Why I Included Chips and Less Candies For Trick or Treaters Last Night.

Kids expect different kinds of candies when they go out for Trick or Treat. Last night when they came by and saw my plastic bin full of different kinds of chips they were like, "Oh, wow!"

I let them grab what kind of chips they want and also offer candies and most of them wanted the chips only.

So why I included chips? Because most likely, chips will be eaten than candies. I read from Internet that parents hide, throw away or donate the candies after Halloween.

And a friend of mine throw them candies away. Sharing a screen shot of my conversation with him. It was a little early when we chatted and there was only 1 kid came by at my house that time which made me a little sad, thinking, who is going to eat the chips and candies?! 😀😀

I am planning to do the same next year and hopefully, I can eliminate the candies in the near future.

Espie Diosay's Delicious and Affordable Kakanin

A party is boring with out kakanin, do you agree? It adds color and shape to the table setting and it is tasty and very easy to make if you had resources. And if you would rather order it from a seller, it is very affordable.

When I shop at any Filipino store here in US, kakanin is the first thing I would look for. My favorite kakanin is puto cheese, what's yours?

During my Mom's 70th birthday last June, I ordered kakanin from my very good friend Espie. She used to be the Barangay Treasurer of Barangay San Isidro. She had moved to Barangay Karaos for quite a while now which used to be a part of San Isidro.

I haven't tasted her products yet as I am not in the Philippines right now but my family said that her kakanin was really yummy! And I trust the judgement of my family, hehehe! I cannot wait to go home to order some for myself, hopefully soon.

Dara's Pastries

I always try to support locals, especially the people I love, friends and neighbors in their businesses so when I learned that Dara is selling sweet delights like cakes, cupcakes, coconut macaroons and what not, I did not have second thoughts to support her.

I have known Dara since she was born because her parents are very close family friends. I remember when she just learned how to walk she can dance gracefully already and had been a part of every barangay activity (dance intermission numbers) during her childhood and everyone loved her performance! I never thought that she would become a baker because she is more of a performer and considering her mom can only make puto cheese (haha!) and I remember, I even have borrowed her steamer many times way back then because I couldn't afford one, (Thank you ate Libeth!), so I kinda really wonder where did Dara get her talent in baking! Just kidding :)

To continue, I have ordered cakes from her more than couple times already for my family and they said Dara's cakes are super delicious! I haven't tasted her cakes yet because I am out of the country, hopefully, soon I could have a bite or two, hmm.. maybe a slice or two.

Dara's Pastries bakes mostly custom cakes which is really interesting. You just send photo of the cake you want and she will make it for you perfectly. Or, you can ask her to show her available theme designs, for example, children's birthday cake for boys or for girls, debut, 50th or 70th birthday, etc. Or just visit her page to choose your cake design.

If you did not live in San Francisco, Agusan del Sur or if you were out of the country like me and you want to surprise someone for celebrating whatever occasion or you just want to send a cake gift "just because", you can just shoot her a message on her page and tell her what you want and send your payment thru G-cash, which I also used to pay her. I am not sure if she would deliver because she is a busy mom of 4 cute kids so I think she only offers pick-ups.

Daddy'$ Millionaire Dog$

As per pictures below, I am not talking about my dogs Buchoy and Luna. No, their Dad is not a millionaire, he is rich though... Rich is his name, not millionaire... just Rich, Lol!

This post is about the dogs of my friend at work. I call him Mr. Clyde. Let me tell you about him first. He has been in Round Mountain Gold Corporation for 35 years. Yep, 35 years. Being in the company that long made him a millionaire. His 401 K alone has more than a million already plus his savings and other investments which I am pretty sure are hefty too (he has no vices except shopping on Amazon).

He is single, never been married and no kids but he has 2 lucky dogs that he calls "my kids". We never hang out outside work but I can tell that he is a nice person. I did not get to know more about him until I moved to the side of his Crew when I got a Day Tech position. I remember though at one time, he took time off from work when his first dog passed away. And honestly, I was like, "I am very sorry for his loss but taking a week off for that reason is I think too much". I did not have pets at that time so I could not relate.

