By the time I am writing this post Instagram server is down and users around the world couldn't able to see their feeds. This is the second time it's happening within this month.

Problems with Instagram began shortly before 10pm Indian time on Tuesday, June 12, affecting the photo feed and leaving comments on people’s pages – at least according to user reports.

The issues appear to be ongoing well into the evening, and there’s still no word from Instagram on what’s causing the issue.

This latest outage comes just days after Instagram went down globally for a large number of users around the world.

Note: On June 6, an Instagram bug caused the app to crash for some users.Instagram eventually admitted that there was an issue with the Android version of the app.

Microsoft buying Github: Biggest and remarkable acquisition of this year

There was a rumor that Microsoft is buying Github for few days but none of them officially announced it. But today morning the tech giant Microsoft officially announced that its acquiring Github for $7.5 billion. Its is the second largest acquisition after Satya Nadella become Microsoft CEO. The first one is Linkedin for $26.2 billion.

GitHub is a large code repository that has become very popular with developers and companies hosting entire projects, documentation, and code. Apple, Amazon, Google, and many other big tech companies use GitHub. There are 85 million repositories hosted on GitHub, and 28 million developers contribute to them. GitHub will now be led by CEO Nat Friedman, the founder of Xamarin, who will report to Microsoft’s Cloud and AI chief Scott Guthrie. GitHub CEO and co-founder Chris Wanstrath will now become a technical fellow at Microsoft, also reporting into Guthrie.

Now the biggest question and fear among the developer is, this acquisition will put a major set back to open source project and some people already saying that it'll be a death for Github. But Microsoft promises that it'll keep Github independent and open.

Samsung: Updated its AR Emoji With 18 New Expressive Stickers

Samsung has updated its AR Emoji for S9 and S9+ mobiles. Now you can have 18 new animated stickers whenever you create an AR Emoji.

To get this AR Emoji update in your mobile, go to "My Apps" section in Galaxy app store and update the Camera application. Samsung also plans to add 18 more expressions in the coming months, which will bring the feature’s total number of emotion-capturing sticker options to 54.

Once users have downloaded the update, they’ll be able to access and share the new AR Emoji stickers directly from the keyboard, or copy and paste them from the Gallery app into their favorite messaging platform.

Russia Warns Apple

The Russian government issued a warning to Apple to take down the Telegram application from its App Store and to stop the app from using its push service to deliver messages to Russian users. Russia had previously issued an order to the country’s ISPs to block Telegram, taking down millions of IP addresses as a consequence.

Russia Blocks Telegram

Russia had previously asked Telegram to give its intelligence agencies the encryption keys that would have decrypted all of Telegram users’ communications in real-time. Telegram rejected this request, which prompted "Roskomnadzor,” Russia’s media regulator, to ask a court to issue an order to ISPs to block Telegram’s traffic within the country.

The blockade ended up doing significant collateral damage because it blocked 18 million IP addresses from Google, Amazon, and Microsoft. Telegram was using these companies’ cloud infrastructure to evade the Russian government’s censorship by routing its traffic through them.

Soon afterwards, before the Russian government had any chance to fix this problem, Google and Amazon announced that they would block applications such as Telegram and Signal from evading censorship by using their infrastructure.

Russia Asks Apple

Roskomnadzor sent a letter to Apple demanding that the Telegram application be removed from the company’s App Store. Apple will also need to block Telegram from using its push service in Russia. The Russian regulator warned Apple that failing to comply with its "requests" would end up with the Russian government disrupting Apple’s services in the country.

Roskomnadzor argued that the court order issued in April against Telegram is obliging everyone to stop creating technical conditions that would help Telegram avoid the blockade in the country. Apple hasn’t issued a response yet, but it remains to be seen if the company will be as quick to take down Telegram as Google and Amazon were.

To share a feed post to your story, just tap the paper airplane button below the post, just as you would to send it via Direct. At the top, you’ll now see the option to create a story. Tap it to see the feed post as a sticker with a customized background ready to share to your story. You can rotate, scale and move the sticker — and tap it to explore other styles.

Note:

All posts shared to stories display the original poster’s username.
When you see a post in someone’s story, you can tap it to check out the original post and see more from the person who created it.
You can only share posts from public accounts.
If you don’t want your posts shared to stories by other people, you can easily opt out in settings.
These updates are now available on Android and will be coming to iOS in the coming days.

