This was as a result of the concept that every person has a limited capability and have been determined by destiny. All of us including me have been sunk in thought and concept. If we are in a negative state or afraid of something that will happen in the future, we always draw conclusions on the concept of destiny ourselves.
We should continue to believe about ourselves, should think positive but by no means be aggressive, but be sure and hold fast to the belief that we can reach what we want.
People who think negatively always apply a negative atmosphere and the conditions too, so they easily run into trouble after trouble. People who think positively attract positive things, so that they can achieve success after success. Few people realize that the law thinks it is the greatest reality, by thinking we can get things done. If we can understand the power of the mind, we will be watching our thoughts carefully in order not to be entered with the thoughts that we do not want.
We can control our minds by way of keeping not be penetrated by negative thoughts. Every day we can practice it by saying that no finite mind can enter the brain. Let us decorate ourselves, our homes and our businesses with the flow of positive thoughts. Because only with this we will always be approached with things the best.

BENEFITS OF TRAINING BRAIN / MIND POWER:

Understand and be grateful how great your brain.

The mind is similar to a constantly flowing spring however a natural spring cannot send forth fresh water and bitter from the same opening, nor yield both salt water and fresh. So it is with the mind and its thoughts; it cannot equally think negative and positive thoughts at the same time. One will rule the other.

Since the mind reflects habitual thoughts, it is therefore our responsibility to influence our mind and brain with positive emotions, thoughts and energy as the dominating factors in our mind. Mind power is beyond positive thinking or brain power, it is thinking than believing what you think that will manifest your reality. Since this mind power is power of thought and beliefs, and these thoughts and beliefs will create the outcome of your now, you will want to stay aware to the reflections you are thinking.

Now mind power is a dual system that includes your power of thought(brain) and your subconscious mind. We all have subconscious mind power; it can be as small as smiling at your boss in the hopes of improving the odds of acquiring a raise.
2. How to use Subconscious Mind for success
Mind power is our conscious mind, the way we think. The mind is similar to a constantly flowing spring however a natural spring cannot send forth fresh water and bitter from the same opening, nor yield both salt water and fresh. So it is with the mind and its thoughts; it cannot equally think negative and positive thoughts at the same time. One will rule the other.

It can be the way you unconsciously handle a situation whether appropriately or not. Power of the subconscious mind comes from the thoughts and beliefs of your the power of the your mind. However you think and believe is what your subconscious mind power will produce. This is done continuously, one minute at a time. Every thought nourished regularly by your mind power will activate your subconscious mind to generate those thoughts and energy whether good or bad into your life. This is how you’re present and future is created.

Your mind power and your subconscious mind work together and they fashion your reality. Let’s use a parallel to help you visualize how this works. Your subconscious mind power is similar to fertile soil that consents to any seed planted inside it. Your habitual thoughts and beliefs are the seeds which are being continually sown and they will eventually produce a crop. So if you plant weeds you will get weeds, if you plant fruit, you will get fruit. In other words, you reap what you sow. Now the conscious mind is the gardener, and it is the mind power to choose what reaches our inner garden- the subconscious.

The term mind power and the subconscious mind power are described in many different ways. In the psychosomatic sense mind power is labeled as ability to have emotions, imagination, memory, and will; and subconscious mind power is labeled as part of the normal individual’s personality in which mental processes function without consciousness under normal waking conditions.

Unfortunately, most of us do not have green thumbs because of lack of knowledge of this law, the psychology behind this success and because of this ignorance we have allowed all kinds of seeds, both good and bad, to enter. So our subconscious mind power will manifest failure, ill health and all kinds of misfortunes just as effortlessly as it will manifest success and abundance. However, it cannot manifest it both at the same time, which is why the need to constantly actuate the positive until the fertile soil of your subconscious mind power reaps only abundance. Success is only a choice away.

Mind Power Into the 21st Century

In Mind Power Into the 21st Century, John Kehoe has articulated a set of life-changing principles for charting a course to success and happiness.
The researchers, a team from Duke University Medical Center, discovered an increased incidence of cardiac arrest in the United States between January 2008 and July 2009, precisely when the stock market showed a clear decline in the midst of a massive economic crisis. Although the scientists determined in subsequent tests that this inverse relationship wasn’t quite as pronounced as they believed initially (due to seasonal fluctuations in heart attack rates), their study remains groundbreaking in terms of its efforts to explore a rarely covered topic: the impact of economic patterns on cardiovascular events.

It may come as no surprise to some that heart attacks go up when the NASDAQ goes down—after all, a great deal of circumstantial evidence suggests that stress is associated with heart disease and early death. But your ticker isn’t the only thing those negative shifts in the ticker tape affect. As it turns out, economic strain manifests itself in all kinds of subtler ways as well.

The Hemline Index

One of the first individuals to start paying attention to the far-reaching implications of financial trouble was American economist George Taylor, who in 1926 developed a theory that the length of women’s skirts and dresses was directly related to the state of the U.S. economy. Taylor’s hypothesis, which he coined the “hemline index,” postulated that short skirts mean boom times and longer ones equal falling markets.

Since then, his prophecy has proven eerily accurate time and again, most recently in 2008, when Claire Brayford, writing for the U.K. Express, remarked, “Anyone applying this theory to the New York autumn/winter 2008 shows … would predict that we are hurtling towards a recession. Hemlines … were all resolutely below the knee—a clear indication of belt tightening, both fashionable and not so fashionable.” Brayford’s astute analysis of this connection was that “a glimpse of leg gives a sense of independence and confidence; a sweeping skirt is a sign of modesty and austerity.”

Smoke, No Joke

Also in 2008, the American Legacy Foundation, a prominent anti-tobacco institution, hired Harris Interactive to poll cigarette smokers in the United States regarding their nicotine intake during the financial crisis. Seventy-seven percent of the respondents stated that they were more stressed because of the economy, and of these individuals, an alarming two-thirds claimed their smoking habits were impacted as a result. Thirty-one percent of the female smokers surveyed and 17 percent of the males were smoking a greater quantity of cigarettes each day; 20 percent of middle-income smokers had put off quitting; and, ironically, smokers in the lowest income bracket reported smoking more than individuals in the higher brackets.

Shape Shifters

When psychology professor Terry F. Pettijohn II and his colleague Brian J. Jungeberg set out to analyze the physical characteristics (both facial and bodily) of four decades’ worth of Playboy Playmates of the Year in conjunction with U.S. social and economic factors, they uncovered an astonishing link between the two sets of data. Based on Playmates from 1960 to 2000, the researchers’ Environmental Security Hypothesis states that in dire financial times, men prefer older, taller women who appear sturdy and capable, with larger waist-to-hip ratios, smaller bust-to-waist ratios, and lower body mass indexes. On the other hand, when money is no object, men’s ideal female is younger, shorter, and curvier, with larger eyes, features that connote more, well, playful qualities.

