15-Aug-2012

2012-08-19T13:06:00.000-07:00

I normally don't have blogposts with DATES as titles, but the Date being so important, their's no better title i could really come up with! there were titles like "Karnala Again", "Trek", "LOST IN THE WOODS", etc that came to my head but then I realized i'd be Kidding myself to put something like that up there!

Anyhoo, it was Me, Prateek (a Guy i've referred to on my blog earlier as well), Rasika, Keshav, Pooja and Aditya who went there... not to forget, we also had Oliwia from Poland and Evian and Rose from China who went along with us... :D

After bucket loads of planning, replanning, destination changing etc, that involved calls as late as 1am, we decided to Go to Karnala, A bird sanctuary around a fort, though we were more interested in the Latter cuz all we wanted to do was trek....

The Day started off like any other day that has something planned for the rest of it, WITH PEOPLE GETTING UP LATE! Something else really lame happened too, the phone i click with, lost it's ability to be used as a Phone at 6am in the morning, which made me realize that NO ONE gives you their cellphone at 6 in the morning to make an emergency call... and also that there are NO PAYPHONES in urban India Anymore!

enough of my story, let's start with the pictures now???

Getting There - I

Yes i Like clicking inverted pictures..

Getting There - II

First Picture after Reaching the base ...

so after we got there, we had thought of keeping a low profile initially, but that plan was murdered in Cold blood by this guy who happened to be some official of the Sanctuary.. he actually made us pose for a photo! -_-

"NEW.PHONE.MUST.SHOW.OFF"

Yes they were posing!

After that Debacle, we set off again with the destination in Clear sight! a Fort that is 1440ft above the sea Level!

Though it's not visible at all, I was actually tryin 2 click the fort with loads of framing..
#didntwork

Yes we had a MAP! :P

and we're OFF... !!

I ask them to Pose and this is what they Do! -_-

we really didn't know we were gonna be LOST sooonn :D

yes Rasika has the same pose again... i wonder why!

my phone randomly clicks super detailed photos at times
this one for eg. is 1.2mb in size
the avg is around half of the same number
the end result looks neat though

Walkin into the woods :p

fallen trees make good subjects too!!

Trail Blazing?? - I

Trail Blazing?? - II

Trail Blazing?? - III

Twisted! :D

MADE IT!!

Clicking a Clicker!!

yes this is an EDIT, but i clicked this right there at the top.. !! Pretty Pic??? Hell YEAH!

Oh Yes that's ME

blades of Grass

"time to rest my feet"

Last PIc from the top!

Yes you'll notice that there aren't too many pics of us getting up there or even of getting down ... it's just that it was either raining then or we had better things to do... LIKE GETTING THE HELL OUT OF THERE ... :D

Hope you enjoyed this one like you've enjoyed the previous ones!!

Cheers and luck!!

ASP: Creepy???

2012-08-12T11:08:00.000-07:00

This pic is nothing short of creepy, clicking something like this is not really possible with a D-SLR, zero edits except auto correct to brighten it up!

yes that's 2 of my fingers!

ASP: Just a Table??

2012-07-11T08:43:00.000-07:00

A totally random shot of a bamboo table... Somethings look better than what they actually are if Clicked well ;)

ASP: Inverted Skies

2012-07-10T02:19:00.000-07:00

ASP stands for "A Single Picture" and refers to those posts which contain just ONE PICTURE. The reason why such posts/pictures exist is the fact that some of the pictures that i click don't fall under any theme whatsoever, but somehow they're good enough to be posted here.. !!

I call this one INVERTED SKIES because that's what this pic is...

The Overall Effect of the picture Turned out better than what it actually is! Hope y'all like it!!!

The Beach!....

2012-07-04T03:33:00.004-07:00

DISCLAIMER: this post has a couple of 14 mp exceptions to my 3mp rule! the only reason for this is that I love my phone too much to risk getting in close to water bodies :p

also, there are a few pics of me that've been taken by someone else.

Booyeah, here we go..

For the sake of simplicity, the pics using my phone have been uploaded first,

An OverCast Day

2012-06-11T10:31:00.000-07:00

A random Overcast Day gave me the opportunity to Click (oh hell who am I kidding, i'd have clicked like a B*tch even if it weren't an overcast day). Anyways, the subjects came out pretty well cuz the lighting was naturally perfect. Basically, here I showcase the awesomeness of natural lighting, specially that on an overcast day..