He was sad and lonely until three people very close to him at work (one of them is Ms. Shona who influenced me to get Buchoy and Luna) planned something to make him happy again. They got him a skin and bone stray dog wandering around Ms. Shona's ranch. They made it appear like, "someone dropped off the dog in his home" incident.

He accepted and loved the dog and named him Buster who live up to his name because he would bust everything when Mr. Clyde is not around.

Few months later, he rescued a dog from a shelter and he named him Homie, and contrary to Buster, he doesn't live up to his name because he tried to leave home one day as Mr. Clyde caught him inside the UPS truck with paws upon the steering wheel, Lol!

Buster and Homie are spoiled. They are fed with steak, roast beef and other good stuff. They get gifts for their birthdays, Halloween and Christmas. They are both living a great life with Mr. Clyde.

Last month, we were talking about dependents of our benefits at work, Family Trust,Will and Testament and others for that matter. I shared that my husband and I just got done with our Family Trust in case something happens to both us at the same time.

I asked Mr. Clyde who are his beneficiaries of his millions and he said, "My dogs. Whoever will take them will have my millions". I thought he was just kidding me but he was not. He added, it was the first dog who passed away was the original beneficiary. I was shocked for a moment. Though I have heard or read stories similar like this, never in my wildest dreams that I could encounter as such in person.

Buster, the skin and bone stray dog and Homie, the rescue dog, are Daddy'$ Millionaire Dog$!

I learned that Japanese people are fashionistas and very particular with brand names. And it is in Japan that you would see many second hand shops of Designer bags, clothes, jewelry and what not. One day I bumped into a live online seller and I got hooked. I have followed few online sellers from Japan since then.

I have made blogs about three Japan online sellers years ago because I bought stuff from them. This time I am sharing my recent favorite online sellers to watch. Everyone, Meet Buchoy's Little Sister: Luna, the Sweet Doodette

The first time I saw Luna's photo on Golden Doodle Lovers group on Facebook, I fell in love with her right there and then. The previous owner was looking for a home for her and of course for a fee. The re-homing fee was $3,500 including crate and other stuff and I almost fainted. I only paid $200 for Buchoy!

That time my husband had been in the hospital for couple of months already and Buchoy was in a 4-week boarding and training which I paid a whooping $2,700 (which I don't think a good idea in the first place, honestly).

The previous owner said Luna is very active and playful and that their other dog cannot keep up. She said the other dog is a mini Golden Doodle and they noticed that the poor dog will hide under the bed and couch from Luna. She added that it would better for Luna to be with other dog of her size and age.

I was like, she is perfect for Buchoy! But, dang, I don't think I would spend that much. I sent her an offer anyhow. I said, I will give Luna a happy home and a loving brother for $1,500. Take it or leave it. It took many days before they made a decision.

"I am getting Buchoy a sister", I told my husband in his hospital bed. He was like, "Really? Okay." I guess he knew that he couldn't do anything about it that time so he okayed right away, hehe!

When I picked up Luna, she wiggled her tail, let me pet and hug her. I was the happiest! She is a very sweet dog. She loves to give kisses. I never heard her bark until she learned it from Buchoy. She wants to be by my side all the time and she follows me even going to the bathroom, Lol!

Buchoy is a good brother to Luna. He loves her as he would not mind me giving more attention to Luna. He goes with Luna everywhere. When Luna sleeps, he would lay down too. When Luna barks he would bark too.They were born in the month of November so we only have one party for both which is awesome!

Is Mining Industry a Safe Place to Work?

You may have asked, is mining a safe place to work? May it be a surface or underground mine and in my own experience as a miner, the answer is absolutely YES.

Mining industry is very highly regulated with Mine Safety and Health Administration or MSHA. This agency, I am telling you guys, is really doing their job and is, I would say, incorruptible. They can penalize a mine or even an employee big time, like thousands of dollars if they find unsafe place to work or find any kinds of hazards. They can also shut a mine down. Seriously. And they listen, in fact, anyone can call them anonymously to report anything related to safety in your workplace. I remember years ago, they came to the property to check out all break rooms because apparently, someone called in and reported a hazardous break room in one of the departments in the mine.

Round Mountain Gold Corporation or RMGC provide all the necessary trainings an employee would ever need and provide any kinds of PPE or Personal Protective Equipment like gloves, ear plugs, safety glasses, and many other things of different kinds. You name it, RMGC have it.