Musical Mutations

Another research endeavor Pettijohn spearheaded, this one with Donald F. Sacco Jr., compared the Billboard No. 1 songs for every year between 1955 and 2003 with the changing U.S. social and economic climate during those years. Published in Psychology of Music and focusing on the specific characteristics of songs, this study revealed that the most popular tunes during tough times were longer, slower, and more romantic, comforting, and meaningful. As Pettijohn explained to New York Times writer Tamar Lewin in 2008, “it’s ‘Bridge over Troubled Water’ and ‘That’s What Friends Are For.’ In better times, it’s more likely to be faster, more upbeat songs like ‘At the Hop’ or ‘My Sharona.’”

Flying Off the Shelves

Grocery store and drugstore inventories also experience some interesting shifts as the economy ebbs and flows. Leo Shapiro, the chief executive of Chicago consulting firm SAGE, told the New York Times, “During a recession, laxatives go up, because people are under tremendous stress, and holding themselves back. During a boom, deodorant sales go up, because people are out dancing around.” And Bob Holt, author of Views from the Cheap Seats, declares on his Web site, “Some products are bucking the recession and flying off store shelves. Sales of chocolate and running shoes are up. Wine drinkers haven’t stopped sipping; they just seem to be choosing cheaper vintages … Strong sales of Spam, Dinty Moore stew, and chili helped Hormel Foods Corp. post a 6 percent increase in first quarter sales in its grocery products unit … Profits in the first three months of 2009 at Hershey Co., the nation’s second-largest candy maker, surged 20 percent and beat Wall Street’s expectations. Kraft Foods Inc. reported double-digit growth in macaroni and cheese dinners—the consummate comfort food.

Dollars and Sense

During the current recession, Americans’ primary focus is on securing new jobs or holding on to the ones they have, shoring up their savings, and adopting no-frills spending habits—and rightfully so. In times when we’re all just trying to get by, it’s not surprising that we don’t readily notice less overt details like dropping hemlines, out-of-stock signs where Pepto-Bismol should be on stores’ shelves, or the fact that the songs on constant rotation on our iPods aren’t upbeat dance music. But the reality of the U.S. economy, with all its highs and lows, is that it leaves no stone unturned in this country’s retail and entertainment industries—for as the old saying goes, “When money talks, people listen.” Think about that the next time you put on a miniskirt.

Top Ten Traits of a Financial Ally

Transparency has been a big buzzword since Obama took office. How transparent are your personal finances to you? Is anyone accountable for them besides you? If you’re in the dark because money matters overwhelm you, it could help to get yourself a financial ally. What makes a financial ally?
10. An honest partner that keeps me on track with my financial goals.
9. The knowledge that at any stage in my life, I know I’m fully supported, and have something or someone mirroring back my financial reality.
8. A financial workout partner, who reminds me that bathing suit season is around the corner.
7. A program or schedule that reflects, “Remember your plan? Are you spending according to your plan?”
6. Feedback on a regular basis that shows me: Here’s what you earned and here’s what you spent. Now what do you want to do?

5. Shows me my financial history in the making.
4. Projects my cash flow months ahead, to help me plan for my future.
3. Tells me the truth about my money situation at all times.
2. Gives me concrete data I can’t fudge.
1. Asks, “What do you want to do with your money?” Then says, “Let’s do it together. I’ll help.”
Communing with your cash flow does not have to be difficult. Get together with a person or program, or a money-group of friends and neighbors. Fortify your financial worth together by holding yourselves accountable. There’s power in financial visibility. Start with an ally, and watch how you grow.

Mind Power Meditation News

Harvard professor Ellen Langer’s research transformed psychology. Now she wants it to transform you.
The Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health is housed in a former Jesuit seminary built in the 1950s, on a rise with broad views of the Berkshires. The long hallways have the institutional feel of a high school, except that everyone is speaking in respectful tones, and rolled yoga mats are everywhere, like baguettes in Doisneau’s Paris. On the walls are limited-edition photographs of lean people doing yoga in front of moss-dappled Indian shrines. At the gift shop on an early February weekend, visitors could have their tarot read, or a photographic portrait taken of their aura. And one of the featured speakers, offering a weekend-long seminar, was a senior professor at Harvard University, Ellen Langer.

Langer is a famous psychologist poised to get much more famous, but not in the ways most researchers do. She is best known for two things: her concept of mindlessness – the idea that much of what we believe to be rational thought is in fact just our brains on autopilot – and her concept of mindfulness, the idea that simply paying attention to our everyday lives can make us happier and healthier. She was Harvard’s first tenured woman professor of psychology, and her discoveries helped trigger, among other things, the burgeoning positive-psychology movement. Her 1989 book, “Mindfulness,” was an international bestseller, and she remains in high demand as a speaker everywhere from New York’s 92d Street Y to the leadership guru Tony Robbins’s Fiji resort. And now a movie about her life is in development with Jennifer Aniston signed on to star as Langer.

While other researchers might blanch at the Hollywoodization of their work, for Langer it’s almost an organic development – part of a long journey to bring the message of her research to the masses. Langer’s reputation in the field of social psychology rests on a set of ingenious experiments that expose the strange power of the mind to fool itself and to transform the body. In one of her best-known studies, she found that giving nursing home residents more control over their lives made them live longer. In more recent work, she made hotel maids lose weight simply by telling them that their work burned as many calories as a typical workout. And in the study at the center of the Aniston movie, a team led by Langer found that instructing a group of elderly men to talk and act as if they were 20 years younger could reverse the aging process.

Makin’ Lemonade: How to Take Control of Your Money

Sometimes good things come out of bad situations. I know you know this is true and that at some point in your life, you’ve experienced this. Likewise, there are good things that can come out of the horrible year we had financially in 2008 and into 2009.

First of all, Americans have been notorious for a lack of focus regarding savings. Most of us have been indoctrinated by advertisements from credit card companies to believe that that credit is good; you can charge your way to happiness and pay back the money owed at your leisure.

As a result, few people have taken the time to set aside substantial savings out of their earnings—studies show most people have no savings at all. Now, Economics and Investing 101 tell us to always start out with debt reduction before you save or invest. Then, when the credit cards are paid off, start a savings account equal to at least six months’ of your expenses just in case your work goes out from under you (which is much more likely in this economy than in that of last seventy-five years).

Then, and only then, can (and should) you begin to put aside money for an investment portfolio made up of equities, real estate, bonds or various other implements to make your future more secure.

So forgetting what 2008 and 2009 might have done to your stock portfolio or your retirement account, press on in 2010 to make lemonade out of the lemons. Sit down and take that deep breath. We all need to clear the cobwebs and give ourselves an objective view of our situation today.

List your assets in terms of what you own, and what do you still have in your brokerage accounts or banks? Do you have any savings at all to speak of? Then make another column to list your liabilities: what do you owe on your home, your car, and your credit cards?

The first, absolutely the most essential, goal is to pay down those nasty credit cards. You probably won’t be able to pay off your home if you have a mortgage, but that’s okay. If you can pay down the credit debt, you’ll be amazed by both the financial and psychological benefits you’ll experience.

