DC Universe Online

2011-01-15T06:08:00.000-08:00

I got a buddy code from a coworker and finally started trying this game tonight! (Just what I need, another MMO to play!)

So far, I'm loving my character. I chose Batman as my mentor, Acrobatics for my movement type, and Staff specialization. The combat animations are beautiful, the starting mission is easy and informative without being annoying and forcing 'press W to move forward' down your throat. You can choose to play with a controller if you so wish- which is a nice bonus if you want to kick back in your chair and play an MMO with friends. If you're a DC fan, this game is probably worth at least a look! You get to interact with tons of your favorite DC characters, and the character customization is pretty extensive.

Some downsides.... it seems there are balance issues between Heroes and Villains on most of the realms, favoring Villains. The voice acting and narration are sub-par at best and you only have 6 power slots in your regular UI. Also, if you decide to play with friends, be aware that choosing different mentors will largely limit the amount of missions/quests you both can do together.

Currently, it's a pay to play game for 15 dollars a month, or you can buy time in larger increments for a slight discount. I'm not sure if I'll continue playing, as I'm still very much into WoW- but I'll keep you guys posted if this game is worth the time and money!

Movin' on Up

2011-01-13T04:49:00.000-08:00

Fuck yeah. Who's got two thumbs and finally got a promotion at work?

d(^_^)b This bitch.

It's been a long two years, but I'm glad I'm starting to move up the ranks. With that, I got more overtime to work in the morning... there really isn't enough time in the day! ;_;

Weekend = More work

2011-01-10T05:58:00.000-08:00

Yay! Monday marks the beginning of my weekend and I'm hoping I can get some shit done this time... Like usual, my apartment is a mess and there's little to no food in the fridge (no food due to being lazy rather than lack of funds). Also, I took on the task of making a few drawings for some friends... which has been coming along slowly. I'll be sure to post pictures once I have something worth posting. Heh.

For now... more comics.

Title says it all. :)

Keeping busy as ever...

2011-01-07T04:29:00.000-08:00

So I completed the commission for my friend- she and her fiancee wanted a 'chibi, silly, beach wedding invitation'.

Here's what I finally ended up with:

They both loved it- so I feel like it's a success, haha.

Going along with the chibi theme, I drew this out of boredom while waiting for my instance queue to pop. (Sometimes I hate being DPS....)

Also, I finally got my order in! I ordered Batman Year One and the Dark Knight Returns. <3 I still haven't read them- but I plan to start that tonight before I sleep.

Dat superman face....

New obsession...

2010-12-30T03:27:00.000-08:00

So, it all started with my coworker lending me The Long Halloween. Since then, which was 2 weeks ago, I've been obsessed with Batman everything. Currently, I'm working on some horrible fanart and have ordered Year One and The Dark Knight Returns.

/f*cking excited

I found this... which I think is adorable. :3

TRON!

2010-12-28T21:02:00.000-08:00

So... I have yet to go see the new Tron movie, but I'm having a very Tron Christmas! Every year at work we do a decoration contest... and it's usually geek-themed. Our group is doing Tron and our arch-nemesis group is doing Batman.

Today I made some NutCrackers!

They're still drying... Right now I'm going to go paint some Lightcycles!

Merry Christmas!

2010-12-26T03:27:00.000-08:00

I'm sure everyone's been busy with the Holidays! Currently, I'm working on a commission for a friend's wedding invitation- if she gives me permission, I'll post the final outcome soon!

On a slightly related note...

Full time job w/ OverTime + working on 2 commissions + holiday stress/meeting families =

x_x I can't wait until I can start posting regularly again. My hunter is still stuck at level 65!!!!

It's a piece of cake...!

2010-12-22T03:37:00.001-08:00

Lazy Town meets Lil John. Enjoy.

Srsly..... srsly.

