Sammie's Llama Birthday Party!

Samantha loves animals...all animals, but she has been completely obsessed with Llamas for over a year now. So for her 4th birthday we decided to have a Llama Party. The day of her birthday party it rained like crazy, which is not a common occurrence here in Southern California. We were worried, but thank goodness Grandma works for a local high school and we were able to move the party indoors, and by the time the petting zoo arrived the rain gave us a little break. Samantha loved her party and even had the pleasure of meeting Tinkerbell the Llama!

We celebrated Julian's 9th birthday at Tag & Target in Lakewood, California. JD and his friends had a blast! This is a great location for any Nerf loving kid or adult. We rented out the arena for 2 hours and other than our personal Dark Side decor, Tag & Target handled ordering the food/drinks and hosting, which was awesome!

Sammie's Kitschy Camper Trailer 1st Birthday Party

On Saturday we celebrated Samantha's first birthday! I decided on a kitschy camper trailer theme because it just so adventurous and fun-loving, which reminds me a lot of Sammie's personality. She is an extremely adventurous, curious and happy baby. I cant thank my dad (best dad ever) enough for turning my idea of a mini camper trailer prop into an actual camper trailer playhouse, it is the coolest playhouse ever, and the kids, especially Samantha loved it! I also need to thank Veronica Luna of Luna Cakes for the amazing camper cake and cookies, she never fails to amaze me.

Last month Samantha was baptized in a small private ceremony at St. John Chrysostom Catholic Church by Monsignor Sal Pilato. We were so blessed that Msgr. Sal Pilato was able to baptize Samantha (he’s a very busy man). He officiated our wedding and also baptized JD, and we wanted to keep the tradition going. The ceremony was beautiful, and we were honored to have our close friends Alex, Angie, Veronica and Rene as Samantha’s Godparents. Following the ceremony we had a luncheon at our home, and then spent the entire afternoon and evening enjoying the company of our family and friends.

I can't believe this little lady is already 4 months old! She now weighs 13.9 pounds, and she measures 25 inches. Samantha can hold her head up, sits up with assistance, has begun turning over, and has discovered her voice (she screams at the top of her lungs for no apparent reason). Her personality is starting to show, and it's absolutely adorable!

Having a brand new tiny human being to care for and planning a birthday party can be stressful. So, this year we were thinking of skipping the birthday party trend and just heading to an amusement park for JD's 6th birthday... but JD had other plans! After having a blast at one of his classmates birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese's earlier this year, JD ask if he could have a party there too, and daddy and I thought why the heck not. When it came to the theme JD decided on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (he loves Leonardo), a fitting choice since they love pizza. Chuck E. Cheese's made party planning super easy, they did all the hard work, and we had our very own party coordinator to keep the party running smoothly. This was one of the easiest parties to plan, and JD and his friends had so much fun!

She was 7lbs 14oz and 20 inches long. We are completely in love with her, and look forward to sharing all her milestones and adventures with you!

Matryoshka Doll Nursery

As of today I am 38 weeks and 3 days pregnant, and according to my check-up yesterday our little princess will be here any day now!

I've been fascinated with Matryoshka Dolls (Russian Nesting Dolls) for a couple years now, so when we found out we were having a girl I thought it would be a perfect theme for her nursery! It wasn't an easy theme to work with, but I did manage to find some very adorable items...thank you Etsy.

I began working on Samantha's (we had her name picked out before we even knew she was a girl) nursery for a couple months now and although I doubt she'll actually be sleeping in it anytime soon (she has a co-sleeper in our room), it's pretty much ready for her!

How to get a free Breast Pump!

Yes you read that title correctly. I didn't believe it myself. I came across this Pin on Pinterest, and after reading the article I decided to check into it, and I was not disappointed.

The first thing I did after reading the article was call my insurance company, I have Blue Shield of California (HMO). I called the member number on the back of my card and asked customer service representative if breast pumps are covered under my insurance plan. The representative checked my plan and stated that I was covered by my plan for any breast pump up to $169. She then gave me a list of 5 approved vendors and their phone numbers (a few of them had websites too).

I did my research and decided to place my order with Yummy Mummy, their website is great and easy to navigate. I gave them all of my information including my medical insurance information online. A week later I received an email stating they were processing my order (this happens once your insurance is verified) and about a week after that I received a shipping confirmation and my pump arrived by UPS 4 days later. So, if you're in need of a breast pump, I highly recommend checking with your insurance company!

I'm 33 weeks pregnant!

I'm 33 weeks pregnant and I am happy to say that so far this pregnancy has been great. We are having a girl, and although we are super excited, I'm a bit nervous because it's just been me and the boys (hubby and JD) for the last 5 years. I've become very accustomed to super heroes, Legos and sword fights. I recently realized we only own two Disney princess movies, Brave (JD loves archery) and Tangled (Flynn Rider is awesome), oh and I can't remember the last time I played with a Barbie! But I will admit that shopping for a little girl is so much fun, I think she owns more dresses than I do at this point. I really can't wait meet our little princess and I'm pretty sure her Barbies will get along just fine with JD's action figures!