How are you going to do this? Work out a plan. Can you work more hours at your job, put in some overtime so that you can apply that additional paycheck amount directly to your debt? Is there something else you can do on Saturdays for a few months to give you some additional money? Now, I know in this economy people are more worried about keeping the jobs they already have than adding new ones, but it never hurts to think about this.

And here’s where the good also comes from the bad: Americans are also notorious for indulging their every whim, pampering themselves beyond measure compared to most of the world. What if you spent a year not buying cosmetics at the department store but chose to buy drugstore versions instead? What if you went to the library to borrow books rather than hurrying down to Barnes and Noble or going online to Amazon whenever you wanted something to read?

What if you didn’t eat out three times a week, but cut it down to twice, or even once? What if you split meals at restaurants and banked the difference in savings? In other words, look at your life and figure out where—for one year—you can make cuts that will engender a sizeable amount of cash into your wallet.

Make it a challenge, or even a game; put together a contest with your friends to see who can save the most money by making these kinds of cuts for a year. You’re not going to die if you walk a few blocks rather than take the subway or drive your car, right? You might even wind up with additional benefits such as better health, weight loss, or just the general feeling of having done something you set out to do that would benefit yourself and others.

Go for it. Be in control of your finances in a way you haven’t been for many years, and you will most likely experience a joy and a self-confidence that’s worth its weight in gold. Listen, there are enough things in life that we have no control over, so why not look at those things we can exercise a little control about, and use them to our advantage? Lemonade that you’ve squeezed yourself from your own lemons is even sweeter than store-bought!
I continued his arduous mission, looking for mental health while facing the dangers of absurdity and violence. Today I give you all the answers that Jung could not give to the world, continuing his path, and only disagreeing with his last conclusions.
He still ignored too much, besides discovering the right way to translate dreams.
If you have followed my articles online you certainly already know that our dreams are first of all pure psychotherapy; but after eliminating all the dangers of absurdity for the human being, the process through which he passes when translating his dreams and following the wise guidance of the unconscious mind that produces the dreams, is a process of development of his intelligence.
The scientific translation of the dream messages provides an accurate notion of the meaning of dreams and real comprehension of the guidance contained in the dream messages. This is something that everyone verifies in practice by doing what the unconscious mind shows them in their own dreams.
The dream messages are always protective, because the wise unconscious mind is always trying to help you become wiser.
As your intelligence is developed, you acquire mind power. You stop being an ignorant creature that doesn't know what could happen in the future or who cannot control his destiny. The notions you acquire about the reality where you are open a new horizon before your eyes.
When you become more intelligent, you can have everything that you desire, and your intelligence is not based on cruel rationalism, because your sensitivity is developed too. This means that you are always balanced.
The protection you have translating your dreams and following the wise directions of the unconscious mind cannot be compared to any other kind of protection you could have.

Money cannot buy health or peace and knowledge alone cannot eliminate violence or terror. Only wisdom can give you everything.
And what is wisdom? Wisdom is real superiority.
Mind power is the power given to you by the wisdom you'll acquire, as you'll be able to observe analyzing your own dreams. This will give you the ability to positively influence the reality where you are, so that you may always have positive results in all fields.
The unconscious mind will reveal to you all dream secrets, helping you understand how to translate the dream messages much better. He will show you new aspects of reality, besides showing you also how this knowledge can help you achieve all your goals. The unconscious mind shows you everything, because he is your private doctor and teacher.
You only have to study and learn the dream language, the same way you study a foreign language, in order to be able to receive all the benefits given to you by the scientific dream interpretation, which exactly translates the dream messages.
Your mind will be clear, and you'll learn how to automatically solve many problems at the same time, besides avoiding bad results and bad relationships.
You'll prepare the positive future results you desire, positively influencing everyone around you, while feeling self-confident and safe all the time.

Mind power

STOCKBRIDGE – The Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health is housed in a former Jesuit seminary built in the 1950s, on a rise with broad views of the Berkshires. Like everything else in this course, the more time you put into improving your memory, the better it will become.

There are entire books written specifically on the subject of improving memory, packed with methods and systems designed to make you a memory master. Our goal, however, is to help you make better use of your memory by providing you with some basic techniques that you can learn and begin to employ immediately.

Acronyms

Most of us are familiar with the concept of acronyms, which is a way of making words from the first letters of other words.

Words such as 'Scuba' (Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus) and 'NATO' (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) have become 'words' in their own right, even though they started life as acronyms. Acronyms can be easier to remember than a whole list of words and will prompt us to recall the information by providing the first key letter of each word from the list.

If, for example, your partner has asked you to pick up some groceries on your way home from work, one easy way to remember (unless you've written it down!) what you need is to put it into an acronym. Suppose the list was bread, milk, an onion and some butter, you could rearrange the words so that their first letters spell out BOMB (bread, onion, milk, butter). That turns the whole thing into one short, easy to remember word from which the particular items can easily be extracted.

Acronyms can also be made to work the other way round. Anyone who has ever taken music lessons will probably be familiar with the saying 'Every good boy deserves favor', which is one way of remembering the names and the ascending order of the lines in the treble clef (EGBDF). This form of 'inverted' acronym works particularly well when the item to be remembered doesn't actually make a word in the real sense, such as EGBDF.

You can also use this idea to remember lists of things, such as the order of the planets, the names of the bones in the human body, etc. Simply select the first letter of each word from the original list and use that letter to make a new word. In this way you can create your own memorable sayings that will help you call the list to mind whenever you need to.

For example, the order of the planets from the sun is:

Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto.

By taking the first letter of each word and using it to make a new word, we could devise something like this:

Most Vicars Eat Mainly Jam Sandwiches Until Nine Pm.

It doesn't really matter what words you use to create your memorable saying, as long as it helps you remember the information in your original list.

Numbers and 'Acro-numbers'

So many numbers to remember! PIN numbers, alarm codes, home telephone and cell phone numbers; the list seems to get longer every day. So it helps if you can find a system that makes remembering these numbers easier.

For smaller groups of numbers we can use a similar system to that used in the inverted acronym formula above. Say, for example, if your PIN number was 3346. To remember it every time, all you need to do is substitute a word for each letter.

The trick is to use a three-letter word for the number 3, a four-letter word for the number 4 and a six-letter word for the number 6. Here's an example of what you might do:

3 = cat
3 = got
4 = your
6 = tongue

So, whenever you need to recall your PIN number, simply repeat the saying 'cat got your tongue' and you'll have the numbers in your head instantly!

It's also one of the great things about the human brain that it thrives on repetition. Just by using these systems as memory devices you'll increase your brain's capacity to remember things. And sooner or later you'll find yourself able to recall the number you're after without having to resort to a memory device of any kind.

You might be thinking that this method is a bit contrived and that we chose the numbers based on the actual saying. Even if that were true, it doesn't matter. Most banks nowadays will allow you to change your PIN number, usually straight from the ATM machine. So if you wanted to you could 'cheat' (not that we did!) and pick a number that suits one of your favorite expressions, such as 'getting in the Zone' (7234). This is a simple but effective way of making sure you never forget those important numbers ever again.

