Up first is the new exorcism film Prey for the Devil, featuring the world’s first ever female exorcist, as well as the 2022 re-adaptation of the book “The Hellbound Heart,” better known as Hellraiser, featuring the world’s first ever female Pinhead.

I’m sure this will all go smoothly. We’ve been referred to as a “train wreck” before but I’m pretty sure that’s just a turn of phrase… right?

For our film reviews, it is of course Week of the Vampire! We’ve got two very different films tonally, but both featuring bloodsuckers. Up first is the dramatic Byzantium, including a clandestine vampire organization tracking down a mother and daughter who could upend their entire master plan. Up next is the much more comedic The Night Watchmen, about four… night watchmen, attempting to do their duty as minimum wage security guards by protecting their coworkers from a gang of undead clowns.

So put on your cape, comb your widow’s peak, and rise from your tomb to listen to a bloody new episode of The Grave Plot Podcast! Blah blah-blah!

First, just to tease your palette, we’ve got some Real World Horror about a Polish vampire woman whose skeleton was discovered near Bydgoszcz. We then move on to the hors d’oeuvres, namely a lovely little assortment of Horror Business, including a sequel no one asked for, a spicy anthology film featuring a mix of Latin flavors, and some bite size Huluween treats. Finally you will find a fried remake to The Strangers, as well as a lead in to our main course.

For our film reviews, we watched the new Scout Taylor-Compton film The Long Night, about a mysterious history and a demonic cult. We also assess the latest Texas Chainsaw Massacre film and wonder if there’s any juice left to be squeezed out of that orange.

Is it a gaggle? – of bloodsuckers trying to take over their neighborhood in Vampires vs. the Bronx. We also discuss Eddie Murphy’s wig, Kadeem Hardison’s rotting corpse, and other such nonsense found in Vampire in Brooklyn.

But we can’t “fuggedabout” Horror Business! In Real World Horror, we take a look at a famous haunted house that is up for sale in a tiny Rhode Island hamlet. We then discuss even more haunted houses, but these ones are the fun kind that people build and charge you money to walk through so they can jump out and scare you. We follow that up with an update on Womp Stomp Films and their Friday the 13th fan film series, as well as examining the upcoming Let the Right One In TV series, a new Teen Wolf movie, and a sequel to the Polish slasher Nobody Sleeps in the Woods Tonight.

First up we talk about the resurrection thriller Wake Wood, a 2009 movie about a pagan ritual gone wrong. Who would have thought? We then review the supernatural comedy Extra Ordinary, featuring Will Forte as a Satan-worshipping music star and the ghost hunting duo that serves as his foil.

Oh yeah, we also drank a bunch. Because it’s St. Patrick’s Day.

Today we talk about David Cronenberg’s 1977 film Rabid as well as the recent remake by Jen & Sylvia Soska. To help us along the way are our old pal Max Zaleski and, for the first time, his wife Avalon. While we originally brought them on to talk about H.P. Lovecraft, they stayed along for the ride when we had to shift gears and we’re happy they did.

Tony and Sylas discuss the medicinal value of ghostbusting (or witcher-ing?), shed some light on the upcoming Walking Dead feature film and spin-off series, a posthumous literary effort from George Romero, Sam Raimi’s latest batch of Evil Dead smoke to blow up our asses, Mike Flanagan’s next project, a new Dracula-related TV series from the creator of Riverdale and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and news of the Andy Muschietti-helmed The Howling remake.

This year’s selection kicks things off with a Real World Horror story about the mythical Mothman. He’s overtaken Point Pleasant, now does he have his sights set on Chicago? In Horror Business, we discuss the new vampire/western movie coming to us courtesy of Glenn Danzig and starring one of the stars of Idle Hands. We also talk about a new Stephen King adaptation from Blumhouse, a Lovecraft film from the creators of “Game of Thrones,” and more content coming to Quibi. For our film reviews, we’ve got some holly jolly horror for you with a couple of frightfully festive films. First up is the family-reunion-gone-wrong film I Trapped the Devil, about a man who has a hostage in his basement that may or may not be the Dark Lord. From there we go on to discuss the Christmas zombie musical known as Anna and the Apocalypse. It’s a joyous holiday romp, filled with cheerful songs and hordes of undead hungry for human flesh.

