I'm a foodie with a love for K-Pop and K-Dramas and I'll be filling this blog up with my personal takes on these things and more. Comments and feedback are welcome. I learned through friends and All Kpop that SHINee's leader, Jonghyun passed away from suicide. For fans, like a friend of mine, a light was dimmed forever. We will never fully understand his thoughts leading up to his death...but from just observation, the K-pop culture lended a hand in that direction. Years of training, years of pushing, practices, non-stop schedules, all the doings of labels

FOODIE RECIPE:  EASY FRIED SHRIMP PUFFS Hi there! Hope you're doing well! As you can see from the gap between this post and the last post, I was taking a break, a really long one, from K-Drama recaps and news. But I wanted to share this really easy recipe that I had done (really, it is super easy!) of a dumpling that I've been eating at Chinese Dim Sum houses/restaurants all over. (This

U-Kiss fans in Hawaii have been buzzing in excitement after seeing U-Kiss cutie, Eli, posting he was heading to Hawaii on his Twitter account. Side note: I loved him in K-Pop Tasty Road with NS Yoon-G! And was so excited that he was visiting. Apparently he is also here for Full House China, a drama that he is currently promoting. I hope the weather cooperates for them! Almost 12 hours later,

FT Island Comes Back with New Album and New Reality TV Show My K-Pop/Rock group will always be first and foremost, FT Island. The five member group comprised of lead singer Lee Hong Ki, leader and lead guitarist Choi Jong Hun, vocals and bass guitarist Lee Jae Jin, vocals and guitarist Song Seung Hyun and drummer Choi Min Hwan are just about the goofiest and adorable band I have ever seen.

It's hard for me sometimes to keep up with the comings and goings of K-Pop idols on social media. It seems at times that they come and go as they please like the ebb and flow of a tide. Since my biases are mainly FT Island and CNBlue and sometimes I like to blog about Super Junior, I mainly stick with them. But there's so many more idols out there, trust me. In the past I've blogged about

Over the years, lip syncing has been noted as a serious offense. It shows to fans that artists are "fake" and can't be trusted. And it tarnishes the reputations of other artists who have a real passion for their craft. Take for example one time R&B dance duo, Milli Vanilli, from the late 1980's and early 1990's. Fab Morvan and Rob Pilatus had a breakout with their hit, "Girl You Know It's

Lee Hong Ki as Count Dracula FT Island's front man, lead vocalist Lee Hong Ki, will be stretching his acting chops again. This time, he'll be tackling on the role of the most infamous and debonair monster of all time, Count Dracula. Many people know of Count Dracula as the one time Romanian Prince Vlad "the Impaler", known for impaling unlucky victims on stakes, hence the nickname. As well

CNBlue Bassist Lee Jungshin Oh the troubles of being an idol and doing fanservice. I think CNBlue bassist, Lee Jungshin, will need to be a little more aware of his surroundings from now on whenever he goes to greet their fans. The young idol went out to shake hands with fans after a concert in Hong Kong. As he was reaching out to some of them, he suddenly dropped off the edge of the stage,

It was announced back in February that KBS and the Korean American Federation of Los Angeles were teaming up together to put on a FREE K-Pop concert in Los Angeles on April 12th at the LA Memorial Coliseum. Yes, you read that right. I said "FREE". They weren't much details at that time, but today they sent out an update via social media that tickets were going on sale via Ticketmaster starting

Song Ji Hyo as Oh Jin Hee and Choi Jin Hyuk as Oh Chang Min I've been taking a break from blogging to deal with overall general craziness at work and family. And also to try to get a handle on my personal life. And I came to a realization one day that lives are just one big K-Drama. I've been watching a drama called, "Emergency Couple" (응급남녀; RR: Eunggeubnamnyeo; lit. "Emergency Man and

In case you have missed the news, Lee Hong Ki, FT Island's charismatic lead singer, opened up his own Instagram account in the past week. He has known to be really active on his social media accounts and it looks like he finally joined the crowd on Instagram. His first posts were of a video of his little dog and of him at what looked to be like a spa with a quizzical look on his face. If