The Body Parts Technique

This is an effective method to remember lists of up to about ten different items. It works by associating each item with a separate part of your body, and then using your visualization skills to turn the list into a memorable narrative.

For best results try to use body parts that range from your head to your toe, including any 'parts' that make it easy for you to remember your 'story'. Here's an example of one way to apply this technique.

While driving home from work in your car, your partner telephones and you put the call through on your hands-free speaker. The message is simple: pick up some bread, wine, grapes, flowers, sugar, orange juice and aspirin. You can't write the items down because you're driving. So instead you use the body parts technique to remember the list until you get to the shop.

* Imagine your hair curled up like a bunch of grapes.
* You can smell roses but the scent is too strong and you're getting a headache.
* You raise your hand to drink a glass of wine which turns out to be orange juice.
* Your stomach rumbles and you'd really like a sandwich.
* You walk along a beach and feel the pure white grains of sand running through your toes.

The only limit to how far you can go with this technique is your imagination. You can use any body parts you like as long as you remember to make the words from your list memorable and sensually oriented (i.e. using as many senses as possible).

The Word Association Technique

Word association is one of the oldest and best ways to remember anything. This is because associating one word with another is exactly how the memory mechanism works in the first place.

When you think of a word, your mind immediately throws up associations with that word that have been gathered and stored in your memory over the years. For example, the word 'horse' might make you think of cowboys, the Wild West, racing, jockeys, a polo match, Black Beauty, and so on. The word 'cloud' might suggest a thunderstorm, television weather forecasts, rain or overcast skies.

So if your brain is capable of finding lots of different associations for each of these words on its own, then it will also be able to find associations between two or more different words. You might imagine a horse running through a pasture in the rain, or a horse galloping across the clouds in some fantastic adventure. The more imaginative you make the association the easier it will be for you to remember the words.

The next step is to try the same process with a larger group of words, creating associations between them just as you did with the horse and the cloud. Any list of words will do, up to a maximum of about 10 words long. Write the words down, and then immediately write the first thing that comes to your mind. If the first word is 'shoe' and you think of 'leather', then write that down straight away.

Do the same for all ten words, and then use the association principle to build a picture or story that helps you remember all of the words quickly and easily.

10 Profound Innovations That Will Change the Future

Today's world looks increasingly like the future. Robots work factory assembly lines and fight alongside human warriors on the battlefield, while tiny computers assist in everything from driving cars to flying airplanes.

Surgeons use the latest technological tools to accomplish incredible feats, and researchers push the frontiers of medicine with bioengineering. Science fiction stories about cloning and resurrecting extinct animals look increasingly like relevant cautionary tales.

But even the best of science and technology has yet to solve climate change and famine, or conquer disease. More and more people live on a planet with shrinking resources, which leads to political strife and conflict. Here, we examine some of the hottest areas where researchers hope to forge a better tomorrow.

No. 10: Read My Mind

True mind-reading devices remain in the realm of science fiction, and lie detectors rely on indirect cues to catch fibbers. Still, brain scans have allowed neuroscientists to predict what people will do during specific task experiments, and even to observe when a person will make a mistake up to half a minute beforehand. Another technique has used near-infrared light to figure out simple preferences based on brain activity. These feats rely on analyzing brain patterns that occur during specific actions, rather than truly cracking the brain's neural code, but they still have scientists and legal experts debating mind-privacy issues. Perhaps in the near future, they'll just use Twitter for a meeting of minds.

No. 9: Around the World in 90 Minutes

Phileas Fogg took 80 days to go around the world, but travelers may eventually hop halfway around the globe in less than an hour. The U.S. Air Force and Brazil are developing a Lightcraft concept that could someday ride laser-produced explosions into the sky, and deliver passengers or cargo around the world. Barring that wild ride, space planes that could take off and land like regular aircraft have begun undergoing serious development in the U.K. and United States, and some could fly within the next few years.

No. 8: A Perfect Artificial Limb

U.S. veterans and other prosthetic users may soon wield artificial hands, arms and legs as easily as they control their natural limbs. The most advanced prostheses tend to use "smart" microprocessors that act as tiny brains to anticipate how a user will walk or move an arm. But both monkeys and humans have already used brain signals alone to control robotic arms and digital applications, which paves the way for new brain interfaces with artificial limbs. Such technology could then retrofit the latest prostheses to give users ultimate control over that "Luke" Skywalker arm.

No. 7: Know It All

People could eventually hold a hitchhiker's guide to everything that they see. Pick up a carton of OJ in the supermarket, and nutritional comparisons about that brand would appear. Flip through a new bestseller in the bookstore, and reader reviews might flash on the pages. MIT has already unveiled a prototype of such a technology in 2009, which combines a webcam, a projector and a smart phone to link the Internet's vast array of information with the real world. Such wearable devices would work together with embedded "smart" systems and tags to create an augmented reality, where staring at a street might bring up GPS coordinates and a local map. In the 21st century, information reigns supreme.

No. 6: Regenerate the Body

No one has regenerative powers just yet, but patients can expect a growing array of therapies to repair or entirely replace organs in the human body. A British team grew the world's first artificial liver from umbilical cord stem cells in 2006, and other researchers have since found that even the heart may harbor stem cells capable of regenerating the organ. Adult stem cells have also helped restore eyesight using a patient's own healthy eye stem cells in an Australian study, and Chinese scientists demonstrated the potential of adult stem cells by creating live mice from reprogrammed skin cells. The future of individually-tailored organs and therapies may soon arrive.

No. 5: Feed the World

Solving world hunger represents an incredibly difficult task, given that the political situations and economics of each region bring their own complications. Nonetheless, scientists have moved to protect the important crops that feed most of the world. Researchers continue to develop different varieties of wheat, corn and rice that have greater yields and are more resistant to temperature changes, drought conditions and even insects. New information technologies can keep farmers updated on the condition of their crops and agricultural practices which preserve nutrient-rich soil in the long run. Even lab grown meat could help satiate the growing worldwide demand, if people can get over the ick factor. And if all else fails, scientists have stored thousands of seeds in a doomsday vault to safeguard the future of food.

No. 4: Eliminate Waste

New technologies look to turn all our trash into reusable materials. Chicken feathers and other agricultural castoffs could become the future of plastics. Biodegradable plastics that dissolve harmlessly in seawater might actually encourage people to throw their garbage into the ocean. Food scraps, sewage and other waste has already begun to fuel some power plants and generators for the U.S. Army and civilians alike. Achieving 100 percent sustainability may still sound daunting, but the efforts do add up. MIT researchers have even begun a Trash Track project to gauge the costs and patterns of waste disposal in New York, Seattle and London, in hopes of helping more people think green.