Down To Earth

2012-05-28T09:46:00.000-07:00

Hello World.. I address you(oohkay this is getting crappy already).. so I came up with this nice-ish way of clicking pictures with your phone.. works well if your phone has it's camera placed like in the Nokia X3, Specifically the Nokia X3 cuz the camera is right on the top.. So all I did was invert my phone and place in on the ground and *CLICK* ( a few exceptional pics have been mentioned )..

So here it is, Down To Earth(mentioned hereafter as DTE):

The Living Room Floor.. If only this phone had AutoFocus... !!

slightly off the ground with a skewed orientation... and oh yeah my CAT!! There'll be a post
dedicated to his pics as well.. Wait up!

Again I felt that AutoFocus would've made my life awesome-er with the X3, I have
it on the TYTN II i am using now, if only the focus were on
the stone.. a good-ish pic all in all!

My CAT is the whitest cutest thing on planet EARTH! Peace!

Don't ask what I was doing on the middle of the Pune-Mumbai Expressway
The things I have to Do for this blog!!
Below, a cropped version of just the man running towards the Camera!

Walking on thin air?

A few Minutes later......

Neatly Rolled up Clothes take up lesser space While Packing up
Tip to Remember!! oh yes, they'd have looked neater if I were a li'l less hasty!

YUNO focus on the Flower Mr. Camera?? :\

the colors and the white lines...

Clicking this one led to trouble.. A HELL LOT OF TROUBLE!!!

finally a good focus achieved..

Streets of Viman Nagar! the flatness of the road at the far end of this pic is cute!

I Fell IN LOVE WHEN I SAW WHAT I'D clicked.. the raindrop as it fell on the far left of the pic
left a near perfect splash which was Luckily captured!!

I Sit for a group Photograph with Students from my class,
and end up clicking a DTE picture of them instead!

DTE works at Night too!! Kinda fuzzily though!

This pic makes absolutely no sense whatsoever! :p

Oh yes that's me.. Self Timer Self Portrait. Fit's the DTE Concept loosely

Aaaand we come to a close... signing off with a wish/hope that I inspired a few people to take similar pics... Peace!

Skies, Clouds and Rain

2012-05-17T04:10:00.000-07:00

another one of my Huge posts.. Too many pics, too less words/time/everything else!!

30+ pics in all.. just take some time out and scroll down and sneak a peek at all of them!!

if you like the pics and the blog, make sure you "Like" it on facebook!!

https://www.facebook.com/Threemps

and yeah don't forget to press the FOLLOW button! :)

Clicked at Khadakwasla in 2009. My Dad used the phone back then
but I still was the freaky clicker. We'd left the cam in the car I guess

Same place almost three years later.. not much difference except the edit and the orientation

Random Bushes look GREAT!

Two birds hiiiiggghhh up on a cable

Just the weirdly colored skies... .

The NEXT SECTION consists of pictures that'll make you want to throw away your CAMERAS.. so make sure you've securely placed them far away from your reach. Clicked using a phone...

RAINDROPS!

I Guess god wanted to see what's going on down here..

Silhouettes make me go CRAZY!! :D

Perfect??

i just Hope you read this line...!!

A Day With The Kids....

2012-04-14T11:46:00.003-07:00

Don't think I can say much when it comes to these pictures, I and a bunch of people from AIESEC Navi Mumbai had gone to the Chembur Children's Home, where we'd spent the day with some 70 odd kids. The day was fun and these pics don't actually include pics of the whole time we were there..

I clicked these on the sly when the 4 chaps of my group were busy working on a poster-like advertisement(yes i helped... YES WE WON, came in 2nd outta like 10+ groups)

Okay, so the first set of pics has random shots of what they made

the next set of pics are shots of the kids of my group.. an energetic and creative lot!!

The LAAAAST pic is of half the group that we had....am i gonna miss this day!!!

The Single Candle

2012-03-28T05:10:00.000-07:00

Hey Everyone, in Germany, Russia, America and India(My top four Countries in terms of Audience) if you'd actually READ the #28buckday post, you might've noticed my "promise" about this next post called "The Single Candle"

Well Starting off, THIS was the pic that was posted in the last post:

YES it's Disgusting, and there are Millions of errors, The rest have a few errors
but still they are respectably awesome for a
cellphone :)

So here they ARE!!

