DIY Vintage Wedding Invitation

Hi Friends,

Today I would like to share with you the beautiful wedding invitation creation of Rita Hartsock . . .

The 5 ½” x 8 ½” invitations were printed on 110# Neenah Classic natural white cardstock Each card was hand dry embossed, the edges were inked and then the card was folded in half. The front of the card was overlaid with vellum printed with the Spectacular Printable’s image and a knotted ribbon.

Spectacular Printable’s image was brought into a Word doc; the width and length were adjusted to slightly overlap the wording on the invitation. Rita was able to print two overlays per 8 ½” x 11” vellum sheet.

They are also thinking of using this same motif printed on vellum as bands on jar candles for the reception.

Hi Friends,

I hope that your Thanksgiving celebration was all that you could hope for and more! My families gathering was better than I could have hoped for, since I had been ill with a giant sinus infection for the week and a half prior to the event. Sorry I'm a little late getting this freebie posted. We have been traveling between Texas and Tennessee, so I haven't been spending much time in front of the computer lately. I'll have lots of time for computing while DH is working the long hours that contract work seems to require. What else do I have to do in a motel in an unfamiliar city… Shop, that’s what else I could do! Perhaps it is better if I sit in front of the computer.

Well on to the business at hand… your freebie for this week. I have made for you a lovely textured fall background paper that will be a perfect complement to the colorful paper that I made for you a few weeks back. I hope that you have gotten that paper.

As I promised in the last post here is today’s freebie, a beautiful floral flourish that is inspired by pen flourishes used by clerks and bookkeepers in the 1800s, named for the elaborate flourishes of pen. Flourishes have become a popular design motif for just about everything. I’m giving you two digital flourishes that I have created, one in black that you can easily recolor in MS Word by following my tutorial (see the top tabs for the tutorial). The second one has a nice fall colored radial gradient. These flourishes PNG files with a transparent background, they are about 4 inches tall at 300 dpi.

Hello everyone!

This will be a short and sweet post since I am making a trip from Texas to Florida with my granddaughters to visit my husband who has been doing some contract work away from home. So I'm writing this before we leave and scheduling it to post on Sunday.

Today's freebie is a 12x12 piece of digital paper following in our fall theme. I hope you like it!

To download the digital paper:

1. Click on the fall paper image above, it will take you to Photobucket.

2. Click on the small image of the fall paper and a larger image of the paper will come up.

3. Put your curser up in the top left corner of the paper and a menu will appear.

4. Click on Download "original size".

I think you will be pleased with this quality of this paper. I have created it at a high resolution (300 dpi). You will never find any stretched or pixilation in my graphics.

This week it seems like the world has gone crazy! Uprisings, terrorist attacks, suicide bomber and the murders of diplomats around the world. Last week was the 11^th anniversary of 9/11, and still there is no peace. All this turmoil makes me want to lose myself in the creation of new art projects, so that I can be “too busy” to think about the pain in the world.

I can’t change the craziness of the world, so let’s focus on the positive rather than the negative. There are still things that we have to be thankful for: family, friends, love and the many other blessings we enjoy.

In the vein of blessings we have some Fall/Thanksgiving Sentiment Tags for you crafting pleasure this week.

These Sentiment Tags are PNG files (transparent background). To download it just click on the image of the tag and it will take you to the download located on the Photobucket server. To get the highest quality image be sure to click on the first image to bring up the tool bar that gives you the option of choosing to download the largest image.

The Sentiment Tags can be used much the same way traditional rubber stamps are used. Simply arrange and resize the images to the size you need, print and cut them out to use. You can even change the color of the tags in a word processing program. For step-by-step instruction on how to work with Digital Stamps click on the Tutorial Tabs at the top of the page.

I hope that you have been enjoying the romantic, antique styled blue and white paper and embellishments.

Our weather has cooled off here in Texas, the last couple of days it has only been in the eighties. I hope it lasts! But this is quite early for us to really be heading into fall. My son-in-law says that we have 4 seasons here... Almost summer, summer, still summer and Christmas. Lol! All this cool weather has put me in the mood for some fall, so I'm putting a temporary hold on the blue and white paper crafting supplies and turning to a piece of fall art. This week’s giveaway will be a scarecrow digital stamp created from an original drawing by my daughter-in-law Jen Norton.

To get the highest quality image besure to click on the first image to bring up the tool bar that gives you the option of choosing to download the largest image. You will find that this Digital Stamp is a crisp, clean image with a transparent background. You can piece it with scrapbooking papers or it can be used much the same way traditional rubber stamps are used. Yea, the computer is working again!

Having a problem with the old computer sure has let me know what a geek I have become when life as I know it suddenly changes because my computer is down. lol
Thank you to the in-home computer repairman for getting me up and running again. No thanks to the telephone tech support people who couldn’t seem to get a prepaid shipping box delivered to my house.

This week I have an embellishment that will look lovely on the last freebie of blue background paper. It is a spray of lace butterflies, use just one of them or use the whole spray of them, whatever suits you fancy.

Once again I’m using Photobucket to make this download available to you since it seemed to work so well last time. Just click on the image of the butterflies displayed on the blue and white paper and it will take you to the download. The butterflies are a PNG file with a clear background.