No. 3: Global Climate Control

Forget modest goals like trying to halt Mother Nature from raining on the Olympics. Geoengineering plans befitting Bond villains have become hot topics for the National Academy of Sciences, the American Meteorological Society and the White House science advisor. Ideas include lofting reflective particles up into the atmosphere to divert sunlight and cool the planet, or seeding the oceans with iron to encourage carbon-gobbling algae blooms. Even billionaire Bill Gates joined a patent filing on an idea to slow or stop hurricanes, by deploying a fleet of ships to churn the ocean and cool the warm surface water that fuels such storms. Climate control technologies have almost become reality, which raises the question of whether scientists and policymakers want to risk the side effects of such schemes.

No. 2: Harness the Sun's Fiery Furnace

Nuclear fusion has kept the sun shining for billions of years. Now scientists want to recreate that power on Earth and finally tap into fusion's unbeatable energy efficiency. Giant lasers at the National Ignition Facility could help along that breakthrough by focusing their power on a tiny hydrogen fuel pellet, and ideally release more energy than what the lasers require. Still more alternatives involve the magnetic confinement of high-temperature plasma involved in fusion, or even a rebranded form of cold fusion.

No. 1: Hack the Brain

Much of the human brain remains a mystery embedded in billions of neurons. Now researchers behind the Blue Brain Project have announced plans to create a functioning, artificial human brain within the next decade. They have already modeled part of an artificial rat brain using the IBM supercomputer Blue Gene, and said that the simulated brain cells have even begun self-organizing without human intervention. Success in reverse-engineering the brain could lead to a model for biomedical testing, as well as a better understanding of human consciousness. The researchers only caution that it's no artificial intelligence... at least, not yet.

Can Imaginary Exercise Make You Fit?

Breakthrough research in the field of exercise physiology has yielded stunning revelations about the way we get fit. The big surprise, though, is not what we “have” to do, but what we might “not” have to do.

Our thoughts can literally redefine the size, shape and strength of our bodies.

For decades, exercise scientists have worked to discover how we get fit. Getting stronger, we were told, was about creating enough resistance in a muscle to create millions of micro-tears that would, over days, weeks and months, rebuild themselves, bigger, leaner and stronger. So when we lift weights, sprint or engage in pretty much any kind of exercise, we set this whole process in motion.

The entire cycle is known as hypertrophy and it’s always been considered a pretty mechanical experience. Weight loss has been tossed off with similar assumptions. Regardless of he method used for short-term weight loss, sustained loss always comes back to calories in and calories out.

Nothing foofy, just hard work. Thus, the famed old coach’s chant, “no pain, no gain!” But, what if we could make a change to that slogan?

No pain…huge gains.

It seems there may be a giant kink in this system. And, it has to do with the brain’s role in whole process.

Mind Over Muscles

Building muscle, it turns out, is not nearly as mechanical as we thought. And, in fact, a recent study by Erin M. Shackell and Lionel G. Standing at Bishop’s University reveals you may be able to make nearly identical gains in strength and fitness without lifting a finger!

That study measured the strength gains in three different groups of people. The first group did nothing outside their usual routine. The second group was put through two weeks of highly focused strength training for one specific muscle, three times a week. The third group listened to audio CDs that guided them to imagine themselves going through the same workout as the exercising group, three times a week.

And, the results blew everyone away.

The control group, who didn’t do anything, saw no gains in strength. The exercise group, who trained three times a week, saw a 28% gain in strength. No big surprises there. But, the group who did not exercise, but rather thought about exercising experienced nearly the same gains in strength as the exercise group (24%). Yes, you read that right!

The group that visualized exercised got nearly the same benefit, in terms of strength-gains, as the group that actually worked-out.

All of which leaves us with two big questions:

How in the word did this work? And,

Does this mean I can really get totally buff without ever working out?

Question 1 – How can your brain make you buff?

Okay, the answer to the first question—how does this work—is…we don’t really know, with certainty. We do know, however, that muscle conditioning and, in fact, all aspects of fitness and performance, are not nearly as purely mechanical as we once thought.

Your mind plays a massive role in at least two distinct ways

Through it’s connection to the endocrine system (the body’s chemical plant), different thoughts and mental states release hormones that can dramatically accelerate or retard muscle growth. In fact, some people, in search of a way to speed the process, ingest or inject extra amounts of these or similar chemicals. We all know what these are—steroids and their various derivatives. Not the smartest choice.

Other chemicals work on different organs to either fire-up or slow-down your metabolism in the blink of an eye, causing your to either burn a ton of calories lightning-fast or nose-dive into a slow burn.

In fact, a Harvard study reported in February 2007 further bolstered the impact of your thoughts on calories burned.

In that study, the housekeeping staff in a major hotel were told that what they did on a daily basis qualified as the amount of exercise needed to be fit and healthy. They made no changes in behavior, just kept on doing their job. Same as always.

Four weeks later, those housekeepers had lost weight, lowered blood pressure, body-fat percentage, waist-hip ratio and BMI. A similar group of housekeepers who had not been led to believe their job qualified as exercise saw none of these changes.

Simply believing their jobs were exercise caused their bodies to change. Unreal!

But, there’s something beyond the link between thoughts and chemistry, when it comes to the specific quest to gain strength. Chemistry may help accelerate the growth of muscle, but, it turns out…

…strength may not be nearly as much about muscle size or hypertrophy as we thought.

In addition to its chemical system, your body has at least one major electrical system—the nervous system. The signal that makes a muscle contract begins as an electrical impulse in your brain. That impulse is transmitted through your body’s electrical circuitry or nerves to your muscle.

How efficiently that impulse is delivered and how receptive your muscle is to that impulse determines, in large part, how forcefully that muscle can contract. The more fully and the faster it contracts, the stronger we say it is. We call this process neuromuscular facilitation.

Now, here’s the rub. You can turbo-charge your body’s electrical impulse system by repeatedly “visualizing” a muscle contracting, without ever actually contracting it. Based on this knowledge, we’ve known, for years, that visualization is a great way to slow down the loss of strength during recovery from an injury.

But, the big news is that simply visualizing an exercise may provide a nearly equivalent strength-building benefit as actually working-out.

More studies will go along way toward confirming this. And, if it’s for real, wow, can you imagine the opportunities. Now, what about that second question…

Question 2 - Does this mean I really can get totally buff without ever working out?

The short answer is—probably not…yet! Exercise, gains in muscle size and weight loss are all extremely complex processes. There is a ton going on all at once, which is why almost every study done on exercise is causative, not correlative.

It’s much easier to say weight loss and strength gains are “correlated” with exercise, than to say they are “caused” by exercise. Because, it’s nearly impossible to isolate what elements of exercise or “thinking about” exercise are doing what.

So, for now, a really well conceived “visualized” workout may yield similar gains in strength. But, we are not yet able to say it is possible to think your way thin or think your muscles bigger. The key phrase in that sentence, though, was “for now.”

I am incredibly excited about the potential of highly-efficient, virtualized workouts in the near future.

Applications include everything from accelerating rehab to slowing disease-related muscle degeneration, and, yes, even delivering the ultimate, sweat-free, lazy-man/woman’s workout.