Before we get down to business, we discuss the recent premiere of They Reach, the feature film debut of… us! We also discuss the upcoming Grave Plot Film Fest (tickets available now!), and the upcoming third Ghostbusters film, which is for some reason not just called “Ghostbusters 3.”

We kick off Horror Business with Real World Horror, discussing an unfortunate story about a death at a retirement home in Utah. However, that’s not the death that we’re interested in, it’s the dead body in the freezer!

We go on to talk about A Nightmare on Elm Street, and the possible reboot coming from Wes Craven’s estate. There are a few notable names being tossed around to take on Freddy’s glove and we tell you all about them.

We then talk about Universal trying to sneak the Dark Universe into our theaters, despite saying the whole thing was going in the trash (which is probably where it belongs). We have three such examples, including new versions of The Invisible Woman and Frankenstein, plus a feature film based around Renfield.

We close the segment out with a movie set in Washington, DC that might even be scarier than what’s going on there now. Director Fede Alvarez is set to make a film described as “The Shining in the White House.” That could be interesting.

For our film reviews, we talk about the vampire film The Shed, about a couple teens coming to terms with the bloodsucker living in their backyard. While we originally planned on reviewing Ready or Not, we were forced to call an audible and select the Sam Raimi/Alexander Aja alligator film Crawl.

Every year we talk about two Halloween-themed movies and yet we have never done any of the Halloween films. That ends today as we’ll be talking about the movie that EVERYBODY’S talking about, the brand new sequel… reboot… whatever the hell it is from Danny McBride and David Gordon Green.

We’ll also be talking about another much-discussed edition of the series, the one without Michael Myers, Halloween III: Season of the Witch. It’s developed a cult following in recent years, but is still somewhat of a hot button issue among many fans of the genre. Find out our thoughts now.

Today we let our Patreon patrons pick our movie reviews and the Kevins came through, for better or worse. First up was Kevin Nesgoda, who selected a made-for-TV miniseries based on a Stephen King book. No, it’s not IT, it’s The Langoliers. Three hours of Balki Bartokomous hamming it up among some bad CGI. Fun. Next up was Kevin Trent’s selection, Sleepaway Camp. This movie has earned itself a name along side some of the biggest names in horror. We discuss whether or not it deserves that distinction.

First up, though, is Horror Business. We discuss a very odd discovery in the streets of Philadelphia in Real World Horror. We then discuss the new director for the unnecessary remake of The Grudge, as well as two new films produced by Eli Roth, the Amityville film 1974 and the “extreme haunt” film Haunt. Speaking of extreme haunts, we also catch you up on The Houses that October Built 2, and wrap things up with some big news about the next season of Ash vs. Evil Dead.

In honor of the event, we busted out a six pack of Zima. That’s right, Zima’s back. From there things got a little crazy as we talked about “Chucky’s Bride” in Real World Horror, plus Horror Business stories on things like The Twilight Zone, Dracula, and Max Landis’s thoughts on his upcoming An American Werewolf in London remake. Ronnie told us about all the research he put into his books, including interviews with some of the biggest names in the genre. Speaking of rising from the grave, we kick off Horror Business today with a Real World Horror story about a Philadelphia lab trying to resurrect the dead. Seriously. This is a thing they’re trying to do. God save us all.

In our new Horror Business format, we bring you the top five stories (according to us) from around the genre. Today, that includes stories on The Exorcist, Day of the Dead, The Mummy, Puppet Master, and From Dusk Till Dawn. What fucking year is this? Not a single original franchise.

We also spoke with filmmaker, journalist, and owner of the website Broke Horror Fan, Alex DiVincenzo. Alex discusses horror collectibles as well as his short films The Horrors of Autocorrect and Trouser Snake and the upcoming feature Abyzou: The Taker of Children.

In our movie reviews, we discuss the movie Green Room, about a punk band trapped in a… green room… as a gang of Nazis refuse to let them leave. We wrap up with the film They’re Watching, about a Moldovan village and its inhabitants who… watch… stuff.

In our movie reviews, we examine the supernatural thriller The Other Side of the Door and the latest from writer/director Mike Flanagan, Hush. They’re both potentially difficult to get your eyeballs on, but is it worth it if you can? Listen and find out.