FT Island's Lee Jae Jin at his interview in January 2014 I can't believe I totally missed this bit of news. He always seems to be such an independent person. But in an interview last week, FT Island's bassist, Lee Jae Jin openly admitted on camera that he is currently dating someone! He won't say who it is, of course, although the reporters bless their hearts did try. But he confirmed many

The K-PopRock wave has once again reached the shores of the United States. FNC group CNBlue is currently in the Big Apple having just finished the first concert of their U.S. Blue Moon tour on January 21st. Despite frigid temperatures, fans waited out in the cold for almost 7 hours in hopes of seeing them. Good lord! Those are some dedicated Boices! They weren't disappointed though as CNBlue

Where did the rest of 2013 go? It seems like the last half of the year just blew by so fast for me! But... I am very happy that 2014 is finally here. Happy New Year everyone near and far! If you've been checking up on this site, you will see that I haven't been posting for quite a while. So my apologies to all since I pretty much kept whatever I was working on hanging in limbo. Over the past week, I've watched in horror as the biggest typhoon ever hit the Philippines. Super Typhoon Haiyan has caused much devastation. It leveled houses, reduced buildings to rubble, farmland and livestock is basically gone. And the people...oh my God...families, friends, loved ones all strewn about. In just one area there are thousands missing, dead or displaced from their homes. (Click

Shortly after tweeting a cute and playful photo of himself wearing Asiana Airlines mitts, Super Junior's Shindong, posted another photo of  four burgers about to be consumed at a local Honolulu, Hawaii burger restaurant called Kuaaina Burgers. The photo showed four perfectly grilled pineapple burgers, a favorite on the menu, with sides of fries. Late last year, FT Island's bassist, Lee Jaejin, deleted his Twitter account. Since then, fans have been begging him to go back on, but to no avail. However, he has started his own Instagram account and has begun to actively use it. He began to post photos on September 6th and as of this post, his account has over 30k followers. So although fans have lost him permanently on Twitter, fans

In a previous post, I mentioned that members of popular K-Pop group Super Junior (along with f(x)'s Victoria) were selected as the new models for Asian beauty product line Tony Moly. Now, it looks like the guys are working on more than just looking handsome for their advertisements. Members Donghae and Ryeowook hinted at a collaboration with Eunhyuk and Henry(?). It was announced though their official Facebook site that the handsome K-PopRock group, FT Island, will be releasing their 6th and newest Korean mini album titled, "Thanks To"!As a sort of tribute to their fans, the five have embarked on a tour specially for the fans who have given them so much support called, "FTHX" or FT Thanks. It seems that they've translated this to their new anniversary

Tony Moly store in Singapore. I was looking for new fodder to blog about. I've been feeling very distressed that I haven't had my fix of dramas for a while. And writing reviews/recaps of "We Got Married Global" just wasn't coming along anymore. I mean, how are you supposed to write recaps when the show is already done?? I felt that the end was spoiled already. Anywhoo...I guess you're

I remember seeing this guy on Boys Before Flowers years ago. He was in the early years, performing with SS501. They were the 2nd generation eye candy K-Pop group. They had the looks, they had the moves, they had the catchy songs and voices to hook in the crowds. After they disbanded a couple of years ago, Double S fans were disappointed. And there are still some that hope that they will get

I had thought about what to write for my one year anniversary post. (I can't believe it's already been one year of blogging!) And I was going to do it on another review of an episode of We Got Married Global, or FT Island, or even CNBlue. And then lo and behold...the princes of SM flew into town! The first major storm of the typhoon season! (That I've heard of.) Typhoons, hurricanes, monsoons, whatever you call them, it's never pretty nor should they be taken lightly. A huge storm is developing out in the Pacific north of the Philippines with the potential to become bigger. With winds up to almost 145 mph, Typhoon Soulik doesn't look like it's weakening any and may turn into a Super