A final word of caution, though. Exercise, actual body-moving, sweat-drenching, joint-freeing breath and movement are not only mission-critical to keeping your joints, muscles and connective tissue healthy, but, when chosen with the right criteria, can actually be a source of a lifetime of fun. And…

…if fun and exercise don’t sound like they belong in the same sentence together, hold onto your hat!

This article is just the first in what will soon grow into an ongoing series on creating, choosing and enacting an approach to exercise that is so fun and effective, it’ll have you reworking your calendar to find ways to exercise more.

Your Brain Solves Problems While You Sleep

A growing contingent of researchers believes that our nocturnal musings are subconscious incubators capable of hatching answers to life's enigmas -- a notion sprung from sleep labs where researchers peek inside the brain at rest.

The data is clear: While asleep, the brain is capable of doing things it can't do when it's awake.
Learn New Skills By Osmosis
When Lisa Byerley Gary, 42, and her husband launched a weekly newspaper, she was in charge of layout and had to use an unfamiliar software program. Now a writing instructor at the University of Tennessee, Byerley Gary reflects on those harried weeks and chuckles at how she tossed and turned.
"Night after night, all night long, I would dream about laying out pages on the computer," she says. "I literally went through the steps of placing the text and making it fit." In retrospect, she says, the dreams sped her along the learning curve. "The dreams reassured me that I was working on the problem while I slept," she says. "My mind made use of every moment."
Sleep is the glue that binds new information into the brain. Robert Stickgold, Ph.D., a cognitive neuroscientist at Harvard Medical School and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, looks at the effect of sleep on learning and memory.
In one study, Stickgold and his colleagues taught volunteers how to perform a task. Later, the researchers measured how quickly the subjects completed the task. They found that people tested later the same day didn't improve. But when they were allowed to sleep for at least 6 hours between the training and testing, their scores shot up by 15 percent. What really surprised Stickgold: Participants continued to increase their scores over the next 2 or 3 days without further practice or training.
In another study, Stickgold had volunteers -- including five amnesiacs -- play a video game a couple of hours a day for 3 days. Then he roused them just after they'd fallen asleep to discover what was running through their minds. Sure enough, they were dreaming of the game -- and that was true even for the amnesiacs, who had no memory of having played it.
"It's clear that a night of sleep changes the form of memories so you can perform tasks faster and more accurately," Stickgold says.
Chat With the Night Therapist
Lisa Richmon, a 46-year-old advertising executive in Virginia Beach, Va., had a tumultuous relationship with her mother. Then Richmon's mother died rather suddenly from lung cancer at age 65. She reacted by dismissing memories of their mother-daughter disputes, focusing instead on her mother's best attributes. But she quickly began having recurring dreams in which her mother abandoned or betrayed her. Mornings found her with a heavy heart, like a weight that needed lifting.
"By day, I missed my mother and extolled her virtues whenever possible, but at night, I cast her in my dreams as unloving," Richmon remembers.
The dreams continued for 13 years, until she sought help from a therapist in 2004. In just two sessions, Richmon embraced the truth about her mother -- that she wasn't bad, but she wasn't perfect either -- and the dreams disappeared. The excessive emotions surrounding her mother also faded.
"The experience helped me really look at some painful things that I needed to examine," Richmon says.
At the University of Maryland, Clara Hill, Ph.D., a pioneer in dream interpretation, sees dreams as a key therapeutic tool. In one experiment, she and her colleagues recruited 60 people to take part in three different types of therapy. One group looked at their own dreams, another analyzed a troubling event from their lives, and a control group probed someone else's dream as if it were their own. During five 1-hour therapy sessions, the volunteers dissected the possible meaning of the dream or event and how it might apply to their lives. Afterward, they rated their satisfaction with the therapeutic process.
Hill found that those who examined their lives through the reflection of their own dreams were significantly more satisfied with the outcome than the people who just analyzed the event -- or tried to make sense of others' dreams. Hill believes that the dreams provided the key to fundamental issues that standard therapy couldn't unlock. She isn't surprised by Richmon's revelation.
"People carry dreams around with them for years and years, but it's only once they begin to work on the underlying issue that the dream breaks apart," she says. "The dreams you need to pay attention to are those that haunt you."
For his part, Kuiken, the Canadian researcher, is still spelunking dreams in hopes of understanding more about the dream-lag effect and how the sleeping mind teases apart life's tangles. Dreams help people to navigate through the emotions of life, he says. "When you look at it, emotionally significant events are just another opportunity for learning."
In Boulder, Fryer continues to view her dreams as treasure maps to her unconscious and has been tracking them in a journal for 30 years. She has taught herself how to incubate a problem in her dreams by focusing on it as she drifts to sleep. "Dreaming is such an intuitive thing for me," she says. "If I can just unearth the emotion that's hiding below the surface, I can figure out what to do next."
6 Ways to Mine Your Dreams for Answers
ry hese tips to remember your dreams more vividly and make the most of their problem-solving potential
Start on a weekend: Dreams are best remembered when you wake without an alarm; that way, you'll likely wake from REM sleep, and your dream will be fresh in your mind, says psychologist and dream researcher Rosalind Cartwright, Ph.D., of Rush University Medical Center.
Sharpen your recall: Before you nod off, tell yourself your dreams matter and you want to remember them. Stating your intention is the first step toward enhancing dream recall, says G. William Domhoff, Ph.D., a dream researcher at the University of California, Santa Cruz. "If you think they're unimportant, you'll forget them the instant you wake up."
Sleep on an easy one: Begin with something simple, like how to fit an oversize sofa into your overstuffed living room. Slowly work your way up to more intricate problems, like how to resolve a childhood issue with your sister. When Deirdre Barrett, Ph.D., an assistant professor of psychology at Harvard Medical School, asked college students to solve problems in their sleep, nearly half of the volunteers who chose a moderately easy problem dreamed a solution within a week. But their success rate ebbed as the problems became more complicated.
Stay on track: Make the question the last thing you think about before nodding off.
"As you drift to sleep, you're very suggestible; it's a bit like a hypnotic trance," says Barrett. Use this time to conjure up your problem. Sum it up in one or two short sentences. If possible, put an object representing the quandary on a bedside table. If not, call to mind a clear image of the issue -- just make sure it's the last thing you mull over.
Write it down: Keep a pad of paper and a pen next to your bed. Upon waking, take a moment to lie quietly. Glance around the outskirts of your consciousness to see if a dream is lurking. "If a fragment comes into your head, gently follow it backward," says Domhoff. "We usually remember our dreams in reverse." So, like a loose piece of yarn, a dream may unravel if you tug gently on one end.
Keep still: If you wake up in the middle of a dream, mimic the body in REM sleep by staying still. During REM sleep, muscles are paralyzed, a protective mechanism that keeps you from socking your partner when you reach out to grab a flyaway Frisbee. Use this time to think about the dream and trace its story line. Give the dream a title before you open your eyes, says Cartwright, because when the mind is awake, it's more likely to remember a short catch-phrase than the visual images. Then write down as much as you can remember.
Famous Dreamers
In her book, "The Committee of Sleep," dream researcher Deirdre Barrett, Ph.D., recounts stories of celebrities and historical figures who've successfully mined their dreams for gold.