In our reviews, we discuss the latest from Eli Roth, Knock Knock. It’s a home invasion thriller about two beautiful women seducing and torturing the guy from Wyld Stallynz. Our second review is the meta horror-comedy slasher The Final Girls. Is it worth watching from a horror perspective? You’ll have to listen to find out.

We kick off this lengthy episode with our thoughts on the late Wes Craven. He was a legend and has left a Freddy Krueger sized hole in our hearts. In Horror Business, we discuss real world horror stories about a hooded figure in North Carolina leaving meat at playgrounds (UPDATE: mystery solved) and a real life blood rave in Amsterdam (using 1,300 gallons of blood and not the mere 13 gallons that Taylor says in the story). We then discuss a pair of acquisitions by FOX and Warner Brothers, as well as a new exorcism movie from the makers of Starry Eyes, a new graphic novel from John Carpenter, an animated series based on “Castlevania III,” and updates on “American Horror Story: Hotel.”

We then have a conversation with Ben Rock, creator and director of the web series “20 Seconds to Live.” This is longer than our usual interviews, but it’s chock-full of good stuff. Ben gets into his experiences in film school, working on The Blair Witch Project, and working with Adam Green and Tom Holland. You should definitely listen to this one.

We close things out with our reviews, and this time around we selected The Curse of Downers Grove, written by “American Psycho” scribe Bret Easton Ellis. Our reviews today cover a pair of movies about hauntings. Up first is the possession movie The Taking of Deborah Logan. Second is the new remake of the 1982 classic Poltergeist. Craig T. Nelson!

We went to the largest gathering of the macabre in the Pacific Northwest this weekend and we break down all the sights, sounds, and smells from the event.

We, unfortunately, didn’t get around to doing interviews this time, but luckily it’s because the event was so crowded. It’s great to see more people supporting the genre and we’ll take that over talking to some celebrities any day.

With that said, we tell you about some of the panels we saw, including the best movies of 2014, immortality as a plot device, Twin Peaks (featuring Sheryl Lee and Sherilynn Fenn), the Soska sisters, and Ken Foree. It’s time once again for a brand new episode of The Grave Plot Podcast. This is a special edition in honor of Cystic Fibrosis awareness month.

In today’s episode, we have good news and bad news in the world of television in Horror Business. We also interview Dr. Ron Gibson, the director of the Cystic Fibrosis Center at Seattle Children’s Hospital. He worked with Tony’s late brother and he gives us a ton of information on the disease and some exciting news about the work towards a cure.

Finally, we review the Arnold Schwarzenegger and Abigail Breslin-led zombie family drama Maggie (DVD/Blu Ray / VOD) as well as the Belgian camping horror Cub (DVD/Blu Ray).

We’re back with another episode for yous guys. In this week’s Horror Business, we tell you about Silent Hills, introduce you to the new Pennywise, and tell you what Clive Barker is doing with Creepy Pasta. This episode officially kicks off our Cystic Fibrosis awareness month coverage, and in honor of that we talk to CF awareness advocate, as well as well-known rapper and voice actor, mc chris. chris tells us all about his work to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, as well as digging a bit into his career both in music and TV. Oh, and we talk about The Babadook.

But wait! There’s more! We, of course, have two reviews for you and this time around it’s the meta (sorry, Tony) remake of The Town That Dreaded Sundown, as well as the werewolf movie without any werewolves, Late Phases.

As you know, this episode was originally supposed to air last week. However, due to some technical difficulties, we had to postpone it a week. We then re-recorded it, only to have a terrible clicking noise appear 20 minutes in and last throughout. It was even worse than the original, so we decided to try our best to edit the first take. It’s not pretty, but we didn’t want to leave you guys with nothing. So here it is.

In Horror Business, we discuss several rumors, including a potential Blair Witch 3 that may already be in production, Rob Zombie potentially penning an animated prequel to The Hills Have Eyes, and the theory of not one but two more Evil Dead movies being made. We delve into TV with discussions on two projects from Wes Craven, a long-gestating American Psycho series being discussed again, casting for Preacher, and one last hail Mary for Constantine.

