys. A while ago, I found these pinecones at the park and brought a whole bunch home hoping they will be useful for holiday decorations. So here they are! To make them look more holiday-friendly, I sprayed a half of them with the gold paint. To be honest, I got carried away by that shiny paint and sprayed a few other things that I probably shouldn't have sprayed ;)

Вчера с таким вдохновением накрывала на стол и решила, что обязательно нужно поделиться фотографиями, вдруг и вы вдохновитесь празднично накрыть стол к грядущим праздникам? Даже не помню, когда я принесла эти шишки из парка, но была уверена, что они пригодятся для украшений на Рождество и Новый год. Ну вот и пригодились! Я их покрасила слоем золотой краски, чтобы придать праздничности. Сказать по правде, краской я немного увлеклась и покрасила некоторые вещи, которые красить не стоило ;)

My berry lips coordinate with all the decorations today so I'm feeling quite festive. Not that I did it on purpose, I was rather trying to brighten up this gloomy day with a little splash of color. And I had no doubts that red lips go perfectly with a chunky knit and messy hair. xo

Сдаётся мне красный оттенок помады идеально сочетается с безразмерными зимними свитерами и беспорядком на голове (как раз мой случай). хо