Billy Joel: The singer/songwriter says he often dreams musical arrangements; he's gone so far as to say, "I know all the music I've composed has come from a dream."

Annamaria Gundlach: This artist found over time that she could design pots by waiting to see the next one in a dream. She observed its shape and size; it would usually be embedded with everyday objects such as nails and fabric, and she would faithfully re-create it. Her major traveling show was called Dreams in Clay.

Paul Horowitz: A real-life version of Jodie Foster's character in the movie "Contact," he's a Harvard physics professor whose passion is designing telescopes to hunt for evidence of extraterrestrials. When he's building a new one and gets stuck on a technical glitch, he'll dream he's looking over the shoulder of a man solving the very problem that has stumped him.

Frederick Banting: This Canadian doctor dreamed a way to isolate insulin and, therefore, make diabetes treatable.

Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley: On a rainy night in 1816, Lord Byron challenged his houseguests to write a horror story. That night, Shelley dreamed the basis for what would become her best-selling novel, "Frankenstein."

Paul McCartney: In 1965, the 22-year-old Beatle dreamed the melody of the song "Yesterday." Upon waking, he immediately sat down and played it on the piano.

Stephen King: The prolific writer of grisly tales admits that he's reaped images from his vivid dreamscapes for his novels and short stories, including Salem's Lot and It.

Why Set Goals?

Recently I haddinner with an old friend who had decided to relocate and get a fresh start in life. He explained he was going through some changes and was at that point in life where he was comfortable but not enthusiastic anymore. As we continued talking I asked him what his next goals were in life?
And what he wanted to do next? "Why, I haven't got any." He said in a dumbfounded way. "I didn't think I needed to set goals. I thought I could just go on like I always have."

My friend's response seems to be typical of a number of people. I say this because I've often heard similar responses in the years that I've been teaching my Creating Power System. Unfortunately, my friend and those like him are missing the point because we really do need to set goals - otherwise we end up getting frustrated or lose all enthusiasm for life. I'll explain shortly.

Going through life without any goals is like getting into a car and driving without any destination in mind. Would you get into your car and just start driving hoping to get somewhere but really not sure where you are going or how you're going to get there? How often have you got into your car and said: "Let's just drive and see where we end up?" Chances are you're like most people - you get into your car when you need to go somewhere. Most often you know exactly where you're going and have a pretty good idea of how you're going to get there. You know how you're going to get there because you may be familiar with the route, or you got directions from someone.

Life in many ways is like driving - you need to have a destination in mind. You can't get somewhere if you don't know where you're going because you'll only end up getting nowhere and then wonder how you got there in the first place. Think about that for a moment. I've seen and spoken to thousands of people who have lived their life without setting any goals only to realize that where they are is not where they want to be and they have no idea how they got there to begin with. The frustration continues because they fail to decide where they want to go next and then never regain the enthusiasm they had for life when they were a child.

Think about it - when you were a kid you wanted to be a pilot, a doctor, a lawyer, a movie star, a rock star, -- you had this childish enthusiasm because you had a goal and you thought anything was possible. Today you may have lost that childish enthusiasm because you no longer think anything is possible. The only reason that happened is because you didn't set goals and achieve them. Maybe you did - and maybe they were too lofty or something stopped you - but as soon as you gave up on them - you lost that enthusiasm. I'm not saying go out and try to be that rock star at 45 - but you can set new goals and this time do what you can to achieve them - because you only get one chance - and this is it.

If you're one of those people who is a little like my friend and you're not that enthusiastic about life - don't feel dismayed - there are a number of things you can do to get going again. First let's talk about setting goals.

Often when I ask people what they're goals are I usually get the following response: "I don't have any goals, I don't know what I want to do." My answer is really simple: "You do know what you want to do - you just haven't thought about it yet." Think about it. How often do you really think about what you want to do or what you want to do next?

So the first step is to start thinking about what you want to do or what you want to do next. Now often the response to that is: "But I don't know what I want to do next." Okay - that's fine. Yes it is fine. If you don't know exactly what you want to do or what you want to do next - then start thinking about the kind of life you want to have. Try to look forward 5 years - where do you see yourself? What's life like for you 5 years from now? What kind of life would you want 5 years from now? Write it down. Next start thinking about what you need to do in order to get to where you want to be in 5 years. You just saw what kind of life you wanted in 5 years - now what can you do to get there? If you're saying: "I don't know what to do to get there." My answer to that is: "You do know how to get there - you just haven't thought of it yet." My point is that once you start thinking about these kinds of things you'll begin to get answers and find solutions. You'll begin to establish a long-term goal - the life you want in 5 years and you'll also set a series of short term goals - the things you need to do to get you there. Once you do that - you then have a destination in mind and an idea of how you're going to get there. The idea is to get your mind working for you rather than against you - something you'll learn to do with the Creating Power System.

The Importance of Setting Goals

The reason it's important to set goals is because without them you feel like you're just spinning your wheels in life. Without goals you no longer feel challenged, you no longer feel like you're striving for something, you no longer feel alive. Without goals life becomes boring and you lose interest - in the end you could end up being bored and depressed. When you have a goal or a series of goals you suddenly feel like you have a sense of purpose - you feel like you're using your full potential and that you're striving for something better.

I'm not saying that everyone has to have lofty goals. All I'm saying is that in order to feel like you're getting the most out of life you need to have some goals and some direction - because without that - life becomes meaningless. With Creating Power you'll begin setting goals and then start taking steps to achieve those goals.

Achieving goals

Now it's also important to achieve your goals. If you constantly fail when trying to achieve your goals you'll lose your self-esteem, confidence and in the end won't be interested in doing much of anything. So the way to achieve goals is to set smaller realistic goals in the beginning. Start with the little things - things you know you can achieve and then start to set the standards a little higher as you go. If you're unemployed and you want to be a millionaire - your first goal should be to start working and saving some money. Then consider your next goal and so on.

The other important factor needed to achieve goals is a belief that you can and will accomplish your goals. This means you have to change your old way of thinking. This is actually crucial to your success - because if you don't believe you can achieve your goals - it doesn't matter how hard you try - you just won't get there. In order to create this new belief that you can and will achieve your goals - you have to train your mind and send new messages to your subconscious mind. This is where Creating Power really helps you. So start by telling yourself that you can achieve your goals, look for ways to achieve your goals and then start taking the steps to achieve your goals. When you hear yourself saying "I can't" or "I don't think I can…" or "I don't know - it all seems so difficult…" stop and put those statements into positive phrases - so that you focus on what you want to achieve. With Creating Power you'll learn how to train your mind so that you create a new belief system and achieve your goals.