We go on to review the newly released, yet made in 2012, movie from Eric England, Roadside. We also tackle the ridiculous, yet oddly compelling, Clown. So climb aboard and let’s ride this train straight to Hell.

In Horror Business, we’ve got some sad news about a few genre stars that recently passed, but it’s not all bad news. We’ve also got a new movie from the creator of Friday the 13th, a new monster movie being picked up by FOX, a collaboration from two big names, and rumors of a sequel to It Follows. We’ve also got TV news about Twin Peaks and an upcoming Suspiria show.

We also got a chance to talk to Fred Carlini of Bright Light Media, the company behind a new 80s horror based board game called Mixtape Massacre. The game looks and sounds incredibly bad ass and they are looking for funding via Kickstarter as we speak. So listen to the interview, check out the website, and make it happen!

In our reviews, we discuss the Canadian horror/comedy werewolf flick WolfCop as well as the zombie video game adaptation Dead Rising: Watchtower. We also review the short film El Gigante with Max Zaleski from Wrestling With Subtitles and The Wrestling Game. We kick off Horror Business by discussing Archie Horror, a new imprint of Archie Comics, as well as the next movie in the I Spit On Your Grave franchise. We then go on to discuss the upcoming Sharknado documentary, and answer all of the burning questions about that movie. We also talk about the “X Files” comeback, a new cannibal movie that’s NOT The Green Inferno, a pair of graphic novels from Legendary, and updates on Friday the 13th and Sleepaway Camp.

In our reviews, we have two movies that have been pretty highly anticipated. One is the first ever 4K horror movie, Muck, starring Kane Hodder. The other is the independent hit It Follows. Moving on to the world of fiction, we tell you about the reunion of Tristan Risk and Laurence Harvey, the reboot of The X-Files, the continuing saga of Friday the 13th, and an update on It. Furthermore, we discuss the Walking Dead companion series, a new zombie movie being helmed by a Backstreet Boy, and rumors of a remake of The Blob. Also, World War Z 2 is set to have a “clean slate,” whatever that means, The Green Inferno could finally see the light of day, The Crow loses its lead, The Strangers 2 is going to be a thing, and more Ghostbusters casting news.

We close out the show with our reviews. We start out with the horror-comedy-shlockfest Zombeavers, about a colony (we Googled it) of undead monster beavers who attack a group of girls in bikinis. Our second review is the cult-body-horror film Starry Eyes, one of the most acclaimed movies of 2014. Did we agree with that assessment? There’s only one way to find out and that’s to listen for yourself!

We kick things off today with a new Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde series that will feature action, adventure, and superheroes. I wish that was a joke. We go on to discuss just what the new Friday the 13th movie is (although we’re still not sure), as well as the Dark Tower movie/TV show combo.

From there, we discuss how and why a found footage movie would be 3D, why The Crow reboot is constantly fighting for its life, and the latest addition to the Universal monsters team. We also talk about the new horror movie coming from Spike Lee – yes, that Spike Lee – plus the sequel to a personal favorite of ours, Contracted.

We, once again, bring hell down upon AMC and The Walking Dead for their spoiling of the mid-season finale, as well as casting news on that show’s spin-off series. To close out Horror Business, we discuss some casting news, namely The Last of Us and the Lifetime series based on The Omen.

Our two movie reviews feature a pair of sequels. We kick things off with the WWE Films production of See No Evil 2, directed by the Soska twins and starring “The Big Red Monster,” Kane. Jacob Goodnight is back and he’s once again picking off all the pretty people. Our second review features some hardcore zombie-on-zombie action as the undead third reich returns in Dead Snow 2: Red vs Dead.

Following last year’s mini special review of ThanksKilling, we review the sequel, ThanksKilling 3. Turkie is back on a new rampage with new puppets, powdered wigs, and the Pluck Master 3000. We also reviewed Home Sweet Home, a 1981 slasher film about Body By Jake escaping from a mental institution and runs roughshod through a rag-tag group’s Thanksgiving celebration.

For our turkey day edition of Horror Business, we tackle the latest on the TV adaptation of Evil Dead. Speaking of Evil Dead, the team behind the remake has a new project called A Man in the Dark. In the latest edition of “They’re Remaking That? Really?” we discuss The Wolfman being remade yet again, only four years after the last time. This leads into a conversation about the entire Universal monster reboot scenario and why it’s doomed to fail.

