Juhi Parmar won the Bigg Boss 5 reality show last weekend, but did she really deserve to win?

Several readers, and even former contestants are quite divided on her win, many opting for Sky instead.

We decided to ask some former contestants of the show, and see what they had to say about Juhi, and the other housemates.

I liked everything about Bigg Boss season 5 because everybody reacted when they were attacked, unlike in previous seasons.

I liked Sky the most because he was honest. Pooja Missra was entertaining with her antics but towards the end, she started picking fights unnecessarily.

I somehow didn't like Shonali Nagrani after she blamed Pooja (Shonali raised a hue and cry when Pooja Missra snapped a broom by hitting it on the floor. Shonali alleged that a fragment of the broom flew into her eye and demanded Pooja's eviction).

Juhi deserves to be the winner. She didn't keep quiet but stood up when she had to. She was expected to win but I wanted Sky to win.

The allegations made against Amar were uncalled for especially coming from an adult movie star like Sunny Leone.

There will be Saif Ali Khan, Vir Das and Kunal Khemu, and one Puja Gupta! The one-film-old actress says she is not at all insecure about being cast with three male actors in her next film, Go Goa Gone. In her debut Bollywood vehicle F.A.L.T.U. as well, the former beauty queen was the only female among the boys — Jackky Bhagnani, Ritesh Deshmukh and Arshad Warsi.

“I’m just happy with my character. And insecure? Not at all! Being the only girl on the sets, it’s just second time lucky for me! It’s a lot of fun shooting with them,” Puja said. After winning the Miss India Universe crown in 2007, the 25-year-old went on to represent the country at the Miss Universe 2007 competition in Mexico. She didn’t make it to the top five, but the platform opened many doors for her. She bagged the chance to model for brands like Mario’s Hair & Care, Pantaloons, Coca Cola, Monte Carlo, Bausch & Lomb as well as the Lay’s Tango campaign with Saif. In her upcoming film, produced by Illuminati Films, Puja plays a college girl.

“In the movie, I play a young college girl, who is very independent and believes in herself strongly. She is a very easy going yet adventurous person and that’s what brings her to Goa with her friends in the movie,” she said. The movie is being directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK of Shor In The City and 99 fame. Puja has already shot the first schedule of the film.

So has she had any crazy and adventurous experience so far? “I do get to hold the real gun! We are just finished with the first schedule right now, and we have one more schedule to shoot. So there’s much more adventurous and bizarre things coming my way. I’m absolutely thrilled about it,” she added.

So far the crew has shot at a place named Chorla Ghat, which is on the Goa-Karnataka-Maharashtra border. She says it was beautiful. “The place is surrounded by wildlife and greenery, cottages, not much civilisation, there were no phone signals and so no BBM (BlackBerry Messenger)… so it was a huge deal for me,” said Puja, who admits Bollywood has always been a “dream destination”. But, as she says, there’s a “long long way to go”

TV artiste Juhi Parmar has finally been announced as the winner of the controversial reality show Bigg Boss season 5. Along with Juhi there were four other members like Sky aka Akashdeep Saigal, Amar Upadyay, Siddharth Bhardwaj, Mahek Chahal in the house. But Juhi has beaten everyone in the grand finale of the Bigg Boss 5 on this Saturday. With this, she has bagged the prize money of Rs.1 crore.

Juhi Parmar entered the Bigg Boss 5 house with the first 13 contestants on October 2, 2011. Although the Kumkum star indulged in many arguments in Bigg Boss 5 house, she made sure that she play the game more safely and patiently. She faced lot of hardship for her friendship with Sky and Sunny Leone, but she never cared for those criticisms. Finally, her patience has been paid off with the Bigg Boss 5 title.

However, Juhi Parmar, who is married to TV personality and businessman Sachin Shroff, has earlier participated in other reality shows like ‘Pati Patni Aur Who’ and ‘Maa Exchange’ and many others. She has won the Miss Rajasthan title in 1999. She has also bagged the Best Actress critic (Female) at the Indian Telly Awards in 2005 for her character ‘Kumkum’ of STAR Plus's Kumkum (TV series).

Salman takes revenge on Priyanka ?

Salman Khan has apparently chosen to promote Kareena Kapoor-Imran Khan starrer Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu on Bigg Boss instead of Priyanka Chopra-Hrithik Roshan starrer Agneepath. Rumours are rife that this is Salman’s decision as he is not in good terms with Priyanka Chopra and Hrithik Roshan.

Hrithik Roshan, who had a verbal spat of words with Salman Khan during the release of Guzaarish patched up with the actor long back. However, Salman Khan apparently did not allow the promotion of Priyanka Chopra and Hrithik Roshan’s movie Agneepath on his reality show Bigg Boss 5. Salman instead chose to promote Kareena Kapoor and Imran Khan’s film Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu.

If rumours are to be believed, though Salman is now quite comfortable with Hrithik, he is still upset with Priyanka Chopra since she refused to be a part of his home production Mr. & Mrs. Khanna.

