Trippers Idol now on its 4th Year

Trippers Idol was created based on the British show Pop Idol and American idol, The event debuted in 2010 in Parliament Bar, Pasay City and was a big success with the members.

The eligible contestants must be a current member with at least 2 GEB and 1 SEB (Outreach) with 90 Days of membership prior to the Elimination date. Rule of exemption/changes in eligibility applies with the approval of the National Board and or by the National President.

The contestants must be legal Philippine Citizen and must not hold any current recording or talent representation contract by the elimination in previous years by the audition.

Contestants go through at least two set of cut. The first is a brief audition with a few other contestants in front of selectors which may include judges. Successful auditions then sing in front of live audience during the elimination round where more may be cut, and only then can they proceed to FINALS.

To give their members the experience of watching stand-up comedy, a "Comedy Bar" themed MEB was successfully held last October 19, 2014 at Romano's Bar on Ortigas extension Junction Cainta Rizal.

The one of a kind MEB was participated in by NCR Globe 3 officers, members and guests. A total of 38 enjoyed audiences attended the event.

Professional Stand up comedians were hired for the event showcasing their slapsticks, humor and sattire!

The program also included Globe 3's monthly awards in recognition to their members' contribution and effort in making their house outstanding and successful.

TPH Pampanga brings you The Bekivoice of Pampanga Season 1

In line with their Monthly Eye-Ball (MEB), The Bekivoice of Pampanga Season 1 was held last September 27 at Mommy Liways, Balibago, Angeles City Pampanga.

The event was attended by TPH Pampanga Members and Officers and aimed at showcasing the talents of kapampangan and to strengthen camaraderie among the group.

Miss Gay Lotto Season 2 was also part of the program and culminates with an awarding of Certificate of Appreciation to exemplary members.

To promote Camaraderie amongst the 4 Houses and external Guests, a BIKINI CONTEST was held last September 18 at Aqua Boy Garden & Resort.

With a total of 117 attendees, the event was spearheaded by G7, G9, East, QC, officers and members including NOM/COMM.

A boodle fight and some cocktails highlights the event shared by the 4 houses. The event was made possible by Wowie Sytangco for his creation and the Quezon City Pride Council.

GLOBE MANILA - Party with KIDS!

The event - GMNL's solo outreach event - a birthday bash celebration of ED Kyzer and pre anniversary special aims to give every child under the care of Silong Tanglaw to feel that they are important and to give them a reason to smile.

This event also aims to celebrate the birthday ED Kyzer in a very special way. It was held last October 19 at Silong Tanglaw Foundation, Araneta Ave, Quezon City.

The event highlights kiddie games where kids enjoyed and played with incalculable amount of joy and laughter,handover of donations to the foundation, the special performance of the kids for Kyzer and for Trippers Phillipines and a simple lunch which the kids and Trippers enjoyed together.

It was made possible through the donation of ED Kyzer Friends.

“Life Begins at 40” was held at Greenfields 1 Subdivision, Novaliches, QC last October 11, 2014, a back to back birthday celebration of SG Kimpoy and Mavis that was hosted by Commissioner for Individual Opportunities Joshua Tadoy and our house Events Directors Axcel and Burn.

The theme of the event was a typical debut style of celebration wherein SG Kimpoy dressed up like a debutante while Mavis as Escort.

We’ve come up with these kind of event to emphasize the true meaning of Life, that no matter what happen, Life must go on. We have to celebrate Life at its best together with our love ones. I believe that it’s not about the number of years of our existence in this very challenging world that matters most, but it’s on how we touch others lives.

On how we deal with the needy individuals of our society who truly needs help and assistance for their survival. We have 26 attendees from our house (members and officers), excluding guests from Harte Hanks Phils (officemates of Mavis), common friends and relatives.

TPH Bulacan spearheads "Handog-Kalinga"

Trippers Philippines Bulacan successfully held a gift giving charity work for the elder inmates of Bulacan Provincial Jail. last October 11, 2014. The event dubbed as "Handog Kalinga - Para kay Lolo at Lola" was participated by G4, G6, G9, Central and Primera Brigada Org.

A short program was held followed by lunch and kit distribution.

The elders were also asked to write their wishes for this coming yuletide season.

This event was made possible in full support by the members of Trippers Philippines Inc and Primera Brigada Org.