We then move on to a trio of sequels, including Hocus Pocus 2, The Conjuring 2, and Insidious: Chapter 3. We also discuss the world of video games, namely a movie that dives into the Splatterhouse universe (bit.ly/Splatfilm), as well as the new slasher PC game Last Year (kickstarter.com/projects/lastyear/last-year-5-vs-1-multiplayer-survival-horror). For the first (and last) time ever, we decided to do a Drunken Cinema double-header. Here’s how I remember it going down; we had just finished our Evil Dead 2 Drunken Cinema. As I was walking to the bathroom, Tony said “shit, it’s only 10:30.” I responded with “Fuck it, let’s do another one!” Tony agreed, and… that’s about it.

While I’m sure it was fun at the time, the next day was hell on Earth.

The latest installment of Drunken Cinema is the Broken Lizard horror-comedy Club Dread. The latest cocktail of choice is Coconut Pete’s Margarita. Can you guess the secret ingredient?

• 2 ounces coconut puree, thawed
• 2 ounces anejo tequila
• 1 ounce lime juice
• 1/2 ounce triple sec
• Dash of simple syrup
• Crushed ice
• Lime slice, for garnish

Combine the coconut puree, tequila, lime juice, triple sec and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker with crushed ice. Shake for 10 seconds. Strain into a martini glass and garnish with a lime slice.

Today’s episode features a pair of reviews with demonic undertones. First, there is the hellish musical The Devil’s Carnival, from Darren Bousman, the man behind Saw II and Repo! The Genetic Opera. This is followed by the movie Horns, about a man who awakes to find mysterious horns growing out of his head and he must discover the truth in order to get rid of them.

Of course, before all that, we must take care of Horror Business. In our real-world horror stories, we discuss a North Carolina satanist who killed his neighbors in a sadistic ritual. It sounds like a movie, but it’s all too true. So, too, is the story out of India of a man who tortured his daughter’s rapist. Hot tongs, y’all… hot tongs.

In the world of fiction, we continue with our “They’re Remaking That? Really?” segment with Nosferatu (Kickstarter campaign). Speaking of remakes, we also discuss The Crow and Hellraiser. We also discuss the new directors for the spin off of The Walking Dead, Leatherface, and Outcast, which also found its lead actor. Speaking of TV shows, we discuss what main character could be missing from the Scream television series, and what actors will be joining American Horror Story.

We go on to discuss a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity featuring Jason Voorhees, Speaking of slashers, we tell you about the new slasher video game “Summer Camp.” We close with release dates for The Mummy, Zombeavers, Lazarus, and Digging Up the Marrow. So listen up and enjoy!

Taylor of Terror takes over lead hosting duties this time around, with SkeleTony off gallivanting around on the east coast with his new wife. In Tony’s place, however, is the newly dubbed “Carlos Muertos,” aka Carlos Rodela from the Video Game Break podcast.

Taylor and Carlos start things off with a bit of Halloween Horror Business, including a real-life story ripped right off the screen, with the story of Barrett Township in Pennsylvania cancelling Halloween because of a killer on the loose. The boys also discuss fictional killers such as Michael Myers, whose new film (tentatively titled) Halloween 3 has received a new script. Rob Zombie is not involved, will it be better or worse? We’ll see. Speaking of sequels, the 20-year-old Ice Cream Man is looking to continue its story, and they need your help. We also continue the new tradition known as “They’re Remaking That? Really?” with a discussion on what Eli Roth movie is being retold.

Speaking of Eli Roth, we also discuss the new TV show that Roth is producing, as well as directing the pilot for, “South of Hell.” While we’re on the subject of TV, we discuss “The Walking Dead” and “American Horror Story” and how those two worlds may be colliding. We close out Horror Business with a couple zombie stories, including a new movie from George Romero (but not the one you think), as well as more casting updates for Dead Rising: Watchtower.

For our reviews, we went a little different this time. Instead of doing movies, we decided to review haunted attractions. Carlos tells us about the scariest, as well as the funniest, haunts he’s ever been to, and Taylor regales stories from his time working at the King County Scaregrounds. Tony even calls in with some haunt reviews from the east coast. We close out with prerecorded reviews from Tony and Taylor, reviewing the Haunted Nightmare at the Nile, as well as the Georgetown Morgue.

