2) It is the perfect size for him - My son received this for his 1st birthday and he absolutely LOVES it. It is the perfect size for him. Now that he is learning to walk, he loves climbing over it and rolling on the cushion. It has a good amount of cushion which is a lifesaver for my clumsy little man. He has figured out how to pull the cushion to make it lie flat and that is the only way he wants it right now. If I fold it back to a sofa, he is right behind me pulling it back out again. As he gets older, it will be nice for him to have a place to sit in the living room that he can get himself off and on. Plus, the colors and characters are adorable!!

1) If you are just starting to redo furniture this is the book you want - First of all I did not purchase this book from Amazon, got it elsewhere. I have been through enough furniture refinishing projects to testify that this is wonderful for the beginner. I wish I had this type of help when I stripped down my first piece 33 years ago. Back then I learned as I went.

So if you are new and ready to get started redoing furniture, do yourself a favor you will thank yourself for over and over, and absolutely get this book. The author takes you step by step from how to select a piece of furniture that is going to be worth all the sweat you are going to pour into it to selecting proper materials and products for stripping, scraping, wiping away the old finish. He includes drying times and tells how to make necessary repairs to the furniture, how and what to use to make those repairs.Also included are tips on how to add an old look, or shabby chic, distressed look, how to make your pieces look hand painted, and much more.
I love that the importance of sanding is stressed, depending on what kind of finish you want, sanding, from rough to baby smooth is a process and the author is good to stress the importance. And it is important, because you are going to have to live with the way the furniture feels when you touch it for as long as you own the piece, so listen and don't be tempted to take shortcuts, you will thank yourself for the extra work and patience you invested into the piece, every time you touch it.
Finish is covered well , as it is as important as sanding. The author prefers polyurethane finish, which leaves a nice tough finish that resists spills and stains very well. Personally, I prefer lacquer in a satin finish but this is a labor of love, because to get a wonderful finish takes many coats with lots of sanding in between each coat and lacquer takes a long drying period and is nasty to breath.
There are many excellent ideas and great how to , step by step, instructions here. There are also a fair amount of resources included.
I bought this book for my daughter who is just starting to buy old pieces for their new home, as newlyweds this is the way to save money. Plus by buying her the book, I get out of having to help her learn the processes. Wish I would have had all this help and great ideas when I was doing this kind of stuff 30 some odd years ago.

2) Nitty gritty, down and dirty! - What a great instruction book for the would-be furniture sprucer-upper. From tools to techniques, this book covers so many aspects of re-finishing and repairing wooden pieces. Bar Blair takes you, step-by-step, through the process of removing the old and then applying the new. My husband and get such a kick out of turning someone's kicked-to-the-curb discard, into a proud member of the family. My kids have all come around and asked "Hey, what are you going to do with that when it's finished?" I tell them I'll put it in the will, but they'll have to wait til then!

The author also gives good insights as to what to look for in construction of a piece, what it will take to restore it, and when to walk away. There are costs involved, and I have found myself occasionally paying too much for what it will be worth in the end. All supplies cost money, especially if you are into the new milk and chalk paints and the wax finishes, which she also covers.. This is a good beginner's book, but there are tips that even the more advanced amateur will find helpful.

2) Awesome Cleaner and Smells Great! - There is a lot of leather in my house and it definitely needs it's own special treatment and not the regular cleaning supplies that I use on everything else. Between our office and our living room we have three leather couches. Our dining chairs have leather seats and my husband and I both have leather jackets. I guess you can call us leather lovers!

The couches in our house really take a beating with three kids! I was eager to try the Leather Nova products there first since all three were in dire need of a cleaning!

The office doubles as a den/tv/playroom for the kids so that ouch definitely takes the most abuse and needed a cleaning the most. I started with the Leather Cleaner using the included pad to clean with and following all the directions. I really liked that it was a spray bottle because it makes for quicker and more efficient cleaning in my opinion! I immediately loved the smell. It gives leather that classic leather smell but even better.

