A fake horse may have been helpful when it came to enemy soldiers breaching the city of Troy, but it didn't quite work for drugs entering New Zealand.

The country's police force has claimed its largest ever seizure of cocaine after a stash was discovered in a 400-Kilogram (881 pound) sculpture of a horse's head encrusted with diamante.

The shipment arrives in the country from Mexico in May, when customs officers discovered 35 bricks of cocaine worth an estimated street value of $10 Million, according to a statement Saturday from the New Zealand Police.

Authorities didn't horse around, and three unidentified men were charged Saturday. A 44 year old Mexican national and a 56 year old U.S national were arrested at Auckland international airport Friday evening and face drug importation and possession charges. A 29 year old Mexican national was arrested too and will face same charges.

Police said the seizure was much larger than usual, with an average of 250 grams (8.8 ounces) seized in a year.

Like many countries, importing or possessing cocaine in New Zealand comes with high penalties. This can result in life in jail. Though only the possession could carry a maximum of six months imprisonment where you pay a fine of $719.

YAY !! its Thursday again - a night to turn up day, that's what i call it ''turn up'' day, I am talking about Friday in case you are still wondering.

I have been MIA, its really been a close-fitting period, my work-load has since tripled, this is that time of the year -- arranging/getting reports for half year (Jan-June) -- updating mid-year data etc. That's one hella tight period of the year.

Anyways, work has been good and a lot to learn.

Last weekend I had the most hilarious day on Sunday. My neighbor had someone visiting from their village. I wont be surprised if he ends up marrying the girl that visited. He introduced us, I will just call her Amaka (not her real name) and all the Amaka's should not take it personal.

Sunday morning I set out for gym - My neighbor and Amaka were in my house before I left. Shortly, my neighbor left for the market, leaving only Amaka in my house, watching movie.

Few hours later I am back home, no light. Found Amaka sleeping on my couch, I jejely went straight to my room. Few minutes later I heard her yelping my name, I walked into the sitting room, she knelt down begging me to please forgive her, bewildered (you need to see my face) whats the problem I asked her, without any balk she kept impetrating for forgiveness, that I should please don't tell her Uncle (your husband you mean) insisting she answers me, she said '' Brother abeg when NEPA been take light the TV no gree off, it was making one kind noise (beeping sound) it suddenly made a loud noise and the thing off'' she continued ''Brother abeg its like your TV don burn'' at this point I literally laughed my a** out.

She doesn't know what a U.P.S is? Yes she doesn't. I told her I wont tell her supposed Uncle -- happy, she dashed out. The scenario can't stop playing in my head.

But most importantly, I learned something -- whatever you don't know is seemingly older than you. Don't let Ignorance put you on the wrong direction. BUT STILL BE YOU.

I latter called her, explained everything to her, she even mocked herself over the scenario. I am happy I taught her what a U.P.S means.

While on vacation with his family in Austria, this man went to go grab some cash from an ATM outside of St. Steven's cathedral in Vienna. As a safety precaution, the man tugged at the card reader for fear of scammers and found that the reader popped right off, revealing an expertly made card skimmer that was custom made for that specific ATM machine. This is the new skimming method for scammers, so beware.

Turkish government blocks social media in wake of airport attack

Shortly after the deadly terror attack at Istanbul's Atatürk Airport that killed several dozen people and injured scores more, reports began circulating that the Turkish government had blocked social media in the country.

According to Vocativ, the office of the Turkish Prime Minister instituted the ban on any visuals of the explosion for national security reasons.

Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan has long opposed the use of social media and promised to "eradicate" it. If nothing else, outsiders are familiar with the case involving the man who shared a meme comparing Erdogan to Lord of the Rings character Gollum.

But the issue has deeper, more disconcerting roots. In March 2015, Turkey's Constitutional Court passed a law that allowed the country's regulator "to ban content to secure the protection of life and private property, protection of national security and public order, prevention of crimes, and protection of public health without a prior court order''.

Istanbul airport explosions: 28 dead, 60 injured, Turkish official says.