2010-12-17T11:47:00.000-08:00

Sorry guys, I haven't been keeping up with posting as I hoped I would! Overtime at work has been killing me, and all (little) free time has gone to working on commissions for friends and Cataclysm! (I'm up to level 64.. )

For now, I got to go back to work in 15 minutes! Here's the Nico Nico Douga medley for anyone that hasn't had the pleasure of viewing it before!

Cheers!

MAMESHIBAAA~!

2010-12-09T04:36:00.000-08:00

I apologize for the lack of posting! The holidays are here, overtime has become mandatory at work, and Cataclysm just launched. So... I've been busy preparing for Christmas, working, and leveling- it's all quite stressful really. At any rate, I'm going to post some Mameshiba- please enjoy!

White Elephant Gift Exchange

2010-12-02T02:44:00.000-08:00

Seems my coworkers want to do a White Elephant Gift Exchange this year! I've never participated in one before, and I'm a bit stumped on what I should get as my gift!

For those of you that don't know, I pulled up an explaination, courtesy of Wikipedia.

"A white elephant gift exchange is a popular holiday party game primarily in North America, with many variations in name and game play. Generally, white elephant parties need a minimum of six participants, although the larger the group, the more entertaining and protracted game play will be. White elephant parties can result in vicious rivalries between players trying to get sought after gifts. The goal of a white elephant party is usually entertainment rather than gain. In the southeastern United States, this game is sometimes called a Yankee Swap.

Gifts are typically inexpensive, humorous items, or used items from home; the term white elephant refers to a gift whose maintenance cost exceeds its usefulness. The most popular version of the White Elephant or Yankee Swap Rules allows any number of people to participate. However, the number of participants should be at least four for the game to be fun. Each participant is asked to bring a gift worth no more than a pre-agreed upon amount.

Participants draw numbers from a hat to determine their gift choice order, starting with one, up to the total number of participants. Each person takes a turn choosing a gift. The first person picks a gift, opens it and shows it to the rest of the company. Then the number two participant picks a gift and chooses to either unwrap it or to exchange it for the previously unwrapped gift. If the gift is exchanged, the person who had their gift taken from them gets to unwrap the chosen gift and then the turn passes. When all the gifts have been opened, the game is over."

For our White Elephant, the gift max amount is 20 bucks. I need to keep it cheap, but I'd love to hear you guys' ideas. =) (The funnier the better)

Kuragehime and McDonalds

2010-11-30T19:50:00.000-08:00

So yesterday I heard from a friend that Mc Donalds has Hello Kitty toys. I went to pick up a happy meal, since I'm an avid Hello Kitty fan. I specifically order a 'girls' chicken nuggets kids meal, but it seems that the cashier didn't quit understand and when I got to open my meal- I had received a boys! =( I was only upset for a moment, when I realized the current boys toys are Transformers, fuck yeah.

I got Bumblebee. :3 Everything went better than expected!

I've been having a hell of a time drawing with my tablet. I'm considering picking up a scanner and simply starting to make water colors again, which is more of my forte.... Anyway, I doodled this- it's some Kuragehime (Princess Jellyfish) fanart. =)

Life Chart

2010-11-30T04:33:00.000-08:00

Being new to the blogging scene, I've decided to share a bit about myself! However, I feel that reading is time consuming and tedious. Instead, I've prepared a visual depiction of my life via cartoon drawings and a handy-dandy chart. =) Enjoy!

I saved you SO much reading.... that you probably wouldn't sit through anyway. At any rate, some actual art might be posted tomorrow- I've been really busy lately. :<

2011 Winter Anime Season - Hourou Musuko

2010-11-28T02:32:00.000-08:00

Hey all!
I'm not sure how many of my readers like anime or keep up with anime, but I'm so STOKED for Hourou Musuko to come out in January. We've got two unsubbed teasers out, and the art alone is superb. I'm so happy they kept the watercolor just like the original manga. <3

To sum up the story in a few short words, it's centered around two elementary school children. One is a boy, Shūichi Nitori, who wishes to be a girl and a girl, Yoshino Takatsuki who wants to be a boy. The story is fantastic, and the characters are a nice mix of likable and realistic.

