The revolutionary "V3" ESC from Hobbywing is FINALLY HERE! The first V3 model released is a 2-3s 120A controller for 2s and 3s racing applications. Anthony Searls lays it down with Powerpush processed CRC lipo's, and with the only Hobbywing ESC in the building!

CRC's Max Kuenning does it again! Snowbirds in February and ROAR Nationals in March!

Fresh off his victory at the 2012 Snowbirds, Max Kuenning does it again, this time in 1:12th scale. Max used the CRC Gen-Xi (#3203) to power his way to a convincing win at the ROAR Nationals in Dallas.

At the 2012 ROAR Nationals, the 1:12th 17.5 class turned into a "who's who's" of R/C drivers with many top drivers jumping in the 17.5 division. In the "Triple-A" main format, CRC driver Max Kuenning took the first 2 mains to wrap up his National Championship in convincing fashion. The young man from New Mexico used a plethora of CRC goodies to power his way to his 2nd National Championship. For the body, Max chose the Black Art R8C (#4167) as this shell is known as the leader in steering with great stability. For power, Max used the CRC 6300 lipo pack (#3702) for the highest power with long term voltage to ensure he had no fade during the run. Kuenning used Pro Cut tires from CRC with magenta compound front tires complementing the pink compound rears. Joining Max in the A-main were CRC teammates Randy Grosse from North Dakota and the Tennessee tornado, Robert Dirla also using the full CRC race package.

In the 17.5 class, the Top Qualifier was the On-point front man and owner, Paul Cicarrello with Max a close second in qualifying. In the finals, the 2 drivers swapped positions with Max taking the ROAR National Championship. While the top 2 used a different chassis, they both chose the same power package; the Hobbywing 120a 1s speed control (#7002) and the CRC 6300 lipo pack (#3702). With the Hobbywing selling to the public at under $130 dollars, it proves that a ROAR National winning product can be acquired at an affordable price.

Team CRC Japan's team principle, Kimihiko Yano, wrote to us to let us know how Team CRC Japan did at Round 1 of the JMRCA Kanto 1/12 Electric On-road GrandPrix. The following is his report:

JMRCA Kanto 1/12 Electric On-road GrandPrix - Round 1 report

The Kanto region of JMRCA(Japan) began the event of 12th EP Racing this year. The Kanto region is capital Tokyo in Japan and an area in the circumference. There are a lot of facilities such as worldwide famous YATABE Arena in this area. This event is done seven times a year, and the driver who acquires the most points obtains the honor of the overall victory.

Recently, the popularity of 12th racing has risen in Japan. Because a lot of brands CRC, Laje, On Point Racing, V-Dezign, YOKOMO, KAWADA, KYOSHO, and TAMIYA all sell product in Japan.

This is event report for round1.

Round1 events was done at Yatabe arena on February 12. Yokomo's Yatabe Arena is the world's largest R/C facility. The IFMAR world championship event was held here many times in the past.

CRC Fasttrak-HD Racing Carpet was introduced into onroad track.

50 drivers in total participated in 17.5T stock class and the Mod class.

Two young CRC drivers attained good results in 12th mod class. Hayato Ishioka acquired TQ from Yokomo's Matsukura by four seconds with the fast result in the final round of qualifying. And, he placed fourth in the final.

Toshiki Kunitomo who is another CRC driver was also FAST. He was 4th place qualifier and 2nd place in the final.

As a result of final, Yokomo's Matsukura won the championship. CRC's Toshiki placed second, and Yokomo's Kato got third place.

CRC's Max Kuenning takes the win in World GT at the 2012 Snowbird Nationals

Max Kuenning enjoying the company of his new friends and the World GT Championship at the 2012 Snowbirds. Max used the CRC Gen-X10 LE (#1712)and CRC 6300 mah lipo (#3702) to power his way to a convincing win at the Birds!

At the 2012 Snowbird Nationals, the World GT class was well attended with a large number of competitors and teams entering the event. Michigan native and now New Mexico resident, Max Kuenning ran World GT with his new CRC Gen-X10 LE. In the A-main, 6 out of 10 cars were CRC machines with Brian Wynn, Jari Taskila, Frank Calandra, Randy Grosse and Dave Ehrlich joining Kuenning in the final.
Max took the lead early and never looked back with smooth lines and great power from the CRC 6300 mah single cell lipo. Max ran the car fairly stock, adding only the long upper front arm and mount as optional parts. Joining Max on the podium was CRC pilot, Jari Taskila in 3rd. Another great result from the flying Fin now living in Connecticut.

SAKURA FGX - Formula Generation X

Another true innovation by 3 Racing, the FGX short for Formula Generation X is the first and most unique 1/10th F1 chassis since the 3 Racing F109 with it’s successful innovative rear dampening system. With the goal to create the most unique and realistic Formula 1 chassis while not compromising handling, the FGX was created from the ground up and basically shares zero parts with the F109 or anything else currently available.