We also have different programs like Critical Risk Management or CRM, GAPS, PRE-SHIFT and many other good stuff. Work place inspection and pass down reports between incoming and outgoing Leads is required every shift change. Every department would have safety meeting every day before the start of the shift. Because SAFETY is the number one priority in every mine.

I could write more but I hope this short blog is enough already to feed your curious minds about the safety in the mining industry.

Husband: Buchoy Ruined My Life!

Many times, my husband would tell me this annoying words "Buchoy ruined my life!"

"Yeah, right", I would say.

I am not really sure if he is legit serious everytime because first and foremost, when we go out of town and while I am inside Walmart or shopping in a Thrift store, guess where would he go? PetSmart. He would buy dog foods and treats and he makes sure the treats are made in USA. Buchoy's food is dry food from Blue Buffalo and he used to love it. But when my husband bought and gave him FreshPet foods, Buchoy doesn't eat his dry food anymore. Fresh Pet foods are refrigerated foods and they are not cheap. And when Buchoy's foods are running out, he would drive 54 miles in order to get some because Raleys, the only grocery store in Tonopah, sells them. And when he goes to the store for an errand, he always have something for the dog who ruined his life, like Beef jerky.

I am more of spoiling Buchoy by buying toys and other stuff like a hammock for the suburban so that he will be comfy when we travel and also, since it's cold now, I bought him sweaters and the like.

So, no, I do not believe him when he rants but there are times that I would like to yell back because it's just annoying you know.

I am guessing you don't believe him either. High five to that!

Buchoy The Pogi Dood (The Handsome Doodle)

The name Buchoy is definitely taken from one of my nicknames. He is my number one source of joy and strength apart from husband when I come home weary and tired from work. I love him so dearly!

I had been wanting to get a pet, at first I thought cat was fine but I found out that I am allergic to cats. Next, I was considering to buy a fish and just put it in a fish bowl you know, but someone discouraged me. She said I cannot pet a fish, like touch it. So I thought I'd just get a puppy. But hubby said, NO. He said he would move out of the house or would divorce me, blah and blah. Of course I did not want it to happen, right? So I quit pestering him.

One fine day in January 2020, well, it was cold and snowy, not really a fine day for me, haha, because I hate cold, but indeed it was, at work. My gorgeous co-worker named Ms. Shona was telling me about this Golden Doodle puppies available for sale at $800.00 each. And she showed me a pic. OMG, I got mesmerized when I look at the photo! I decided to get one right there and then! I said, if my husband will divorce me, I could care less! I am getting a puppy whether he likes it or not! This.. is not really advisable. Seriously.

"Ms. Shona Buns" said to call the lady owner to haggle the price, which I did, haha! And guess what, I got him for $200.00! It was a steal! The lady said, okay you can have him as long as you promise me that you will give him a happy home. How impressive my haggling ability, ha? No, not really.. it is because the owner is a friend or a neighbor of Shona's daughter. They live 4-5 hours away from where I live by the way.

When I got home that day, I told the husband I was getting a 6-week old puppy and that he is a Golden Doodle ( mixed Golden Retriever and Standard Poodle), a boy in cream color, he cost $200.00 and he lives a hundred miles away. He said, NO as expected. I just gave him a blank stare and a silent treatment afterwards (again, this is not advisable). He would talk to me and I would just look at him. My mind was boggling already how to get the puppy.

The following day, I left the house without talking to the husband. I was not happy about it but I really wanted to have a pet and the puppy was perfect! And guess what, one of the girls at work volunteered to get the puppy for me! It was so nice of her, yeah? She was going that way anyway for a doctor's appointment, she said, and her mom was going with her. Of course, I said yes! Everyone at work was excited for me. But one guy co-worker said, the husband should approved first. I should have told my husband before I called the owner, blah, blah and blah. I said, whatever. I am getting that puppy, by hook or by crook.

Before that day was over, I got a text from my husband. It was actually a list of the materials to be needed for a doggy door and for building a fence in the backyard, there is a fence already but there was a spot that is not fenced, maybe 5 meters or so. It also says the amount per material, etc. And he said he was going to Fallon the following day to buy them! I was like, OMG!