Here's the long teaser that was just recently released

The main website for the show is here: http://www.houroumusuko.jp/ Just be aware it's all in Japanese. =)

The anime, produced by AIC Classic and Aniplex, will begin airing in Japan on January 14, 2011 on Fuji TV's Noitamina programming block. The director will be Ei Aoki and the screenplay was written by Mari Okada. Chief animator Ryūichi Makino based the character design used in the anime on Takako Shimura's original concept and the main animator is Michio Satō. The music was produced by Satoru Kosaki and Keiichi Okabe, both from Monaca, and the sound director is Jin Aketagawa.

The Good and the Bad

2010-11-27T00:26:00.000-08:00

Hey guys,

I wanted to share with you a music video of my friend's band. She recently left to pursue her music career, and I have a feeling she'll do just fine. =) Please give it a listen!

The band is Porcelain Smile, and the song is Broken Record.

I know my posts have been kind of short... to make up for it, I found this little gem on Youtube.

It made me feel.... bad inside. ;_;

Happy Thanksgiving/Black Friday

2010-11-26T03:07:00.000-08:00

Hey guys,

So today has been a pretty good day for me. I did have to work Thanksgiving- but I got fed like a Queen and I enjoy my coworker's company- so it was all good. At work today, we were trying to come up with some funny GNOME ONLY guild names.... Here's a picture of what we came up with....

Simple, sweet, and conveys pain and loneliness it feels to be a gnome.

In other news! I just made my first (and most likely last) Black Friday purchase! I just spent ~650 dollars on a new computer! My boyfriend will be building it for me when the parts arrive, and I'm excited to see the difference... I've had my current computer for about 4 years now. Yeah... it's an old piece of junk. -_-

That's all for now, I'm going to go watch some anime- happy hunting!

Worms Reloaded

2010-11-24T03:52:00.000-08:00

I've been playing Worms Reloaded a bit, I thought I'd post about it for people that weren't familiar with the game. =)

It's currently available on steam, and I highly recommend trying it out if it have a lot of friends or enjoy mindless explosions created in a variety of different ways!

Overview: Worms: Reloaded is an artillery game/turn based strategy game developed by Team17 and is part of the Worms series. Gameplay is turn-based and returns to its original 2D aspect for the first time on PC since Worms World Party in 2001. There are both Single player and Multiplayer modes available with up to four players online. Players take turns controlling their team of worms with the ultimate goal of taking out the opposing team(s). The player must act within a time limit before the turn ends.

The physics in this game are hilarious, and it's a game you can play without getting super serious about it. =)

Anyway, no new drawings yet- I'm watching too much anime and playing too many games.

Lucky Star Wallpaper Dump

2010-11-23T03:43:00.000-08:00

Here's some Lucky Star wallpapers for tonight. I spent the entire day out with my boyfriend and haven't had any time to work on drawing. Tomorrow I'll have some free time to try out Ada's suggestion. =)

My Head is THROBBING! (Insert sexual innuendo here)

2010-11-22T01:57:00.000-08:00

This week at work has been a difficult one- I'm so glad it's my weekend. I've been getting headaches more often, and it's becoming very hard to stay friendly when your head is throbbing. :< I'm looking forward to work though, I'm making progress in my department and I feel like things are going in the right direction finally.

Plans for my weekend:
Visit boyfriend
Get World of Warcraft to install
Draw more and hopefully better...
Level up my Hunter
Purchase a new computer and scanner
Sleep :3

I've been doodling in Photoshop... here's what I came up with in an hour. x_x It isn't anything to write home about, but I thought I'd share.

I'm really hoping to improve using the tool. I feel confident in my hand to paper art- but it just doesn't translate the way I want via tablet.

If anyone has any tips with working in PS, please feel free to share in the comments! I'm open for suggestions.

Shocking....

2010-11-21T01:36:00.000-08:00

Seriously.... I've been having issues with metal objects shocking me for weeks now. :< I decided to express my frustration via comic.