As such, we present you with two werewolf movies, namely Skinwalkers and Dog Soldiers. While vastly different, the two movies are also very similar in that they both feature lycanthropic monsters. We give our take on both and give them a rating.

We then move on to the world of fiction, but stick with Dracula as we discuss how Dracula Untold is going to be the springboard for a whole new Universal Monsters world. We then move to discuss zombies, including The Walking Dead, the new Uwe Boll picture Anger of the Dead, the sequel to Zombieland, and updates on the movie adaptation of Dead Rising. We then discuss the future for the Soska twins, as well as the iOS game The Drowning. We move on to the return of the Twin Peaks, as well as updates on Amityville: The Awakening, The Purge becoming a trilogy, The Green Inferno, and Cannibal Holocaust. We close out with a ton of updates about the new Ghostbusters movie.

In celebration of the fanged creatures, we review Stake Land and the original Fright Night from 1985. We discuss vampire lore and how it has changed throughout the years. We even dive a little bit into the Fright Night remake.

Before we get to that, though, we must attend to Horror Business. We start out with a couple of stories about remakes, including the Americanization of the South Korean revenge flick I Saw The Devil as well as the remake of the 90s teen scream slasher flick I Know What You Did Last Summer. In the “TV is the new remake” portion of our show, we discuss the possibility of Saw coming to the small screen.

We then go on to discuss the new name for Paranormal Activity 5, which is The Ghost Dimension, for some reason. We go into the plot of the movie as well as the new due date, which is the old due date for Scouts vs. Zombies, which took it from Friday the 13th. It’s a whole game of musical release dates. Speaking of release dates, we tell you about a pair of movies that have been completely pulled from release.

We then discuss the upcoming sequel to the ORIGINAL I Spit On Your Grave from 1978. We then give you some more updates on both the next Friday the 13th movie, as well as the television show of the same name. Speaking of television, the Syfy network has a new movie coming out in the same vein as Sharknado. Finally, we introduce you to the newest members of GWAR.

Today’s episode is dedicated to Paris. Our first review is the just released found footage film As Above, So Below, about the secrets of the city’s underground catacombs. We follow that up with the abortion of a sequel known as An American Werewolf in Paris.

We also spoke with the writer and director of the film Infliction, Jack Thomas Smith. Jack told us about the film, and how it differs from other found footage movies. He also spoke about his previous works and what the future holds for him.

As you know by now, it wouldn’t be The Grave Plot Podcast without Horror Business. We start off with a couple of non-fiction stories, including the reveal of the identity of Jack the Ripper after over a hundred years. We also discuss yet another Slenderman related crime, which leads into a discussion about media hype and the panic it can cause. We move on to talk about the TV adaptation of the comic Preacher, being written by a curious duo. Speaking of TV, we discuss the spinoff of The Walking Dead as well as the third and final season of the Netflix original Hemlock Grove.

Next up on the agenda is the announcement of the next not just one, but two sequels for Terminator: Genisys, as well as why the horror-comedy Cooties is being delayed, and what Stephen King book is the next to be adapted. We also talk about the unusual promotional material being used for Kevin Smith’s Tusk and discuss the horror experience known as the Werewolf Hunting Experience. There’s also a new writer attached to The Ring 3 and the Dead Rising movie adaptation gets a director. There’s a couple of sequels being bandied about, including a third film in The Collector series and Rob Zombie is pondering the idea of another Devil’s Rejects.

Did someone say zombie? Because SpectreVision has picked up the rights to an “anthropological zombie movie” called Curse the Darkness. In addition, the Arnold Schwarzanegger zombie flick Maggie has been picked by Lionsgate and we break down the newest character on The Walking Dead.

In lieu of cutting down nets, Jason Voorhees cut down 20-somethings in celebration. We, on the other hand, celebrated the only way we know how; getting piss drunk and watching the damn thing.

In honor of this special episode, we offer you a killer (pun intended) drink recipe. Tonight’s cocktail is named after the star of the show, it’s called the Jason Voorhees.

