The forecast on Groundhog day was six more weeks of winter. That can be either good or bad news for people. As we head into the coldest month in New York City February. I'm eyeing two sweater options from Bonobos that will keep me warm. Green sweaters are a weakness of mines. The Alpaca Blend Fisherman Crewneck is on sale for $108. It's usually the same story every time either they purchased the items five years ago or it was inherited from someone. All true L.L Bean fans own the same stuff. Another collaboration between Freeman and Crescent Down Works. I will keep it short because in the previous Crescent Down Works posts I have mentioned how awesome is the brand. Crescent Down Works has been in the outerwear industry for over 40 years. This collaboration features the Italian vest. The exterior shell is 60/40 cotton-nylon blend shell, which makes it water resistant and does pretty well against the wind. It's filled with 5.5 oz. of premium 700-fill European goose down that definitely will keep you warm.

Sunday's I'm usually with clients, because it's the most productive day to see apartments. New York City has been having very unpredictable weather. One day its cold and rainy, the next day it's spring. I knew I was going to be out for a while from morning to afternoon. I wore my L.L Bean Norwegian Crew neck sweater which is a classic preppy staple. It's a favorite item among die hard L.L.Bean fans.
The Norwegian sweater is 100% natural repellent wool made in Norway. I tend to wear a lot of colors. I probably wear the least black. FYI I do own the dark navy blue Norwegian sweater. I wore the Deep port/white color way which really feels appropriate since we are in the holiday season. The sweater is available now for $119.00 (usually retails $150.00)

Aside from Burberry I don't put a lot designer brands on the blog but I have a weakness for belts especially leather belts with equestrian hardware. I tend to keep leather belts on rotation and my canvas belts in the recent years have been getting less wear time. This belt is a perfect combination of the uniqueness of the leather equestrian belts that I usually wear with the comfort of a canvas web belt. I own a pair of Blucher mocs and they are very comfortable from the first day you wear them.I do recommend sizing down half a inch. The mocassins feature full grain leather and a molded sole. Looking at an old L.L. Bean Catalog before going to sleep. I came across to what's left of LL Bean 1941 Fall Catalog. The highlight has to be the Hudson's Bay Blankets. The Hudson Bay Point Blanket has been in the L.L. Bean catalog since 1925. This heritage striped wool blanket is practically windproof and water-repellent to keep you warm and dry. It will last a lifetime, according to Leon Leonwood Bean himself, who always kept one on hand (even in his car). Back in 1941 we were in the middle of a war, L.L. Bean was aware of a shortage since the wool came from England. L.L. Bean was carrying large quantities to protect its customers.
The blankets were soo good that the company would send you a sample. You can still get one from the website starting at $399.99. Coming across to the Hudson Bay Point Blankets will make any true L.L Bean enthusiast eyes light up, but the Ladies's Mallard Parka steals the show. This parka needs to return on the signature line which I think will be very popular. If I'm not mistaken I believe a similar outerwear piece came out in 2012 (100 year anniversary) involving a collaboration with Pendleton. I have a weakness for mallard embroidered sweaters and I'm not the only person as I know many people that feel the same. The parka is manufactured from the cozy Pendleton Mallard Blanket. In my favorite season summer the weather in New York City is actually behaving how it's supposed to. That Sunday it was really hot, but I wasn't going to fall into wearing shorts because I had to do some business in the morning. So how do I stay cool? Well, besides wearing the right fabrics. Maybe it's a mental or psychological thing, but I always feel cooler when I wear brighter clothes. Southern Proper Campus Pants in the Hunter green colorway are as of now my favorite solid color pants in my wardrobe. Well priced for only $99.50, they seriously add crispyness to your wardrobe. There's plenty of awesome colors to choose from. I will definitely be buying more. The reason that I like these chinos, so much because they aren't heavy compared to dockers. Made of 100% Peruvian cotton, they feel terrific and look even better. Please check out Southern Proper because they have more awesome colorways as well. I didn't wear a leather equestrian belt because they can be heavy I went to my favorite nautical belt from York River Traders. The Campbell belt from York River Traders really puts the colors of this outfit together in my opinion. The belt is crafted with real climb-spec webbing and complemented by our solid brass compass buckle. It doesn't get more nautical than chilling on the North Brooklyn Waterfront with a belt that has a compass as a buckle. The belt is made in the USA and only runs for $59.00 I kept it simple with a nice small check gingham spread collar shirt from Club Monaco and slim silk squared bottom tie from J Lindeberg. On my head I wore a Southern Proper Madras Frat Cap. Kept the ray out of my eyes with these crispy sunglasses from Penn Avenue Eyewear. I kept the latest issue of The Real Deal and other rent applications in my Copper River BagCo briefcase.The tassel fringe loafers make my outfit complete from Ghbass Weejuns. Southern Proper Anniversary Collection Preview