Developing Intuition

Ever have that gut feeling about something - but just don't know what that message is or where it's coming from? Well that gut feeling is really your intuition. And just what is intuition? Think of intuition as a partner - someone who only wants to help you and guide you.
The only problem with this partner is that it doesn't speak the same language as you. That is; it doesn't always spell things out for you and give you instructions in terms you'll understand. In order to develop your intuition - you have to first understand it's language - and this is often the tricky part.

How Intuition Works - Understanding it's Language.

Intuition sends us messages in different forms all the time, everyday. Sometimes intuition can be that gut feeling that I just mentioned - when you know something - but just don't have anything to substantiate what you know. For example: last week I was driving on the highway - I had at least another hour to go before I got close to my destination. A limousine went speeding by me - and for a moment I thought about tagging along behind him - but something just didn't sit right. I chose not to speed with him and stayed where I was. About a half-hour later I saw the same limousine pulled over along the side of the road getting a speeding ticket and thought - that could have been me - good thing I stayed where I was. Here's another example; several years ago I was in Seattle - a city I'm somewhat familiar with but not completely knowledgeable of all the streets. I recall driving along near Pike Street Market - trying to figure out how to get back on to highway 5 and head north.

Finally I figured out how to get back on the highway - and decided to speed up a little - but the car in front of me was going rather slow so I thought about passing it - but again something didn't sit right-so I just stayed behind him. A minute later another car zipped past us both - it was not more than 20-feet ahead of us going through a green light when another car smashed into it - the other car was going through a red light. We had to stay and talk to the police - but again my instincts saved me - that could have been me in the accident had I chose to pass the car a minute earlier - but I trusted my gut and stayed put.

I remember when I was in an investigative Reporter in New York and I was interviewing the Chief of Detectives for the New York City Police Department. It was his last day on the job before starting a new life as a public citizen now that he was retiring. He had spent 25 years on the job and let me tell you - he'd seen just about everything. I asked him: "How can an average citizen, walking down Broadway just after sunset, protect himself or herself from a mugger? No everybody carries mace or has self-defense training? What can Miss. Or Mr. Average do to protect themselves?" I'll never forget his response. This elderly man, with his receding gray hair, leaned forward and said: "Karim, at some point, just before something bad is going to happen to you - those little hairs on the back of your neck stand up. They're telling you not to cross the street, not to go further, to stop in your track and turn around - go in a direction where help can be found. If the average person paid attention to that - paid attention to those little hairs standing up on the back of their necks - they'd live a long time." Those little hairs stand up because your intuition is trying to tell you not to do something or warn you of imminent danger so - you then have to take the necessary steps to get out of the situation as quickly as possible. Quite simply - intuition can save your life if you just listen to it.

Fellow readers - I can't tell you how many times my intuition has saved me. There are probably numerous other times that my intuition has saved me and I'm not even aware of those instances. These are situations when I followed my instincts but don't know what the outcome would have been had I not followed them. Sometimes we won't know what would have happened if we didn't follow our instincts.

Intuition comes in many forms - like I said at the beginning - think of intuition as a partner trying to help you and guide you along the way - so that no harm comes to you. Sometimes this partner will speak with a feeling, sometimes it will speak with words through another person, sometimes it will give you signals, sometimes it will simply try to stop you from doing something that isn't good for you. We have to understand how it is speaking to us and when it is speaking to us. Let's go over some of the examples I just mentioned.

I've gone over how intuition speaks with feeling. Sometimes it's a gut feeling - an overwhelming feeling that you should do something, avoid something or follow up on something. Sometimes intuition will speak with words through someone else. For example: you may be thinking about buying a new home but you're not sure what area. The first person you speak to mentions a particular area, the next person you speak to mentions the same area and then a third person mentions the same area - then you're looking in the paper and you see an article praising the area that you're friends were telling you about. In this case your intuition is likely trying to get you to consider that certain area - and perhaps it's time to take a look.

Sometimes intuition will try to give you signals - the article in the newspaper in the above example is a signal. Seeing things that correspond with what you are trying to find an answer to is a signal. Sometimes intuition will try to stop you from taking a certain course of action. You may want to buy a home in a certain area - but everything you find is not up to your standard or way out of your price range. Here you may be getting a signal to look in another area, be patient until you find the right place, or think about other options. You may be trying to get a certain job at a certain place - but there are no openings and nothing is coming up. Intuition may be telling you to look for other options and not pursue the job you are so set on.

In all cases - the message isn't always as clear as we would like it to be. The way intuition speaks to us isn't always easy to understand. But if you keep testing it and keep searching the answer will become clear. The feeling will be overwhelming. The signals will be repeated and clear. The messages from other people will be repeated over and over again. Then the message becomes clear. Sometimes you may not understand the message until years later. But it will all make sense at some point - and that point is when the time is right.

The common element in all of the situations that I just mentions is that in every case there was a question involved. If you want to find an answer to something and you will always get a response. You just have to understand the message. The first time you get the response - you may not understand it and it may not be clear. If you're not sure - don't do anything - wait until you get another message and see if it's along the same lines as the original message. The key is not to be fooled by your mind. Your mind is not your intuition - so don't think that when you ask for something you'll get an immediate answer from your mind - that's not an answer. That's just your mind playing tricks with you.

So how can we get our intuition to help us and how can we better understand the answer?

If you want to get guidance from your intuition first decide what it is you want - then ask for an answer. For example: you want to buy a new home - say I want to buy a new home and I want to know what area I should buy in. What area should I buy my home in? Where should I buy my new home? Keep repeating the question. Then tell yourself that you have the answer - say I know where to buy my new home. Then let go. Don't expect an answer immediately. If you get one in your mind - it's not the answer - it's just your mind and ego playing tricks with you. Let go. Forget about it. The next step is often the most difficult - trust that the answer will come at the right time. as human beings we like to take control of things - we like to know what is going to happen and we want to make things happen. But sometimes you can't - sometimes you just have to be patient and wait for the answer - trusting that it will come at exactly the right time. When it does come - you'll know and you'll follow through. You can do the above exercise for anything you want or for any answer you are seeking. In time you will get the answer - but it will be at the right time - and not on your time.

Another thing that you can do to develop your intuition is to meditate and stay positive. By meditating you calm your mind and by staying positive you become more positive and understand that you will get the answer. The Creating Power System will teach you how to develop your intuition, it will teach you how to better understand the messages your intuition is sending you, Finally - I said that in some cases we don't know the outcome had we not followed our intuition. This is very important because once you learn how to trust your intuition you won't need the reassurance of know what would have happened had you not followed your intuition. We can't always know everything and at some point we have to trust and let go - once you learn to do that everything will flow to you naturally and easily.

When you work with your subconscious Mind Power

When you work with your subconscious Mind Power you learn how to use affirmations, visualization, and the many other techniques that will aid you in harnessing the power of your subconscious mind. In the psychosomatic sense mind power is labeled as ability to have emotions, imagination, memory, and will; and subconscious mind power is labeled as part of the normal individual’s
personality in which mental processes function without consciousness under normal waking conditions.
Contents
1. How Mind Power and Subconscious Mind Power work
