The exciting casting marks Tyla’s first venture into animated film and comes on the heels of her gearing up to release her sophomore album ‘A*Pop’ in July.

News of the role has sent fans into a frenzy, with many celebrating the singer’s latest achievement and the increased representation of African talent within one of Disney’s most beloved franchises.

With new music and now a Disney credit under her belt, Tyla’s star power shows no signs of slowing down.

‘Toy Story 5’ is scheduled to arrive in theatres June 19.

Chris Brown has reached a settlement, resolving a lawsuit that accused him of withholding royalties from a co-writer on two tracks.

According to Billboard, a court notice filed on Monday, June 8, states that Brown and his publisher Universal Music Publishing Group have “reached a settlement in principle” with songwriter Steve Chokpelle. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Chokpelle sued Brown and UMPG in February. He alleged he had been paid “no revenues whatsoever” for helping craft ‘Monalisa‘ and ‘Sensational.’

The lawsuit read:

“Defendants sustained a tremendous benefit, and shall continue to receive tremendous benefit, by [earning] millions in revenues, acclaim, accolades and goodwill from the commercial exploitation of ‘Monalisa’ and ‘Sensational.’ As a result of defendants’ failure to acknowledge plaintiff’s authorship and copyright ownership interests, and by their failure to compensate plaintiff, defendants have been unjustly enriched.”

Chokpelle claimed he wrote the ‘Monalisa’ lyrics during a 2020 session with Brown and Sean Kingston. He also alleged he penned the lyrics for ‘Sensational’ in 2023 alongside producer Onyekachi Emenalo (known as Krazytunez).

Brown’s attorneys had argued that the claims should be dismissed due to the statute of limitations. That motion was pending when the settlement was reached.

Chokpelle also sued Kingston, who is currently serving a federal prison sentence. The settlement with Brown has not resolved those claims.

Joe finally stepped behind the Tiny Desk. Specifically, the R&B veteran blazed through his catalogue of ’90s and early 2000s hits for NPR’s Black Music Month celebration.

Before the music started, Joe explained his absence from the spotlight.

“Where have I been for the past few years? Well, I’ve been on the road touring. I’m here with you all today, and I wanna do a few songs throughout the catalogue.”

He then delivered a setlist packed with gold and platinum-selling smashes:

Fans had long petitioned for Joe to appear at the Tiny Desk. Consequently, his performance proved the wait was worthwhile. He gathered the entire audience in one hand, blazing through each track with the same vocal power that made him a staple of R&B radio.

The Tiny Desk concert is part of NPR’s celebration of BET’s legacy during Black Music Month.

Perrie Edwards is opening up about her fractured friendship with former bandmate Jesy Nelson. Specifically, the Little Mix star says she has “no capacity” for Nelson in her life anymore.

Speaking on the Great Company with Jamie Laing podcast, Edwards revealed that the end of their friendship felt devastating.

Perrie explained:

“It is just as hard as a breakup. Especially when you don’t get closure. When that’s it, it’s done, and you’ve got no say in it anymore. I can’t move on without closure.”

She continued:

“Part of me wanted to… until her documentary. Then part of me thought: I’m not a horrible person, I haven’t got a malicious bone in my body, but I can cut you off. If you upset me and hurt me in a way where there’s not really any going back, I can forgive, but I don’t want you in my space.”

When asked if she thinks she’ll ever rekindle her friendship with Jesy, Perrie says she’ll “always love her” but no longer wants to reconcile after feeling hurt by her documentary:

She then explained that therapy taught her the difference between capability and capacity. Perrie added:

Despite the rift, Edwards said she reached out after Nelson’s twins were diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA).

The 32-year-old shared:

“Seeing Jesy go through that… it broke me. As much as we’ve got our issues, I don’t want to see her hurting.”

Perrie is asked about reaching out to Jesy Nelson following her twins’ SMA diagnosis:

The legendary filmmaker returns to the world of extraterrestrial intrigue with a fresh take on the alien phenomenon, anchored by a star-studded cast that includes Colman Domingo, Emily Blunt, and Josh O’Connor.

That Grape Juice caught up with Spielberg, Domingo, screenwriter David Koepp, Henry Lloyd-Hughes, and Wyatt Russell at the movie’s London premiere, where they opened up about the film’s deeper themes.

For Spielberg, the spectacle is secondary to the human story at the center of the movie.

“It is really first and foremost a movie about these people and what this experience does to them, how it changes them, and as it’s changing them how I hope it will change us, the audience.”

Charli xcx is hitting the road. Specifically, the pop star announced a 12-date North American arena tour to promote her upcoming album, ‘Music, Fashion, Film’.

The tour kicks off on September 11 in Philadelphia. Furthermore, it includes two nights at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center and two nights at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum. Electronic artist Underscores will open for all dates.

The album drops on July 24. It features the already-released tracks ‘Rock Music‘ and ‘SS26.’ Charli is pivoting to a more guitar-based sound, consequently moving away from the electro-dance beats of ‘Brat.’

For the first time this tour, Charli is introducing ‘Angel Tickets.’ Specifically, a limited number of $20 tickets will become available in August. Seats will be revealed on the day of the show at the venue box office pickup. Tickets must be purchased in pairs.

A limited number of charity tickets will also be available in the first five rows of each arena. Furthermore, 50 percent of net proceeds will go to the Transgender Law Centre.

The artist presale begins on June 12 at 9 a.m. local time. The general on-sale starts on June 12 at 1 p.m. local time.

Charli is also hitting the festival circuit over the summer. She will play Lollapalooza in Chicago, Outside Lands in San Francisco, and Reading & Leeds in the U.K.

Directed by EMMY-winning director Paul Dugdale, the documentary – titled ‘The Lifetimes Tour: Live from Paris’ – gives viewers a front-row seat to Katy’s electrifying tour stop in “City of Lights.”

“The Lifetimes Tour: Live from Paris explodes onto the screen in a blaze of color, sound, and pure spectacle, capturing Katy Perry in an immersive and interactive show, bringing viewers along for an over-the-top night of music and fun. Released May 29, ‘Mama’ is home to singles ‘Somebody‘ and ‘GOMF‘ and boasts a who’s who of features including 21 Savage, GloRilla, Doja Cat, Sexyy Red, Wizkid, Teyana Taylor, and more.

Despite a soft promotional rollout, the project still managed a handsome top 20 opening and comes as her third consecutive placement in the chart region following the #15 bows of her ‘Sugar’ and ‘777‘ albums respectively.