Suspension - F1 inspired
The FGX employs both front and rear independent suspension systems which truly distinguishes itself from all current Formula 1 chassis currently available. The rear end uses laydown oil filled coil spring dampeners similar to that found in today's real F1 cars. The entire rear suspension system is fully adjustable with the same adjustability you'd find in today's touring cars, namely toe in/out, camber, anti roll bars, caster, track width etc.

The Front suspension has maintained the used of the simple kingpin and coil spring system like traditional pan car style F1 chassis but features more realistic suspension arms modeled after the Ferrari F60. The molded suspension arms provides a strong and realistic front suspension system while still providing the adjustability of camber and caster by simply loosening a few screws.

Steering
The FGX features a fully adjustable bell crank steering system which allows you to adjust Ackermann angle in small increments through the use of collar spacers, the same way you'd find on most touring cars.

Drivetrain
The FGX features a mid-rear mounted motor virtually identical to its real life counterpart giving it the best weight distribution possible. Since a direct drive system would not be suitable for a rear independent suspension system, the FGX uses a similar 3 gear gearbox design found in the race proven 3 Racing Sakura FF allowing it to position the motor in the very center of the chassis. This also provided the added ability for the FGX to be equipped with a more robust gear diff or a traditional ball diff unit and the use rebuildable universal driveshafts with protective blades.

Upper Deck
The FGX features a one piece composite molded upper deck which also forms part of the front suspension unit giving it a raised nose cone similar to that of a real F1 car. The one piece upper deck also features chassis flex adjustability where stiffeners can be installed to increase the car's agility and rigidity.

Wing/Spoiler
The one piece front wing and nose tip was given a modular design just like its life size counterpart making changing front wing and nose cone fast and easy.
The rear wing features adjustable flap angels and realistically modeled after the Ferrari F60 with the added touch to allow the installation of a wet race LED tail light just like it's real life counterpart.

Battery Compartment
Longitudinally mounted battery for optimal weight distribution, battery compartment features easy access system, changing batteries only requires the loosening of one screw and has been designed to accept most high capacity lip batteries.

Wheels
The FGX will use its own wheels with its face pattern modeled after the Ferrari F60 plus a more realistic offset allowing it to fully optimize it's independent suspensions and better shock absorption, the FGX will feature wheels for both foam and rubber tires catering for all markets and race conditions.

Typically, a front end brace is used for high grip applications to stabilize and strengthen the front end. The brace reduces chassis flex. This new brace for the Gen-X10/LE car features adjustable width to handle the medium (standard) and wide width front end placement as well as provisions for long and short arm. It is actually 4 parts in one! Just remove the button head screws out of the center section and change the brace width to match your car's width and arm length. Complete with hardware. 3276 + 3278 - Front end cross braces for the Gen-X, XL and Xi.

Much like the 10th scale version, a front end brace is a great benefit for high grip applications. For the 1:12th car, we use 2 different braces, the wide brace for the short arm and the narrow brace for the long front end arms. The 3276 is the longer brace that is used for the short upper arms. The 3278 is a shorter piece used with the long upper A-arm. In addition to an increase in stability, the brace keeps the front end aligned in big crashes. Simple add on part with hardware included.

1762 - Extended rear shock mount top plates for the Gen-Xi.

The new Gen-Xi features optional rear shock positions. You can utilize these positions by lengthening the shock. Or these new extended rear top plates can be use to move the rear shock forward in .25 inch and .5 inch increments. Typically, when the rear shock is mounted more forward, more mid and exit steering is achieved. It is a quick simple change that can be done to alter the handling of the car.

Sold as a set of 2. With .25 inch and .5 inch movement that matches the hole pattern on the Xi.

Calandra Racing Takes 2 at the 2011 Halloween Classic!

Johnson and Buran T.Q. and Win!

The Annual Halloween Classic event in Ohio has been held in many different venues over the long history of the race. From the early days on the westside of Cleveland, to the Mentor area, Strongsville and now in the hands of the Gate in Brunswick, Ohio, the race has bounced around the area. One thing that has not changed over the years is the high level of competition at the event. In addition to a strong field of talent, the event was sold out for 2011. The venue ran out of physical space at 180 entries, simply could not fit another racer, an incredible turnout.

In the 17.5 class for 1:12th scale, Michigan pilot David Johnson took his new CRC Gen-Xi to an impressive T.Q. and win. Dave got his car just in time for the event and both he and the car were quickly dialed in. Dave used CRC tires and a CRC/Black Art R8C body to capture the victory. Dave used the standard cross pack arrangment with the inline speedo/servo position. Over half of the A-main included CRC cars including the top 3 qualifiers; Kenny Lambert 2nd and Chuck Lonergan 3rd. A strong result in one of the largest classes at the event.

In the WGT class, 2009 winner of the Halloween Classic, CRC driver Aaron Buran, took his CRC Gen-X10 LE to another T.Q. and win. Aaron used a fairly conventional and stock Gen-X10 LE to again take the victory at the Halloween Classic. The CRC Rocket Fuel pack 3701 and the 1785 font stiffener brace were used in Aaron's win. A great result from the Ohio driver.