Community Technical Center (CTC) Program now on its 5th Batch

Trippers Philippines (TPH) has been named to be one of the beneficiaries of Harte Hanks Philippines, Inc Community Technical Center (CTC) Program. The said program is under the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in partnership with Microsoft that aims to provide digital literacy to communities for free. The program is helping communities live and thrive in the 21st century digital world. The digital literacy standard curriculum consists of five courses: Computer Basics, The Internet and the World Wide Web, Productivity Programs, Computer Security and Privacy, and Digital Lifestyle. Participants who pass all five courses will receive a Digital Literacy Certificate issued by Microsoft.

TPH was granted 125 seats on the free training at Harte Hanks Corporate Office for 2014. The slots were divided into five batches: The organization with its heart to the community extended the invite to other groups such as Freshmen University, TPH Member’s families and friends and other networks. The whole program will run for two consecutive days and is being facilitated by Harte Hanks volunteer trainers.

For TPH, since the first batch, it is Chef Neil Daquis who’s handling CTC for TPH until present. He is the most requested facilitator because of his vocal support to the LGBT Community. He’s able to use his own experience to tackle the basics of digital literacy and relating it to each course that makes the learning experience more fun and exciting. After all the five courses have been discussed, the participants will be required to take the online Microsoft online exam. Everyone is expected to pass at 80% rate.

Then, a small graduation will be conducted immediately after all participants have passed the exam. The activity is a program under the Office of the Commissioner on Individual Opportunity which aims to elevate member’s skills, high potential candidate, and increase the chance of getting a better job opportunity.

The main house assisting the program is the house of young beauties (G2) headed by the Secretary General (SG) Kimpoy. In total, we have 49 CTC graduates and we’re waiting to complete the last roster for batch 5 this coming November 22-23, 2014.

TPH speaks for TUP and Kansai University students

Technological University of the Philippines and Kansai University, Japan successfully held a Gender Equality Seminar last September 4 at IRTC Conference Hall, TUP MAnila Campus.

The event was spearheaded by Dr. Florida Labuguen, Gender & Development Head of TUP and Prof. Mayumi Kubota from Kansai University, Japan.

The Seminar was attended by TUP students, Trippers Philippines, LGBT organizations and 16 delegates from Kansai University. Raffy Aquino, co-founder of Equality Philippines gave an introduction about how the organization started and its mission and vision

According to Jeffklein Glodove, Co-Founder of Equality Philippines - a private organization that promotes & safeguard the rights of Filipino LGBT through social engagement, one of Professor Kubota's students send him a message through facebook trying to reach out to the LGBT community in the PHilippines for research purposes in aid for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. "Without a second thought, I immediately called and reach out to my colleagues and peers in the LGBT community and luckily, without batting an eyelash, they said YES to the invitation" Jeff klein added.

Jeffklein Glodove in his capacity as member of the Quezon City Pride Council Secretariat introduced the connections between Local Government and LGBT highlighting the Quezon City Pride Council to the participants, its mission, vision and values, composition, advocacies, officers and upcoming events.

Kate Montecarlo, President of the Association of Transgender in the Philippines gave a detailed account about Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression, brief background of the transgender movement in the country including its advocacies and aspirations to the LGBT community.

Rico, President of Trippers Philippines, delivered a presentation regarding LGBT Clans/Orgs and its contribution to nation building by highlighting their organizations advocacy, projects, charitable works and participation in the advancement of LGBT in the country.

The Seminar also includes presentations from Kansai University students detailing the current situation of LGBT in Japan.

A group discussion facilitated by the speakers was also conducted to check participants understanding on the issues of LGBT and on how they can share the knowledge to their own community.

The event wrapped up with the awarding of certificates to the distinguished guest and the participants from Japan.

Trippers Philippines 2014 Annual Awards

Garbed in black tuxedos and elegant gowns, Trippers Philippines held its 2014 Annual Awards in a red carpet gala held at 'the place that turns you on', Vizio Bar in Tomas Morato last March 29.

The event was attended by distinguished guests from Quezon City Pride Council and other big names in the LGBT scene.

The evening commenced with their Monthly awarding headed by the President, Rico Suave and followed by their most awaited awards night.

The Awards Night was sponsored by Flawless, Vivian Zapanta Pilates Studio, Barista Choi Coffee, Quezon City Pride Council, Transpinay of Antipolo, Mayor Herbert Bautista of Quezon City and musical scoring by Geisha Studios.

The evening also commemorates Trippers Philippines' 9th foundation anniversary. The event was hosted by Kboi Bernardo and Tyra Sytangco and was Directed by Jeff Klein.