The best comes first for me..

A tad bit out of focus, but then again nice enough i guess..

Focus on the flame..

A gust of wind ....

Messy Candlestick anyone??

and here are pics that are NOT threemps... taken using a Galaxy SII:

Not exactly the High Res version, but yeah it's cool

and this one was taken with a Sony W-360:

I specifically liked the drop of wax to the right of the candle.. seems Touchable!!!

The best thing about the 2nd, last and 2nd last pic is that the BLACK in the pics is totally BLACK!

I hope this makes sense to you all!!!

and if anyone's been counting or keeping track, this was post number 30.

plenty more in the docks!!

#28BuckDay

2012-03-22T14:31:00.000-07:00

Before people ask,

NO I did NOT starve myself today, NO I did NOT do this in PROTEST of anything, NO I did NOT do this because someone challenged me to.. I did this Just cuz I'm CRAZY in general, and wanted to check whether it's possible or not..

Okay... so "the Day" started off yesterday midnight at 12, my action plan was simple.. spend as less as possible, cut down on all luxuries and MAKE certain exceptions to the 28 Rupee Rule for eg. I didn't account for the house rent, I didn't account for the water, I didn't account for the fact that I couldn't afford a single day's college tuition, and also I didn't account for the clothes I wore(I TRIED to wear my Cheapest ones) and related stuff.

Firstly, THIS is what 28 bucks looks like..

This was THE limit. THE only amount of money that I was carrying on me all day. It made me do really a stupid thing I'm NOT proud of and something I don't actually Promote/Support..

Finally starting off with the Compromises.. NO ELECTRICITY.

This was the only light source I had last night.. Sleeping
with sweat on your face IS a tough time. Yes I
wanted it to look pretty as well

Waking up to virtually NO breakfast came next, and I say so cuz i'm a Protein Junkie who gorges on 5 egg whites and half a liter of milk as soon as I wake up. This is how I look (not in threemps cuz i used the video call camera for these)

Trust me, it's a REALLY REALLY Bad feeling..

Moving on, the first 4 Bucks I spent.. They were simply on a single pack of Tiger Biscuits, which constituted one half of my "breakfast" which was late enough to be mixed up with my lunch timing so, it helped me shift my lunch together with my dinner..

My Most Favorite biscuit brand, and holding a packet of it
felt so good today.. for reasons unknown.

This Cute Little Piece of DOG started following me as soon as I bought
that pack of Biscuits. I Sooo wanted to rip the pack open and
give it to him, but the #28BuckDay kicked in

Next came the next Compromise.. Walking to college instead of riding. It wasn't a new feeling cuz I'd walked this way before.. just a few pics to let you know what it looked like. (I know it looks more like a trek than a walk, the reason is Positive, they're laying down a Sewage pipeline)

Nice-ness

The pessimist would say, "man such a bad road".
The optimist would say, "hey!they're laying down a new pipeline"

This pic, showing the awesome highway has NO significance
whatsoever.. I just pointed my phone
somewhere and clicked

Moving on to the Next 4 Bucks I spent, "CUTTING-CHAI" and Dunking them Tigers in the Chai(well that came for free)

Though for just Rs.2 more I could've gotten a Full Chai, but i just Like
the li'l glasses in which we get a Cutting instead of the lame cups

A TIGER IN SUNLIGHT.. This too GOT Dunked.

The next pic shows what I was left with after the "breakfast-ish" excapade..

Okay Now comes the time for the Textual story(no i couldn't CLICK any pics due to Time Constraints), so the deal is I had to Make it to a random meeting in a place which lies nearly 15km's from my place.. Hence I Naturally CHOSE the lifeline of Mumbai... for the rest of this boring story, contact me on fb or via email...