BRCA 12TH SCALE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

For its 33rd consecutive season, the BRCA announce the 2011/2012 12th Scale National Championship. Six exciting rounds of racing for the Spec and Modified Championship titles will be held across the nation at indoor venues fully equipped for up to eighty drivers in each class.

The BRCA 1/12th Electric Circuit National championship for 2011/12 will consist of a total of 6 weekend events with 2 meetings at each event, Saturdays will be Spec class and Sundays will be Modified. Drivers enter each day individually, and for the full experience of the social event that is a BRCA 12th National, many will enter both days and enjoy a very sociable Saturday night with fellow racers.

Four out of the six meetings will count towards the National Championship, and separate Championships will be held for F2 & F3 drivers as well as the Open Championship. Drivers earn a handicap that is used to seed heats, so not only do you always race with drivers of your ability, you automatically enter these Championships too. With six Championship winners each season, there is always a season-long competition with someone to enjoy.

New for this season, the Spec class will use speed controllers with no timing boost, and a 10.5 brushless motor from the BRCA list. Eligible speed controllers will be published on the BRCA website (www.brca.org) and for guidance check the ROAR list (www.roarracing.com)

Internal Independent Lithium Battery Balancer
The UAC-40 employs an individual cell voltage balancer. It is not necessary to connect an external balancer. (JST XH Balance board and lead included) see also CR114 and CR056 for alternative balance lead type.
Balancing Individual Cells During Discharge
During the process of discharging, the UAC-50 can monitor and balance each cell of the battery individually. Error message will be indicated and the process will be ended automatically if the voltage of any single cell is abnormal.
Adaptable to Various Types of Lithium Batteries
The UAC-50 is adaptable to various types of Lithium batteries, such as Lipo, Lilon and the new LiFe series of batteries.
Fast and Storage Mode of Lithium Batteries
Purposes to charge Lithium batteries varies, 'fast' charge reduces the duration of charging whereas 'store' state can control the final voltage of the battery. So as to store for a period when the cell is not in use to protect the useful life of the battery.
Maximum Safety
Delta Peak sensitivity: The automatic charge termination program based on the principle of the Delta-peak voltage detection. When the battery voltage exceeds the thresholds the process will be terminated automatically.
Automatic Charge Current Limit
You can set up the upper limit of the charging current when charging NiCad or NiMH battery.
Capacity Limit
The charging capacity is always calculated as the charging current multiplied by time. If the charging capacity exceeds the limit it can be terminated by the sophisticated microprocessor in the UAC-50.
Processing Time Limit
You can also limit the total processing time to avoid possible defect.
Input Power Monitoring
To protect the 12vDC power source the voltage is monitored by the UDC-50. If the voltage drops below the limit, the process will be ended automatically.
Data Store/LoadA maximum 5 batteries data can be stored for user convenience. You can keep the date corresponding to program setting of the battery.
Cyclic Charging/Discharging
1 to 5 cyclic and continuous process of charge>discharge or discharge>charge is operable for battery refreshing and balancing to stimulate the batteries performance.

The 2011 ROAR Asphalt Nationals was held at one of the finest asphalt tracks in the US, Jackson RC in Jackson, NJ.
Ran by Al Sodano, Greg Sharpe and club members; it features a high driver stand above the club house with a great view of the track at any spot. The weather was not cooperating as it rained a little 2 days of the event. All of the racing was still completed, but the track conditions were not consistent day to day.

In 12th scale, it was Andrew Knapp's first time ever on asphalt with a 12th scale, so "I didn't know what to expect." With a little help from teammate and fellow podium finisher, Joel Johnson (3rd); Andrew figured it out in a hurry as he won the first three rounds of qualifying in the Qual-Points format, securing himself the TQ spot. Andrew consistently set the fastest lap in every round of qualifying as well. "No other car could compete with the speed that the Gen XL can hold in the corners!" In the triple A mains, Andrew took the wins in A1 and A2, and even lapped the entire field in A2.

Good Job "Android", and Congratulations on your second ROAR National Title this year!

Following his Electric Paved ROAR Region 2 TQ and win in World GT, Rui Goncalves gets the win at the 2011 Electric ROAR Paved Nationals!

In the first round of qualifying, EJ Evans from TOP USA took the honors followed by Rui Goncalves in a close second. In the second round, Rui Goncalves took the TQ spot evening the 2 up in the qual-points battle. EJ ended up TQ'ing rounds 3 and 4, and Rui would put in 2 more solid runs to put him second on the grid for the main event. The A-main was short lived for the TQ driver as he had some problems on lap 1 which sent Rui into the lead where he ran for the remainder of the race. With the TQ out of the way, no one else had enough to challenge Rui as he drove away in dominant fashion in search of his first National Title.

As you can see it has a pretty unique rear pod, with the motor mount making up the back bone of the assembly. The aluminium engine mount doubles up as a heat and it simple shape makes it very stiff and robust. The central damper is mounted directly to it as are the side damping tubes together with the lower pod plate. At the rear the hand made carbon bridge not only looks awesome by does a great job of mounting the aluminium rear axle bearing blocks. Slotted holes make it possible to set the ride height of the car.