At least 28 people have been killed and 60 others wounded in the attack on Istanbul Ataturk Airport in Turkey, according to Turkey's semi-official news agency Anadolu. The report says six of the wounded are in a critical condition.

A total of 49 ambulances were sent to the site. Turkey's Justice Minister Bekir Bozdag earlier said at least 10 people were killed and 20 others injured. The two suicide bombers were also killed. Bozdag said one attacker "first opened fire with a Kalashnikov then detonated himself" at the airport entrance.

In total two bombs exploded. One of them was located just outside the terminal on the pavement, the other was at the security gate at the entrance to the airport. Authorities said no bombs exploded within the airport building itself, according to the minister. A video posted to Twitter shows a view from a camera inside the airport terminal. A few dozen people are walking around when a bright flash and fireball erupt in the background.

A Turkish official told said that police fired shots at suspects near the international terminal in an effort to neutralize them. Videos posted on social media show travelers sitting on the airport floor. A man shouts, "Get down! Get down!" Someone cries as a gunshot rings out.

Buhari agrees to fund Jonathan govt’s job initiative, YouWin

The Federal Government is to consult with beneficiaries and other concerned parties on the restructuring and refocusing of the multi-billion Naira Youth Enterprise with Innovation in Nigeria (YouWin) programme, with the objective of injecting new ideas for its sustainability, the finance ministry has said.

The programme, initiated by the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2011 as part of the government’s job creation initiatives, provides grants to about 1200 people to start small businesses each year. It also made provisions for the training of entrepreneurs.

A statement from the ministry said 18, 000 young entrepreneurs were trained in various aspects of Small and Medium Enterprises management and business skills; and 3, 900 of them, including 1, 200 women, were each given non-repayable take-off grants for businesses of their choice ranging from N1 million up to a maximum of N10 million.

Beneficiaries who were yet to receive payment before the Jonathan government ended in 2015, had accused the Buhari government of abandoning the programme and refusing to finance their projects. But the finance ministry says the third edition of the programme, which is still running with 1,500 beneficiaries, has received N11.2 billion in funding, and so far grants totaling N7.4 billion have been disbursed to the awardees.

In June 2016 alone, the sum of N1.687 billion was paid to 638 awardees, the finance ministry’s statement signed by the spokesman, Salisu Danbatta, said. The statement said the Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, promised that the YouWin programme will be restructured to ensure efficiency, transparency and accountability in investing the capital grants given to the beneficiaries by the Federal Government.

Mrs. Adeosun confirmed that all FG commitments under the YouWIN programme will be fully met, but due diligence would be carried out on every beneficiary, using tools like the Bank Verification Number (BVN), and before disbursements.

The Federal Ministry of Finance, which has been running the programme from inception, has scheduled the consultation for July 22, in Abuja, where representatives of the beneficiaries drawn from the six-geo-political zones and other concerned parties would chart a way forward for the programme.

Tech giant Microsoft has made a $10,000 payout to a woman, after Windows 10 tried to automatically install on her Window 7 computer. Teri Goldstein, claims that Windows 10 attempted and failed to install itself on her work computer without her permission, according to The Seattle Times .

The owner of a travel agency in Sausalito, California, Goldstein claimed that the failed update left her computer unresponsive for days at a time. After trying to fix the problem with Microsoft's support team, she eventually sued the company for loss of earnings and the price of a new computer

After Microsoft dropped an appeal, reportedly to avoid further legal costs, Goldstein was eventually awarded $10,000 (£7,514). It is thought the outcome of the case could prompt other disgruntled Microsoft users to seek damages from the company.

Oritsefemi’s ex manager, Danku was arrested at a comedy show yesterday by Lagos State Police command.

“After months of hide and seek, the long arm of the law caught up with Danku last night and he had no hiding place. He was picked up by officers of the Nigerian Police force at the Muson centre on the red carpet of Pencil Unbroken event for theft, conspiracy and impersonation.”