I followed up the cleaner with the conditioner to finish it off and give it that new, fresh, clean look.

While I loved the results, it seems like double the work to use the cleaner and conditioner separately so for the next couches I used the Conditioner and Cleaner in one! I'm a busy mom who barely has time to clean so anytime I can skip a step, you can bet I will! I really didn't notice a difference in the finished results. I'm sure it's like using shampoo and conditioner separately and then using a combined product. Your hair is never conditioned as well as if you had done it separately but it gets the job done. When it comes to my cleaning though, if I don't really notice an obvious difference, it's fine with me!

Unsigned, oil on canvas with mixed color medium (relined), 33.5 by 43.5 in., framed in the 19th century old style. This oil painting was labeled on the back (see photos) and had been acquired from an auction event in Cambridge Massachusetts, and was attributed to William Turner by the auction house (see photos).

Attributed to the famous British Painter, J. M. W. Turner.
Turner had painted a lot of similar water color and oil paintings.
The painting had been labeled as "The property of E. P. Broome (ca?)".

This mattress is still holding up very well. I no longer use it as frequently as when I first received the mattress but when guests come to stay over I take it out of the storage bag and blow it up without a problem. I am still quite pleased with the purchase.

I got my Soundasleep air mattress last week. Given my living situation in the past year I have been using air beds quite a bit and have had (unfortunately) more than a few models. So far I have been pretty impressed with this one.

The first night I slept on it was great. The mattress blew up very quickly (you just flip the switch and it automatically starts inflating – no valves to open or close). The bed is the right height for me and has a nice soft top to it. I put some sheets on it and slept like a dream.

I did notice that the mattress seemed to lose a small amount of air over the course of the second night. I thought there might be a leak in the product and reached out to customer support via their website. Having owned my fair share of air mattresses over the years my experience with these companies is that they do not want to be bothered after a sale – basically you are on your own after purchase.

I got a support rep on my first call after only a couple minutes, and she seemed eager to help me. The rep said that the mattresses are made from PVC, a plastic material that naturally stretches, and that stretching was normal during the first couple of uses (evidently SoundAsleep does something during production to minimize this stretching). The rep suggested that this natural stretching was likely the cause and that I should deflate the mattress fully, reinflate one more time and then try it for one more night. She seemed very certain that would solve the issue and the mattress would remain firm once it was fully stretched out. She even offered to follow up with me in a few days to make sure everything was working normally. The prompt and helpful support was refreshing and a nice change from the normal customer support these days.

I followed her advice and the mattress did stay very firm the following evening. I followed up with an email letting her know it worked as suggested and within 15 minutes the same rep responded that she was happy to help out.

2) Extremely comfortable and smart looking air mattress at an unbeatable price! - This was a big purchase for me and my review is pretty thorough:

PACKAGING: The air mattress with built-in pump arrived well packaged in a large, sturdy, cardboard box with the company logo. As the air mattress itself is heavy I appreciated the durable cardboard support and inner cardboard lining which preventing me from slicing into the mattresses when opening the package. I have made that mistake in the past.

TOP UP: All air mattresses stretch over the initial few inflations. My first night with the product I feel as though the PVC stretched slightly, but not nearly as much as other brands I have used in the past - perhaps 5% at most. Nonetheless, the first night I needed a small top-off from the built-in pump for about 10 seconds to get back to my desired firmness.

MOTOR: This air mattress with the built-in pump is very user friendly compared to other models I have used over the years. The electric cord plugs into any standard wall unit and inflates quickly. I have timed the inflation at exactly 4 minutes. I tested this inflation over 4 separate cycles, and each one reached my firmness level in the same time. I have slept on other brands (Intex) that inflate in 3 minutes but that brand continuously leaks air over the course of the night. The Soundasleep motor is foolproof in its simplicity. A clockwise turn inflates the mattress and a counterclockwise turn deflates the mattress. They claim the motor is quieter than other brands. While this may be true, the motor still generates a moderate amount of noise when inflating, comparable, yet slightly quieter than a vacuum.

