One clad in destroyed denim caught my eye. Then, Miroslava Duma popped out behind her. My mouth literally formed into the shape of an <span style="font-style:italic;">"oh"</span> when I spotted her. Having followed the Russian beauty's <a href="http://carolinesmode.com/stockholmstreetstyle/tag/miroslava%20duma">street style</a> for years now, my heart kind of stopped. I humbly approached her and politely asked for a photograph. Miroslava kindly obliged. I ogled her Chanel backpack and Lacoste jacket, while she smiled and placed her arm around me for the photo. Though, not Fashion related at all, still a fun one. I love to read (mostly mystery and teen-focused novels.) When I want a break, <span style="font-style:italic;">and a laugh</span>, I turn to none other than Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead and the Gang. I'm not really a comic book person in general, or Anime, for that matter. However, Archie comics are different. I'm always entertained as I flip through these short stories. I started reading them when I was around 7 or 8 years old and haven't stopped since. One of my fondest memories involving my late Grandfather were these comic books. He'd always buy me a couple, only to later "borrow" a few to read for himself. He wasn't much of a reader <span style="font-style:italic;">however</span> Archie Andrews' antics are kind of hard to resist. ;)<br /><br />I have a huge box, somewhere in the garage, housing the rest of my stash. I wish I had saved more. Either way, issues are still made today, so I can pick up a fresh copy every now and then. </div><br />Who else likes to read Archie comic books? Her poise, her grace, her modesty. She's the epitome of chic. Definitely a muse for Chanel, Givenchy and other designers of the time. I never thought I would find a modern muse who could channel Audrey Hepburn with the same ease and class. I did, the day I started watching MTV's <span style="font-style:italic;">The City</span>. Olivia Palermo possesses the same gifts with Fashion that Audrey Hepburn had.<br /><br />Now, you can only imagine my excitement the day I finally met my muse in the flesh. It was during New York Fashion Week, September 2010. We were both backstage the <a href="http://www.fashionchalet.net/2010/09/ports-1961-ss-2011.html">Ports 1961</a> show. Before I even approached her, Olivia kept staring at my shoes (I was wearing <a href="http://www.fashionchalet.net/2011/06/feeling-fanciful-in-moschino.html">these</a>) and she kept remarking <span style="font-style:italic;">"fierce, those are so fierce!"</span> I couldn't believe it. I always admire <span style="font-style:italic;">her</span> shoes choices. I told Olivia Palermo she was a modern Audrey Hepburn and she beamed. She liked my outfit and said I looked so chic. I hand selected the piece for both its intricate design and uncanny resemblance to something the House of Chanel would create. <br /><br />The look and feel of a high waisted pair of riding pants is a great transitioning piece from Fall to Winter. This time, I chose to pair them with a form fitting shirt and sky-high platform heels. As you can see, I kept the silhouette slim and the palette simple. I decided to make the jacket the main focus of this look. Keeping everything else around it fuss-free. I stayed within a black and white motif and only wore a pair of dangly earrings to accessorize.