And the rest is history.

I seriously had went to a Halloween Party at one time only, yes, just one time in my 40 plus 8 years on earth, and that was year 2019 with my co workers. And because of Covid 19 virus, I was too scared to attend the following year.

My costume is not popular but I thought I nailed it, yeah alright, lol! I am the Bat woman :)

I honestly have forgotten or have no idea on the name of the costumes my friends and co-workers are wearing except the Dark Angel costume and Alice in Wonderland :)

Five Years and Counting at Round Mountain Gold Corporation!

For many years, it had been my dream to be a part of Round Mountain Gold Corporation family. Hubby had worked in the company for almost 10 years but decided to move to Winnemucca when my kids and I arrived from the Philippines thinking there are more opportunities over there. I was able to convince him to go back to Round Mountain and thankfully, he got rehired.

Now, I am celebrating my 5th year in RMGC! Thanks to my husband! And thanks to my Filipino friends Mary Rose and Mona (they are sisters) for their support. And most of all, thanks to the Lord God above. It was truly by grace and I am very thankful and grateful.

I started working in the General Store which is owned by the mine. I worked at the Meat Department and mind you, I got to learn how to cut rump roast, hahaha! Also, I had been able to identify different cuts of steaks. Thanks to my mentors, Mr. John my Manager at that time and Justin who is now working in the IT Department, also in RMGC. And not only that, I got to try all kinds of cheeses (smoked Gouda became my favorite) and deli meats! And I got to meet all the people in the community and being a people person, that made me really happy. I liked the job but I wanted to work "inside" the mine for more money and for a greater challenge.

As soon as I got my first year anniversary in the company, I applied at the Assay Lab. Yes, we are allowed to find another job from different department after a year. The interview was tough, it was nerve wracking because it was a panel interview. I remember the Ore Processing Manager asked me about Mathematics. I answered, "Math was not my favorite subject back in high school and college, I am not really good at it because I don't like numbers, but I am sure in the Assay Lab, I could use calculator when needed." I thought that was the dumbest answer the interviewer has ever heard, hahaha! Thankfully, I got hired! And the rest is history.

I am looking forward to more 5 years and another 5 years, and another 5 years onward!

My Bruno Mars Experience

It was fantastic! HOWEVER, it was a little bit disappointing.

I got to witness the superb performance of Bruno Mars on April 30, 2019 at the Park Theater in MGM Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada with my co-worker Mary Rose and her 2 nieces. The concert supposed to start 9:00 o'clock so we checked in an hour early. We were very excited! BUT to our dismay, they took our phones, locked it inside an individual pouch then gave it back to us. I was like, “What is happening?” You know when you buy a pair of Levi’s or any expensive clothes, they have this black or white plastic thing for theft protection and only the cashier can take it off using an electronic tool? That’s how the lock of the pouch looks like only smaller. We were very disappointed! We were caught off guard! I did not even get to inform my husband!

The venue was pretty much big and full. The people started getting impatient after 9:20pm and the show hasn’t started yet. Mary Rose and I were like, “Is this going to be a Filipino time?” Hehe! Because Bruno Mars is half-Filipino, right?

We started screaming when the stage curtain rolled up slowly then we saw Bruno Mars and his group singing! The lights effects are awesome! With the screaming and whistling of the crowd plus the music, it got really loud that I had to protect my ears ( I did not want to spend another $317.00!), I took the ear plugs from my bag and wear them. It was still loud but my ears felt a lot better.

Bruno Mars is not tall (5'5")! He looks so little being surrounded with his tall band members! He wore a white sleeveless shirt underneath his long orange printed all-button down long sleeves shirts, blue jeans and white sneakers. He was wearing a kinda head band and his curly hair was exposed. As I was looking at him, I actually was thinking about his shirts, hehe! It was not really fancy but, dang, he is the cutest! He was teasing us about our phone being locked. He said he could do what he wants, could even take his shirts off and no one can record it and while he was saying that, he smiles like a naughty boy and it was priceless!

The concert went on for 95mins and when it was over, it was already a little past 11pm!