• 1 1/2 ounces Single Malt Scotch
• 1/2 ounce Cream Sherry
• 1 ounce Ginger Simple Syrup
• 3/4 ounce Grenadine

Shake all ingredients, except grenadine, in an ice-filled shaker until well-chilled. Strain into an ice-filled Collins glass. Pour grenadine over the drink so it drips down. Garnish with slice of ginger dipped in grenadine.

We start the show off on a somber note, discussing the recent suicide of Robin Williams. Robin was a bright light in this world and we’re sad to see it go out. Speaking of trilogies, Blumhouse and Radius are set to release three movies from the Duplass brothers called Creep. We break it down.

Want the latest on the Evil Dead universe? Well so does everyone else, including Jane Levy, the star of the remake. Is there going to be a sequel? A TV show? No one knows for sure. What we do know is that it finally appears like we’ll be seeing Pride and Prejudice and Zombies hit the big screen. We tell you who’s in it and where it’s at in the process.

There’s also a pair of news stories about Resident Evil. The first is about a potential TV show called Arklay based on the series of games. The second is the news that the original GameCube version of the game is being remade in HD. Speaking of video games, we also bring you up to date on the new Silent Hills.

Finally, we tell you the latest casting updates for American Horror Story: Freakshow and tell you why we are no longer looking forward to The Green Inferno.

We then move on to the reviews. First up is The Purge: Anarchy, the sequel to 2013 movie about the one night a year where anything goes. The sequel is basically the same shit. Our second review is the new possession/crime/thriller film Deliver Us From Evil. It stars the Hulk and Jeff Winger and sparks a conversation about exorcisms in film.

We ease back into things like a warm bath. To kick off Horror Business, we discuss the passing of makeup legend Dick Smith. We then bring some old habits by discussing not one but two upcoming movies from writer/director Kevin Smith. We briefly catch up on the latest American Horror Story: Freak show news, then update you on the latest news concerning Gremlins. We then move on to Broadway and discuss the American premiere of the American Psycho musical. We also provide updates on Sinister 2, Goosebumps, 31, The Mummy, Knock Knock, and The Grasshopper Jungle. In addition to all that, we tell you about Evil Dead‘s move to the small screen, Bruce Campbell included.

Okay, so it’s not really that special, unless you count the fact that it’s our twentieth episode! Plus, we announce the winner of the first ever Remake Madness tournament! So I guess it is pretty damn special!

Our two movie reviews this episode are about family, as demented as they may sometimes be. Up first we have Torment, about a family who attacks another family after the first family moves into the other family’s home. Got that? The second selection features the long-awaited Michael vs. Jason matchup. Except, it’s not Michael vs. Jason. While Tyler Mane does play a character named Michael, it’s not the one from Haddonfield. And Derek Mears plays William, not Jason. Regardless, those two take the screen together for the first time in the film Compound Fracture.

Before we can get to that, though, we’ve got some Horror Business to take care of. We start off by catching you up on the Slender Man stabbings. We make the transition into the world of fiction gradually, introducing Through the Wormhole as it examines whether or not a zombie apocalypse could realistically happen. Speaking of zombies, we tell you the latest details about the new movie from Rob Zombie, 31. We then discuss the new trend in horror cinema, the re-remake, with The Omen being the latest victim. In the world of original remakes (is that a thing?), Japanese thriller Audition is getting adapted for American audiences. So that should be interesting. Or not.

Up next we dive into the world of home video, discussing the straight-to-video release of See No Evil 2 as well as the new anthology box set of The Exorcist series and the special edition release of Night Breed. We also discuss the new season of the Netflix original series Hemlock Grove. We finish it off by breaking down the trailer for Dracula Untold and tell you when you can expect to see Insidious: Chapter 3 hit theaters.

On top of all that, we also had the privilege of speaking to writer/director/actress Jessica Cameron. Jessica tells us how she got started in the business, how she came to start directing, the story behind Truth or Dare, updates on her new movie Save Yourself, and tales of hot tub trespassing. Moving from the small screen to the big screen, we talk about Pacific Rim 2, Leprechaun: Origins, Harbinger Down, Insidious: Chapter 3, Ghostbusters 3, This Isn’t A Movie (yes, it is), Paranormal Activity 5, Friday the 13th, and a film adaptation of the popular video game Dead Rising. Speaking of video games, we tell you about the upcoming sequel to Dead Island, appropriately titled Dead Island 2. We also tell you about some cool new horror figures coming from NECA and tell you how you can see Freddy Krueger in the burnt flesh one last time.