CONSTRUCTION: The manufacturer describes the mattress as standard queen sized, and after using my trusty measuring tape, I found this to be accurate." The top of the mattress has an extra layer of material which has a micro fiber feel. Standard queen sized sheets fit on the mattress decently well, although after continued use I noticed them starting to fall off. The 40 coil air beam construction adds smooth and comfortable support. These are not real coils like a traditional mattress but the points in the mattress where the material is welded together. The air mattress remained very flat all night without any bulging or sinking in particular areas.

COMFORT: This mattress has now been slept on 4 times - twice alone until my traditional mattress was delivered, once with my wife, and once by a friend. The mattress exceeded my comfort expectations. The 19-inch height made it feel like I was sleeping on a traditional box spring bed, rather than an air mattress on the floor. The mattress top added softness and made it much more comfortable to sleep on throughout the night. While sleeping alone, the mattress dropped very marginally towards the middle but it was not severe at all like I have experienced with other brands. While sleeping with my wife on the mattress it remained really firm through the night. The mattress is made for both single sleepers and couples. The max weight is 500 pounds. My wife and I top out at 300 pounds and felt like it could have easily supported twice as much weight.

CUSTOMER SUPPORT: Soundasleep offers a full year guarantee. I have not had a chance to use the customer support but will update this review if/when I do attempt to contact the company.

PRICE: The air mattress sells for a little over one hundred dollars which is over $75 cheaper than much lower quality products in the big box stores. I saw a Queen sized air mattress in Bed Bath for $250 and couldn't believe the price tag. I do not understand how Soundasleep is making money on such an excellent product at this price point, but their loss is our gain.

WHO COULD USE THIS: Anyone who is tired of going to Target, Sears, Bed Bath or Kmart and spending a lot of money on an inferior product. This air mattress is queen sized so it would likely not work for you if you are space constrained and have a small apartment. If you have the room for a queen, then this mattress is the best there is. It works well with singles as well as couples and probably even pets. It is clearly designed for indoor home use and not for camping. If you are looking for a camping mattress there are a number of other products better suited specifically for this activity.

BOTTOM LINE: This mattress is a no brainer for someone looking for a quality product. There might be slightly cheaper air mattresses out there but I have bought those in the past and always been disappointed. The Soundasleep Dream Series with ComfortCoil technology is a keeper. I highly recommend it!

1) Not completely as advertised - I needed a wider shower curtain to wrap around my clawfoot bathtub. I used a combination of a regular clear shower curtain liner (72" x 72") and this longer shower curtain (102" x 72") to wrap the full circumference of the tub.

The thickness of this liner truly is lightweight - probably the thinnest they could possibly make this material. I'm using it on the side of the tub against the wall where it will not be moved to enter/exit, so we'll see how it holds up. The description of the liner says it has metal grommets, but the photo and the liner I was sent do not. This is unfortunate because the material is so thin it really needs the added reinforcement. However, the description also says the wrong curtain size... It's disappointing that the company was so lazy it just copy/pasted another product's stats, thus misleading a customer.

2) Very thin - I have plastic wrap that is thicker. It will work until I can find a heavy liner. There is no odor, it is long and wide enough and the water runs off of it very well. My only gripe is that it is so thin who knows how long it will last.

1) Finally a Comfortable Chair for a Very Bad Back! - I'm in heaven. This chair gets the award for the perfect chair for a very bad back. My back is so bad that I'm disabled. Normally I can't sit for any short period of time. I have been able to work on my crafts today without being so crippled up. I was sooo...HAPPY! The chair has amazing lumbar support built in it and hits me in the proper zone of my back. The LeatherPlus is very buttery soft but seems very durable. I raked it across my texured wall without a rip or scratch on it. I'm loving this chair just after using it in these last 2 days.