The unlocking of phones was pretty cool and amazing, the theater people just stood by the exit door holding and clicking a tool, (they didn't need to hold the pouch), and voila! The pouch was unlocked! When I got my phone, I got a dozen of text messages from my husband and miscalls trying to get hold of me, wondering what was going on (He was a little scared letting me go to concerts after the bombing in Las Vegas).

Aside from the phone issue, it was a night full of blast!

A Day At Work As a Miner

I am miner. I learned that anyone who works for a mine is called a miner. If you were a nurse or a doctor in a clinic own by the mine, you are a miner.

I work for Round Mountain Gold Corporation located in Nye County, Nevada. It is owned by Kinross Gold Corporation, a Canadian based company. My position is Assay Lab Technician and I do different kinds of stuff but my main job is fire assay. I have been in the company for 5 years and 8 months as of this posting.

Because the mine is not that far from the subdivision where I live, the driving is only 7-10 mins to and fro. I knew lots of miners who have to ride a bus for an hour or so before they could get to their workplace. Actually, my husband who is now retired, had experienced it before from a different mining company. No fun.

I would arrive in the Assay Lab before 6:00 AM during day shift, before 6:00 PM during night shift. At 6:00 everyone is expected to be at the lunch room for a safety meeting. It's like an everyday briefing for everyone or an everyday reminder to work safely because SAFETY is a big thing in RMGC. It is a number one priority. The lunch room slash break room is cozy. We have oven, refrigerator and cold water/ ice machine. We take turns in sharing a safety topic, anything about safety or anything going on at the mine can be a safety topic. Whoever gives the safety topic would say something about it or would elaborate it and write it down on a predated paper with all our names on it, then affix our initial next to our respective names.

Then I'd go to the locker room to change. It has 2 bathrooms and 2 shower rooms but we use the latter rarely. I actually never used it. The locker room is big and I have 2 lockers under my name. We wear scrubs (tops and pants) at work and the company provide them. If you do not want to wear scrubs, it is up to you. But why would someone not?

Afterwards, with the inspection sheet on hand, I would do a workplace inspection, write down notes if I find any hazards and correct it right away and sign it before submitting it. Sometimes I would do this first before changing my work clothes. After that, I'd start working. We take two breaks: breakfast and lunch.

At the end of the day, I would change clothes and the oncoming crew would take care of our scrubs (drying and folding) after we put them in the washer before we leave. I work 12 hours per shift for 7 days then I get 7 days off afterwards. The schedule is perfect. We feel like we are on vacation every other week. The operation in the Assay Lab is 24 hours, hence, the weird schedule.

Like any other jobs, there are fun days and there are challenging days at work but I love my job and I like the people I work for and I work with. I can not imagine myself working in another company so I would safely say, I am not going anywhere, unless the mine will shut down.

This girl has made live selling a career. Most buyers and viewers call her "Manay". She owns a shop in Manila and now owns a website and she has the most numbers of followers, viewers and buyers among FB live sellers I knew. She has created a Facebook group where she would do live auctions solely for resellers. Most of her items are sold out every time she is on live.

I bought my first online purchase thru Facebook live selling from her. It was a Louis Vuitton Saumur 30 sling bag. The transaction was smooth until I noticed that I had given her the wrong zip code and the bag was dropped off the post office already. I panicked and sent her private message right away and guess what, she took care of it promptly. I got my bag on the mail and it was inside a Louis Vuitton dust bag, I remember there was no inclusion when I purchased it. That was really nice of her!

There have been no items I purchased from her since then because it was becoming hard to compete with whole sellers/ resellers from Philippines and considering the time difference, it is really hard to catch her on live.

If you are interested in buying luxurious items from Japan for personal use or for reselling purposes, she is the person you want to do business with. You name it, she will find it for you. Aside from Facebook, she can be found on Instagram and I have not followed her yet because I am not an Instagram person, but if you ever search her name, I am sure you would find her. Beware of fake accounts though, many times her Facebook account had been copied and, hacked.

Cafe de Manila: A Filipino Resto in Reno Nevada

They have been in Reno for quite a while now but it was only this trip to Reno that we were able to check it out. We had brunch last Friday and dinner last night. At brunch, we had Bangsilog, vegetable lumpia, Bulalo, Bistek Tagalog and Omelet. The foods were “so so”. We did not take picture that time. And I did not think I was gonna come back again.