Southern Proper makes it in my top 5 list of favorite brands. I’m usually wearing something from Southern Proper. I was given the privilege to view the 10 year anniversary collection last month. I can't believe 10 years have already past.Thank you very much by the way I had a fantastic time!!! I can’t mention it enough. From a consumer standpoint Southern Proper has showed immense progression. A brand that began with T-shirts and Bowties is now has a pretty wide range inventory to keep the Proper gentleman and women crispy. Founded on strong southern values style, tradition and authenticity. I see now why I like the brand so much since I believe very strongly in those traits as well.

Another accessory Southern Proper is very popular with are the caps. Throughout the years they released a great looking caps like the Blackwatch cap which I love. I love so much I wear it in winter. I know my ears are going to be cold, but I'm ok with that cause I'm wearing an awesome cap in my favorite plaid colorway. The frat cap is now available in houndstooth perfect for fall. Ever year, Southern Proper hits a homerun with the bases loaded with their choice of print for their caps. This will be a hot buy my eye is open to buy one before it sells out.When the temperature drops the SoPro Knit hat is the answer!

The outerwear department looked pretty strong this year with various fleeces and vests to keep you warm, whether you're studying on campus very late or tailgating. A lot of the long sleeve fleece is of a heavy/thicker fleece for warmth. The All Prep Pullover and The Old Glory are my favorites. The Old Glory Pullover is a solid fleece, with nylon stripe accents on placket and collar. Nylon stars on pocket flap and tonal snaps. A very American outerwear piece that you can wear any time not only for patriotic holidays. The Polar Pullover is a great layering piece for the colder weather due to its thickness. Plus the fleece puts you in the best holiday spirit! The Quilted Full Zip is an ideal fall weather outerwear piece. The fleeces are available in a multitude of colorways and prints. The small details like Plaid collar lining and tartan chest pockets is making you feel unique. You may see another brand with a similar colorway for the fleeces however, it will definitely lack the detailing.

Southern Proper will be expanding to women. Throughout the years the brand has been very popular with females. The females wear the guy fleeces, caps and t-shirts. They wear anything they can get their hands on. Well guys no need of hiding your awesome Southern Proper clothes from the your girlfriend since most of the popular pieces will be offered in smaller sizes for females. The very popular Labrador pullover will be available in more colorways. The Henderson and Brooks dress were my favorite womenswear piece. It really captures the classic Southern women style!

No more borrowing from guys

Southern Proper has matured a lot, it's not the bow tie and T-shirt brand with little to offer like other brands in the prep niche. Southern Proper is very popular with younger demographics high school and early year of college. Me being a big fan of preppy fashion history, Southern Proper is on the same path as Brooks Brothers. Brooks Brothers was that brand you wear when you enter the Ivy League schools. Brooks Brothers wanted to be the same brand for the college Ivy Leaguer about to start his career after graduation. Southern Proper wants to be the brand you continue wearing after your mid-20s, 30s and 40s. Good choice and good path for longevity! Once again thank you for everything! It's the originator publication for the luxury lifestyle! What an awesome preview featuring some of my favorite designers like Ralph Lauren, Oscar De La Renta, Calvin Klein, and Saint Laurent.

L.L Bean Jackman Blucher Moccasin Tan Colorway on Sale

One of my favorite shoes is Blucher Mocs. Blucher moccasins are a great shoe to have in your wardrobe because it's a more grown up version of the boat shoe. It has pretty the same versatility as boat shoes. I have a pair of two pairs of Blucher moccasins in my wardrobe (one being L. L. Bean of course!) Checking out the L.L. Bean website last night I came across to these wonderful tan Blucher moccasins on sale to bad my size isn't available. Hand sewn from domestically tanned smooth leather and it has premium rawhide laces from the legendary Auburn Leather Company in Kentucky. Since the moccasin has a smooth leather lining it feels comfortable with or without socks. The tan colorway is on sale for $79.99 which is great for a preppy staple that you will have in rotation year around!