On May 15, 2018 Adobe announced the XD CC Starter plan, a free offering of the all-in-one UX/UI design platform. Google I/O (simply I/O) is an annual developer conference held by Google in Mountain View, California. Important Updates From Day 1 in Google I/O

Android P

1) Adaptive Brightness: Google partnered with Deep Mind to create a new feature called Adaptive Battery, using on-device machine learning to study your usage habits and only draw battery power to applications Android P knows you're using – not once that are needlessly running in the background. Additionally, background processes are also moved to low-power cores.

Machine learning is also being used for another new feature called Adaptive Brightness. Android P will learn your habits of manually changing your brightnedss based on the environment around you, and Google notes that testers of the service manually change their brightness far less.

2) Launcher: Android P launcher will now show you the suggested "app actions" under your suggested apps at the very top. You'll see recommended actions to make a call etc.

3) Rotate Button: A button to rotate your screen from portrait to landscape or vice versa. Even when your phone rotation is locked.

4) Sush: A new way to use DND. If you turn your phone upside down. It'll automatically put your phone to DND.

Setting Up Android Studio

If you are completely a beginner for Android Application Development and want to set up a development environment in your system go ahead and follow below instructions.

Download JAVA

Download and install latest Java JDK from this link

Download Android Studio

Make sure your system meet the minimum requirements to install Android Studio
Minimum Requirement for Windows is: 64 bit distribution OS with Minimum 4GB RAM (But I am strongly recommend 8GB) and 250 GB free space in Hard disk.
If your system meet the minimum requirements go ahead and download and install the latest version of Android Studio

Note: Android studio is quite larger file and it takes more than few minutes to download and install depending upon your internet speed and System.

Create PDF File Using MS Office

PDF (Portable Document Format) is a "read only" document that cannot be altered, it preserves the exact formatting and styling of documents. It never loose its format while you reproduce it or viewing it online. It is widely used for creating eBooks. Many people use third party application or online converter to convert the documents from word to PDF. But you can directly save a word document into PDF by using the SaveAsPDFandXPS.

SaveAsPDFandXPS is an Add-in provided by Microsoft. It works finely in both MS office 2007 and 2010. All you need to do is download the Add-in by clicking here and install it. After you finish creating the document in MS word just click the save as option and save the file type as PDF (See the below picture).

Have A Custom Windows 7 Logon Screen: Without Any 3rd Party Tool:

Windows 7 has the ability to change the logon background screen without the use of any third-party software. You can the logon screen by customizing OEM. To do this you need to change the value of a specific register key in registry editor. To do these first open Run (window key + R). Then type regedit in that and navigate to.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\LogonUI\Background

Then double click the OEM background in the right side and change its value to 1.
Choose your image to use as custom logon screen and rename that image into backgroundDefault.jpg (NOTE: The maximum size of the image is 256kb).
The images for these custom backgrounds are to be placed in the following directory.
%windir%\system32\oobe\info\backgrounds
The directory doesn’t exist by default. So first navigate to %windir%\system32\oobe and then create the info and backgrounds folder manually.
To see the changes just log off your computer and Log back in.

Many beginners in Hacking have the doubt in choosing the best operating system. It’s really not that much hard to choose among Linux and Windows. The following pros and cons of Windows and Linux will help you to choose the operating system for your hacking journey.

WINDOWS
PROS:

85% of computer user using windows as their operating system.
More Software’s support windows only.
Easy to use.
Stable operating system.
If you are a serious gamer and a Photoshop user then Windows is the best choice.

CONS:

High cost.
You don’t have a permission to view or modify its source code.
Virus can easily attack the system (But, Anyone who is smart enough or well versed can easily protect a Win system).
You don't have a permission to redistribute it. (You can sometimes redistribute certain distro's of it. Such as the beta or developer's distro).
Requires high hardware specifications (It depends upon the Win OS you are using).

LINUX
PROS:

It’s an open source and totally free of cost (But not all distro's are free of cost or open source, It depends).
You can modify its source code. (It depends on the distro).
You can redistribute it. (But not all, It depends).
You can get technical support via many forums easily.
Server hosting has better performance than windows (It also depends on the website and the web developer. Not always)
If you are a serious programmer then Linux is the best choice.
You can customize it as much you want, Well you can do the same in Win and Mac too.

CONS:

There is no wide variety of apps like windows.

NOTE:

Things which can do in programming and hacking doesn't depends upon the OS. It's all about the user behind the OS.
If you're a hacker then I suggest learning the In's and Out's of computers both software and hardware before continuing.
Ubuntu is recommended for beginners.