A Pinoy co-worker of my son mentioned that he likes their kare-kare and sisig so I thought to give it another try, hence, the dinner last night. It was actually not bad! This time, we had Kare-kare and sizzling pork sisig of course, Pork sinigang, Pinakbet, vegetable lumpia and Pinoy french fries for hubby, Halo-halo and Leche flan.

Next time I will have pancit bihon and pancit canton together (Bam-i) and crispy pork belly. He said, “If I would get tired of their vegetable lumpia (the only food he likes so far), I can eat at the KFC nearby”. Poor hubby, hehe! He loved their Halo-halo though.

Japan Online Live Seller: Daisy Rallos

Another Facebook live seller that I like and would recommend is Ms. Daisy Rallos from Choba, Japan. She is originally from Leyte, Philippines. She sells pre-loved high end brand of jewelries, bags/purses, wallets and other accessories. She priced her items very reasonably and I have bought a Spring themed Burberry umbrella which I have not used to this day and a Fendi scarf from her last year. The items came in as described and I love the "Blendy sticks" coffee she included in my package as freebies.

Ms. Daisy has her fair share of viewers and patrons but she cannot give 100% time to her business because her husband and her daughter are her top priority. Whenever her husband comes home in the middle of her live selling, she would quit right there and then and bid her viewers goodbye at once and for that, she gained my respect.

As a seller, she is honest, she makes sure she mentions every flaw she finds in the items she is selling. She is funny and she laughs at her heart's content whenever something amuses her while doing live selling. Because we are also friends on Facebook, I have always loved her random funny videos and silly photos she posted.

She has a pleasant personality. She recognizes her mistake and apologizes for it. However, like any other online sellers or any other human beings so to speak, she can be mean and brutal too so to all the scammers, bogus buyers and joy miners out there, consider this a warning! Hehehe!

Japan Online Seller: Marvi Joy Buico

It was Marvin Joy Buico and his mom Sheila Marie Ikema from Osaka, Japan who kind of introduced me to pre-loved items from Japan. I somehow bumped into them on Facebook and initially enjoyed watching them together. I got really hooked when I learned that they are originally came from Kitcharao, Surigao del Norte, a few hours from my birthplace Bangonay, Jabonga, Agusan del Norte.

Marvin and his mom do not really look like mother and son. They look like they are siblings. They are really good entertainers because they can sing and dance. Their favorite background song is Material Girl by Madonna and eventually, Marvin indeed became a "Material Girl" and he doesn't deny it. We are friends on Facebook and I had seen the evolution of him in the material world.

At some point, I wanted to buy this fabulous Louis Vuitton bag from him but he always has too many buyers with high speed internet connection compared to mine so there was no way I could compete. I did not try again because I have had found several live sellers along the way. But whenever he is live during my free time, I still would watch him to get entertained.

If you wanted to watch his live video to see his high end items, just find him on Facebook. The last time I know he had reached 5K friends already and cannot add anymore, or was it his mom, I am a little confuse now.

Homemade Cookies, anyone?

Today, hubby baked cookies for 24 elderly people in the community as Christmas gifts thru Assay Lab, my work place. He baked Macadamia, peanut butter, chocolate chips and double chocolate chips (my favorite) and sugar cookies. The cookies in the pic above were the leftovers. I did not have a photo of Macadamia ones.

We put them into a tin container after putting them in a treat bag. We individually wrapped the chocolate chips and double chocolate chips in a water cellophane so that the other kinds will not smell and taste like chocolate chips cookies.

This is how it looks when the treat bag is tied up. It is pretty, ain't it?

Looking at these sweet delights is making me happy.

I was planning to wrap around the four sides of the tin with these ribbons and put the bow at the top. I thought I grabbed the bag of bows at the store but apparently not because I could not find them. I did not have a choice except to make the bows out of the ribbons

and I couldn't believe I really made them! They are beautiful!