It arrived packed in large box intact. My husband was able to put it together in less than 6 minutes. It took him twice as long to remove the chair from it's box due to it is packed in the box tightly with a spongy pad to cushion it in shipping.

2) Great desk chair - This chair arrived well-packaged and protected with a lot of foam insulation around the wheels and metal components. Assembly was quick and simple, as I didn't even need the instructions. All you have to do is put the air lift on the base and place the seat on the air lift, then it's ready to go. The chair has great lumbar support and reaches all the way up to my head, allowing me to rest entirely against it. It's also fairly comfortable, having a few inches of padding, while not being too compliant so as to lack support, making for a pretty good balance that I particularly like. The air lift lever (for raising/lowering the height of the chair) is designed so that when pushed in the chair cannot recline, but if you pull it out slightly, it releases a mechanical lock and allows the chair to recline back about 20-30 degrees.

I got it at a significantly reduced price on Amazon recently and think that it's definitely one of the best designed chairs for the price I got it at (~$150 with free shipping!). I'd recommend this chair personally (this coming from an engineer).

1) Don't be intimidated by other reviews - I'm a 22 year old gal who, on a good day, can tell the difference between a wrench and a ratchet. I am not handy. Having said that, this desk was NOT that difficult to put together. It took me about 3 hours (including gabbing with coworkers in between), I had no help, and I made no mistakes. Other reviewers make it sound like this is the rubik's cube version of a desk. It is NOT that bad!!!! The instruction manual wasn't great, but if you just let yourself take a moment to get used to it and follow the pictures, you'll be fine. It calls for a second person but again, I managed it just fine on my own. I enjoyed putting it together, and the results were gratifying!

Does it look like a thousand-dollar desk? No. Does it look nice, though? Yes. very. It is extremely sturdy. Everything fit well together. The color is a very nice, rich, extremely dark brown. It is well represented in the photo. The desk is a little higher than what most are used to, but I love the height. Any regular office chair will do just fine.

The key to putting this desk together: USE A POWER DRILL OR POWER SCREWDRIVER. I cannot imagine putting this thing together with a manual screwdriver. It would take forever. Use a drill and you will save yourself a ton of grief and a whole lot of time.

Overall, for what it is, I love it. The price is more than reasonable and I am very pleased with the product. Do not be intimidated by other reviews. I even have the desk facing out where everyone who walks through my office door sees what other reviewers call the "ugly" backside. In my opinion, it looks just fine. No need to place against a wall or hide in a corner!

2) Looks great for the price. Recommend highly - I built this myself along with the matching hutch. I am a 36 yr old woman and I had little trouble with either one. The drawers confused me a bit, but I was able to figure out the tracks and get them to fit with ease. It only took a couple hours to build both. 1) Comfortable and sturdy - I always try to write a review when I purchase an item that doesn't have any reviews yet. I sat in a similarly constructed chair (not an XL model though) at a local garden center and thought it was comfortable enough but I just couldn't justify the expense for something I knew I wouldn't use very often.

5 weeks later I am recovering from an accident that left with me with broken ribs and unable to breathe if I lay flat. I was looking for a CHEAP recliner and was going to buy the one I saw locally but it turned out to be a bit more narrow than I remembered. Amazon had this oversize model available at a decent price so I decided to roll the dice and oh my gosh it is GREAT. It feels a lot sturdier than the model I tried at the store, and it is obviously longer and wider which is lovely for my needs. It is a perfect "hospital bed" for me at 5'7" and I'm sure I will continue to use it once I heal because it is just so comfortable.