Walking back, this is a really common sight, and a few of these ARE my Awesome friends too

Moving on, I Returned from the aforementioned meeting at it was DAAARK... I stopped at a Store and bought my Dinner Ingredients(just two) and a Single CANDLE..

the Single Candle Will Definitely be a New Blogpost, cuz i've Clicked really trippy pics of it..

moving on, a VAGUE Teaser .....

as BAD as this pic is, I am Assuring you that "the Single Candle"
will MOVE you

The final few Expenditures:
a) 250ml Packet of Milk: Rs. 8
b) Half of a Small Bread Packet(Yes i convinced the : Rs. 5
shopkeeper to open the packet and give me half for 5)
c) 10 Smses: Rs. 1

No I wasn't Starving when I reached home but "thanks to my MOM" I was reminded of this real cool thing I used to eat when I was a Kid, I used to call it "दूध-bread" and Trust me it's the AWESOMEST thing to eat on an empty stomach. Cut ur bread into little pieces, Pour some milk..MIX and THAT's IT.

wait for the bread to soak it up a bit, and enjoy... Super Filling and super awesome..

oh yeah, you people can add in Sugar.. IF you ever try this out.!

At the end of the day.. this is what i looked like(kinda dead cuz it's CANDLELIGHT)..

AND THIS IS WHAT I PROUDLY SAVED....

Hope you had fun reading.. I know I could've been more organized about the whole day but this #28BuckDay plan came directly out of my spine, and i barely gave any thought to it..

All the love and awesomeness .. .

Bird(s)

2012-03-20T07:01:00.000-07:00

Shot with a 4 hour gap, its Definitely not the SAME bird. Showcasing how the subjects posture affects the whole picture.. even if the subject is NONHUMAN

Nothing signifies the dedication of Parent's in ONE Picture More than a brooding bird.. i was lucky enough to capture it from close range... a comparison of the two pics will reveal the difference in the pictures.. its not too deep. its just that the former pic has been taken with the camera at the same level as the subject. works MOSTLY ONLY WITH ANIMALS.

Scoring a perfect 90degree shot is tough.. luckily ended up with two
birds right in the center of the frame(almost)

at least 70-80 birds in this pic.. can you spot em all?? this also happens to be
one of the largest pics from my phones camera. 1.32MB

Admittedly this pic has nothing to do with BIRD(s) I'm just showing off
how I focused onto the window mesh using my phone

A Cuppa Coffee

2012-03-11T01:10:00.002-08:00

This the only pic in this Post that's in Color. Maybe its the Prettiest one of the lot too!! Throwing the background out of focus for Anything looks great UNLESS the background IS your Subject.

One could say I'm showing off my Coffee Mug, I probably AM, but this pic is more about concentrating the Photos Composition on the TEXT. Works Well With Printed stuff..

Keeping the Lines in a Pic Straight gives, In the End, a Better Final Picture.. Compare the Pic above this, and the One to the right..

and yeah, enlarge the pic to the right.. I LOVED the Focus on the Froth Bubbles.. <3

Sunlight on the Froth... and bits of text. Be the Judge yourself...

So Final Words, Grayscale Is great. it reduces the chance of a lighting error tremendously. More such grayscale pics and posts soon.. :)

"ARR WHY ELL SEE" TWO THOUSAND AND TWELVE WHOO!!

2012-03-03T06:22:00.001-08:00

For the awesome people and awesomeness of RYLC '12

comes this special post just for you guys! These are most of the pics I took during the short 4 day stay.. Hope you like it!!

The first two pics are 2 paparazzi shots(i admit they look voyeuristic and awkward) but showcasing two of the awesomest people who had roles in Coaching me in one or the other way.... Prithivish(don't think u'll ever read this) and Saloni(you probably might read this)..

Next up...the Glow in the dark Party Night!! Though Clicking in UV light is IMPOSSIBLE with cellphones(yes i've tried gazillion's of times so let's make do with GLOOWWW STICKS!! The first pic in this Actually shows another glow stick in the background, Which was in the hands of MY LCP DIVYA JAGASIA.. (i have an awesome memory)

okay this was one of the FIRST pics i took with the actual intent of uploading it over here.. This pic shows our room attendant doing his tiring and at the same time dangerous job of getting us warm water.. you'd know about this ONLY if you guys took a bath in the 4 days... no offence!

Flowers and LEAVES!! HOW COULD I MISS THEM ANYWHERE I GO??? lol.. well for some reason my camphone clicks them well and i did that at the RYLC as well.. the morning after the Glow in the dark night, having slept just ONE frigging hour that too on the Couch on the first floor(like many others) I had to find the sun and get My Kick of Caffeine that is ... u guessed it, Clicking! i sound like an addict don't I?