Oritsefemi said that during the few hours of Danku’s arrest, he has been able to recover his car and they are presently working towards how all his money will be recovered from Danku. “Danku is presently at Zone 2, police command, Onikan, Lagos and during few hours of torture by the police, i have been able to recover my car [Acura MDX] but we are yet to recover all the money from him.” “However, we are filling a report to GTBank so they can give us his statement of account so we can full access to his account and know how I can withdraw all the money from him.” he added.

When asked about the exact amount Danku stole, he said, “I cannot account for all the money because it is too much. Everyone knows that i have performed at a lot of shows both within and outside Lagos, so he is owing me a lot of money” Oritsefemi also said even though all his property has been recovered from Danku, his former manager will still have to sign an undertaking that he would not attack him.

“He has a lot of people around him and I do not deal with criminals,” Oritse Femi was quoted as saying, adding, “He will have to sign an undertaking that he will not take my life because he has been threatening me and i appreciate my life.”

Court sends ex-Ministers Nenadi Usman, Fani-Kayode to prison

A Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered that two former ministers, Nenadi Usman, and Femi Fani-Kayode, be remanded till Friday when their bail applications would be heard.

The two ex-ministers as well as Danjuma Yusuf and a firm, Jointrust Dimensions Nigeria Limited, were on Tuesday arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on a 17-count charge bordering on conspiracy, stealing, corruption and making cash payments exceeding the amount authorized by law.

Mrs. Usman is a former minister of finance and director of finance of the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organization in the 2015 election. Mr. Fani-Kayode is a former aviation minister. He also served during the 2015 election as director media/publicity of the PDP Presidential Campaign Organization.

They are alleged to have stolen and illegally disbursed about N4.9 billion belonging to the Federal Government of Nigeria

Wendy Williams appeared to throw some subtle shade on Beyonce’s way following the superstar’s BET performance. The singer wowed the crowds when she opened the show with a powerful surprise rendition of Freedom with Kendrick Lamar.

But the singer then had to hop on a private plane to fly to London straight after, leaving her mum Tina Knowles to collect her award for Video of The Year. Her mum told the audience that the singer had a show in the UK, though the first Formation gig isn’t until 28 June. And speaking on Monday’s show, Wendy Williams addressed Bey ditching the bash early.

“It was really good [her performance]. Nobody knew Beyonce was going to be there but she showed up and then she had to leave right after her performance. In my mind she went with this ensemble on,” she said pointing to a picture of Sunday's outfit. "How normal is that life? On one hand it seems very glamorous. Made in China plane makes first commercial flight

China’s homegrown regional jet made its first commercial flight Tuesday, operator Chengdu Airlines said, after years of delays raised questions about the country’s ambitious plans for domestically-produced planes.

Chengdu Airlines flew the ARJ21 from its eponymous home base, the capital of the southwestern province of Sichuan, to the commercial hub Shanghai carrying 70 passengers. More than half were paying customers who were aware they were flying in a new plane, an airline spokesman told AFP.

The ARJ21 — which stands for Advanced Regional Jet for the 21st Century — will ferry flyers on the Chengdu-Shanghai route three times a week, he added. 14-year programme The inaugural flight was the culmination of a 14-year programme to make China a commercial aircraft manufacturer capable of competing with dominant foreign players Boeing and Airbus.

To understand this, just Imagine that you are using a year 2002 Toyota vehicle and you want to change the shock absorber and you purchase it it as a tokunbo, that means the part which was manufactured in 2002 has been used for probably 3 years and you are now purchasing it as a product in 2015 which interprets that the shock absorber is 13 years old, does it mean it is good or will last long? Where the problem lies for me with fairly used products, ‘Tokunbos’ is the fact that they are not safe.

The lifespan of fairly used products like that of there sub-standard counterparts can never be compared to getting new products from their genuine manufacturers.

This is the reason we are in this business to ensure that people get quality services for all money spent in the auto market in Nigeria. Convinced that he has all the know-how needed to transform the auto-part industry, Dairo revealed that he funded his idea with a start-up capital gotten from his personal savings and by sourcing funds from relatives, “believe me, it was not easy, pushing the dream to reality but overtime it paid off”, he said.
