While walking through the interview zone, Saifi spotted writer Asma Halimi, who works for Algerian newspaper Competition, and struck her with his open hand in front of dozens of witnesses. Halimi responded by striking the player in the mouth.
Saifi then threw a sports drink bottle at a wall in the interview area, as Halimi was ushered away by security staff.
Saifi came on as substitute for the last five minutes of the USA’s 1-0 victory.
“I said nothing to him and he reached over and hit me,” Halimi said to Yahoo! Sports. “So I hit him back. I said nothing to him first.”
It is understood that Saifi and Halimi had previously had a difference of opinion over an article she wrote for her newspaper.
“She was standing there and the guy came here and he hit her,” said Francisco Aguilar Chang, a reporter from Guatemala who witnessed the incident. “Then she hit him back and her nail caught his lip.”
Saifi and Algerian football association officials refused to comment when quizzed by Yahoo! Sports.
The Algerian team has come under heavy criticism in its homeland after a disappointing World Cup in which it finished at the bottom of Group C and was knocked out of the tournament.
When asked if she would launch an official complaint with governing body FIFA and the Algerian FA. Halimi replied: “Of course.”

Lee Alexander McQueen, CBE (16 March 1969 – 11 February 2010) was an English fashion designer known for his unconventional designs and shock tactics. McQueen worked as the head designer at Givenchy for five years before founding the Alexander McQueen and McQ labels. McQueen's dramatic designs, worn by celebrities including Rihanna and Lady Gaga, met with critical acclaim and earned him the British Fashion Designer of the Year award on four separate occasions. McQueen died at his home on 11 February 2010.

While on Savile Row, McQueen's clients included Mikhail Gorbachev and Charles, Prince of Wales; McQueen recounted in an interview that he once wrote the words "I am a cunt" in biro into the sleeve lining of a suit he was working on for Prince Charles. At the age of 20, he spent a period of time working for Koji Tatsuno before travelling to Milan, Italy and working for Romeo Gigli.

McQueen returned to London in 1994 and applied to London's most prestigious fashion school, Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, to work as a pattern cutter tutor. Due to the strength of his portfolio he was persuaded by the Head of the Masters course to enroll in the course as a student. He received his Masters degree in Fashion design and famously, his graduation collection was bought in its entirety by influential fashion stylist Isabella Blow, who was said to have persuaded McQueen to change his name from Lee to Alexander (his middle name) when he subsequently launched his fashion career.

Icelandic singer Björk sought McQueen's work for the cover of her album Homogenic in 1997.

McQueen's death was announced on 11 February 2010, shortly after he was found dead at his home on Green Street, London W1, where paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.[2] McQueen's death came days before London Fashion Week, although McQueen was not scheduled to show. The Associated Press reported that the circumstances of the death indicated a possible suicide; Police have stated that the death was not suspicious, but have not confirmed that the death was a suicide.

On 3 February 2010, he wrote on his Twitter page that his mother had died the day before, adding: "RIP mumxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx." Four days later he wrote that he had had an "awful week" but said "friends have been great", adding: "now i have to some how pull myself together". Her funeral is due to take place on 12 February 2010.

US Porn industry Seeks Bailout

According to CNN.. Another major American industry is asking for assistance as the global financial crisis continues: Hustler publisher Larry Flynt and Girls Gone Wild CEO Joe Francis said Wednesday they will request that Congress allocate $5 billion for a bailout of the adult entertainment industry.

“The take here is that everyone and their mother want to be bailed out from the banks to the big three,” said Owen Moogan, spokesman for Larry Flynt. “The porn industry has been hurt by the downturn like everyone else and they are going to ask for the $5 billion. Is it the most serious thing in the world? Is it going to make the lives of Americans better if it happens? It is not for them to determine.”

Francis said in a statement that “the US government should actively support the adult industry's survival and growth, just as it feels the need to support any other industry cherished by the American people."

“We should be delivering [the request] by the end of today to our congressmen and [Secretary of the Treasury Henry] Paulson asking for this $5 billion dollar bailout,” he told CNN Wednesday.