Though our conference wasn't in Goa, We sure had our fair share of coconut trees.. hehe

Prateek Keni!! Note the braided goatee.. okay enuf of that. This guys like the Bass Guitarist of this awesome band Called Grimmortal.. so if there are any Heavy metal Fans who follow my blog, Google em up please??!! :)

The spoons we ate from in the 4 days there... There's another, Kinda gross "creation" by Christopher(AIESEC MUMBAI) but that'd change the way we look at Spoons and Cups for eever!!! Kinda awesome the focus thingy on the one on the left.. Noob words right???\

okay.. now sadly the LAST PIC and also the best!! the CROWD at the PLEN DOORS ... awe-some-ness!!

With this, I sign off .. hope that u all liked it and actually read every bit of everything i've written... <3

Where you see a Crack in a Glass, I See a Crack at Opportunity!!

2012-03-02T11:01:00.001-08:00

Totally love the title I've come up with for this post.. Means a lot. I totally remember the "awe-struck" faces of my friends when they saw me actually clicking this and since its my phone the AWE part was larger..

Coming back to the post and what I do best. TEACH!! Cracks in a Glass.. Cracks in A mirror. Cracks even in wood can be used for spectacular effects. Editing = zero in ALL of these pics.. The one that's kinda Yellow was shot in a tunnel(yes i'm a lucky bastard)

Cracks in Mirrors appear Silvery(total internal reflection Sh*t) and using that as an Advantage, one can easily have the subject in front of the mirror and click it at a 45degree angle.. so much for my words, I'll click a pic and show you people instead... Later like I've always said in multiple posts and have never come back.. Reason? Well I find the NEWER things in life better!!!

The GLASS in THIS post happens to be of a Bus, if you hadn't guessed by now when i mentioned Tunnel and Friends.. Anyways, I took out my camphone, focused, clicked! various Backgrounds, for eg. the SUN in the first pic, the tunnel in one of them, just the SKY in the last pic etc.. be creative.. Show off!! though i don't earn from the junk i click, i Hope you guys are lucky enough to find Decent buyers!

Luck and Love..

Teeny Tips!

2012-02-23T08:54:00.003-08:00

Call this a continuation of the post Child's Play or a whole new post altogether.. cuz this is the Child whose toy that was..

This first pic shows how an offset composition with a cellphone looks great too...

This second pic is an example of sweep motion photography. You could google it up, it really helps with pics of moving objects and animals alike..

Another pair of Silhouettes!

2012-02-15T08:05:00.000-08:00

Have a desperate urge to click but find yourself facing direct sunlight?? Don't lose much sweat, get the sun behind a building, tower, Object and click it's silhouette instead.. Works well with large objects but small objects catch a whole different SUN..

and yeah, once you click, DON'T upload it as it is. Increase the shadows by simply reducing the brightness and one auto correct later, effects like the above pics will be yours!!

Foliage

2012-02-08T04:10:00.003-08:00

Except for the case of a Moneyplant and The Touch-me-not, all we look for in a plant is how and when it'll bloom.. Well here's a whole new perspective at the not very loved leaves that are the site of *PHOTOSYNTHESIS* ... wow geek speak made its way here!!

anyways all using a Phone again.. i mention this cuz i've had Quite a few people who disbelieved(that links to my last post)!!

Disbelief

2012-02-03T11:30:00.000-08:00

I sometimes leave Myself Speechless with the pics i end up taking...

so it's all about dedication and Patience! your Camera Doesnt matter as much as the subject does...

I caught a bee

2012-01-19T10:17:00.000-08:00

I sometimes wonder how *freakily awesome* my pictures turn out to be.. for eg. this random snap of a flower somehow captured a tiny bee doing its job...

Color me lucky!!!

Spectacularity

2012-01-11T03:26:00.000-08:00

Home grown lilies, a clay vase and 3 steps of editing.. The original not so spectacular pic is also posted below as a reference..

pretty neat??

Child's Play

2012-01-06T05:56:00.000-08:00

This picture shows a toddler toy in motion.. almost captures the motion i'd say!