We also got a chance to chat with Hank and Wayne Thompson (no relation) of Eze As Pi Productions about their new project, a zombie movie through the eyes of children, called Too Young To Die. We also have two new movie reviews. The first is the latest from writer/director Ti West, The Sacrament. This movie is about a cult and, surprisingly, things go awry. The other is John Carpenter’s 1998 vampire film, Vampires. Get it? James Woods plays a vampire hunter who must take down the master vampire before he turns into an invincible vampire who vampires vampire vampire. Wait… what?

This episode took a lot of work to make. Enjoy the show.

Drunken Cinema is back with a vengeance. This time around we’re watching the 1987 classic from Sam Raimi and starring the incomparable Bruce Campbell, Evil Dead 2. If you’re thinking to yourself that you missed part 1, don’t fret. We didn’t do it. If you’re asking why not, just… deal with it. Okay? Could you just… okay?

Much whiskey and rum was imbibed and much bullshitting was done, as has become the norm. This episode includes sing-alongs and other fun stuff, too. Okay… full disclosure… I don’t really remember what else happened. We got a little silly this time. And here’s the kicker; this was part of a double header (prepare for part 2 at some point in the future).

Of course, it wouldn’t be Drunken Cinema without a relevant cocktail. This time around your drink is the Chainsaw.

• 1 1/2 oz chilled tequila
• 5 – 10 dashes Tabasco sauce
• 1 splash lime juice
• 1 splash lemon-lime mix
• 1 pinch black pepper

Pour chilled tequilla, Tabasco, lime juice, and lemon-lime mix into a cocktail mixer with ice. Shake briefly. Fill a (chilled) shot glass, garnish with black pepper, and serve.

We’ve got a lot of Horror Business to catch up on, including some real world horror from Wisconsin where a pair of young girls sacrificed their friend to the fictional Slender Man. This will no doubt put horror in a negative light, but we’re pretty used to that.

Yes, they ALL have new projects in the works. We also give you updates on YET ANOTHER Sharknado movie, as well as what’s new with The Stand and World War Z 2, plus introduce you to The Bringing.

There’s also a bit in there about the amazing-sounding Great Horror Campout, something we definitely want to check out.

If your appetite is still not whetted, and we hope it’s not, we also have two great reviews for you. We give you our thoughts on the latest adaptation of the giant lizard known as Godzilla, plus we got a chance to privately screen the new Lucky McKee movie All Cheerleaders Die.

Yep, that’s right, we used the trademark phrase used by The Crypt Keeper. The reason? We went to Crypticon Seattle last weekend and we got to meet and interview the man behind the corpse, John Kassir (pictured). We also got a chance to spend a few minutes with the Soska twins, Jen and Sylvia, the writers and directors of American Mary and the upcoming See No Evil 2. It was fantastic getting to speak to all three of them, we hope you enjoy it as much as we did. In lieu of Horror Business, we also got a chance to check out some panels while we there, including “The Best Horror Movies of 2013” and “Scary Sexy Time,” a panel about who you would bang from the horror genre. It was… interesting.

We also finally got a chance to see the independant film Truth or Dare, and give you our review of it. We also got a chance to take part in a Q&A session with the movie’s writer/director Jessica Cameron, who was joined by Tristan Risk from American Mary and the short film Call Girl, which was also screened.

Also, as has become tradition, we provide you with a recipe for a cocktail that matches the theme of the movie we’re watching. In this instance, that cocktail is the aptly named Trick or Treatini.

• 2 oz vodka
• 1 oz simple syrup
• 1 splash lemon juice
• 1 dash bitters
• lemon slice

Pour the vodka, simple syrup, lemon juice, and bitters into a cocktail shaker over ice. Shake well. Garnish with a lemon slice.

So watch, listen, and drink along with us. It should be a good time. And if it’s not, you probably won’t remember it in the morning anyways. Cheers.