Flynt and Francis concede the industry itself is in no financial danger — DVD sales have slipped over the past year, but Web traffic has continued to grow.

But the industry leaders said the issue is a nation in need. "People are too depressed to be sexually active," Flynt said in the statement. "This is very unhealthy as a nation. Americans can do without cars and such but they cannot do without sex."

"With all this economic misery and people losing all that money, sex is the farthest thing from their mind. It's time for congress to rejuvenate the sexual appetite of America. The only way they can do this is by supporting the adult industry and doing it quickly."

So far, there has been no congressional reaction to the request.

John Travolta Son is Dead

There is sad news this evening for the Travola family. Jett Travolta (seen here with the headset) the 16 year old son of actor John Travolta died recenctly in the Bahamas. The cause of the death is said to be a seizure at his family's vacation home at the Old Bahama Bay Hotel on Grand Bahama Island according to news reports.

We would like to express our condolances to the family and friends of Jett.

Mother Tied and Abadoned Baby to attend show

It has been reported in the Jamaican news media that an infant baby girl was tied up by her mother and left in an abandoned building near the May Pen Cemetery on Spanish Town Road.
According to news reports the woman abandoned the baby girl in oder to attend a the Sting Dancehall Show in Portmore St. Catherine.
The police have arrested the 19 year old mother and is expected to lay charges against her.

The baby girl was taken to hospital after she was found by a passerby inside the old animal hospital on Spanish Town Road shortly after eight on Friday night.

The mother was held early Saturday morning on her way from Sting.

This is the song called "Barack the Magic Negro", written by Paul Shanklin. According to CNN the song is on a Cd which was given as a christmas gift by a candidate for the Republican National Committee chairmanship, which he said was clearly intended to be a joke. The song is a take off "Puff the Magic Dragon" and is said to be first played on the Rush Limbaugh's radio show last year. The CD is said to be entitled "we hate the USA" includes songs that refer to fomer candidate John Edwards and the controversial Pastor Rev. Wright. According to CNN the CD included songs entitled "John Edwards' Poverty Tour," "Wright place, wrong pastor," "Love Client #9," "Ivory and Ebony" and "The Star Spanglish Banner."

Passenger Jeniffer Feitz Gone Overboard

There have been reports that 36 Year Old Jennifer Feitz is reported missing aboard a passnger cruise ship the Norwegian Pearl. Reports are that Mrs. Feitz might have some how gone overboard, as her husband reported missin according to the authorities, between the hours of 4am to 6am eastern time on Friday. The vessel was some 15 miles outside of the shores of Cancun Mexico. An extensive search that including the Mexican Coast Guard is being conducted and thus far has proven futile.

This is the Norwegian Pearl not the Black Pearl as was popular in Pirates of the Caribbean movie... and yes Cancun is some distance away from the Somalian Pirates, so this one looks a little bit fishy...there has no report of any note left behind. We will see how this one unfolds.

It seems number really matters. No country can compete with China and India's massive population of well over 2 billion people. This is a hub for cheap labour and all other factors for factories to thrive. The current financial crisis will cause a little dent in the rapid growth of China and India economic growth. These countries among others have benefited tremendously from migrating factories and businesses from the US and other countries with higher labour cost. The ironic thing is that the man in America that lost his job to migrating businesses will have his spending power diminished, thus he cant buy the goods from the factories that have now set up shop in China and India thus affecting their economies. The labourers in China and India among other countries are now demanding higher wages and there is about to be some "freeing up" on the Chinese currency putting further pressure on their goods but with 2 billion people I don't think these countries have anything to worry about just yet.
The US presidential election candidates are focusing on the working class of America that have been affected by the movement of business from the US to developing countries. They would have to come up with something else because whether it is high tech or low tech the competition from all over the world is so strong we will not see any change in the next ten years.
With the globalisation effect manufacturing companies had no choice but to stay alive by migrating but this will finally take its toll. It cannot continue with out any serious domino effect - we are seeing some of this in the current financial meltdown.