2) Very Good Chair - I purchased this chair to replace another vendor's XL chaise lounge, which out of the box, had arrived with several rust spots and some scratches. This new Caravan chair is a MAJOR improvement. I'm about 5' 10", w/a 32" inseam, and I fit into this chair pretty well, never needing to rest my Achilles tendons on top of the foot rest to stretch out. The headrest cushion could be a bit thicker, but that's a subjective call and a minor concern. The arm rests are ample and very comfie. The 2 finger-tip locks work (unlike some). You can adjust the chair, lock it, and the locks will hold the chair at the angle of incline you want. The shipping box, w/its 'made in China' stamp on the side wasn't much to write home about, BUT the tag attached to the chair indicates the chair itself was made in the U.S. UPDATE: 5/12/12 - I bought the first of these chairs about 3 weeks ago and liked # 1 so much that I bought a second one so I'd have a matched set. Both chairs arrived promptly, in perfect condition, are comfortable and look like they cost quite a bit more than the $73.00 I paid on Amazon. Summing up; this chaise lounge is an excellent value!

1) A Real Server Room Workhorse - At some point, anyone with a server room will experience overheating problems. Whether it's caused by building cooling failure, or by overtaxing the air handling system to your server room, heat will be the source of trouble at some point in your server room operations.

I should clarify what I mean by "server room". I am not referring to data centers, which are specifically designed to house hundreds or even thousands of high heat generating server racks, with raised floors, sub-floor cooling systems, large UPS rooms, and days worth of backup generator power. In this case "server room" refers to a dedicated room in a small or medium sized business, where anywhere from one to about five server racks house the data servers for the business's computer operations. (e.g. Law Offices, Insurance Companies, Security Firms, Software Developers, etc.)

For many small businesses, the idea of a server room is an unplanned necessity, resulting from the realization that the receptionist's computer is no longer a sufficient data server for the entire office. When server rooms are set up in existing office space, as most are, they are usually provided the same amount of cooling as the "people space." The problem is that servers produce much more heat than people in an office.

Enter the Movincool Office Pro 60 Portable Air Conditioner. This unit provides five cooling tons of air conditioning to these undercooled areas. While it's not as easy to set up as the manufacturer claims, it's still a very reasonable option. Movincool makes it sound like you just roll it in, plug it in, and you're ready to go. In reality, it's a little bit more involved than that. Specifically, you need to have a dedicated 50 amp, 230 volt circuit available for this unit. It does not plug into a normal outlet. Depending on the location of your power panel and your relationship with your local electrical contractor, installing the dedicated circuit and outlet can cost as little as a $150, to well over $1000.

Another issue to take into consideration is that this unit, like all refrigeration units, produces condense water that needs to be drained. The Movincool handles this very well. It has a built-in condensate pump that will pump the condense water out of the unit, through the included 25' drain hose. This allows you to drain the water into a drain above the level of the A/C unit itself, such as a kitchen or bathroom sink, or even outside, through a wall.

After power and water drain issues have been addressed, the next important consideration is venting the unit. Air conditioners pump heat from one source to another, in this case air to air. While you have ice cold air blasting out of the front of the unit, you also have hot air billowing up from the top of the unit. An air duct mounts to the top to carry this hot air out and away, usually into the building air return system above your ceiling tiles. (There is even a ceiling tile adapter for the air duct.) The air that blows out of the top of the unit is pulled in from the side, thereby drawing out conditioned room air and replacing it with air from the surrounding office area. If this isn't a problem in your case, don't worry about it. If you have a sealed room that can't readily replace air being pulled out of it, Movincool makes an adapter that allows you to hook up another air duct from the building supply air (cooling register) to the air intake on the side of the unit. Problem solved.

Lastly, remember to take size into consideration. It's hard to get a perspective of the size of this unit from pictures. It's not like those little home units that are only a little bit bigger than a paper shredder. This unit is 30" wide, by 52" long, by 64" high, more like an entertainment center than an air conditioner. If you need to use the air intake adapter on the side, add about another 24" to the width, just to be safe.

While these four considerations definitely need some planning, it's still a very feasible installation, even on short notice; not to mention much cheaper than a permanent installation. Best of all, if you are in leased office space, you can take your investment with you when you decide to move to a new location. Overall, this unit is a great investment.