Phillip Stein Watch is My Christmas Gift To Myself

My late friend Vanessa introduced me to Philip Stein and I was thinking to buy one for me in the future but I have forgotten about it until my cruise trip last July. Philip Stein watches were promoted by the Celebrity Cruise shops and sold in many different Jewelry shops in Skagway, Ketchikan and Juneau, Alaska. I actually went to one of the shops that time but I did not buy one even though my husband approved so. The reason was because the sales clerk was not that good in sales talk, hahaha, he was boring. Perhaps he thought I was just window shopping. Oh well.

Then I bumped into a thread online about Philip Stein watches last week and the rest is history.

I love it because of its unique design and it has two clocks, I use one for US and the other one for Japan (my daughter lives there at the moment). Also, Philip Stein has a natural frequency technology which helps our body feel less stress, more energy and sleep better.

The Tale of my Beautiful Pair of Earrings and my Choker

A couple years ago I bought a beautiful pair of gold hoop earrings online but when they came in they were too big on me. I was thinking to give it to a close friend for Christmas since she loves huge hoop earrings. I misplaced them somehow. I looked everywhere but to no avail. It was indeed frustrating.

Fast forward, the other day, I decided to toss the special candies I got from a friend and co-worker who came back from Ireland in the Hershey's candy dish which had been sitting in my book shelves for quiet a while already. When I opened it, lo and behold!, there I saw my earrings inside! With the earrings is the choker with a heart-shaped glass pendant my husband bought for me on one of our trips to Phoenix! The latter was honestly forgotten as well.

It is weird finding them inside the candy dish! Anyhow, I am keeping them because they look good on me when I tried them on, especially now that I am wearing very short hair.

I am happy to find them again but I wish I found the important one that I lost instead, (my TIN card). I have no idea when did I lost it. I did not know it was not on my files until I needed it last September.

At any rate, I am thankful and I am sure I am going to enjoy my earrings and my choker!

KTV Place Review: Alimes KTV Bar, San Francisco, Agusan del Sur

I had a great time at this place during my vacation in Pinas last September with my cousins and batch mates! It is a new hang out place away from town.

The place has a welcoming ambiance and feels. The staff are very polite and they know what they are doing. The restroom is clean and you can just flush down the toilet after use, (no need to use or look for a bucket of water to flush it). I gave an emphasis on this restroom thing because I went to this establishment in town, a kind of newly installed as well, their restroom stunk because the water is not available inside, you have to grab a bucket from outside to flush the toilet and not every user would care to do it.

Anyway, we came in a little late, no vacant VIP room so we are a little disappointed but a staff took us to the “bar” which has disco ball lights and upbeat music, and there, we danced for an hour or two with echecherias and flavored beers. The best part was when we danced Budots and Momoland’s “Baam” and “Bboom Bboom”, thanks to Girlie’s daughter who taught us the dance steps!

Around midnight we were able to get a vacant private room slash VIP room after the staff made sure it was thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. The room is cozy and it has a sink and a restroom inside! If you had too much beer and you felt like you want to throw up, the sink is just right there 3-foot away, at your service! Or, if you wanted to do it discreetly, the restroom is just few steps away. Fancy! And here is another kicker, it has a Wifi, too! Getting in touch with your loved ones while having fun with your friends is still possible. Or, the beautiful selfie of yours or “groupie” could be posted right away on Instagram or Facebook. How cool, yeah?

The rate is Php 120.00 per hour and we only stayed one hour because it was late already. The singing was awesome! I did not sing because I did not want to ruin the night, hahaha! The song “She’s gone” by Steelheart rendered by my close friend/HS classmate Estela, was impressive! It gave me an LSS and I actually just played it on YouTube last night.

I highly recommend this place! The rate per hour is not really bad and the room can accommodate a large group plus the staff are wonderful. However, I warn you guys to make sure you have a ride going home after the good times, otherwise, you will end up waiting for a ride in vain. We actually encountered this problem but we got rescued, thanks to my beloved cousins. The ride going home made that night more fun and memorable!

Meet my super girl!

She attended 13-week boot camp in Parris Island, South Carolina. I was not really very supportive of her decision but eventually, I realized that she is already 27 years old and that she can do what she wants.

The process was not easy. She had to gain more weight in order to get in. It was really exhausting emotionally in my part and I thanked God because my daughter made it! Seeing her after 13 weeks was one of the best times of my life. I cried buckets of tears though!