Rediff, MSN, WorldSnap and many more written that they are unhappy by watching it. So what we will say more?? Imtiaz, Ranbir, Nargis have more expectations from the movie but it will not happen. Movie fails to impress the audience mostly college colleagues. Movie has very lengthy script but it could have managed more well to be good one.
Ranbir Kapoor has done a very good job in this movie but Debut Nargis Fakhri looks good but she needs improvement in her acting skills. Review: Rockstar is more Devdas than Jim Morrison

Ranbir Kapoor's new film is a love story that tries to pose as an insight into an artiste's anguish, feels Sumit Bhattacharya.

Director Imtiaz Ali's new film Rockstar has two heroes: Ranbir Kapoor, and A R Rahman.

Ranbir Kapoor, who many believe is Bollywood's next big Kapoor, delivers an impressive performance, portraying with aplomb the buffoonish Janardhan Jhakar, who no one takes seriously, and the grim 'rock star' Jordan who Janardhan becomes.

And Rahman goes on overdrive with a background score that lifts the film with every dive bomb (presumably by woman shred guitar star Orianthi, who you can see perform with Michael Jackson on the This is It documentary, and who has played on Rockstar's song Sadda Haq).

The film is beautifully shot in wonderful locales, and pleasing to the ear too. Prague, one presumes, will soon be inundated with more Indian tourists following in Ranbir and Nargis Fakhri's footsteps.

Apart from the standout background score, Rahman's songs, as usual, take on new life with the visuals. Nargis -- who, to borrow Janardhan's words, looks superhot and supercool -- and Ranbir glow in their scenes together. The dialogue is funny (Bugger off, she says. Burger off? He wonders). Some scenes are hilarious.

But don't let the title fool you. This movie is more an old-school Bollywood love story than the advent of heavy metal in Hindi cinema. Jordan is more like Devdas than his idol Jim Morrison.

On the surface, the film is about a guitar-toting dimwit transforming into an angry 'rock star', an expression that can perhaps give 'awesome' a run for being the most misused term in the English language (my boss sarcastically calls me rock star because I play guitar). But this film is devoid of any insight into an artiste's anguish, try as it might by quoting Jalaluddin Rumi.

There are shades of Jab We Met, in the sense that the first half is full of light-hearted moments between an unlikely pair (in this case Janardhan and Heera Kaul, played by Nargis) and that the second half is intense, with twists.

The film opens with Jordan making a true rock star entrance -- after a fight -- in a stadium concert in Prague. But why is Jordan, who has giant billboards in Eastern European countries and the following of a, say, Mahendra Singh Dhoni in India, so grim? What's his problem? That's what you will find out if you go see the movie.

The first half is full of promise; the gags are funny as you follow the lovably foolish Delhi college kid Janardhan Jhakar as he attempts to be the Robert Plant of Pitampura and goes out on secret excursions of all things taboo with his sophisticated, rich college mate Heera. Heera is getting married off to Prague soon, and she has a list of wild things she wants to try: Drinking desi alcohol, watching B-grade porn in seedy theatre halls, etcetera. Nice.

But the realism disappears before you can say Sadda Haq.

Janardhan becomes Jordan, a 'rock star' unlike this country has yet seen. (If you disagree, please show me a TV 'breaking news' clip about a non-film musician's love life, or paparazzi hounding any such musician with the regularity and alacrity as those in the film do to Jordan, or any front-page report about a non-film musician.)

The trigger is, of course, a broken heart, and a set of circumstances that are weird, if not bizarre.

I don't want to burden you too much with plot giveaways, but there really is no way a kid thrown out of his house and taking refuge in Nizamuddin Dargah can suddenly start playing a Gibson guitar, which costs anything upwards of Rs 50,000.

Such trivial problems with reality generally do not burden Bollywood films. But this one tries hard to be real and deep -- including lampooning the media, and with Kashmiris shouting Sadda Haq and blurred-out-by-Censor-Board Free Tibet posters -- and falls flat.

It tries to pose as an insight into an artiste's anguish, when it's just a candyfloss romance that even takes the drugs out of a film about a dark star.

What work are the performances. The characters are portrayed with care, and the late Shammi Kapoor plays a shehnai great who spots Janardhan's talent. Many will find sentimental value in the jam scene between him and his great nephew.

Die-hard romantics will find a lot to mush over. A fellow reviewer spotted a couple of teenagers at the Mumbai press show weeping buckets.

Many will swoon over Nargis, and the fairer sex will find Ranbir's transformation irresistible, and forgive the fact that his fingers don't move at all like someone who has been playing the guitar since childhood.

Or that throughout the movie he plays variety of gorgeous electric guitars without a cable -- or a wireless device -- attached to any of them. That's like trying to drive a car without fuel.

Again, that amounts to nitpicking in Bollywood, but in a movie that takes care to show the guitarist's pedal board, Fender amplifiers and the singer's in-ear stage monitors, that is just funny.

In a country obsessed with watching some movie or the other every weekend (that's what people do, right? Go to malls and/or watch a film), Rockstar is what is called a one-time watch.

Just don't expect too much.
