25th Anniversary Party Coming up

Getting ready for our 25th Anniversary Party. I am using my original colors of the wedding, including my original flower caketop. My flower girl was Monica and her parents will be coming. It is fun to remember my Dad too. We should have danced more. In fact, I think one regret I have is not dancing more in general.

My amaryllis is blooming...both of them. This is their second year. It is a proud moment to make them bloom again.

Made Banners with Pixels2pages...valentines, birthday, shower

Love making banners now, just designed them in StoryBook in a 4 x 6" format and printed them on my own computer, (or I can send them in to be printed.) I like to put backing paper behind it to make it hang flatter.

Those pixies are so clever. Now I make these often in lieu of a birthday card, or graduation etc. This banner will be for Valentines Day.

Working on a page for my Aunt Helen. I had a whole weekend at Embassy Suites with 110 women on laptops making pages and getting training. Jan McCallum came to be with us for the weekend. She is the Mothership from Pixels2pages.com. What fun! She even made an exclusive design for our event.

Life is Good, My new favorite thing

I just read about the business model for LIFE IS GOOD. What a great story! Two brothers spend years selling t-shirts (I guess they had a calling!) They came up with this idea of Life is Good because they had such a good attitude about life. They certainly live the good life as they help others as well. I would love to have a brand like that. I am going to spend the next few weeks trying to think of something for my business. I have always wanted to be a successful entrepreneur and a philanthropist! Looking for the perfect catchy saying.

This is Aunt Helen over the years, she is almost 90. She has not had the easiest life but has one of the twinkliest smiles I have ever seen. I like to try to capture a life on one 12" page. I am happy with this. I use the cutting tool in StoryBook.

Here I made strips of paper and swirled them. Then I copied them 16 times and swirled again. I love monochromatic, it is so peaceful.

Some of my new favorite things! I have them all in stock.

Merry Christmas to all of my friends and family. Here are a few of my favorite memories. My mother worked at Western Union all of my life. She would bring me paper home with various Santa-gram designs on them. She knew I could not get enough paper to draw on. This one is a telegram to Dan from Santa when he lived in Illinois. I was so excited to see it 30 years later~ Below is Dan on Santa's lap in Illinois..........

Way above, my Dad bought my Mom a big box of candy. Can you tell HE really liked candy? She did not like it that much!
Trees were great in the 60's.....lots of tinsel. Below are some of my Janowski cousins.
My mother really liked to have an amaryllis each year. Now I do the same. I have 4 going right now. Some made babies.

I have been having fun designing wine tags for the holidays. I use the tag punch from Creative Memories, scraps of paper punched with a CM circle punch, and finally I add brads from Memory Works. Love the brads! The word and letter stickers are from Memory Works. I like them because they are small, heavy duty and become like poetry on the tag. Merry Christmas to all. Happy Scrappin'.
Note: punch the paper first with the tag punch, then line up the circle punch using the lines on the top of the punch to center the second largest hole.

Making Garlic Salt for Christmas Gifts

Garlic salt is easy to make....just one cup of kosher or sea salt and 6 cloves of garlic in a food processor. Grind it until garlic is broken down. Place on a cookie sheet and bake at 200 degrees for 2 hours. Put the chunks back into the food processor and break it up into desired size of grains. This keeps for very long time.

Good Food for the Holidays...Kale, Pumpkin and Phyllo

Love the kale chips, 325 degrees after tossing in a tablespoon of oil and a couple of dashes with salt. Then I made phyllo dough and fruit....love them!

The Pumpkin pie with ginger snap crust was a big hit. Bonus: got pumpkin seeds too.

Made these little placecards 12 years ago.....Linda still uses them.
